Nothing can make a father more proud and happy than sitting around and having a conversation (and laughing) with his adult children knowing he helped create them.
My FIL had a moment like that the other day. My husband, our two children, FIL and his wife and my husband’s brother all went out for dinner and he just looked around the table and beamed with pride. He said “this is so cool - this is all because of me”
I’m 3.5 mins into this podcast, and already I’ve seen JP laugh more than any other podcast I’ve seen him on. If that alone doesn’t illustrate the magic that children bring out in parents idk what would. It also clearly shows how much JP’s kids mean to him, which is one of his most endearing qualities. All though I am older, from this point on I translate him (JP) as my father substitute. If only all of us could grow this mind set the world would be a better place.
I love that Jordan gave julian all the books that promote psychedelic experiences...as a native who has experienced our peyote ceremonies it's definitely an experience that opens you up to the different realities around us..
It's amazing to see such clear proof that all he talks about the way he raised his children and how much they appreciated it, is 100% true and not just talk. So inspiring to see it really is possible to lovingly and conscientiously raise your children and have them return those feelings!
Yeah I wish people realized that no one cares what they have to say! Too many people have way too much of a voice ! Pipe down ! We don’t need your mouth !
Nicholas Joseph's - if you don't care what they say, why are you here? Do you have so little in your life that you have the time to seek out people you don't want to hear and then take the time to comment?
I love and respect Jordan Peterson so much and this was a great opportunity to see his “soft” side. This man is a success in all ways. It’s nice to see him interact with his children-the respect they have for each other is evident. ♥️
I adopted you as my "dad" many years ago when I first came across you. I needed a strong, healthy male influence. My father was abusive, then absent. I've since mended my relationship with him and have completely forgiven him. Your work for the most part (along with psychedelics, shadow work, spirituality and a few other brilliant individuals and their influence ...) has helped me work through my resentments and victim mentality. It was so beautiful to watch you with your children. I am so grateful for you...thank you for all that you've done for me and many others.

@@JordanBPeterson Will you talk to Bernardo Kastrup one day? He is the champion of "analytic idealism" and has interesting views on metaphysics, science, religion etc. He recently talked to Jonathan Pageau. He has also talked to John Vervaeke.
Yes exactly, showing love and teaching morals and ethics to your children is missing for many families. Also I think Canadians are less materialistic than the USA.
Sad that it's a rare thing tho right? But agree 💯. There is no greater feeling than to know you have raised smart healthy articulate happy children. Now go make us some grandchildren!!!!
Thank you, doctor jordan peterson for being the father I never had, teaching me to be the father I never could, to the children I never thought I would deserve. For three years I've spent 4 hours per day studying your lectures, reading the sources you've suggested, moved and moving the stones of my life and others around to our highest potential, though it's not all successful, it's all from the heart, I finally live a life of truth and confidence in my potential.
I love your comment ❤️ my dad died 3 years ago (yesterday was the anniversary) a couple of days before Father’s Day 2019. The day we buried him was the 48th wedding anniversary. He was so loving, funny and so good to us… I can tell you, keep learning and growing as a father, it changes the lives of your children. I have my own family and my husband is such an excellent father too. Fathers protect their family and makes us feel safe. I feel so rich and fortunate to have being raised by my father❤️it has protected me in so many levels.
@@rclc161 idk man, you’re going out of your way to click on RUclips videos of someone you don’t like (also probably haven’t met), and taking time out of your day to comment negative things to elicit reactions from other people to get into arguments on the internet. That’s pretty weird, and not very tough, either.
I don't think I've seen this much laughter and happiness in any of Jordan's interviews. You can tell how much he cherishes his family. Remind me of his statement ; "every moment you get with your family, cherish it.....". It's so delightful to see him smile so much.
Jordan is filled and overflowing with thoughts of depth and this can often run the line of overwhelmingly serious. Julian is able to take his father‘s words of wisdom and frame them within comedic form without demeaning the message or removing the depth. It’s a joy to see a father and son in sync to this degree.
