I’ve noticed almost all of the things pointed out in the Summer Night’s clip for years. It’s so fun to hear someone else notice things like that and explain their importance in the scene. I think this stuff is so interesting, but so many people just miss it. Same thing with a lot of animated classics. But I never could figure out the dude in the background - Thanks for sharing the explanation. 😊
Great stuff Ed. Hope all is well. I gotta say though I thought the first rule of Storyboard Artists Club was to NOT TALK ABOUT THE FLOOBY NOOBY SITE (and keep it secret)! Ha ha! Hope alls well man!
😃Amazing! You still have that book!!! I subsequently learned that the book was my sister's friend's book! I had it and never gave it back! LOL I wish I still had it :)
@@amandategner1314 1 thing you can start doing on your own - without any instruction is: watch a film and draw it out. That is: play a scene, press the pause button, draw it out in a thumbnail. Press play for the next shot - press pause and draw out a thumbnail of it. Repeat this process for how long you want to and soon you will find you have drawn 100's of thumbnails and you can analyze the shot, the kind of cut and framing, the cut, the cut to what etc.. I'd recommend 2 types of film - one live-action film and then your favourite Pixar movie. Other things you can do is check out site like StoryboardArt.org or even the FloobyNooby.com and 1 more: Temple Of the Seven Camels - here is a write up about that site: illustratorslounge.com/lounge-notes/websites/temple-of-the-seven-golden-camels-everything-i-know-about-the-art-of-storyboarding/ ENJOY!

I was younger than you when the movie came out and saw it a lot in the theater! I also loved that photo book and still have a copy today.

I found a copy at a comic convention. Just need to look in some nooks and crannies!
Wow! This was such an insightful, informative breakdown! Thanks so much for making this!
Your story breakdowns and analyses on your channel are excellent too!!
