She’s been underestimated and pushed around by men her whole life, the beast was her last straw. So when she’s locked away she makes the decision then and there to find Justice. Also because like, regardless of whether you’re ‘redeemable’ locking people away against their will is objectively wrong. Hope that helps it make more sense! Also! Omg yes this is the kinda story I’ve always wanted to hear from Belle!!! She’s literally the smartest person in town, ain’t no WAY she’s gonna forgive being locked away so easily
From my perspective, that's why a heroic version of the Mob song following a "what if Gaston humored Maurice instead of being a dick, and discovered Belle was indeed locked in the dungeon by a beast, leading the village to her rescue" would be a good way to start off heroic versions of villain songs. There is literally a point where the mob's fervor against the Beast could have been 100% justified, and at that a point before Gaston's scheming made him irredeemable. Plus you could have a whole arc with him almost getting killed by the Beast when he first visits the castle where he only survives by the interference of Belle to make him truly ingratiated to her. You could say he'd really be taking his lumps then.
I love how Belle’s appearance slowly becomes more manic and her hair begins to make HER resemble the Beast. Blatant symbolism to how she was the real monster. Haunting and still gorgeous
In order to survive the beast she had to become one herself. But tbh he deserved it. This version makes much more sense than her falling in love with the beast. Instead she makes him remain a beast to deal with Gaston and his gang.
I don't know if it's just how well done the animatic is, but I think this is the evilest princess turned villain so far. Using her brains to maximize the mental damage being done to the Beast is real psychological torture that only the most vile of people would follow through with. If there was someone I loathed, that person would have this masterpiece as their theme song
Agreed. While not the strongest Villain Princess, this Belle may be the most vile and cruel of all so far. Some of the art here makes her look terrifying.
She’s definitely the scariest, if only because of her intellect and the fact that she has no powers on her own. It gives the impression that she can manipulate anything to get her way
No. I disagree. She is only involving people that tried entraping her in a relationship, and people that harassed her. She is being rather cruel, but she was backed in a corner, forced in a situation she clearly don't want to be and was trying to avoid all her life. Moana let lots of people to die of starvation so she could get back at her father.
@@indulgencerofindulgence5970I agree. Did they take into account how she even got in that situation? She was literally trading herself for her sick Father who would've died in Beast's dungeon. Beast was also violent, yelling, using his intimidating features, and smashed things when he didn't get what he wanted. Plus the servants were trying to get her to fall in love with her captor. They were only concerned with being a human again. The most they did was ask their master to control their temper. Gaston was also trying to force himself on her more than once. Even the townspeople were in on it. They never accepted her for who she was and would ostracize her for her intelligence. Then he tried to have her Father committed to an asylum if she didn't marry him. He was also literally storming the castle with a mob in this version to get her. So we can assume her Father is already captured at this point with the help of the townspeople. No one she went after was innocent. I appreciate this take on Belle.
So true! The best villains are the ones that are gorgeous but cunning cause then you fall straight into their trap. They make you think they're innocent and harmless, but they're actually just playing you to get what they want or to get revenge.
@@HarleymotorWell, because of everything she went through, it's normal that she started to lose her mind,After all she suffers from bullying,¿Who wouldn't want to see a river of blood coming from their bullies?.
In this story I could see the curse transfer to her as well. Her dismissing of the other lives within the castle are at least as bad as that which brought the curse upon the beast to begin with, and she's messing with some potent magic. Would be a great follow up story.
Belle descending into madness and bloodthirst while retaining her intelligence is truly horrifying in comparison to the others becoming villains. When you sang "You are not worth my pity." Shivers down my spine.
Yes it's an awesome detail! I feel like it reflects her mental state at the time and changes to show her spiraling deeper and deeper into insanity. It changes to make her look more like the Beast, showing the true beast inside her.
Didn’t you know? That’s a talent a lot of women possess, our hair becomes fluffy and crazed. That’s why we use so many products in our hair, to tame the beast.
Honestly, villain Belle fits like a glove. All the things she had been through in the film, the village saying she doesn't belong there, her dad sick and Gaston taking advantage of it, her being locked and forced to talk to the beast...
Rumplestitskin would be proud of her. This is pretty much her fairytale Lacey version. ...It gets harder to want to keep some of the princesses good hearted for my "Kingdom Hearts" rewrite. Some of them are actually more interesting like this, kinda like how people find villain Naruto better (I'm not saying I don't either, I'm just saying the way most fanfics portray it isn't appealing). What if I created some sort of "3 Princesses of Darkness" and their 10 guardians thing ? And maybe I could have 4 princesses of Light with 3 guardians. Decisions, decisions... Fanfic is way more complicated than most people give credit for.
Well if she betrayed beast, she would suffer even more in her village. So it have no sense. She was to inteligent and she understood that Beast would be useful for her.
It was on my second watch through that I realized the reason why Belle let the Beast think she loved him wasn't just so he'd trust her, it was SPECIFICALLY to make him fall for her, so when she destroyed the rose and made him a true beast forever that he'd listen and obey her. She knew even as she was tormenting the Beast in his last moments of human sanity, that his love for her would keep him compliant once the rose was gone.
What an ugly love you have show me, Beast, do you think i would be moved by this? I was foolish, you know, I guess dear Gaston was right about some things,a part of me wondered if maybe you were different. And where are, with you unsightly love for a hollow facade i put forward to appease you. Did you know of my fears? That you had servants monitoring me at all times, how suffocating the feeling of being always watched was? My worry of what you would do if you ever discovered i wouldn't reprocicrate? How i hated using a persona i once feared i would have to use to appease Gaston? But thanks for the lesson, i will not let myself to fall this far ever again.
That makes so much sense. I was wondering why destroying the rose would make the beast compliant to her cause it's not explicitly explained in the animatic. I just assumed it was some random spell she had maybe found in a book that like destroying it intentionally rather than letting it wilt on its own would give the destroyer magic dominance over him or something but your explanation is way better and way deeper and more tragic
If any princess deserves to lose it it's def Belle. Harassed by Gaston, shunned by the village, choose to take the place of her sickly father and then heavily suggested to fall for beast to break his spell by the servants. Everyone used her to their own end, so her using her intelligence to strike back is just perfection.
@@Owillowwallyshe was encouraged, she was basically told by people she saw as friends “Fall in love with him else his death is your fault” not deliberately or to her face but very much implied, they very much encouraged her to talk to him.
Duuude that ending part with nothing but the sound of the clock ticking, then the absolute silence as Belle looks down at Gaston and the villagers just before she sends the beast to attack them. Absolutely haunting. The entire thing was tragic with a spooky undertone and it’s all done perfectly. These Disney princess as villains never disappoint!
I love how the artist drew her, drastically changing her design and personality like she is the literal interpretation of beauty and the beast. Like she may be beautiful and the fairest in the land but her mindset and intelligence and her cunningness is what makes her the beast.
The fact that the state of Belle's hair matches the state of her mind is awesome. It seems like the artist who drew these beautiful pictures for the video was truly inspired by Lydia's enchanting voice. 🤩
I think her messy heir kind of looked like beast's mane. This probably represent that either, she was now the beast or that she was as strong and scary as the beast.
Man, that was certainly a dark take for Belle, bravo. In the original, despite how often Belle gets called out for Stockholm Syndrome, she really doesn't have it. Everything was always of her own volition. She chose to stay there to save her father, was even the one to suggest it. She stayed because of that oath, but she always could have left if she wished, and even when beast saved her from the wolves, she could have left him there, or left him at the castle and leave. But she was kind and wanted to help him. It allowed her to begin to see there was more to him, but she never fell in love with him until after he freed her, which, by that point, the Beast had truly come to love her, as he would not keep her trapped as her family suffered and she in turn in her worry. That's what made their tale as old as time. And now we see what happens when one little twist in Belle's personality turns that all on its head. Between all the hounding from Gaston and being trapped, we see how Belle had far more arrogance in her intelligence here, using it to plan and wait for the right moment to take control. She didn't just want to make Beast suffer, but to take control and turn on all those who looked down on her before. She needed to make their punishment as violent as possible, and setting a crazed Beast on them would be far more than enough. In the end, Beauty became a beast far more terrifying, one born of arrogance and cunning to keep herself free and above all. Just seeing how wild her hair becomes and her makeup runs truly shows the cracks beneath the skin, showing just how monstrous one can become in any circumstance. Beast was a physical monster with a kind heart whereas Gaston was a black hearted monster truly set on feeding his own ego, but Belle showed herself to be a cunning monster none would suspect.
I never really thought of the original story that way. You give me much to think regarding the Princesses of Heart in my "Kingdom hearts" rewrite. This series made it difficult for me to want to see some of the princesses remain good hearted.
Also, when she learns that her father is in trouble back at the village, she leaves the castle immediately. And she doesn't really start bonding with Beast until after the wolf rescue when he calms down and starts being nice.
I disagree. I have always read it as 'man learning to be the bare minimum while trearing his 'object' of affection like well an object and having no other option (seriously his FATHER'S life is at stake of course she will stay no matter what) bows to her fate and lowers her standards. This story was written by a woman to get girls ready for marriage. 'Be clever and you might not get hurt' and 'you won't be given a choice so try to make the most of it'. Belle was coerced at the end of the day and imprisoned aganist her will. This now THIS makes so much more sense.