My impression is Julian is just as smart as his father, his focus is more joyous and humorous. Definitely the funny Peterson. Like his comeback to JP's comment about writing "horrible poems about children". Not afraid at all to laugh at himself. Mind you JP is pretty humorous. Like his comment "lawyers are useful, in their proper place".
God *I* felt proud of Jordan seeing this. He must feel blessed, and lucky, and satisfied with his own parenting skill. My new highest goal in life is to raise kids that competent and good
This just shows such a tender side of JP, you can tell he's just beaming with parental pride and unconditional love for his children. It's endearing to see him laughing and smiling with them.
1. It absolutely warms my heart to see JP and his children together like this. 2. I love to see how many ways Julian takes after his dad, but is completely his own person. Great job all around, Petersons. Family goals right here.
I always wondered about the son, Julian’s absence from the “scene”. And to find out he is just as intelligent and balanced as his dad, makes me appreciate even more what Jordan has to say. What a civilized, respectful and intelligent conversation between daughter, son and father.
As intelligent and balanced as his dad? I am laughing hard! If by intelligent and smart you mean a miserable misogynist that stupid people admire then I agree, his son could definately be that. btw both look more like transexual men with huge incel vibes. No hate agaist transexual men, allthought the comparison really offends them, most of them transition in order to look like men...
I've also wondered about the absence of Jordan Peterson's son and, to be honest, drew unflattering conclusions about it. To find them here, on this video, discussing work that they're doing in partnership is a surprise, but a happy one. Jordan respects his son's intellectual independence and his desire for privacy and so that family works in happy conjunction with each other.( presumably Mrs Peterson exercises her independence too!!!) Not mentioning Mikaila's presence is not judgemental, she's put herself out, publically, and doesn't need some stranger to validate her.
An he TRULY means it. I honestly think he choked up at first realizing he's on video with both of them at the same time. Jordan Peterson is a good man, a wild man, but one that might be worth listening to.
The amount of love in this room is insurmountable. It's literally drowning positivity. The vibe just seems the highest level of purity I ever saw with my eyes.
I loved watching the interaction between daughter, son and father. The respect and love is so obvious . They are totally at ease and enjoy each others company. The laughter and banter is pure delight. I will watch this again .
I wish so much that my family could talk like this and not have intellectual posturing and putting down each other. It’s a turn off when intellectuals feel they must highlight their superiority over others. It’s hurtful to relationships.
As a father of three this helps me see what I'm striving for: A healthy relationship with my children. Not without sadness or suffering but being there for them in the good times and the bad.
I have such respect for Julian already--his humble nature and unwillingness to become public until he truly felt he had something to say. Much respect.
I want to be this kind of father to my children one day, having these kinds of conversations and laughs with them. What an inspiration you are as a man, Dr. P ❤️
You can’t be watching reality TV every night while they are in their rooms being indoctrinated by insane people on the web and TikTok. Giving them something productive to do is a big part of it.
Children bought up with emotional intelligence and love are a delight. To have someone like JP in their family is a win win situation, how rounded are his children. A delightful podcast .... thank you .
Hi Dr. Peterson, I’ve been pursuing my psy.d in clinical psychology for 4 years now and it’s been extremely difficult but worthwhile. You’ve been someone I continually look up to and model in many ways. I do put my own personal twist into all of it. It’s been an interesting experience finishing up my 20,s and entering into my 30’s. You’re lectures; interviews, advice and books have been a grounding force for me during this time for me navigating growing into myself. I truly love the man I’m becoming and love you’re emphasis on taking care of the small things in your life. You can’t take on the big things in life if you’re not taking care of the small things first! If it means anything, I just want to let you know that I’ve been rooting you on throughout all the hardships and hurdles you’ve encountered as a result of you being unapologetically authentic and courageous. You haven’t been alone through it. You’re a great man and have done good for humanity. Thank you!
