Heeeeey, its me again, with another villain song, no surprise there. And this time its a Tinkerbell Villain song AND an original song. I'm super proud of this one ngl, everyone involved worked so bloody hard and we're all so happy with this end result. Enjoy my new song Fall Little Wendy Bird Fall!
Thank you so much to all those involved in the creation of this! Tony, Jasper, Jack, Lazyeule, you are all amazing!
    STORY
Fairies have been dying at an alarming rate in Neverland, as time goes on and the human world evolves more and more children simply no longer believe in fairies. And we all know the moment that happens a fairy is lost. Tinkerbell and her friends watch as their loved ones disappear one after another, their numbers dwindle and hope has long faded. Loss is something we all must go through but when it becomes an almost weekly occurrence Tinkerbell knows something must be done.
She begins her research, trying to understand the connection between humans and fairies. Maybe there was a way to sever the connection? To allow fairies to exist independent of human beliefs, but that would be impossible. A fairy is born from the first laugh of a newborn human baby, the bond between humans and fairies is directly linked to their existence. Tinkerbell tests many different theories to try and allow fairies to live free from human influence, but everytime she comes up blank. And as the weeks and months go by, Tinkerbell's bitterness towards the human race grows and grows. Fairies, full of magic and wonder and power, at the mercy of simple, insignificant, ungrateful children. It simply isn't fair.
Until one fateful day, Tinkerbell comes up with one last theory… If a fairy is born of a newborn's laugh, then maybe, just maybe, it’s the very same child that causes their eventual death. If Tink could ensure the child connected to her never lost faith, the children connected to her friends never lost faith, then she could at least keep herself and her loved ones alive. And so on their next trip to the mainland Tinkerbell convinces her friends to follow her plan, to find these children, take them away from their homes and bring them up in Neverland.
And so, they left, flying over the mainland and clinging to this final sliver of hope. They searched for hours with no luck, all seemed lost, how could they possible tell which child was theirs? That was until Tink felt a inexplicable pull to a window. And inside the window lay a young boy, no more than a few years old and she knew they'd done it. Tink had found Peter Pan. Her friends with a new surge of hope find their humans in the next few hours. Stolen from their cribs they were spirited away to the land of the fairies, to ensure they never stopped believing in fairies and never grew up.
Everything was going well, Tink and her friends were safe, until some strangers arrived in Neverland and put everything she’s worked so hard to protect at risk. Wendy, with her stories of home and family, whispering in the lost boys' ears, in Peter's ear. What if they decided to go back with her? What if they decided to grow up? It was something Tink simply couldn't allow, and so to protect her and her friends she would see Wendy fall.

      Queen Amaya's Villain Song
      Dahlia's Villain Song
Amaya has the most reasonable reason to become a villain, she sees the man she loves become corrupted by magic and straight up turns into a complete madman. Her Villain Origin can take place either after King Magnifico's descent into madness or at the end of the film since she'd have access to everything in his Dungeon.
For Dahlia, I don't actually got or can think of a reason for her, I honestly just want to see an Villainess Version of Knowing What I Know Now be sang. I'm sure you can think of a reason.

It also makes sense why the sirens/mermaids decided to help, in the little attempt to drown wendy, if it was simply due to jealousy they would've told tink to get a reality check, no matter how big it is, if it was however a means for life or death that's how they'll understand, i never understand the original movie, Never liked it neither, but what i did understood is that, all that, was cuz in that little land, their all, in a sense, family.

I've seen lots of people say that if Tink and Wendy communicated better she wouldn't have died, but that's the thing. Humans and fairies can't communicate, to humans fairies just sound like ringing bells.

Best thing about this is that the thing that keeps fairies alive is belief, not love. In the movie Tink almost dies bc Peter got upset at a small betrayal enough to stop believing in Tink's whole existence, which was easy as he planned to leave with Wemdy. And here he will be SO UPSET but, at the same time, how can you stop believing after this? Tink flipped the game by making Peter and the Lost Boys believe in her out of fear instead of the previous love

Oh man, doesn't that make everything even more wonderful? No matter how old you are, you will always believe that darkness is dangerous. Fear is the basic feeling of any developed living organism; it can even overcome the feeling of love. This also resonates with history, because people used to believe in fairies out of fear and well, faith out of fear works the same way as faith out of love.

