Something I find sad, is that some people don't know the meaning of this piece. A man dieing, on the brink of his life ending, and finally, the curtain falls... And he is greeted by the dead, the broken, the beaten and the damned, and he is welcomed into the march of the dead.
Yea, honestly I never give 2 fs abt the lyrics of songs, for me the song's meaning is always carried through the melody. Music is language less and you don't need words to convey emotion. Putting that aside this song reads like a goddamn poem. Under every song you can find someone calling it a masterpiece mainly cuz of personal preference but this is like a legit one
It's also sung by the people who are in the black parade, saying that they know they led lives that may not have been glorious, but they don't care, because in the end they carry on in death anyway. It also tries to comfort the guy by saying that the world may be cruel, but that he should define his death how he wants to, not hy anyone else's standards.
sooooo much to unpack...from the 'kiss of death' that lukas gets at the end (can't believed i'm today years old seeing THAT for the first time.), to the fact that the song was dang near prophetic, my mind is officially blown.... thx for the privilege enjoying your gift, Bob. RIP and carry om...

This along with Teenagers were the first MCR songs I heard, and when I got deep into liking the band, I had really bad mental health issues, and I used to cut and try to end it all. What stopped me was the chorus of this song. It reminded me that no matter what, you will be remembered, and I think that pulled me out. Today, I am three years clean.
that's amazing to hear! i know i'm just a stranger on the internet, but i'm really proud of you for getting clean! congratulations! mcr is awesome and it saves lives. i feel like it's working on saving mine right now, it just gives me so much hope and makes me not feel alone in the chaos that the world and my mind are. we'll carry on!

“Basically, it’s never been accurate to describe us. Emo bands were being booked while we were touring with Christian metal bands because no one would book us on tours. I think emo is fucking garbage, it’s bullshit. I think there’s bands that unfortunately we get lumped in with that are considered emo and by default that starts to make us emo. All I can say is anyone actually listening to the records, put the records next to each other and listen to them and there’s actually no similarities.” But tell us how you really feel, Gerard? “I think emo’s a pile of shit.”

I'm still called emo at school👍👍
Right? The musicality and production of this
Something I find sad, is that some people don't know the meaning of this piece. A man dieing, on the brink of his life ending, and finally, the curtain falls... And he is greeted by the dead, the broken, the beaten and the damned, and he is welcomed into the march of the dead.
Look up this song Time by the Impures
Cx
I jus know my death wont involve gerard way so that pretty much sucks .. didnt wanna live but now I dont wanna die either
Wow.. Thanks for putting it up..

Rest in Peace, Bob Bryar. Your memory will definitely carry on.
Shut up and stop trying to cram current failed parenting issues with past music. Obviously you suck at be a mom