Your comment is SO inspiring! I've not trusted (nor had any good experiences with) therapists for a very long time. What with our colleges & universities churning out radical Iiberal ideologs, they transfer their political stances onto their patients & judge them, instead of trying to actually just treat them. Even reading the comments on their OWN websites is terrifying at times. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors. (& clearly I need that editing program they were talking about!)
The greatest marker of Jordan’s success is that his family can sit down and have a loving and intelligent conversation with each other with no sense of the potential that the conversation may go sour.
In doing some reading about the topic many children of psychologists end up slightly neurotic since their parents want to “fix” or study what they see as broken. What their relationship seems to be based on is what JP said his marriage was based on which is trust. They seem to have been able to discuss things with him and he seems that he spoke with them and not talked at them. To see the love for them in his face is beautiful.
Jordan completely lights up when speaking with his children. They are beautifully unique and equally as brilliant! Jordan is such an amazing person. Enjoy that bliss!💕
As great as I thought Dr Peterson could be as a public mind, seeing him in a relaxed environment as "Dad" has completely reconceptualized what my idea of "great" is.
It's wild seeing how Jordan interacts with his kids. So much joy, laughter, intent listening between all of them. My own father never laughs with me. There's no joking, no levity. These three are so utterly at ease with each other, it's beautiful. I really wish I could have that.
Just be grateful your father is around. I say that with love. If your father isn't abusive and has provided for you throughout life, be grateful, be endlessly grateful. ❤️
All smiles watching this. His son wanting to reach his goals by his own merits. Not on his father's name. Super respectable. His kids being so well adjusted is indisputable proof Dr. Peterson knows what he is talking about, is a good person. If he was a piece of shit like his nay sayers insist, it would be magnified in his kids.
Sorry I can’t agree. Mikhaila has been riding on her father’s fame from her first appearance in the public domaine. I think I first saw her on Joe Rogan and it was an awkward interview because Joe had to feed her replies to his questions. I think Julian is of more substance.
Such a wonderful family. Jordan, it is obvious how exemplary of a job you’ve done building your relationship with your children. I strive for the same with my family. Thanks for sharing this conversation (along with your amazing lectures/interviews), it stands out as very special.
Jordan and Mikhaila, thank you so much for "capturing" Julian and making him do the podcast. He is absolutely precious and delightful. So quick and witty. He plays off the two of you so beautifully. And you, Mikhaila, laugh at your brother so much it's wonderful to see. In fact, I've never seen so much laughter on your podcast. That's the beauty of family gatherings that are healthy--lots of laughter and good natured teasing. Who knows us better than our siblings.
Honestly didn't know anything about his children, so thank you for clarifying this is his daughter lol...was incredible to watch...I have a very deep son..and I'm a deep thinker, I now know what my kids have had to deal with😆😆😆😆😆
Love your work. You have been a consistent, positive influence in my life. From homeless 5 years ago, to nearing the purchase of my first house. Thank you. I wish you and your family all the best. Also your son has the coolest name 😋. My name is also Julian.
I've been long time Peterson fan, ever since he stood up to campus ideologues, and this is my first time seeing Julian. To many us JBP was the missing or lacking father figure and role model in our own lives . It's so inspiring to see what good parent and children could look like. Something to hope for and dream for. Thank you as always.
This was an absolute treat to see all 3 of you together. Please do a podcast with Tammy included and discuss family structure, marriage and raising kids pleeeeeeeeeaaasssse!!!
What a nice healthy relationship. So good to see both dad and son laugh together. Son expresses his own thoughts. Good parenting. Congratulations to you both.
This made me smile so big in the first 2 minutes. Watching you as an organic family, you allowed me in your house for a brief moment. Thank you for risking being vulnerable. It was noticed and made me happy. Respect.
