It is finally here! After months of stress, losing half of my work and hurting my shoulder, it is finished. Thank you all for being so patient with me. I’d just like to point out that I haven’t watched the final season yet and started this long before it had come out so alot of it is most likely different from canon.

I love the ending. It perfectly encapsulates how people see Eclipsa and how she actually is. Everyone sees her with the red eyes and cheeks, battle-ready, blackened arm, readied weapon. But then we can see past the red to a tearful, terrified young mother persecuted for the great crime of loving the wrong person and giving birth to an interracial child.
It's terrible how people saw her as a witch, yet all she was doing was protecting her family.

Is it just me or do you think not only bc of the kingdom for being racist against monsters that her ex- husband King Shastican wanted to get rid of Globgore and Eclipsa bc she chose a monster over him; and gave a monster a child but not him; and that’s why they disposed of Metiora after bc she was just a reminder that his wife didn’t love him and that she chose a quote on quote “monster” over him.

@@raeannmills5329 I would agree, but it was an arranged marriage, and neither of them particularly liked the other. Shastacan and the MHC got rid of Meteora not because Eclipsa cheated and she was therefore illegitimate- the Butterfly line is matrilineal, and in matrilineal societies, legitimacy isn't as big a deal because you know exactly who the parent that "counts" for the bloodline is. By all rights, Meteora should have gone on to be queen, monster heritage or not. It was out of bias and to maintain the status quo, so instead of trying to do right by her, they chose a random child to be the next queen. Shastacan's job was to be a placeholder until Eclipsa/Festivia grew up, not to decide the successor. It was all out of spite and racism.

Guys, remember, Eclipsa’s affair with Globgor wasn’t brought to light until way after her mother’s death. Her mother adored her and thought she was going to be a great queen. That’s why in the show, we see Solaria forgive her daughter because it made her happy. That’s all she ever cared about.
Actually, if I'm not mistaking, I saw somewhere that in the magic book of spells sold by Disney, Solaria knew about her daughter's romance with a monster and she was totally against it. She even was the one who arranged Eclipsa's marriage with Shastcan, sometime near her death. Eclipsa must have been through some veeeery hard times because of her passion with Globgor :(

Eclipsa is the only character in the show that has any depth or development. I’m sad that they didn’t use her character to her full potential.

Poor Eclipsa, she was deemed the queen of darkness, called evil, separated from her family and frozen forever just because she fell in love.
Granted the person she fell in love with had a dark history but a) she helped him move past it b) it was bigotry
I really love how the show pulled such a bait and switch, making even the viewers just wait for the (obvious) evil scheme that Eclipsa HAD to be plotting, only for her to never do and genuinely just be a good, misunderstood person.
From what I've seen of Globgore, he's a really nice guy who's protective of his family and has a black sense of humor. What if the story of him eating shasticsn was actually a joke and that it's a cake version of him like in the series?

I actually feel horrible for Eclipsa. She ruled over a kingdom of racists, and lived under the shadow of her mother Solaria who was in the same boat as the rest of Mewni. She had to choose- head or heart? She went with her heart- and paid the price. She lost her daughter and her husband, and was forever portrayed as a monster staining the Butterfly legacy. Imagine being rejected by your own home and left to die. Poor Eclipsa. She got so much shit for the stupidest reason ever- for being in love.
She dated a monster who ate and torture people, banned her kingdom and messed with dark magic something shouldn't be doing
@@mollymcmurtrie8037 Technically her spells aren’t dark. That’s what the people of mewnie called it. Just because some spells look evil doesn’t mean they actually are. What about Solaria, before she died, she was making a spell that could kill any being(yes, the spell eclipsa used on that solarian warrior was in fact not hers but solaria’s, but she finished it) isn’t it hypocritical that everyone judges eclipsa for doing “dark” spells when solaria was literally making a killing spell.
And Globcor stopped eating people after he met eclipsa, he was safe because she reformed him, but the people of mewnie were too blind and didn’t even give him a chance. Say what you want but Eclipsa deserves much more appreciation.

I love the symbolism of her putting her hat on once shes made the decision to follow her heart rather than her duty. She rejected the crown as firmly and literally as she could by finally putting something else on her head in its place

That line is so sad, considering how Eclipsa was treated.

Tbh, The logical thing to do is to pick your kingdom, after all she was a butterfly and a butterfly is destined to be Queen.
But she followed her heart,

I believe Eclipsa and Star is alike in many ways. They both find good in people. Just like Eclipsa did in Globgor. She didn’t judge him by appearance but by heart.

