No joke, with the amount of training, trials and overall power gain we see Marco go through as the show goes on (plus the fact that he was strong enough to be useful from the get-go) making him a villain would have been a very interesting twist, seeing him all that he learned *against* his former friends. Also I loved the note of sad bitterness on Kelly at the end of her part. It really speaks volume about how this is more than just "good vs bad"

Even if it wasn't a "villain/corruption" arc, Marco using the wand - or rather, not using it - is a huge missed opportunity to explore and raise the questions they wanted to in the last season about who has magic and why.
No offense, but for being honnest this is the first cartoon I see you americans ever give a lot of relevance to a character of mexican origin, being next to the hero character, who is Star, and being in the USA instead of other shows like Mucha Lucha and El Tigre, when you people are usually so racist against mexicans in your country, which is your posture to mexicans in general? what percent of people of your country thinks of mexican influence as positive or negative, depending of the states you live in?

the finale they came up with was too rushed but it was not necessarily a bad one if they had developed the narrative as they did in the first, second and third (until toffee was defeated) seasons and did not focus that much on shipping starco, it could have been way better

If they ever remake SVTFOE: THIS is how the finale should be. And it doesn't matter if it's a cliffhanger or a bittersweet ending, it would definetly be a better conclusion compared to what we got.

Remember he got decades of fighting under his belt, it wouldn't be a stretch to say he could own quite a lot of opponents. Plus, no one forgot that time he punched a hole through Toffee's chest. He got some serious raw power when he gets angry. What if he gave in to that anger ?
Something that they could've done instead of the way they did end the show is having them defeat Mina with magic instead of destroying the magic and then they keep the magic to live another season and then when they start the next season it starts with the classic svtfoe antics then at some point something happens to marco to make him evil(though I dont think that anyone can handle any kind of death so make it evil magic or something) then we make a few episodes on other perspectives of the other characters and near the the end they should ask TTS if they can use this song because it fits the situation and then the fight can be split into 3 episodes where they're either fighting marco or about to so then they save him somehow and then they defeat whatever corrupted marco and they keep the magic to live happily. That's a summary of what season five could've been more or less mabye it could've just been the ending and they do what they want. Also Tom heard that Marco and Star got together so hes ready to kill him. One last thing, remember when he got called by the principal and he said they would regret being voted the safe kid? Well here you go.
I think, if they were to make an episode in this style (with Marco as a villain), they could easily make a good fitting song, borrowing a song from another show would just be lame in that case.
With the amount of skill and power Marco has, and the fact that Star and him have fought before for fun and that Marco could HOLD HIS OWN, would have been amazing for this. Like if this were in the real show it would have been a call back to that scene!

Well that was... A really good animatic, and I understood it had to fit the plot of the real song... but darn. it got DARK. I mean, I worry to think what had to go down for this to take place. Welp, here's my take on what happened: Long ago, when queen Celena Butterfly ruled Mewni, she was very, VERY shy. One day she used the magic scissors to escape. Then she met a human, she fell for him and kept coming every night while also having a husband. She had a kid with one and the other. The one she had with the human passed down her magic, but due to the lack of magic non of them could learn how to use it. Until Marco.. After he used the wand for the first time he felt a connection, he started to have dreams about Celena Butterfly. He tried to ignore it but it never went away, so sometimes at night he would steal Star's wand. Just to make the nightmares stop. After a long time, while fighting his parents died from a monster (something like that) he blamed Star. He had enough of magic hurting those he loves so he made a plan... Destroy the magic (here comes the part of Marco's fever dream where he was in a suit like Toffee. He had the same goal now) He stole the wand and queen, so hopefully she knows a spell which can bring his parents back, ofc she didn't. So the new plan was to make Star do it, his parents for her mom.. He knew she was way stronger then Moon. That was his only chance. Now well they are going to stop Marco, knowing he's dangerous with the wand, they made an army but silently they all wanted this to end peacefully. Side note: I know this might be a trash idea and this video is old rn. But I srsly needed to get these ideas out of my head and wrote them down.

I really think that Marco is part of the real family butterfly, because why did the moons appear in his face in the serie ? “Oh It Is BeCaUsE hE loVEd Star!” No. Because king river was in love with queen moon and nothing happened to his face, and look Marco is vert similar with Justin butterfly and Justin wasn’t the king beacause he has a sister who were the queen, so Marco can be a real butterfly?!
I love this so much and I watch it over and over again but every time I do I want to do a rewatch of SVFOE but like I *hated* the ending of the series and refuse to watch it again so instead I think I'm just going to finally watch the tangled series thanks to you.
Pretty sure someone has already commented on this, but I'll put it here. If you look at the beginning, Marco is held up in Star's room on *Earth.* Not Mewni. Meaning: Star *deliberately* led the Mewnian army away so she could face Marco herself.
Ik I thought I was the only one who hated the finale, like starco was rushed we only got like 4 episodes when they were together, also so many unanswered questions.
When you realize Star lead the army to the Royal Castle, and then slipped away to face Marco on her own where he actually is waiting, in her bedroom tower attached to his home on Earth.