This angle is pretty fascinating. You can imagine in ages past; people spent their entire lives believing in fairies. So, from the fairies' perspective, they had the same lifespan as humans. But, as humans delved more into science, fairies started to die more frequently and sooner. Then WW1 and WW2 hits and suddenly kids have to "grow up" a lot sooner. Something in the book I always found interesting (and terrifying) is that it states that fairies in Peter Pan can only experience one emotion at a time, and that emotion gets ramped up exponentially. In the scene of her being jealous, it was literally the only thing on her mind. Tink is literally the definition of emotionally unstable. Imagine somebody who would act on any impulse or intrusive thought, no matter how heinous, just because they were in a bad mood.

I think the saddest thing is that, Wendy probably doesn’t even know what she’s doing. She’s just telling kids about her life not thinking it would cause any trouble. I feel like if Tinker Bell had communicated to Wendy about the problems with fairies, Wendy would probably stop telling kids about growing up.

    • @iricrescent2901
      @iricrescent2901 15 дней назад +880

Sadly, as much as it would be nice to talk it out, I don’t think Wendy would stop. Nothing malicious on her side but she loves her family, and written as a motherly figure. I think she would feel for any parent whose child/baby was kidnapped for Tinker and her friend’s survival. It’s a no win situation.
Let the boys have a choice on what life they want / give them back to their family.
      Or
Take away that choice to save a life of creatures that depend on it.
Tinker did it for very good reasons to protect those she loved but she still kidnapped and took these children from a life with their families. Of course some kids could have horrible families but I doubt every single kid they took would have a bad family.
Wendy would sympathize but I think she’d imagine what a life like that would be for her two brothers. And unless they say they want that life, she would be angry if they don’t even get to choose.
Tragic story for a tragic song. I really like the villain take overall, again because of the no win situation. Really sad but that’s what makes it a good tragedy. Now I’m gonna go watch something happy 😅

Comment of inspiration: "See, but then I think Peter would have his own villain arc in response to this... "
Peter dives as fast as he can, desperation and pure instinct driving him to speeds he'd never thought possible. Fast as a falcon, fast as a shadow, fast as the sun's rays. But gravity is stronger than his will, stronger than his fear, and it pulls poor Wendy girl down, down, down. Each time he gets close, a gust of wind pulls him just so. Just out of reach. A bell sound reaches his ears, deeper than Tink's. Vidia.
Wendy's now meters away from the rocks. The boy can see from here how the stone is aimed right at the girl's heart, no chance of survival. She might not even have time to feel it. Peter can only scream her name as-
Captain Hook jumps from one of the rocks. In the span of a hummingbird's heartbeat, Wendy is saved from a rocky grave, tucked in the arms of the very man who tried to hurt her and her friends.
The sound of furious bells ring through the air as a squad of fairies try to attack Hook. He wraps his arms around the girl and lets himself fall into the water with Wendy, knowing that there are no water fairies in the group, and so the rest will hesitate to search for the duo below the waves. Their tiny sizes will spell a quick end if they get slammed against the very rocks they doomed the young girl to.
Wendy tries to scream at the pirate below the water, but Hook puts a finger against her lips, then one against his own. He lets her go in a show of good faith and beckons her to follow him with a slow curl of his finger. The waves are fierce and pull her towards the sharp rocks. Her dress keeps weighing her down and it isn't long before the captain grabs her hand and pulls her onward. Every minute by the second, he and her grab a quick gulp of air, then sink back down. With each gulp, the bells get farther and farther away.
The girl's legs and arms ache as minutes pass, and she counts the breaths of air. One, ten, fifteen, twenty. By the twenty gulp, her lungs are on fire and her legs feel like they're about to fall off. She is depending more and more on the captain's strength, and he seems to have no issues with pulling her along, holding the girl up every minute so she can breathe.
It feels like hours before they finally make it to shore. The rocky sand digs and shreds her knees, but they're so numb Wendy barely feels it. She tries to hold her weight up, but the adrenaline has long worn off and she can barely stand. Her knees shake. Hook scoops her up bridal style and carries her the rest of the way.
It isn't long before Peter, her brothers, the Lost Boys, and Tinkerbell and her gang all spot them, Tinkerbell and her lot being the last to join them. Hook stares at the fairies, unimpressed. Tinkerbell puffs up her chest, red as a rose with fury, and winds up her wings for an attack, only to be interrupted by Hook's cry of "ENOUGH, TINKERBELL!"
It isn't the yelling which shocks the group into silence, most of them used to the pirate's screeching by now. No, it's the desperation. The anger, the fear, and the... heartbreak? Yes, the heartbreak, which makes his voice quiver like a plucked guitar string. Out of tune with anxiety.
Captain Hook stares at the group of children and sighs. With a carefulness none knew he possessed, he puts Wendy down. Though, he puts a leg over the exhausted girl, an unspoken threat and promise to the group of fairies.
His hands shake as he removes his iconic hat, then his jacket, the same color as Tinkerbell's rage. He unsheathes his sword and, with a few expert strokes, shaves off most of his beard and a good portion of his hair. Now, the short locks curl just so at the nape of his neck, like vines reaching towards the sun.
In his waistband, another iconic headpiece is tucked into his belt. Peter Pan squints his eyes, then shakes his head, mouth agape. The cap is almost gray from age and the sun, but the lush green is still there beneath the years. The feather is not as fluffy as the one in the boy's cap, but, if you can imagine the feather in its glory days, it is a perfect match.
Captain Hook stares at Tinkerbell, the most sane he has ever been as he picks up Wendy and cradles the girl to his chest. Safe. Safe, and alive, and breathing, and not dashed upon the stones, like so long ago for him. So very, very long ago.
He clicks his tongue. Aims his sword at the fairies with all the wrath and weariness of broken decades left behind, and the threat is almost heightened with the girl in his arms. "Not this time, Tink."

