MONSTER HIGH - BOO YORK, BOO YORK - "EMPIRE" STORYBOARDS

For the song, ‘Empire’ in Monster High, Boo York, Boo York (on sale now!) We had about maybe 3 days to come up the visuals for this song. 2 days to storyboard and then 1 day for the Editor. Day 1: After a conference call with Mattel, we set to work, listening to the song, lyrics, brainstorming initial ideas, then, thumbnailing them out and pitching to our Director, revising ideas. Day 2 - rough-cleans, as fast as possible, in order to get the panels to our editor so that he could assemble an animatic to submit to Mattel for approval. We had myself and another artist, each do a version of the song. This was my version. We combined both our ideas for the final version seen in the film. this looks way better than what the movie had. The movie version was good, but this seems more like a duet performance than what we got. ESPECIALLY the ending here.

Yes, It is mine. As noted in the description, we had only 2 days to come up with ideas for this song. Myself and another storyboard artist each did a take. In the final film, it is a combination of ideas meshed together by the Director.