@@berilsevvalbekret772 actually in the story the beast was an over privileged brat who was cursed by a beautiful sorceress. He was greedy selfish and didn't love anyone. He even struggled to love belle. his servants tried their best helping him. But in the end he learned to be compassionate and understanding. That's why he released her and belle didn't want to leave. The wolf scene showed something in him that belle didn't see before. Even the servants noticed while belle and the beast started spending time together as they sang "there may be something there that wasn't there before". Belle taught him there was more to life than riches and status. She showed him how to love and how to care for others. It wasn't a man doing the bare minimum. It was a broken man who was made whole and put together by a smart and empowering woman. Gaston was the only man in the film who would do the bare minimum as he wanted to restrict belle and make her a marriage slave. but we see where that got him. (Edit; Another factor that plays a part is the fact that him falling in love isn't the only thing to break the curse the person he loves has to reciprocate that love as well. only then would the curse be broken.)
"You are nothing but a monster to me" This line shakes me to my core. With how Bella perceives others solely by how useful they are to her, this line has so much meaning. Reducing the Beast entire being to basically an animal a weapon for Bella to control, it is so evil and yet so powerful.
Belle is easily my favourite Disney Princess, her as a villain is truly a terrifying idea. As always Lydia, your work is truly both amazing and haunting. The imagery of Belle wearing the all important rose in her hair and then tearing to pieces in front of everyone is truly breathtaking, and then her seemingly having control over the now monstrous beast and setting him loose of Gaston and the men of her village, *chef's kiss* perfection.
So she has control of the beast because she is the one who destroyed the rose 🤔 Because I'd think that even if he became a true beast that he could not be controlled.... but regardless this I believe is the best one so far
i love the fact that belle gets a crazier looknas the song goes on. she was trying ti finally show who was really in charge and let the power she had get to her head
Honestly, finally someone gets she was called "The Smartest" for a reason. I mean seriously she was a bookworm, she knew how to fix things like boys, and never followed protocols. Oh and the look on gaston's face was PRICELESS. He knew there how much he just 'Fucked up' lol She has a castle to herself now, a town under her control with the beast at her beck and call. She just became a queen.
And the way she just grins down. She wasn’t even using teeth. That is a smile that instills fear in people and gives you the feeling of uncanny without even using teeth. That is a drawing achievement and the Gaston’s expression shows it.
I know Right? Belle at the end was like "Well hello handsome...looking for the Beast? It's right here in front of you. Just Look what You've made me Do"
This whole animatic was a STAB in the gut by my favorite Disney Princess…. Especially the bits with the poor servants realizing what happened. Chip, Mrs Potts, as well as Lumier and Cogsworth.. and poor Madame DLGB. 😭😭 But MAN was Gaston’s “Oh I fucked up”… face glorious!!! Take that you stalker!!
I mean in the live action remake they also lost consciousness the moment the spell reached its deadline idk if that similarity was intentional or not but it seemed strikingly similar and I love it And I feel so bad for the servants they really did try to help both of them but Belle was understandably long gone in this version
If I’m being honest, I think this is the best and most realistic princess-turned-villain out of all of them so far…the lyrics, the animatic, your voice, it’s unbelievably well done and legit gave me CHILLS 🥶
As much as I love the princess turned villains, this one felt furthest for me I mean It would make sense if Belle wasn’t so kind and wasn’t treated with hospitality But the reason she didn’t turn on the beast was because all his servants were so kind to her, insisting to give him a chance Than he even saves her life when she runs away, he didn’t have to. And Lydia even says in the description she tended to his wounds, so this still happened Honestly felt off for Belle I could see her having a villain story if beast actually died Since she did genuinely start to care for him But for her to never take pity on those who even offered her father kindness (And they did. They were very kind to her father. Only beast wasn’t) It’s Eehhhhhhhhh It’s a stretch that she would turn out like this Maybe under different circumstances If she wasn’t treated with kindness and hospitality But the story in the description shows she was?
@@fangirl3323 just how she interpreted the song. With lines like "underestimating all this time" and how Belle talked about bidding her time for her plan and going along with everyone's plan for her. But it's just my take on it.
@@lilshippoI totally agree with you! It is a tale as old as time that men assume women are delicate flowers who need shielding from anything that may influence them.
@@Sasuhinagirl1yep. Women are to be seen and not heard, especially in the time period Beauty and the Beast is set in. Their worth was based on their beauty, not their intelligence.
I love the constant ticking of the clock throughout the song. It implies inevitability - Belle was always going to decide her own fate. It was only a matter of biding her time until she could break out of the narrative her thankless community expected her to dedicate her life fulfilling.
The implication that she figured out his predicament and still doesn't care is such an important detail. "I have not spent my life reading books, my hours studying to be some prince's lonely wife...Less than nothing, you're not worth my pity." She doesn't see this growth, his change of heart, nothing. If anything, she's using it to tear him apart. Belle has gone insane.
The "stokolm syndrom version" can also be argued as insane so it is not that different. Also the defining change is after that dance when he let her go because he knows what he did is bad and she should be free to go, this beast didn't got the chance to show that so in her eyes he might just be friendly with his prisoner. The situation was extra cruel if you remember that Belle wanted to go away and a have a life full of adventure but the beast kept her in this golden cage that was his castle, it is even more sad that Disney technicaly made her a "manic pixie dream girl" by never showing if she got her dream fulfilled after marriage, her end was becoming a rich wife and that was it (nothing wrong if that was what she wanted but she didn't show that in her "I want song").
@@karentorresalfaro3371 Except it wasn't stockholm syndrome. If she had fallen in love with the beast before he set her free, the curse would have been lifted. It was only lifted once she was set free and chose to return to him. She actually ran away from the castle at one point because she was so terrified of the beast's outburst. His selfless act (yes it was selfless he almost died) showed her he had a heart. Also, no she's not a manic pixie dream girl either. She didn't try to "fix" the beast. Her kindness influenced him to change.
@@EndlessPiplup I know it technicaly was not stockholm syndrome but the situation was not acceptable at all, she was a prisoner in a golden cage, the situation only became more acceptable after he let her go but everything before was him technicaly being frendlier to his prisoner, is not as if he really cared for human lives before when the father might have died in the dungeons or he said she could starve if she was not eating dinner with him, her captor, he saw her as a valuable prisoner first and as a person second, of course he became better (still will not trust someone with his violent tendencie) but if a man would have come instead of a girl the situation would have been pretty different because he has no use for a man. She is a manic pixie dream girl because she fix the criteria at not fulfilling her dream in the end, she wanted to go away and have a life full of adventures, she said that in her "I want song" just before a cruel turn of fate with the hostage negociation left her imprisoned in a castle with a beas who kidnaped his father and a lot of talking objects that would have definetly lied to her about his master if that helped her fall in love with him.
@@karentorresalfaro3371 The beast STARTED THE MOVIE like that. He was AWFUL in the beginning, and I'm not arguing that. What I'm arguing is that the beast did change. Yes, he was originally "decent" to win her over, but the shift came when he gave his life to save her. The entire dynamic shifted between them. He didn't give her the library as a bribe, he did it because he wanted to make her happy. He actually cared for her, and she began to care for him. She chose to return after the wolves, and was free to run away when she initially ran off. She could have done it again if she wanted to, and he knew that. She could have left again, but didn't. Him releasing her was more of a formality.
Oh my fiddlesticks, the thumbnail is terrifiying and very gorgeous at the same time. It really captures how Belle is sick of all the mistreating she got and "It's my turn to show them who I truly am" vibe. I CAN'T WAIT!! Tale as old as time always is one of my favorite classic Disney song, but I know this will also be a great!
I think that the scariest part of this is that you don’t even have to change the story. There are a lot of these princess villain songs that require a certain amount of alteration to the movie. But this one doesn’t really need that, which makes it all the more amazing.
OMG THANK YOU! I’ve felt the same way! For all the others it’s like “what if x-thing happened that caused this” for this song it’s instead “what if belle’s personality was narcissistic?” Just that small change makes this song happen and that’s what makes it so much more terrifying (at least for me)
@@Marta_2025not really that belle Is a narcissist more like she just hit her breaking point after all she went through and got tired to be kind or gentle, especially with the beast
I've repeatedly seen the 2:06 part... I just love how I can hear "Tale as old as time" on the background as Belle looks terrifying yet beautiful while singing her part, how the beast is just that for her... A beast. It is like the perfect balance between beauty but a monster. It's truly one of my favorite princess villains right now.
What really got me was the transition from the music of “Tale as Old as Time” to “Kill the Beast”. Not only is the imagery amazing, but the composition is incredibly clever.
I love that you can see the second that she starts convincing herself to kill them. She starts crying and calling the beast unworthy of her pity, almost as if convincing herself.
The straight up fact that instead of Belle killing the beast and putting him out of his misery, she destroyed the rose while torturing him, made him a beast forever and once the curse fully took over, she used him against Gaston and the village. Not to mention that the feelings for the two main characters are everywhere! You can feel Belle’s anger and relief BUT you can also feel Beast’s pain, sadness, and betrayal. 🥺 The music is amazing, the emotion is everything, the animation is beautiful. Lydia, well done. You’ve killed it once again and I’m absolutely in love with this. ❤