What a great son. He loves his dad. I get the feeling he’s been watching Jordan carefully and patiently. He seems to quietly observe his dad. He knew things about his father that his sister didn’t. I’m so touched by that. It must have been lonely for you going through the sicknesses without complaining. I’m so happy you can spend more time together now. Bless you and your family
Makes me thankful for mine, we can sit down like this and make fun of each other, reminisce, and ask how each of us are doing. Birthdays, holidays, and get togethers are amazing, and I feel bad for those who have terrible families. I really do.
I have 4 children. To sit and bask in their presence one day like this is a dream. Right now they’re between 2 years old and 9yo and I’m homeschooling so I’m “in the trenches” and it’s hard to see down the road. When I see you and your adult children enjoying fellowship this way, it helps me tilt my chin up and see down the road.
Respect for homeschoooling four children, it's not easy, hang in there. I was a family support worker and I always tried teaching my families that relationship building is more important than parenting styles and perfection. Playing with your children, while letting them lead the games, sitting and listening to them, sometimes without jumping in with advice and admonition, and living what you want them to become, will do more to create positive future relationships with them than anything else.
I made it out:) Absolut bliss to have the deep love and respect of your adult children! We had a very, very difficult son for 8 long teen years, troubles galore!, he came out if it at age 23! Don't give up!! Love wins the battle!! (... and love yourself too!) Blessings to all parents in the trenches!
Wow, this kid is intelligent, funny, articulate, and so centered and grounded...and so zen also...I'm super impressed!!! Great job, Julian! Great job, Peterson family! ...(lucky specific wife, btw! hahaha)
I love watching parents delight in their children at any age, and seeing Jordan delight in his adult children is no exception. Really special! His children have been shown how to walk around ideas, to poke them with a stick, to really think things through. So beautiful to see their joyous exchanges.
He adores his children, it is apparent and a pleasure to see them interact. His son carries many of the same mannerism as Dr. Peterson and you can tell his daughter is a daddy's girl. I love the mischievous inside looks of love the children gave each other when their father would speak. They are an extremely close family, what a beautiful thing.
Man, that moment when Jordan and Julian were talking about Julian taking a step back during their family sickness - you could definitely tell it's been a point of frustration for him, and a point of regret for Jordan that they couldn't focus on him the way he may have needed as a young kid, but that through grace, will, and strength Julian somehow overcame the unfortunate necessary neglect but that both at some point have probably reconciled over it. Methinks it's also related to why Julian said "We don't think the same." Fascinating family.
I absolutely love love love this family...I also have a Philosophy/English Literature degree and this humour and family dynamic just makes my heart sing....they are so very authentic and loving. I wish everyone could learn from this family. I also watched the other video with Mama Peterson and Papa....another lovely wonderful video. Thank you Petersons for sharing your family life with others. You are a God send!
I've taken in countless lectures, met you in person and changed my life. I went from a worker drone to a multi-site supervisor. I've gone from living with my parents without direction to becoming a homeowner. But here, you've upped the ante and raised the bar without even knowing it. If I get the chance to be a father, this is the new gold standard on what that looks like. Julian, your album is fantastic, but you need more songs! I played along with I Can See on the piano and I can't even play piano. Great vibe!
This is the kind of family I think most people envision or hope for when deciding to start their own. Loving, loyal and necessarily imperfect in the way that makes the relationships stronger. Congratulations, Petersons.
I've never seen J.P. happier than this, surrounded by his kids, sharing laughter and joy with them. What a great episode this has been. Thank you, Petersons. P.S. I would love to see an episode like this with Tammy included. Such a beautiful yet interesting family with so much to give.
Wow the respect between people in this family. Each time they falter the other two have their back. ❤️ And how they provide context... A well oiled machine.
It's beautiful to hear so much laughter. I also like the fact that Mikhaila has no problem admitting she does not know the meaning of a word instead of pretending she does. This is a great example of a functional family.