I love how your extended background on the story of this song shows how someone who was once so bright and innocent can be pushed to do such things. Loss can affect us very deeply, sometimes to the point where we will do anything to not be hurt again, even if it means hurting others. Tinkerbell has lost so many friends due to a world that is increasingly no longer believing in magic, so she steals children whose laugh created them so they can never say the dreaded words. It’s not something she would have done before, but she is afraid of losing anyone else that she sees no other option than to make sure nothing gets in her way, including Wendy. The original story has the reason being jealousy, which in itself is an emotion that can drive people to make poor decisions, but I also like this alternate scenario where her decisions are a response to her trauma. I love your villain songs in not just how they sound, but in how you craft an interesting background to justify them existing. Hope to see more from you.

So I think he could easily tell that the strong wind was from this fairy, as well as she was not holding him “up” because he could still fly. So I think it would be hard to play off since she’s her friend that Tink had no involvement. She also had one attempt to kill Wendy that Peter knew about (getting shot at with rocks). So her trying to make it look like she was trying to “save Wendy” would be harder to believe.

Stakes are higher and there’s a morally grey villain that, while doing bad things, has reasons for them. Additionally even though having a one dimensional villain can be good in some ways (it’s easier for kids to understand), letting Tink have a purpose and having the fairy’s be a bigger part and making Peter be more connected to them makes everything feel more intertwined and gives neverland a more “lived in” history fillled feel

The worst part is that the “harm” she’s referring is more then just the extinction of all fairies…. People forget how important the fairies are… literally they are the ones that maintain the seasons and their magic is vital for the Neverland to continuing to exist…. Without them the Neverland would cease killing everyone in it… and with the seasons gone Earth would fall right after…… yeah it’s safe to say that Thinkerbell was dealt a lose-lose situation:
Either kill Wendy and be hated by the kids but ensure their existence or let them go and everything be gone…
And before you say: couldn’t she talk to Wendy?
      1) Humans (minus Peter) can understand Fairy language.
      2) Wendy would use that as fuel to continue to being the kids home to their families

“Tink was not all bad: or, rather, she was all bad just now, but, on the other hand, sometimes she was all good. Fairies have to be one thing or the other, because being so small they unfortunately have room for one feeling only at a time. They are, however, allowed to change, only it must be a complete change.”
      ― J M Barrie, Peter Pan
This video is so good not only because the music is epic, but it shows what this quote is talking about. How fairies are so small they can only hold one emotion at a time. So in that moment, Tink really was evil, and this could have been the outcome if she held onto that emotion long enough.