*Alternate: BELLES VILLAIN STORY:* Belle has always been the smartest person in her village, perhaps even the smartest person in the province. But she never held that against anyone. Even when everyone in the village thought she was strange and spoke about her when they thought she couldn't hear, she did her best to simply ignore the whispers and get lost in a book instead. Of course, it bothered her that people spoke about her but as long as she ignored them they were harmless. Until they weren’t harmless anymore. Belle began receiving advances from men that couldn’t even hope to be her match. Arrogant, brainless Gaston hadn’t so much as picked up a book since he was a child, how could he possibly think she’d marry him? Following this her father was kidnapped and Belle imprisoned in his place by a terrifying Beast. But no more terrifying than the beasts in her books. Belle isn’t someone you want to get on the wrong side of, especially when it comes to her family so did you really think she would go quietly? After all the suffering she had endured at the villages hand? Well, this is where our tale differs from the original and our version of Belle doesn’t take kindly to being locked away. And she certainly doesn’t take kindly to those mistreating her father. She isn't in a forgiving mood and so hardens her heart and makes a different decision. *And so our story follows a similar trajectory to yours,* _expect there is no rose & no weird deadline for the beast to be cured._ Locked away, Belle bides her time, playing the part of the perfect little prisoner, getting along with her guards, nursing the beast's wounds, putting up just enough of a fight to make it seem realistic. _Belle doesn't want to just be married off. She doesn't want to just be some house wife, a prisoner, a pet. She sees the riches, the magic, the stories surrounding the castle & the beast inside and decides she will have it all, not as a wife but as queen. SHE WILL TAKE IT._ And so Belle tricks the Beast and the castle's inhabitants into thinking she was falling in love with him, _making him fall in love with her. In secret she use her knowledge from the books she's read & resources in the castle to brew a potion to put the beast to sleep. She puts the potion on her lips, telling the beast that she will be the one to give him true loves kiss._ _The beast closes his eyes and leans into the soft embrace of the girl he loves, believing that when his eyes open he will be returned to his natural state, returned to his kingdom, all with the girl of his dreams by his side. As he opens his eyes, he finds himself in the same dungeon Belle once found herself in, collar round his neck & still a monster. Belle towering over him, preparing to take her kingdom._ Soon no one would mistreat her or her family ever again, they will be too afraid. They will never underestimate Belle again. Soon everyone will see Belles true strength. _The beast little more then a broken pet, used to display her power._ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “What a genius plan Truly, did you think this through? I love the subtle detail of Gaston showing up then, when she would have been dancing. It means Marice didn't get ignored and Gaston listened when he said bell was in danger.
One thing I noticed watching though again. Belles design is much more sharp and slim then her Disney counterpart. This conveys straight away her malicious intent and her mischievous plans. Great job on the animatic’s creator!
This actually explains A LOT about beast-adam's freak out when Belle almost touched the rose. "DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU COULD HAVE DONE?!" They never said it but the action and emotion was all you needed. If the rose was damaged? The curse would speed up. Gotta say, if there was ever a great depiction of Belle becoming the monster she loaths? This is the best take. She's been so strong for so long but now she can't anymore. Strong, kind, and compassionate people have a breaking point. This is belle's.
That was amazing, your voice is amazing, the animation is impressive! I'm happy to be part of this incredible piece. Thank you! I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I do!
I'd say, I'm kind of glad that Belle decided to plot her revenge against the people who ridiculed and mistreated her and her family for so long. And I'll bet that even Gaston will be too afraid to underestimate this woman ever again. But I still feel kind of bad for Belle in this AU story.
I feel bad for Beast as well. Bratty as he was, he got cursed and punished when he was just a mere kid and isolation doesn't exactly one mature. He didn't deserve this.
@@hadibendakji3858 Exactly. Belle never deserved to be mistreated by Gaston and those other villagers. Unfortunately, both she and the Beast in this AU never got their Happily ever after...
What do you mean, you bet Gaston will never underestimate this AU's Belle again? He'll never get another CHANCE. Going by that last scene, he won't live long enough.
Bro, even if we remove the mains (Because Belle choose to do this, do feel a bit bad for the beast tho) WHAT ABOUT ALL THE SERVANTS THAT GOT PROPERLY TURNED INTO FURNITURE!
2:06 Keeping the original lyrics in the background during the end is genius-they take on such a different meaning in this context. "Tale as old as time Tune as old as song Bittersweet and strange Finding you can change Learning you were wrong Certain as the sun Rising in the east Tale as old as time Song as old as rhyme..." She has learned to be ruthless, and that her previous ways of kind/letting cruelty slide was "wrong"-it never changed how others treated or saw her. She is certain of her new path, and unstoppable as the sunrise. Absolutely amazing.
This is superb. It doesn't sound like a parody, or like lyrics just pushed a little towards darkness, it feels like a completely new song for a new character, with a faint gleam remembrance of someone we used to know a long time ago. Lydia's voice is the coup de grâce of it all. This makes me want to either play such a vile yet amazing Belle or to write an entire play adapting this into a full story.
Woah. I'm...floored. I was expecting "Gaston kills Beast and Belle gets revenge" but this...this is a true villain. Like, there are some villain songs that you have created that feel villainous but are ultimately achieving some good. Aurora, Cinderella, Merida, and so forth are all sympathetic in their own way to the point that you are still rooting for them. But this...this is different. Belle has lost her sanity. She's someone so angry with being mistreated that she has completely snapped. Her compassion, her love, it's gone now. She not only hurts the Beast, but takes immense pride and satisfaction in watching his humanity be stripped away and toying with his life like a plaything. The irony of Belle calling herself beautiful at this point is also really clever. The whole point of the film was that she was beautiful because of her heart, not her looks. And the newly created monster with no humanity follows Belle's order to attack the village because Belle's heart is more beastly than his. This may not be my PERSONAL favorite villain song, but it is the most fantastic one yet. I don't know how you not only turned such a kind person into a monster that I genuinely fear, but did it in a believable yet downright evil way. This isn't a tragic anti-hero, this is a monster. And I couldn't be more satisfied.
i find it interesting that theres a very clear emphasis on the color of gaston and beast's eyes being blue here when bell was comparing the two as "I've seen this before". She views the two men as the same, both just wanting her as a prize and means to an end. She's too bitter to see that beast has actually been staring at her with tenderness in the beginning, unlike gaston who only saw her as an object. She recognizes that he's fallen for her trap, but she thinks it's only bc she seduced him, not bc beast genuinely changed and grew to love her bc he thought she was kind and gentle edit: I think some people misconstrued what my comment meant. I wasn't trying to say she's not justified in planning revenge, or that the beast wasn't in the wrong for initially forcing her to be with him, i was just pointing out how in the animatic, there seems to be a thematic emphasis on both men's eyes being blue, and that i think this was meant to show how belle saw them both: oppressive men who just want her for something to gain, that even if one of them seems to have changed in his ways she doesn't see it as incentive to forgive and love him bc of all the pain she's been caused by both of them in the past (which is honestly valid when it comes to trauma/abuse, you don't have to forgive the other person even if they're truly sorry and changed). This wasn't meant to morally point out someone was in the right or not
You have one of the first comments I've seen talking positively about the beast. Most are only saying about how this version of Belle is powerful and free, some even talking shit about the Beast, but the people who are saying this are missing the point entirely. For me this AU is not an empowerment fantasy, is the tragedy of a girl who let her traumas get the better of her and blind her to the love and tenderness of the beast. She mistook his desperation and solitude as him being another one of the monsters who sought to take advantage of her, but in actuality, just like her, the beast is a very troubled individual who for the first time since his curse felt like a man again. Only to get that trust crushed and be betrayed by the person who made him feel again, and turned into a mindless weapon for her vengeance. In the end who can't see this as a tragedy is pretty much blind to the story unraveling...
@@fvardona I think some of it is the double standard of how society views Abusive women. No, Belle is not a girl boss here she's an abuser. Honestly though I always thought Disney's Belle actually was quite full of herself. I don't think Disney intended it but her strolling around looking down at all the townspeople and scoffing at them. Also the whole her not getting that she was interrupting the townspeople she tried to talk to when they were working. Belle was always kind of suck on herself. So I love how the animatic actually made this a character flaw that overtook her good points.
i think it is more complicated then that though.... he forced her to stay, it gets even more complex that he eventually let her go, but honestly either reaction seems realistic. it's kind of hard to forgive someone who kept you hostage, let alone have a relationship with them, it is controlling and lashing out towards that is normal. it's not so much a double standard, because if a man or other gendered person was kept prisoner over a rose to try to get them to save you, is in itself problematic. yes they found love in the original, but the reason people have varied opinions about it.... i mean he forced her to be his solution before he felt anything for her, the same way that Gaston wanted her for profit@@alorapendrak9752
Belle's always been 1 of my favorite Disney Princesses, so this is a scenario I've been trying to avoid since it came out. But DAMN the lyric's are how I view Gaston!
We gotta love hair being a symbol of mental breakdown/spiral. Her transformation through her hair felt very ironic to me, especially the use of “I’m the beauty, your the beast”- slowly through it all it becomes wild, unkept, *feral* just like her. She’s still intelligent but she’s turned into a predator- a beast disguised in beauty.
Wow. This truly is terrifying. While Belle doesn't have any powers, she has something even greater...her intelligence. If she truly turned evil, she might be the most dangerous out of all the Disney Princesses.
I mean, Elsa. She did untold damage and cost untold lives to starvation as the byproduct of repression. Mulan also seems like she would be more dangerous on a personal level but Belle could definitely do more widespread damage if she wanted to.
I like that throughout the song Belle gradually becomes like a monster in appearance, loose hair like a mane and streaks of makeup create a frightening look.
Hauntingly Chilling. The layers to this make it so good. The Beast, by this point in the story, had genuine feelings for Belle beyond desperation to break the curse for him and the servants within the castle. Belle, her sanity snapping after feeling used and trapped, being more than intelligent enough to manipulate the Beast to this degree. Both stories are believable, and so the emotional impact comes from both sides. The air of doom coupled with the haunting melody. The decay of Belle's facade of sanity matched with the closing of the trap, the level of her madness matching the Beast's despair step-by-step, all the way to their final transformations. The last moments of humanity in the beast's eyes, terrified and heartbroken, was the sadistic cherry on top. The last bit - the unleashing of the True Beast? It doesn't matter if Belle is in control or not. It doesn't matter if he obeys or turns on her. She's beyond caring about that at this point. The madness has settled in, and the True Beast will do what any person driven to insanity by despair and bitterness wants, as their goals are the same. They will burn the world to feel its warmth.