I find myself genuinely laughing along, and closely listening. I wanted so much for my own family; my parents and brother, to be like this. I have this same blueprint in me - but sadly my parents were pathological, and my brother was an abuser, a manipulator, and a bully toward me. I both withdrew to a magical interior world, as I fought and out-maneuvered my family. I survived, but it sold most of my life out. I’m alone now with no close friends and thousands of miles away from my family who I went no-contact with five years ago. My interior life is more free than before, and my relationship with the world is uneventful, as I need it to be. Most people are off-putting to me in general, but I could be in the room with these three and I know we’d click.
Hey there stranger, just wanted to say I really get that feeling of longing I suspect we both share from watching this lovely family going back and forth, and enjoying each other's company. Here's hoping you'll be able to start your own lovely family, filled with genuine love.
I've had times in my life where I've had no friends, it was hard for me as I think I'm naturally an extrovert though with introverted tendencies. Try to seek out a few friends... I seek out super kind, intelligent folk.. they are all I can handle. Much like these three. You can do it slowly but surely, soon you will have found your little tribe. Procreate if you can, family is great. I hope you can create your own happy community. You've made a HUGE start (the hardest part) by cutting out the toxicity.. now see if you can bring in a little love :)
Perhaps You might be surprised at how many other people have a similar story, and reaction to this video as well. Count me in this number. Anyone else?
I’m in a similar situation to yours, I just went no contact with my family and I’m very lonely. We need to find each other and make a small family of lonely, isolated folk together! ☺️
Damn I wish I had parents who had taught me how to negotiate. You two are SO fortunate to have been born into such a supportive & thoughtful family situation.
Wow these kids are smart. Jordan should and is clearly extremely proud of them. It really is amazing to see a father so happy to interact with his family.. this is what society should idolise.
This has been so enjoyable to watch. It's great to see the side of Dr. Peterson that is a normal everyday person. Trust me, he's not fallen off his pedestal. It somehow puts him up a little higher. I've never seen him so happy. He seems to smile with his whole being having this conversation with his children. He's a very proud father and the love between them shows! Very nice indeed!
“And if you think your life doesn’t depend on your words, you just don’t know anything about words.” How beautiful. This sentence of Dr. Peterson reminded me of so many hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) on controlling the words and being careful with what you say. 'Uqbah bin 'Amir (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), "How can salvation be achieved?" He replied, "Control your tongue, keep to your house, and weep over your sins."
@@elektrotehnik94 I pondered this morning about some of the rules that Dr Peterson has mentioned in his book. And I could remember when I was reading that most of them are required in the characters of the believers. Take for example the second and the third rules, “treat yourself like someone u would be responsible for helping” and “make friends with people who want the best for you”. Both of these are great rules known by a lot of Muslim children! See, this is verse 195 from the second chapter in the Quran, Allâh the Greatest says: ﴿وَأَنفِقوا في سَبيلِ اللَّهِ وَلا تُلقوا بِأَيديكُم إِلَى التَّهلُكَةِ وَأَحسِنوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ المُحسِنينَ﴾ [البقرة: ١٩٥] (195) “And spend in the way of Allāh and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allāh loves the doers of good.” And he says in the third Surah: وَلا تَقتُلوا أَنفُسَكُم إِنَّ اللَّهَ كانَ بِكُم رَحيمًا [النساء: ٢٩] “And do not kill yourselves [or one another]. Indeed, Allāh is to you ever Merciful” - And as for the rule of being friends with people who are good and want good for you, prophet Muhammad -Peace be upon him- says: "No one of you becomes a true believer until he likes for his brother what he likes for himself". So in Islam, we are encouraged to be good and want good for our brothers (which includes friends in Arabic), and this is so beautiful. So many people say that Jordan Peterson is Muslim without being aware of that 😆 And yeah, I believe that he is so close to being a Muslim, all he needs to do is believe in one God, and bear witness that Jesus was nothing but a messenger from our Lords and that Muhammad is the last messenger. I hope that what I said was beneficial for you : ). 💎