Absolutely amazing. This recontextualizes my entire view of Tinkerbell. Her jealousy and rage takes on an entirely different dimension when you consider that Wendy is not just a romantic competitor, but an existential threat. Suddenly it's not protecting her man, it's protecting her LIFE. Powerful and compelling. If only Disney themselves could re-examine their classics with such fascinating twists on classic mythos.

I love this, because it explains why we never see Tinks friends in Peter Pan beyond the real-world explanation of Tinkerbells movies being made later. Also the last scene where all the other children are being saved but Wendy is left to fall is just perfectly cruel, because she could have been saved and there was no real reason anymore to kill her, but Tink simply watched her die. Without Tinks help, they can't leave, so keeping them there is easy, and she could easily claim that her pixie dust just wasn't capable of lifting the whole ship for very long. At the end, killing Wendy was less about stopping her influence and more about punishing her for trying to interfere.

It doesn't really explain why we never see Tink's friends like 3 of them are still alive? And the reason is still there it was because Wendy was making the kids and Peter wanting to back to London? It would continue no matter what and then they'd start wanting to go back and soon enough it would kill Tink. Since canonically you lose your memories of neverland once you grow up.

    • @lemonzest6988
      @lemonzest6988 15 дней назад +91

@Lina-iv8il Peter has two arms and there's at least three kids, the odds of him dropping one by accident are too high for Peter to risk it, especially since there are faries trying to keep them there who can definitely throw him around with the wind. As for why the other three don't show themselves, it's because they don't really need to, and nothing extra is gained from it. Tink primarily just provides pixie dust and ensures they're still content, safe, and willing to stay. Peter is more than capable of handling all the 'threats' they face, so the others have no reason to interfere. As for Wendy "forcing" them to leave, she wasn't. She just convinced them they should. At this point, they'll still want to leave even with her gone, ESPECIALLY because she was killed for trying to take them home. If they can convince the other kids to overlook Tink committing murder and choose to stay, then convincing Wendy to stay as well should have been simple. But in the end, Wendy's death changed nothing.

@@undertalecomicships476 this kinda reminds me of the quote ”Ask not for who the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.” Which the interpretation often comes across as death eventually comes for us all, but the full quote also can be taken as one persons death is worse off for everyone, which I think is fitting for this animatic. The fairies are dying off, but as long as Tink and her friends’ children are in one place and never able to grow up or stop believing, she can try to save the ones she hasn’t already lost. The bell has tolled for so many fairies, but shes found a way. But all that death has left her bitter about humans (Thus she and the other fairies are worse off).
But Wendy? Wendy is in the way, unintentionally making Peter and the Lost Boys want to go home. To grow up. Tink is desperate to not let that happen, and in the moment leading up to her plunge, like what was said, all Wendy hears are bells. The same bells that chime for her death. The bell tolled for her, and the look on Peters face says it all- He’s devastated. He’s far worse off than he was before Wendy’s demise. Its all come to a full circle.

    Couple things I noticed
    1) When the first chorus comes on it's only Tinkerbell singing, but then you get to the second and there's extra voices repeating "why don't you fall" in a whisper and then the final chorus you have more voices singing with Tinkerbell
I like to think this is about the other fairies slowly joining in as things grow more desperate, with the second chorus hinting at Tinkerbell not being alone in her actions before showing the three other fairies flying with her. When we get to the third chorus they join in with her
    2) Also like how in the second chorus "why don't you fall" also starts to sound like a question, like Tinkerbell is asking herself why her actions aren't enough to get rid of Wendy
    3) Tinkerbell first appearing to Peter in her original form is an interesting choice. It might be a way to make her more "innocent" looking but her new outfit doesn't exactly strike me as off putting by itself, so it makes me think she was hopeful about her plan and things returning to "normal" with the Lost Boys. So she appears in her original form. But then Wendy appears and she changes back into her new outfit, a visual distinction from the Tinkerbell we know
Also her new outfit makes the black part reminds me of a shawl, and how people in mourning will wear black
    4) Wendy never gets to meet Tinkerbell in this. She has no idea who Tinkerbell is aside from what Peter and the Lost Boys may tell her. The first time Wendy meets Tinkerbell it's seconds away from her death.