*Dear Art of Rhues, everything you did here can be called perfection. The way every voice from Rapunzel fits everyone you chose. Star being Rapunzel specifically is so close to herself, as in personality. Marco is so broken down that you can see cracks on his cheeks at the moons and on his arms near the end too. The use of light is irreplaceable and makes it seem the more realistic the more you look at it. You delivered us the perfect Svtfoe ending that we all didn’t know we needed and didn’t get, but thanks to you it’s reality. Thank You, eternally.* ❤️
While I don’t honestly see it happening in the foreseeable future, Marco would admittedly be a great villain, and a lot of things would fit if he suddenly turned to the dark side.
Yes I agree although not in this way... if Marco turns to be evil then I think that he will resembale Toffe in some ways (Also I think that Toffe will return at some point I mean like other than Toffe and Marco who also has a chance at actually being evil in the next season? (Toffe also might be Seth considering Toffe said that Moon can call him like that but he didn't say if that is he's true name, Eclipsa has been proven to not be evil, Globcor might only be released later on in the season (I think that Marco will release him instead of Eclipsa and that he will be the one to find Moon) and he'll be kinda evil in the first time cuase he will try to eat Marco (and I hope that Marco will win) but then turns out to be good, Meteora is defeated and now a child, Ludo will probably want the wand again and he thinks that it's still Star's wand - good luck trying to steal it from Eclipsa ,16 lost mewmans Marco is probably one of them and they would probably rebel againts mewni at some point in the season, And my thought is that Marco is either connected to Skywynne, to Justin or to these 25 lost queens that were before Skywynne's mother (lyric or something like that) so I don't see any other villain other than Marco and Toffe).

why didn't we get this finale, i swear to god this is like a hundred times better than the one we had years ago. This just SCREAMS action and adventure, literally amazing watching this again just gave me chills !
They made it a whole thing at the beginning of the show of Marco being "The safe boy", the 2 of them being at odds is what I expected from the start. And then the episode with his father's reaction when he thought he lost everything, and how he turned from this soft, happy guy to something scary; I thought they were just planting the seeds, and we would see a like father, like son scenario. And then with the wand in his hands, it became Demonic looking.... Ugh, they could have done so much and they gave us a sappy ending, where they literally killed their friends, but it's okay because they loved each other. ugh And don't get me started on the whole Tom thing. He worked damn hard to make sure he was healthy enough to be in a healthy relationship with Star, only to throw it all away. Now don't get me wrong, I didn't mind the break up, it was clear, he was putting in more effort than her, but how sudden it was made no sense. That should have been something he noticed after time, since he was busy working on his own flaws and too busy in that to see hers.
I am usually an inveterate shipper, but I really did think Star/Marco was a forced pairing. They had much more best friend/brother-sister vibe than "romantic." Marco had more romantic chemistry with both Kelly and Hecapoo. And, in all honesty, spending 16 years literally chasing a woman through a world that is revelatory of who she is will teach you a lot about her. I imagine he had a lot of encounters with her duplicates throughout that time, too. Their meeting when he finally caught the last one/the real her was very much old rivals and friends congratulating each other on a game well played. Not strangers; by then, they knew each other very well. So, while I think Marco/Kelly is a sweeter relationship, Marco/Hecapoo makes a crazy amount of sense and would have worked very, very well. Star/Marco is... bland, as a romance. As bad as (and I know I'll get hate for this) Luz/Amity. (Which I also feel had way more best friend energy than romantic; again, it felt forced.)

Something that they could've done instead of the way they did end the show is having them defeat Mina with magic instead of destroying the magic and then they keep the magic to live another season and then when they start the next season it starts with the classic svtfoe antics then at some point something happens to marco to make him evil(though I dont think that anyone can handle any kind of death so make it evil magic or something) then we make a few episodes on other perspectives of the other characters and near the the end they should ask TTS if they can use this song because it fits the situation and then the fight can be split into 3 episodes where they're either fighting marco or about to so then they save him somehow and then they defeat whatever corrupted marco and they keep the magic to live happily.
That's a summary of what season five could've been more or less mabye it could've just been the ending and they do what they want.
Also Tom heard that Marco and Star got together so hes ready to kill him.
One last thing, remember when he got called by the principal and he said they would regret being voted the safe kid? Well here you go.