Minor detail, but I love how at 2:42, the curled up beast looks like a heart while Belle's hair surrounds it, somewhat representing how Belle effectively shut her heart away from everybody because of how much she had to put up with, but also how the Beast, without the rose, is nothing more than a heartless monster, now under the control of the princess that chessmastered this whole event.
A truly heartless monster would have killed belle too and i think that would have been a more solid ending. What happens when retribution and revenge is taken too far. Too many people with revenge/murder fantasies out there for minor offenses like derogatory slurs while they give actual murderers and torturers a pass because he had a 'poor background/upbringing'. Thats a terrible excuse.
@LilyUnicorn If the rose is finished, the monster will eat Belle and the monster will end up struggling with the villagers. But what is interesting is how Belle preceded them by using what distinguishes her, and this made the ending more attractive than what would happen if the monster turned into a merciless monster. Belle obtained justice in ensuring the safety of her and her father, but what she says has nothing to do with This matter, I mean, for that reason, I do not think that everyone who loves a murderous character supports him while he wants to kill the bullies as well. As you can see, Hasna did not care about the words of the villagers because they do not represent a threat, like Cassie Hack, who did not give a face to the bullies who hated her, but she got rid of the serial killers because they kill teenagers and those in Her class and the bullies as well
Honestly, being smart while stuck in a town that hates you and doesn't give much opportunity to grow makes it easy to instill a shit ton of rage into someone. Underestimated, abused, and harassed. The only person on her side is her own father who suffers from the town's hatred as well. Villain Belle makes so much sense, especially if you add in just a bit of magic study and this storyline is perfect. She was literally given the tools to destroy him BY him. So much knowledge in his castle and too much bitterness in her heart.
That ending was brilliant! She tamed the beast so well during her imprisonment that when he was stripped of his humanity, the beast still remembered who it loved. Who it serves.
This version of Belle is so terrifying to me... Beauty And The Beast is one of my favorite tropes when it comes to romance and I've already watched more than once the original movie. So seeing this, is both so creepy... But it makes so much sense too. Belle could be described as two things specifically: Smart, and kind. She isn't a damsel in distress at all, but rather a girl who is underestimated by her love for knowledge and much rather prefers that than married life. Until she meets the Beast, the first "man" who didn't shame her for liking reading, encouraged to read, and didn't force her to marry him. She lets herself be imprisoned, and falls in love with him because while she's smart, she's still a good hearted person who lets her feelings and morality guide her. That's why she's so scary in here. Because she isn't that much different from her original version, original Belle could've done this. This is nothing but Belle snapping. Stopping to believe that things could ever be better, and rather taking things into her own hands even with cruel ways. And after all, this is Beauty and the Beast's meaning: Looks are deceving.
In my opinion, she is a very different Bella from the movie. Her main characteristic in the movie was her empathy and kindness, which she doesn't have here; It is possible that this Belle is more traumatized by Gaston's harassment, so Belle saw that Beast wanted her as a trophy just like Gaston and unlike the movie, the scene with the wolves did not exist when Beast saved her, so she does that Belle would never see the goodness that Beast had.
@@comparsa1 Yeah, from what I can see in the animatic ,she decided to "act" from the start. So it's possible that rescue never happened or that she used that to tell herself he only wanted her to break the curse ,not because the Beast loved her.
I feel like this is a Belle that embraced a more Machiavellian mindset. She’s intelligent, she’s cunning, and she’s been subtly using and manipulating the people around her to get what she wants. She’s been planning and calculating this the entire time she’s been trapped there, looking for something to use against the Beast. The imagery of the chess board at 2:36 really plays into and speaks to this mentality, and I absolutely *love* it. She may be 20lbs of crazy in a 5lb bag dressed in a ball gown, but those bags are full of just as much intelligence. In a way, that would make her the most dangerous Disney Princess turned villain of them all.
I’ll be honest, watching these Princesses taking over the magical elements to their tales and being selfish with it humanizes them more than if they were sweet and flawless. Deep down everyone wants to feel unstoppable and these villainous Princesses brings that to mind perfectly. Très bien Lydia. 🥀
Mirabel used her family dynamic to kill them all except for Antonio and Bruno (She'd still have a soft spot for them, so she'd spare them from destruction. But if she didn't think to spare them, Bruno could've just Juggernauted out, and Antonio's animals would likely help him out). Anna used her sister's unwillingness to kill her as a weapon. Mulan used misogyny and the Mandate of Heaven against China to raise an army of peasants. Peasants angry at their rulers really worked against China. Merida used her anger, her archery skills, and wisps to take down her father. Cinderella used her FG to crash the prince's wedding and take him out (I view the ending of her video as her taking him out as she knew what he was up to). Anastasia used Rasputin's demon thingy to begin an absolute monarchy. Yeah, I'd think they became unstoppable
Wait what if someone wrote another villain verse, but Belle is the old lady that first gave the rose that cursed the prince and now that he never found someone to love, she came back and claimed the throne for herself? Also, amazing cover!
1:38 _omg_ this whole part is so good!! 😲💕 especially about belle not wanting to be trapped and _"i have not spent my whole life reading books, my hours studying, to be some desparate prince's lonely wife"_ omg?? 🌹
you know this part made me realize despite being the smart one. That canon Disney movie never did let Belle do anything that showed actual brains. Heck, she reads fairytales and she couldn't figure out the castle was under a curse? The plot required her to be left in the dark the whole time. So the intellectual never actually asks any questions and is easily distracted by everything.
@@alorapendrak9752 um ACTUALLY belle does figure out the castle is under a spell pretty quickly, she mentioned after the _be our guest_ song that “i couldn’t possibly sleep now, it’s my first time in an enchanted castle!” what belle didn’t know was how to break the spell, she does get curious and goes into the west wing and tries to touch the rose, but she didn’t know loving the beast would break that spell. i do like how in the live action they made belle the inventor and tries to keep girls in the village how to read, but they took away her love for fairytales and replaced the book with Romeo and Juliet? :/
An enchanted castle isn't the same as a curse. I got the impression she understood the castle was magical but she never figured out she was here in hopes she'd break the curse. The plot just wants her really blind. Which I get but it does kind of take away from the intellect factor. The plot needs her to be a certain way so she can't be too smart. @@lovelyjuliexo I actually liked the Romeo and Juliet thing the writers clearly were mocking the character but Belle is a French girl so her being able to read Shakespeare despite it being in not her first language is fairly impressive.
When she slams the book shut on the rose, the crazy smile is deliciously evil. Belle has every right to become the villain. And to throw in the upbeat verse was awesome. Probably my favorite part of the song even though the whole thing was just amazing! In my top three favorites of yours for sure
I fucking love noticing the fact that as belle slowly falls deeper into her state of madness her hair gets more thicker and unruly similar to the prince in his beast form almost like she herself is now the beast. I geuinely love how this feels less like redemption and straight up just a spiral into becoming so much worse.
Story Tyme: Belle stands at the castle balcony, watching as the villagers try and fight away the beast. Fire burns as Belle's face holds a beautiful yet sinister and insane smile. The beast continues to go haywire, destroying any ounce of life he sees. Belle walks back inside the palace, sitting down at the Beast's desk and flipping through the spell book. The screams of agony fill Belle's ears as she listens as if it was music in an orchestra. But soon, the screams die down and the beast pounces up onto the balcony, growling and scratching the floors as blood drips from his golden fur. "Aww, there's my puppy." Belle cooed, beckoning the Beast closer. The Beast inches closer, his paws creating heavy padded footsteps before he sits infront of the woman. Belle smirks, petting his head and scratching his chin. "Are you done?" Belle asks the Beast. The Beast, of course, doesn't respond nor react, simply licking his paws clean as his mentality is fully reduced into a feral, animal-like state. Belle smiles at this, continuing to pat her newfound pet before going back to her books. This was all just the beggining after all.
Gosh, this is an excellent idea! She just used beast as an animal to get rid of her village. I also imagine her trapping in the basement and threating the villagers to let him out if they dissobey her. But....what happens to Belle's dad? Wasn't he in the village too? I'd like to imagine she brought him into the castle and also threated those who hurt him with the menance of letting the Beast loose.
Yeah, no. Gaston kills the Beast with the help of dozens of villagers. They storm the castle. Belle is hanged. End of story. Sorry to burst your bubble, but my take has a far, far higher chance of happening.
@Ares99999 it's fiction, every possible outcome has 0 chance of happening naturally because writers exist you're just writing an alternative continuation, not a more likely one and the other is more thematically appropriate to what's being continued
Omg I love the new story here, Belle is a freaking genius and is like ‘yo imma embrace my badassery and show you what I can really do, no more holding back, no more apologising for being a goddamn genius’ Also you are so right, if someone’s gonna lock me away THERE AINT NO WAY I’m gonna forgive that. As soon as I’m out it’s straight JAIL. Especially after all the ways she was mistreated by Gaston when he wanted to lock her down in marriage. it’s no surprise that when someone tries to PHYSICALLY lock her down she snaps. There’s no opportunity for love here, you’re gonna feel the pure wrath of belle, she’s not holding back anymore. You messed with the wrong book nerd
OH MY GODNESS, this was an feeling hard to put into words, Belle is truly Eerie and scary, she used Beast love and feelings to backstab him on his most waited day of his life, and the strenght you put on your voice... the tone, and the animation with an way more serious trace... it's truly Beauty for an Beauty beast (in a good way)
This is a perfect example of what happens if you force someone intelligent to use their knowledge for evil. It's an excellent video and the song has an energy that makes your skin crawl.
What I love about the Animatic is not even three seconds into the video and you can already tell that something's off, especially with how Belle is drawn here. Almost every frame she's in, she's drawn in a very unsettling and unhinged way. She also reminds me alot of Lucien from The Arcana as well as Toffee from Star vs. The Forces of Evil, especially at 0:41. I can't help but think of his ✨️SUPRISE✨️ face everytime I watch that part. Well done! ✨️👍🏻✨️
The storyline.. chiefs kiss and the thumbnail is gorgeous yet scary at the same time. Belle was probably one of my favorite Disney princesses and I’m so glad your doing her!
My favorite song. I love Bell's change from the polite and laid back girl to the girl who wants revenge on the beast and the whole town. She gets wilder and more calculating. As she destroys the rose I get shivers all over my body. Simply a masterpiece.
It's beautiful and powerful at the same time. Yet sad because it's like Belle went mad with the power she had. So now she'll let the beast tear apart the village while she rules his castle with her own hands.
I think it’s the opposite though? Belle never had power, she’s always at someone else mercy. Gaston, the village, the beast. Sure the beast is a good person at the end but everyone around her wants her to fall in love and break their curse. Remember Belle dreams of adventure, though she reads romances as referenced in the movie. Belle only sings about her wanting to see more of the world. Then her ending is literally living in a palace with a prince. That’s not an adventure, Belle, while she loves him only started looking for love when she was trapped with no one but sympathizers of the beast. While it’s sad she feels so trapped her situation is exactly that. She’s trapped with expectations that shouldn’t be hers and are instead force upon her
Belle is tired of being left out by the village and is tired of Gaston trying to get with her, and Beast losing his temper, so her anger gets in the way and she isn’t holding it back basically turning her into the Villain of the story when she never wanted to be but she couldn’t take anymore so she became a Villain🖤
And she'll die, since the OG story makes it clear Beast would have had no chance without the people of the castle - who are now inert objects and can't help. Gaston nearly killed Beast on his own, and now he's got a small army at his back. But then, it IS a villain song, and its clear by this point that Belle has snapped. It's not going to end well for her, and it's not supposed to.
My jaw dropped at the beginning and kept staying there. At, 2:10, I suddenly noticed that there were secondary vocals and went back when they started. I then realized how you were using parts of the original lyrics, and their new meaning. Beauty and the Beast is my fav Disney movie and song, and I LOVE AUs, so I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!!!