Like that was when she found him and brought them to neverland, because 1, she reacts the same way in the first movie when she's finding the owner of the music box and a similar way when she meets her sister. It's said that the fairies know how to find what they're looking for or something like that. 2, she waves towards the two evening stars like shes saying "come on! I'll take you somewhere fun." Note that not all of the Lost Boys from the movie are here. Aside from Peter, there are only three here instead of six. While it's possible that it's only reduced to make it easier to get the animatic out in a timely fashion and the implication seems to be that Tink already lost some friends before she realized they needed the children and was only able to save three because that's who all they were able to find, imagine if they had found the six plus Peter and thought that they were all safe (all of the other main fairy girls + Terrence [or whichever other friend from the Disney Fairies series you prefer])...only for some of the boys to die, to either the pirates or other less friendly inhabitants. Sure, they'll never die of old age since they cannot grow up and they will never lose their belief in magic because they can see proof of it everyday, but now they are exposed to dangers they were unlikely to go up against on the mainland and even if they become wise to the dangers and learn how to defend themselves, their deaths are still inevitable because all it takes is one unlucky day against an opponent who doesn't play fair.

My theory is Peter is the baby whose laugh gave tinker bell her life, so because of that she's trying to keep him safe and young, that way she never has to worry about passing away like her sister did, with Peter gone she runs the risk of him passing away, and her following afterwards, that's why she's kept him in Neverland where he is under her constant supervision and will stay young forever so she can continue to live

Oh something else that i want to note is that the Fairies left are Vidia, Iridessa, and Rosetta. Silvermist and Fawn along with 'Dessa were the major heart of the group, being respectively the softest and most compassionate. Not to the say the other girls arent, but they're certainly a bit more likely to fight push comes to shove. Iridessa's talent is light, and its been used accidentally to blind others or start fires. Rosetta has prven to be very goal oriented and has a sassy side, plus if she lost her love (Sled? I think? The winter fairy boy) she strikes me as the sort to become desperate to have tried to save him. And Vidia has had a vicious streak since we met her. Plus, we dont see anything about Terrance or Periwinkle. And while Peri is probably fine as she and Tink were born from the same laugh, aka Peter's laugh, if Terrance is gone, i could see Tink being desperate enough to not just save herself, but her twin.

That's also what I was thinking why Terence wasn't there (aside from the fact that maybe he was just forgotten, tragically not being in the marketing most of the time after all). Terence was her BEST FRIEND and who knows if before all these deaths and his death that they already become a couple. That would definitely be a reason for Tink to reach this point of doing whatever it takes to keep the other remaining love of her life alive.

In addition, Terence existed before Tink, but Pan was long going on adventures before Wendy was even born (it's implied in the 1953 film that he took Wendy's father on Neverland too). Although I wanted Terence to be Wendy's fairy for the delicious irony, and it'd be such a slap on Tink's face to have her best friend die because of her, it doesn't make sense since Terence wasn't there anymore to begin with.

Now we understood why that they kidnapping children to live in the island, keeping them there so they could survive. Because mainly in humans world, there were many wars that many children need to grow up and stop believing their fantasy, that which cuase them going extinct. It's pretty scary and sad at the same time, making Tinker as a villain is pretty interesting if you think sbout it.

Since I'm estimating this is around WWI time, it's also safe to assume many children stopped believing in fairies because they were forced to grow up in order to fight in the war, or they were just too traumatized to try anymore. And hardly any babies were being born, let alone laughing, so the fairies were trying hard to stay alive as they died off one by one. The Lost Boys and Peter Pan were among their last hopes. Of course, once the war ended, and things went back to normal for at least 20 more years, more fairies joined them.