DaMeow Master I agree, and in the trial, she denied nothing and all she wanted was to see her family. She wanted to know what they did to her daughter, which they gave away! Her husband was crystallised and even when he was released, he ran in hopes of protecting his family, his love. When we were all watching, we expected to see her as an evil queen because that’s what we were lead to, but then it brought us back to earth when we saw her.... we judged her on things were heard. All powerful? She can’t do magic without the wand. Evil? She just made her own spells, which Star does too.
I love Eclipsa because she’s open to almost anything and isn’t afraid to stand up for what she loves and believes in. Her family and heart comes first, while that created consequences... overall it was beneficial, cause they started to erase that conflict slowly. I wanted more Eclipsa

3:26 I love the use of the dolls in this scene. It represents all could have been and the broken family Eclipsa is risking her life to protect. It's a powerful and subtle representation of the love Eclipsa has for her unique family, no matter what.
You know those are in the actual show in that room right? Thats the reason their there. Not being rude, just saying. (I could be wrong but that's what I noticed)
They should do a show based off of Eclipsa’s life before getting frozen in that crystal. From her childhood, fearing her mother’s rage and anti-monster ideals, hanging out with her uncle Jushtin. To her teenage years, meeting Globgor and meeting in secret on a near constant basis, her mothers death and her ascending to the throne at a young age, dealing with marrying King Shastican and how much she despised him. To her adult years, being pregnant with Meteora, staying with Globgor for longer and longer, running away because she can’t stand living a lie, being captured as she tries to defend her family before being captured in crystal.
It’d be a great series..

Towards the end she gets prepared for battle and acts like the monster everyone 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 her to be then in that last scene you just see the caring eyes of an innocent woman just wanting to protect her daughter....

All Eclipsa did was fall in love and they imprisones her in a giant crystal! She was just trying to protect her husband and daughter. At the end you can see that she kinda gave up on purpose to not be a monster. And they call her the evil one! They trapped her and her husband in crystals for 3 hundred years and switched her daughter for a peasant and ruined the butterfly family tree. All she wanted to do was find love.
Well she did date the country worst enemy and wrote dark spells. But I do agree, taking away daughter and messing her up is wrong.
Yeah, plus if they had actually accepted Meteora as the queen, THE ENTIRE problem with monsters vs. Merman, and Meteora doing.... whatever she did, to everyone could have been prevented.

It's sad how they made eclipsa into a bad person because of who she loved. The animatic was worth the wait and I'm glad that it turned out amazing ❤️

I want you to know: This is one of the best animatics I’ve ever seen. The only reason I’m not saying it’s THE best is that you have other animatics that are just as amazing as this one. It’s just,,, perfect? The movements the characters make, every expression, every shot is perfect and I adore it. It evokes such emotion that I actually cried at the end? And the animation looks fantastic too, by the way. I just genuinely love everything about this video. Please, keep up the wonderful work💗

Pretty much my thought process. One of the best animatics I've ever seen.
Eclipsa is the character that would have made the cartoon even more interesting. Her story, her mind, even her childhood.. are too many secrets that ended up without explanation. If they would have gaven Eclipsa a even deeper story, it would have been amazing as she is. At those final episodes, example: the one Eclipsa said "my whole life has been a 'moment like this, Moon'", they could have put in a flashback from the moment when Eclipsa was crystallized, a flashback of a 'moment like this' for Eclipsa. Or when Eclipsa and Moon apeared "fighting", after Eclipsa realizing Moon took again the Solarian Army, they could have put a flashback from a discussion between Eclipsa and Solaria about their ways to think about monsters, Eclipsa confessing her monster-love and Solaria confessing that she made a treat with the Spiderbites to marry Eclipsa, and she being amazed and angry from that wrong choice of her mother about her daughter's own future as Queen of Mewni.

You put more thought into it then the actual creator.
It honestly felt to me like they were setting up a proper Eclipsa flashback and they just forgot. And it sucks because Eclipsa's whole character feels incomplete with out it. Like in the ending when you see her mother's spirit embracing her half demon grandchild. If you had no knowledge of the tie in book of magic you would have NO idea why that even mattered.
It's really ashame of how much potential the story had, but either had to cut it short or didnt acknowledge it
The whole series felt like it was cut short. It genuinely feels like they were expecting to have at least one more season, and halfway through the actual last season Disney was like "Yeah, no. We're not giving you another season. You've got to wrap all this up now."

They could legitimately make a darker series just out of Eclipsa's story, after all just think of how much she must have used the spell with no name to get her arms as dark as they were.

What they did to Eclipsa was so so horrible.
I love Eclipsa, her personality is so good and she just wanted others to accept her and her family, but sadly she didn't get it.
The whole last season was so disappinting. I wish they had something like this in the final season. That would have given so much more development for Eclipsa. Amazing work.