I must say, I really love this take on Belle! She's tired of being seen as an object for someone to have. The town thinks she's weird for her intelligence, Gaston doesn't care for her beyond her beauty and in the end tries to force her to marry him. Even to the Beast and the other furniture of the castle, she was seen as only a means to an end: to break the curse the Enchantress put on them all so long ago, the love part only ever coming second. In this, she's refusing to be an object of someone else's story. A pawn to be used on someone else's board. She uses her intelligence and cunning to get what she wants, and taking out everyone who dared to try and put her down in the first place. It almost makes me wonder if she truly could be considered a villain if she's lashing back out at everyone who used her.
Yeah, she is TRULY a villain. Yes, the townsfolk were gossipy and found her a bit weird, but she on her side found them simple, tedious and boring to be around. Even her first song actually showed a level of contempt for the village. If Belle was looking down her nose at the 'simple' folk, then you can't blame them for not being all that warm to her. The Beast was cursed because he was rude when he was a kid, and the people of the castle were cursed for... being there. It was a completely disproportionate punishment, and they were really desperate by the time Belle appeared. Despite this, most of them were genuinely kindly and immediately tried to curb the Beast's inflexibility. Gaston was a jerk. No questions. Her father Maurice was always loving and supportive. He'd be appalled at what Belle did here. So, yeah, she's a villain. Let's not attempt to make her anything else.
@Ares99999 THANK YOU , I like this idea of Belle, but it makes no sense unless you change major aspects of her story. Even in the worst-case scenario, she wouldn't behave like this. She may be tired of being seen as an object but not to the point of murder. At most ,Belle would use her intelligence to escape without the beasts knowledge
@@idiotthatdrawsakaartistI myself have a pretty dark theory about something Gaston may have done to Belle in this version of the story, something that could explain Belle’s change in personality. One particular part of the video sparked the theory.
@@DeCryptid23 Exactly the scene I had in mind!!! And since it next shows the Beast holding the despairing Belle in a jar, maybe she thought, because her broken mind sees Beast and Gaston as the same, that the Beast would do the same to her, and that’s why she kinda broke and did something so cruel. She wanted to make him hurt the same way she was hurting.
"I have not spent my life, reading books, my hours studying, to be some desperate princes lonley wife." like, no you aren't girl. And then she says "you're all idiots for thinking you can make it out of this alive." My favorite line for anything.
Kinda funny because that kind of statement really says "I am really bad at judging social status". Becoming "some lonely prince's wife" would secure her wealth, fame, and power - and the ability to read as much as she likes, as well as give her a lot of leeway when it comes to breaking social norms BECAUSE the prince is lonely and would want her to stay. Only a fool would reject a loveless marriage to someone with high status that's smitten with you if your current status is not only a lowly peasant, but also a social pariah and outcast without the resources or credibility to achieve anything.
Ofc Belle used the Beast to attack Gaston and the village 💀 I saw that coming a mile away soon as Belle was announced LMAOO. I WAS LITERALLY WAITING FOR IT. I also love how these AUs really got everyone in their feels (me included) cause we see the kind hearted heroines we love turn into the most vicious people which makes it hard for us to root for them even if their reasons for doing so is understandable. It’s still like WOAH. Like at the end of the day, they’re still villains, but WOAH. I’m also such a villain fanatic and most of the time I’m always rooting for the villains in these AUs. But THIS ONE??? I don’t know man, Belle really went the VILLAIN villain route. Like irredeemable at the level of Merida, Mirabel, and Anna but ten times worse 😭.
This is by far the best Villain Princess song. It is so good. The storyline is amazing, it really goes over what a slightly deranged normal person would do, and not marry the beast but take revenge on him. The music and lyrics are amazing, really emphasizes what Belle’s goal was. This is also really different from the other princesses because magic isn’t really what Belle is using to take revenge. Yes obviously the Rose is magic but she is killing the Rose, not the Beast. She is using just her intelligence to take down the entire kingdom by recognizing the Rose is what is keeping this Kingdom together, and by killing the Rose, she unleashes the beast. It’s really brilliant and honestly this was so nicely done. The Artwork, Music, Lyrics, Stories, etc. Props to everyone who worked on this and definitely a nice stopping point to give you time to work on other projects
This is the most tragic thing out of all the Villain princesses. I understand Belle's resentment, but the cost is a weighty one. All the prince's servants are permanently furniture now and she's gonna treat the Beast like a pet at best and a future fur rug at worst. Big yikes but also: awesome job as always!
Exactly, as much as I like her finally gaining the upper hand. I cannot help but pity the servants. First they get turned to furniture due to their spoiled master, and now they are gone.. 😭
To be fair they also used her for their own interests…. If it had not been for her potential to break the curse…. Beast would have left her in the dungeon. So her resentment is absolutely reasonable here.
@@purevenus6359 Ehhh, I'm still not sold on this. I kinda understand the servants. If I was stuck as furniture and soon to be doomed, everyday I'll be like, "please let this be the girl." As for the beast, he was harsh and had anger issues. But I don't think he would've really let her rot away in the dungeon, considering that he's capable of change. Belle went mega villain. I would've tried to help him (considering that he saved me from being eaten by the wolves) out of human decency. Idk. Dang, villain Belle. You scary...
@welcometothesaltyspitoon He literally told her that she could starve and that if she didn’t eat with him she doesn’t eat at all. Sure, he’s capable of change…. But he was only capable of it towards her initially because he saw her potential to break the spell. Otherwise, beast was ruthless. As personified how he treated Maurice (Belle’s Father)
I really want to see Alice's villain song. It would probably be insane like she's slowly becoming like the queen of hearts. Edit: I just wanted to say that this is the most amount of likes and comments ever and I just wanted to say thank you♥️
Oh If its Alice from the movie It might be even better, like The Hatter died in that war and she snaps cause the only other person who she could relate to there and didn't activily want her to fight dies. She snaps and chaos ensures.
As American McGee's Alice and Alice Madness Returns exist as games with a twisted and traumatised Alice that could fit the villain song...I dunno how a song could work without an impression of deja-vu when you know the game licence. But I'm still curious how it could work ^^
i think its what happens to the servants that is most chilling to me because while some had played part into trying to matchmake and convince her to be with the beast you have kids like Chip and countless other servants and their families among the transformed whos only crime was to be employed to or living in the castle with the prince at the wrong place wrong time and get caught up and punished too in the consequences of his actions and now again by another they get looped in and forced to take the punishment of others this time to a point of death (i'm assuming thats what was being implied? if its that they are fully becoming the objects and don't even get to keep their consciousness anymore that's even more messed up) by Belle choosing to destroy the rose in her revenge. Amazing job on the song! One of my favorites from the set.
Well,In her state Nothing else cares; Besides If i was One of them I Will be Angrier With Beast than With Belle, Cause he was The one Who makes her became mad in first place.
3:00 - the end. Belle: Now excuse me while I go see if my guests are here. (walks to the balcony and sees the angry mob lead by Gaston). Right on time. Gaston: (to his mob) Take whatever booty you can find, but remember, the Beast is m-(sees Belle) Wait what? Belle? I thought you were captive. Belle: (smiles evilly) Yeah. About that. Both this castles 'booty' and this Beast is mine. And don't think I'm unaware of all the times all of you called me or my father 'odd,' 'strange' or 'crazy.' Or your plan to throw my father in an insane asylum for delusions that- as you can see- were real! Who's the crazy one now, you arrogant ass?! Lefou: (scared) Would it help if we said 'sorry' and let him go? Belle: No. I'll worry about releasing him. You have bigger problems. (signals the Beast, then turns back to the villagers) Beast: (Attacks the villagers). Villagers: (runs away) Gaston: Maybe I should've tried marrying someone else. Bimbettes: You think?!
3:08 perfect moment of victory .This series needs to be highlighted and fanfics created for it because the style is not only great in terms of the art, but how it shows how evil the character is in a logical way, as it changed small details in an interesting way. I really love the villain princess version
The song is amazing, duh. But can we talk about the emphasis on the eyes just like in the original disnay animation? And her hair and teeth slowly becoming beast like? The animator did a fantastic job
This is sooooo good!! This is by far my favourite villain song you have made. It makes so much sense for Belle to go this route because I mean c'mon, you trap someone in a castle and except them to fall in love with you? There are so many little details I liked here from Belle's many MANY expressions 0:41 being my favourite to the line "I've seen this before" really highlighting the similarities between Gaston and the beast (side note Gaston's face at 1:05 is just soooo incredible) to then the flashbacks to Belle trading herself for her father and pointing out the stupidity of the beast's plan. Also this might just be me but this song felt way more in your face then all the others with Belle calling them "idiots" and saying things like "then by all means have your fun with that". Your voice is amazing as always and Luck_Buggy really deserves praise for this beautiful art style as well as @FrostudioChambersonic completely killing it with the music.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I'm reaaaaaaally mad at myself at how much I'm loving Gaston's look: sinister yet lavacious. How dare Lydia make him go from "I hate him" to "you have piqued my interest" so quickly for me. 😂
I'd pay to see a movie where Belle is both beauty and the beast, just like this! I am in love with this storyline, this song, and the villainous twist to Belle! This is truly a work of art!
Everyone is complimenting the video and saying how belle has the right to be a villain (Which is true), but no-one is talking about the objects AKA PEOPLE who did nothing wrong and were cursed for no reason. Poor chip too! He was only a kid. Also, good video! Keep up the good work!
I love the ambiguity of the final animation, with the shadowy beast erupting from behind Belle and filling the screen. Her setting the Beast to attack the villagers? The Beast, no longer having any human feelings now that the curse is permanent, turning on her and devouring her? Or a metaphor for her sinking into her own arrogance (pride in her intelligence) and falling into the same 'becoming a monster' trap that Gaston and the Prince both fell into before her? Also loved the wild hair and facial expressions she has throughout the video.
Someone mentioned a theory that Belle made sure that the Beast fell for her so he wouldn't turn on her. She didn't just earn everyone's trust, she took the Beast heart and changed him. I think if the Beast was his old self, he would've lashed out at Belle even if he was in pain, but here his eyes show so much anguish and betrayal it's legit painful. Like there's not even a hint of anger, he's just so devastated. It's an interesting metaphor but I'd like to think that Belle and the Beast were parallels to one another. Belle who descends into madness for revenge, a girl who kept quiet and polite despite her intelligence and despite the abuse and the Beast going from a foal hearted boy to a Beast whose heart grew as a man bc of Belle. I also like to note that Gaston and the Beast had the same eye color but I just adore how they drew them. The utter love the Beast has in his soft gaze vs. Gaston's predatory gaze. And I think Belle has been so used to Gaston's eyes and many others looking at her in such a way, she sees the beast's gaze as the same as all the others. Most of what Im saying has been said before in this comment section but I just love them! Finally there's this one comment about how this is a tragedy for even Belle, bc in her madness and lust for revenge she didn't notice that Beast genuinely loved her, rather than saw her as an object to own. She lost the other person aside from her father who loved her not bc of her looks, but simply bc he really loved her, thought they found a connection and wanted to change for her. The one person who endulged her love of reading and listened to her. Like what saddened me the most was this moment was just prior to the moment when the Beast let her go, giving her his last connection to the outside world; the mirror, and being depressed about her leaving to the point he didn't even have the will to fight.
This gives me such Once Upon A Time alternate storyline vibes. Especially for season 5. Cause Belle had been harassed by Gaston, sold to Rumple, locked up in isolation by Regina for years, then suffered through always being second choice to Rumple's darkness and being treated as naive and lovesick by the other characters. It would have been cool to see her become the dark one because she had every right to be. This song gave me that vibe.