Welp, here's my take on what happened:
Long ago, when queen Celena Butterfly ruled Mewni, she was very, VERY shy. One day she used the magic scissors to escape.
Then she met a human, she fell for him and kept coming every night while also having a husband. She had a kid with one and the other. The one she had with the human passed down her magic, but due to the lack of magic non of them could learn how to use it.
Until Marco.. After he used the wand for the first time he felt a connection, he started to have dreams about Celena Butterfly. He tried to ignore it but it never went away, so sometimes at night he would steal Star's wand. Just to make the nightmares stop.
After a long time, while fighting his parents died from a monster (something like that) he blamed Star. He had enough of magic hurting those he loves so he made a plan... Destroy the magic (here comes the part of Marco's fever dream where he was in a suit like Toffee. He had the same goal now)
He stole the wand and queen, so hopefully she knows a spell which can bring his parents back, ofc she didn't. So the new plan was to make Star do it, his parents for her mom..
He knew she was way stronger then Moon. That was his only chance. Now well they are going to stop Marco, knowing he's dangerous with the wand, they made an army but silently they all wanted this to end peacefully.
Side note: I know this might be a trash idea and this video is old rn. But I srsly needed to get these ideas out of my head and wrote them down.

Star being Rapunzel specifically is so close to herself, as in personality. Marco is so broken down that you can see cracks on his cheeks at the moons and on his arms near the end too. Yes I agree although not in this way... if Marco turns to be evil then I think that he will resembale Toffe in some ways (Also I think that Toffe will return at some point I mean like other than Toffe and Marco who also has a chance at actually being evil in the next season? (Toffe also might be Seth considering Toffe said that Moon can call him like that but he didn't say if that is he's true name, Eclipsa has been proven to not be evil, Globcor might only be released later on in the season (I think that Marco will release him instead of Eclipsa and that he will be the one to find Moon) and he'll be kinda evil in the first time cuase he will try to eat Marco (and I hope that Marco will win) but then turns out to be good, Meteora is defeated and now a child, Ludo will probably want the wand again and he thinks that it's still Star's wand - good luck trying to steal it from Eclipsa ,16 lost mewmans Marco is probably one of them and they would probably rebel againts mewni at some point in the season, And my thought is that Marco is either connected to Skywynne, to Justin or to these 25 lost queens that were before Skywynne's mother (lyric or something like that) so I don't see any other villain other than Marco and Toffe).

yeah it's quite heart breaking.
They made it a whole thing at the beginning of the show of Marco being "The safe boy", the 2 of them being at odds is what I expected from the start. And then the episode with his father's reaction when he thought he lost everything, and how he turned from this soft, happy guy to something scary; I thought they were just planting the seeds, and we would see a like father, like son scenario.
And then with the wand in his hands, it became Demonic looking.... Ugh, they could have done so much and they gave us a sappy ending, where they literally killed their friends, but it's okay because they loved each other. ugh
And don't get me started on the whole Tom thing. He worked damn hard to make sure he was healthy enough to be in a healthy relationship with Star, only to throw it all away. Now don't get me wrong, I didn't mind the break up, it was clear, he was putting in more effort than her, but how sudden it was made no sense. That should have been something he noticed after time, since he was busy working on his own flaws and too busy in that to see hers.
I am usually an inveterate shipper, but I really did think Star/Marco was a forced pairing. They had much more best friend/brother-sister vibe than "romantic." Marco had more romantic chemistry with both Kelly and Hecapoo. And, in all honesty, spending 16 years literally chasing a woman through a world that is revelatory of who she is will teach you a lot about her. I imagine he had a lot of encounters with her duplicates throughout that time, too. Their meeting when he finally caught the last one/the real her was very much old rivals and friends congratulating each other on a game well played. Not strangers; by then, they knew each other very well.
So, while I think Marco/Kelly is a sweeter relationship, Marco/Hecapoo makes a crazy amount of sense and would have worked very, very well.
Star/Marco is... bland, as a romance. As bad as (and I know I'll get hate for this) Luz/Amity. (Which I also feel had way more best friend energy than romantic; again, it felt forced.)

Honestly Marco and Star worked perfectly as best friends,why change that?🤷 And I agree with Luz and Amity like they didn't click for me and I honestly don't understand why they ended up together,there was NO romantici chemistry,It was just awkward. Hunter and Luz seemed to me a more likely ship,I mean they had SO many moments that just helped them to grow closer and understand each other better than anyone. Like Come on. I can't be the only one to see It.
Or in short fear not the man who has everything (star) fear the man who has nothing (Marco) for he who has everything will do everything to protect it becoming predictable but he who has nothing has nothing to fear and thus is the most dangerous of them all