Gabiruh an animatic. Its a process done before introducing real animation in a short/movie/project. Basically to demonstrate the more important posing and composition. Just like this amazing example
All that pain and suffering, Eclipsa has a lot of reasons to became a real monster. Yet, she isn't, she wasn't, and she'll never became something like that. For that and many other reasons she will always be my favorite character.

I like to think she went to Meteora for a few reasons. 1) She wanted to see her baby again but 2) because she knew if she didn’t make it. If anything happened to her at least someone would find her. If she was captured or killed anywhere but her daughter’s room then Meteora would be dead. No one would’ve found her because no one would most likely care to look. Sure, there was the risk they could kill her then and there but Eclipsa had a micro ounce of hope her baby would survive this siege.

And her prayer would be answered. For Shastacan and the Magical High Commission had just enough mercy left in them not to kill a child-even one that would be viewed by Mewmans as a traitor’s half-breed bastard. And it would take three centuries of pain and suffering, but Eclipsa would find her baby girl again, and Meteora would have the chance of a loving childhood once more.

The sad thing is that she did not have the same luck as Eclipsa, as the dark lord's father killed her and abandoned her son for being part monster. What do you think about this

you realize that when she says, "do I kill the monster" she's contemplating suicide? this is just so sad,in the TV show she seems so OK, but it must be really hard being called a freak by the whole kingdom. also, does anyone else think that these animatics are better than the actual TV finales?
I love how Elsa has suicidal thoughts in this song tbh, it really helps her relate to people actually struggling, and throught the musical, and song might help those people realize that they arent alone.

This was originally meant for Elsa to sing as she was supposed to be the villain in Frozen, but the directors had a whole 180 and turn her into a hero instead. So instead of her signing Let It Go, this was supposed to be the Song she sang.

Well Eclipsa left her husband and abandoned her kingdom and people for a Mewman-eating monster + got a bunch of evil magic spells she created herself ofc they would lose trust in her

In the context of Eclipsa, and even Elsa from Frozen, this line shows how much they believe everyone's fears to be because something's wrong with themselves. In Frozen, it was because Elsa's parents taught her inadvertently to fear her powers, so the fear never began with Elsa. In Star vs The Force of Evil, it was because Eclipsa's mother raged a biased war against monsters that Eclipsa's love for one was feared. In the end, the fears came from the past fearing the new, ever-changing present.
I was a little obsessed with SvtFoE when I first watched this, and it brought tears to my eyes (still does, but that's not my point).
Later, I watched Frozen 2, and Show Yourself gave me the same chilling vibes of the mother-daughter reunion.
Last week, I decided to watch this wonderful animatic again, because I love it so very much. The third repeat was when I finally wondered where it came from and looked it up, realising this song came from Frozen the musical. I really didn't expect that.
I, in my subconscious mind, truly thought Art of Rhues created this song for the animatic. Because it fit so perfectly.

Something I still think about to this day is the fact that Meteora and Tom are the same, just in different environments. They're exactly the same kind of hybrid (demon type monster, mewman), share traits (alternate coloration, horns, tails, shapeshifting), and are both children of royalty. The only differences are time and the fact that Tom lives with the monsters, while Meteora was with the mewmans. As much as the two groups don't get on, the bias is much heavier from the mewmans. When someone sees Tom without knowing who he is (i.e. the shop scene), they treat him like any other monster. It's his status that protects him from further discrimination, because everyone knows that the prince of monsters is an important figure. But Meteora wasn't publicly known, and Eclipsa never had the chance to protect her from the MHC and Shastacan. She probably never thought she'd have to- who would harm the future queen of Mewni, after all?
Tom is plenty monster for the monsters to accept him, but Meteora could never be mewman enough, no matter how hard she tried. Her life as Ms. Heinous was miserable even when she "passed" as full mewman because she was never allowed to fully accept herself. It's a really good allegory for how biases can affect people differently, even if their situations are basically the same. Tom had people to protect him until he himself was recognizable enough not to need it. After her parents were taken, Meteora had no one.
I just imagine this was the moment when she got crystallized.
It amazes me how this dude, in only two short videos, did a better SVFOE story than Disney in its last season... I have mixed feelings about it :/

@@NoRegs30 yeah, i will keep this as my headcannon... the way the last season (and the previous one as well to ome extent) was treated was regretable, for all we know due to the tonned down the show had, the way Eclypsa was trapped in the actual lore could have been something like:
Magical High Commision: "Queen Eclypsa you will be crystalled due to treason to the kingdom"
Eclypsa: "Yeah, okay"
End of backstory.
I really wasn't a big fan of the ending of the show.

I love Frozen as a Broadway Musical and I love Star Vs the Forces of Evil (Especially Eclipsa and her story) and this is so beautiful and stunning