Also to anyone confused with the storyline - it essentially boils down to the fact that Belle hardens her heart at the start and refuses to see the beast as human because he locked her away and mistreated her father.
Also! (Me again) I’m not trying to say that anyone who enjoys this tale is wrong to! It’s a really fun film! It just has a few flaws as all things do!
I’ll stop there I swear I have so many thoughts about this story I could go for hours 😂

Once we see the video tonight, we’ll understand perfectly because she’s my favourite character since I was eight
Yeeeeeeees, Belle isn’t taking any shit from anyone! First Gaston, the villagers and now the Beast?? Absolutely not, straight jail now
Omg yes this is the kinda story I’ve always wanted to hear from Belle!!! She’s literally the smartest person in town, ain’t no WAY she’s gonna forgive being locked away so easily
YES YES YES, this story is everything, Belle truly said f*ck around find out
From my perspective, that's why a heroic version of the Mob song following a "what if Gaston humored Maurice instead of being a dick, and discovered Belle was indeed locked in the dungeon by a beast, leading the village to her rescue" would be a good way to start off heroic versions of villain songs.
I also saw her in like a reverse role of the sorceress who cursed best.
@@xElvirax I dont think the beast deserves it tbh.

It gives the impression that she can manipulate anything to get her way
Belle is truly terrifying
No.
I love how she still looks the part of villain while still looking gorgeous. You don’t have to be an ugly witch to be evil!
But 2 things,She is now terrifer And You want to help her even if you know its your sure death.
So true! The best villains are the ones that are gorgeous but cunning cause then you fall straight into their trap. They make you think they're innocent and harmless, but they're actually just playing you to get what they want or to get revenge.
I love how this continues the original’s theme not to “judge a book by its cover”. She’s may look beautiful, but there is so much beneath the surface.
I mean... it was shown how she taught him to read and how he gave her access to a library. Her smartness was never overlooked.
It’s not her smartness they’re referring to, but her cruelty. She hid her dark nature behind her beauty and let them underestimate her..
Would be a great follow up story.
what do you mean? she is the perfect woman. Smart, beautiful and powerful
Belle descending into madness and bloodthirst while retaining her intelligence is truly horrifying in comparison to the others becoming villains.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how her hair becomes fluffy like a mane
Yes pls
Yes it's an awesome detail! I feel like it reflects her mental state at the time and changes to show her spiraling deeper and deeper into insanity. It changes to make her look more like the Beast, showing the true beast inside her.
Oh yes, she became just as much a beast as Beast & the rest if the castle staff we’re consumed by the magic
Yes, that was a magnificent detail! The irony of the beauty also becoming a beast in her own right was illustrated in this brilliant detail.
@@JabamiLainI need
And Gaston being a man want to own her and that what she think the beast I doing
Yeah, she barged into the Beast's castle and was imprisoned, sure but the title "villain" doesn't sound right
Well if she betrayed beast, she would suffer even more in her village.
You just made this animatic 100% better with this explanation! I didn't even think of that!
@@indulgencerofindulgence5970❤
I was wondering how she managed to control him afterwards and that makes sense!
I love how Gaston's facial expression went from "Oh yeah" to "Oh shi-"