@@THANA_III thank you for sharing your Koran teachings. I read it via a library book I obtained post 9/11. I was inspired and devastated in one. I have to say, I’m still deeply moved by what I just watched. Never before has a video or podcast on RUclips had such a profound impact on me. This wasn’t about the information being discussed-at least not for me-because my mind was busy with something way deeper this time. First of all, I’ve followed Mr. Peterson for the past three years. I’ve seen almost everything he’s done-his lectures, debates, interviews... But I’ve never seen him as happy as he was in this video. It was incredible to see how proud he is of his children and, even more, how much joy he radiated simply sitting next to them and chatting. That happiness in his face was something else man. Wow. Mikhaila and Julian, it's difficult to find words to describe my feelings about you as well. Your intelligence, confidence, knowledge, humor, and mainly humility are remarkable traits individually, but to see them combined in two people who’ve faced such challenges is truly inspiring. Even without any explicit mention, the pain you’ve endured-physical and psychological-was palpable. And yet, that pain has clearly shaped you into the incredible people you are today. I’m 27 years old, and I’ve never written a comment on RUclips before, but I couldn’t let this one pass. Mr. Peterson, I’m sure people thank you daily for your insights and contributions, but I’d like to thank you for raising two extraordinary individuals. You’ve achieved so much in life, but this video revealed yet another great accomplishment: being an exceptional father. To Mikhaila and Julian, I’m deeply sorry for what you’ve endured, but I’m also grateful because those experiences have made you who you are. And seeing you use that pain, resilience, and wisdom to positively impact others is something truly beautiful. Thank you, all three of you, for being who you are and for doing what you do. Please, never stop.
I'm 27, my family is very distant, physically and emotionally, I had no father to be there for me and instead found wise men like JP to guide me. I was just dumped again, after a long relationship, and I likely deserved it. I'm in the belly of chaos, and after seeing JP go through so much, and how happy he is with his children, it inspires me to not give up on my life. I hope one day I can find a way in this harsh and unforgiving world to find a partner I can love deeply and rely on for life, and raise a family. Thank for for being an inspiration and a guide in my life Jordan when all else was dark and hopeless. I love you very much.
So great to see the ILLUSIVE Julian. Always wondered when we were going to meet Jordan’s son. Such a good looking and well spoken family. Love all of you and Mom too.
I've never seen JP with such a happy joyful expression on his face. So good to see the beaming smile of a father for his kids. He's so full of love. So wonderful to see JP absolutely beam with love.
I admire JP and wish I read his book sooner in life. Because of him, I went from being miserable and sleeping all day to cleaning my room, getting a dog, going on walks, losing weight, starting a garden, and for the first time in a very long time, being happy. I'm a disabled veteran and he saved my life. I bought a ticket to meet and hear him speak in 2023. I hope to shake his hand.
@@JordanBPeterson I honestly can't believe my personal hero responded to me. Thank you JP for everything. I will see you in February in Ohio. God bless you.
I admire this family immensely. Dr. Peterson is the most influential mentor in my entire 53 years - no question. You can see the genuine love, compassion and that highest order with a few minor touches of necessary chaos... 😊. Thank you all
I didn’t know Peterson could look happy. He obviously loves his kids because his whole demeanor is so different and his smiles are cheek to cheek. I enjoyed this a lot. It gives a glimpse into how each child is now as an adult. Which attests to Peterson parents good job at raising kids. Also it was interesting to see the discomfort his son showed about being asked for a selfie. He was clearly very uncomfortable with celebrity and clearly wants a mostly quiet private life.
I’ve never seen JP smile this much. I can relate with that joy of family and happiness adult children can bring. Everything I once thought was important in my life has been replaced with the joy of family.
Very inspiring. As a father to a bright 2-year-old, I hope to one day be able to sit across the table from him as an adult and enjoy honest, positive, fun, relaxed and mentally-stimulating conversations with him.