Everyone used her to their own end, so her using her intelligence to strike back is just perfection.

But The thing is,¿Can they still salvageable?
The fact it was *Cogsworth* ticking as well...
Not only that, in a couple of shots it seems like some of her hair frames her head like a thorny crown or horns.
See 1:39 for example.
I think her messy heir kind of looked like beast's mane. This probably represent that either, she was now the beast or that she was as strong and scary as the beast.
@@ladygalakxia7502Or maybe she was the REAL beast here.
Geez! She's just like a... oh my i cannot explain it
"You are nothing but a monster to me"
This line shakes me to my core.
Ikr!?!?! This is like, her best work yet! Ahem, in my humble opinion that is 🎉

If I’m being honest, I think this is the best and most realistic princess-turned-villain out of all of them so far…the lyrics, the animatic, your voice, it’s unbelievably well done and legit gave me CHILLS 🥶
As much as I love the princess turned villains, this one felt furthest for me

And Lydia even says in the description she tended to his wounds, so this still happened
Honestly felt off for Belle
I could see her having a villain story if beast actually died

@@Sasuhinagirl1yep. Women are to be seen and not heard, especially in the time period Beauty and the Beast is set in. Their worth was based on their beauty, not their intelligence.
I love the constant ticking of the clock throughout the song.
It implies inevitability - Belle was always going to decide her own fate. It was only a matter of biding her time until she could break out of the narrative her thankless community expected her to dedicate her life fulfilling.
tick tock
*Alternate: BELLES VILLAIN STORY:*
Belle has always been the smartest person in her village, perhaps even the smartest person in the province.
SHE WILL TAKE IT._
And so Belle tricks the Beast and the castle's inhabitants into thinking she was falling in love with him, _making him fall in love with her. In secret she use her knowledge from the books she's read & resources in the castle to brew a potion to put the beast to sleep. She puts the potion on her lips, telling the beast that she will be the one to give him true loves kiss._
_The beast closes his eyes and leans into the soft embrace of the girl he loves, believing that when his eyes open he will be returned to his natural state, returned to his kingdom, all with the girl of his dreams by his side. As he opens his eyes, he finds himself in the same dungeon Belle once found herself in, collar round his neck & still a monster. Belle towering over him, preparing to take her kingdom._
Soon no one would mistreat her or her family ever again, they will be too afraid. They will never underestimate Belle again. Soon everyone will see Belles true strength. _The beast little more then a broken pet, used to display her power._

I love the subtle detail of Gaston showing up then, when she would have been dancing. It means Marice didn't get ignored and Gaston listened when he said bell was in danger.
And then he looks up, sees her and his eyes go wide.

Not really subtle if he showed up at the end tho
Which makes no sense given the context of everything

One thing I noticed watching though again. Belles design is much more sharp and slim then her Disney counterpart. This conveys straight away her malicious intent and her mischievous plans. Great job on the animatic’s creator!
or maybe the artist simply draws the thin characters that way
@@Tibial5667 not really, Belle so far has the sharpest features than the rest
Yeah she looks kinda manic and manipulative from the start.
This actually explains A LOT about beast-adam's freak out when Belle almost touched the rose. "DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU COULD HAVE DONE?!"
They never said it but the action and emotion was all you needed. If the rose was damaged? The curse would speed up. Gotta say, if there was ever a great depiction of Belle becoming the monster she loaths? This is the best take. She's been so strong for so long but now she can't anymore. Strong, kind, and compassionate people have a breaking point. This is belle's.

@@ceinwenchandler4716yeah I agree
Bro, even if we remove the mains (Because Belle choose to do this, do feel a bit bad for the beast tho) WHAT ABOUT ALL THE SERVANTS THAT GOT PROPERLY TURNED INTO FURNITURE!
2:06 Keeping the original lyrics in the background during the end is genius-they take on such a different meaning in this context.
"Tale as old as time
Tune as old as song
Bittersweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong
Certain as the sun
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme..."
She has learned to be ruthless, and that her previous ways of kind/letting cruelty slide was "wrong"-it never changed how others treated or saw her.
A true reimagining.
The way she still used pet names towards the Beast. This so good.
i find it interesting that theres a very clear emphasis on the color of gaston and beast's eyes being blue here when bell was comparing the two as "I've seen this before". She views the two men as the same, both just wanting her as a prize and means to an end. She's too bitter to see that beast has actually been staring at her with tenderness in the beginning, unlike gaston who only saw her as an object. She recognizes that he's fallen for her trap, but she thinks it's only bc she seduced him, not bc beast genuinely changed and grew to love her bc he thought she was kind and gentle
edit: I think some people misconstrued what my comment meant.
@@fvardona Agreed.
THE WAY THAT SHES SLOWLY TURNING INTO A BEAST WITH HER HAIR AND EYES IS SOO SOO SOOOO GOOD
Wow. This truly is terrifying. While Belle doesn't have any powers, she has something even greater...her intelligence. If she truly turned evil, she might be the most dangerous out of all the Disney Princesses.
Maybe not the most dangerous but the one people need to be most weary off, considering some could obliterate everyone with their magic
@@JoshuaA1307 *wary 😁 weary means tired. everyone gets those two mixed up.
I mean, Elsa. She did untold damage and cost untold lives to starvation as the byproduct of repression. Mulan also seems like she would be more dangerous on a personal level but Belle could definitely do more widespread damage if she wanted to.
@@twinkacast Elsa doesnt really count as a princess shes a queen
With this logic, Belle is the Batman of the Disney Princesses.

As you can see, Hasna did not care about the words of the villagers because they do not represent a threat, like Cassie Hack, who did not give a face to the bullies who hated her, but she got rid of the serial killers because they kill teenagers and those in Her class and the bullies as well
@@LilyUnicorn
But I feel that this touches a sensitive chord, and you expressed this when you heard about Beauty’s revenge on the monster 🤨
Belles smug smirk is so just giving “oh, what’s wrong? Am I not pretty anymore?” And her black lipstick is just so 😙👌
Honestly, being smart while stuck in a town that hates you and doesn't give much opportunity to grow makes it easy to instill a shit ton of rage into someone.
Who it serves.
such a powerful song, it made my heart sink thinking of belle being like that, and the song portrayed it so well, my heart kinda broke for the beast.

“I’m not trapped in here with you, you’re trapped in here with me”
In my opinion, she is a very different Bella from the movie.
Not at all,Cause some people Saya She was under a thing called,"Stockholm syndrome"
I like that as the song went on she slowly went from being a great beauty to being more a beast in a woman’s form
😮
Or like the twisted tale, where the enchantress is BELLE'S MOTHER
I just love how Belle is drawn in this, it’s so uncanny and I love it! It really tells a lot about her character in this version!
1:38 _omg_ this whole part is so good!! 😲💕
especially about belle not wanting to be trapped and _"i have not spent my whole life reading books, my hours studying, to be some desparate prince's lonely wife"_ omg?? 🌹
Right?? I've relistened to this part so much, it just makes her seem so badass and the rhythm of the scene is perfect
you know this part made me realize despite being the smart one. That canon Disney movie never did let Belle do anything that showed actual brains. Heck, she reads fairytales and she couldn't figure out the castle was under a curse? The plot required her to be left in the dark the whole time. So the intellectual never actually asks any questions and is easily distracted by everything.
@@alorapendrak9752 um ACTUALLY belle does figure out the castle is under a spell pretty quickly, she mentioned after the _be our guest_ song that “i couldn’t possibly sleep now, it’s my first time in an enchanted castle!”
what belle didn’t know was how to break the spell, she does get curious and goes into the west wing and tries to touch the rose, but she didn’t know loving the beast would break that spell.
i do like how in the live action they made belle the inventor and tries to keep girls in the village how to read, but they took away her love for fairytales and replaced the book with Romeo and Juliet?
Story Tyme:
Belle stands at the castle balcony, watching as the villagers try and fight away the beast.

She’s trapped with expectations that shouldn’t be hers and are instead force upon her
@@pillerhikaru1 you're definitely not wrong
@@pillerhikaru1This clearly shows that she always suffered from Stockholm syndrome.
@@Ares99999Not at all,Cause She Also can be an Anti Villain And i think The true Villain Is Beast.
@@dianawilson7385 Yeah, I kinda got that impression around 1:05

I’ve heard some theories that Belle’s mother was actually the enchantress who cursed the beast, and I feel like this goes along with that.
Indeed.
Props to everyone who worked on this and definitely a nice stopping point to give you time to work on other projects
the smug look she gave Gaston at the end was perfect

Edit: I just wanted to say that this is the most amount of likes and comments ever and I just wanted to say thank you♥️
Yes I liked my own comment it's because I have low self-esteem in my comments.

Any song in that movie could easily be turned into a villain song tbh.
But I'm still curious how it could work ^^
@@Miki_peachyes I agree with Alice villain song 😊
i think its what happens to the servants that is most chilling to me because while some had played part into trying to matchmake and convince her to be with the beast you have kids like Chip and countless other servants and their families among the transformed whos only crime was to be employed to or living in the castle with the prince at the wrong place wrong time and get caught up and punished too in the consequences of his actions and now again by another they get looped in and forced to take the punishment of others this time to a point of death (i'm assuming thats what was being implied? if its that they are fully becoming the objects and don't even get to keep their consciousness anymore that's even more messed up) by Belle choosing to destroy the rose in her revenge.
Amazing job on the song! One of my favorites from the set.
Yes. When I saw the servants becoming the objects forever I was so sad 😢
(signals the Beast, then turns back to the villagers)
Beast: (Attacks the villagers).
Villagers: (runs away)
Gaston: Maybe I should've tried marrying someone else.
I'm writing that
Everyone is complimenting the video and saying how belle has the right to be a villain (Which is true), but no-one is talking about the objects AKA PEOPLE who did nothing wrong and were cursed for no reason. Poor chip too! He was only a kid. Also, good video! Keep up the good work!
“Thought that we’re a match.
Sweetheart I am far smarter than that.”
Give me chills.
2:53 the way Belle looks in this shot is absolutely sinister. I love it
1:45 is when its started getting so good it deserved a grammy
I feel like Belle is the one who became the beast in the end in this version. Makes you think what people can truly be capable of, if you ask me.
“Less than nothing you’re not worth my pity” gave me chills I love this🖤
3:07 that face screams "You like krabby patties don't you squidward" levels of smugness
Omg the flow into Kill The Beast and the way Belle's makeup and hair gradually made her more beastly... delightful
I'm pretty sure the implications are that the beast attacked the villagers
Def one of the most creepy and creative villain songs of all time! I loved this animatic so MUCH ❤
This gives me such Once Upon A Time alternate storyline vibes.
That was so dark & frightening, that the whole song gave me goosebumps. I applaud to you singer & the animator who put this together 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
That flower just keeps coming back only to be crushed again lol
Ikr lol 😆