Writing is an art and mostly isnt taught in pre university level . As a teacher, it gave me great joy to give this structure to my students of all ages. It increased their comprehension and reading skills...it made sense. It made creative writing an artistic experience. Dumbing down young students really angers me. Dr Peterson this writing app will be a tool that students will use...once my students were given the basics, you could see the " lights turn on" ,their faces lit up and most became hooked on reading and writing. Teaching the methods of writing is extremely valuable.
What a reassuring joy it is to observe the intergenerational love, trust, support and level of communication intrinsic to this family. The work has paid off brilliantly on so many levels.
A cold email to Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying changed my life. I proposed a clear plan with a tangible goal (create DarkHorse clips channel) and at an appropriate cost. This one piece of writing changed my life. It isn't the first time but is the most salient. Writing is how I think and I loved this conversation. I am signing up to essay after I finish this comment to see how I can improve. Thank you Petersons. -Dave the clips guy

Ya that was so cool
I mean women DO like being referred to as "specific wives" that is a fact lol
My impression is Julian is just as smart as his father, his focus is more joyous and humorous. Definitely the funny Peterson. Like his comeback to JP's comment about writing "horrible poems about children". Not afraid at all to laugh at himself. Mind you JP is pretty humorous. Prof Jordan Petersons' proudness of his son made me cry, what a great example of a father this prof is.
1. It absolutely warms my heart to see JP and his children together like this.
2. I love to see how many ways Julian takes after his dad, but is completely his own person.
Great job all around, Petersons. Family goals right here.

@@shelbyrenovations3740 Yes! That was great. 😂
I see Dr Jordan observing his son and it is profound. A father observing his child, a tree observing its fruit. It is something, to say the least.
An he TRULY means it. I honestly think he choked up at first realizing he's on video with both of them at the same time. Jordan Peterson is a good man, a wild man, but one that might be worth listening to.

And the clearly 'inside jokes' that we're often not let into. Delightful.
I wish so much that my family could talk like this and not have intellectual posturing and putting down each other. It’s a turn off when intellectuals feel they must highlight their superiority over others. It’s hurtful to relationships.

Thank you!

Well if a psychologist can’t get it right who the hell can?
It also shows that it takes a psychologist to bring up kids 😂
In doing some reading about the topic many children of psychologists end up slightly neurotic since their parents want to “fix” or study what they see as broken. What their relationship seems to be based on is what JP said his marriage was based on which is trust. They seem to have been able to discuss things with him and he seems that he spoke with them and not talked at them. To see the love for them in his face is beautiful.

Best wishes ahead Mam.

Methinks it's also related to why Julian said "We don't think the same."

“And if you think your life doesn’t depend on your words, you just don’t know anything about words.”
How beautiful. This sentence of Dr. Peterson reminded me of so many hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) on controlling the words and being careful with what you say.

@@elektrotehnik94
I pondered this morning about some of the rules that Dr Peterson has mentioned in his book.
And I could remember when I was reading that most of them are required in the characters of the believers.
Take for example the second and the third rules, “treat yourself like someone u would be responsible for helping” and “make friends with people who want the best for you”. Both of these are great rules known by a lot of Muslim children!
See, this is verse 195 from the second chapter in the Quran, Allâh the Greatest says:
﴿وَأَنفِقوا في سَبيلِ اللَّهِ وَلا تُلقوا بِأَيديكُم إِلَى التَّهلُكَةِ وَأَحسِنوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ المُحسِنينَ﴾ [البقرة: ١٩٥]
(195) “And spend in the way of Allāh and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allāh loves the doers of good.”
And he says in the third Surah:
وَلا تَقتُلوا أَنفُسَكُم إِنَّ اللَّهَ كانَ بِكُم رَحيمًا [النساء: ٢٩]
“And do not kill yourselves [or one another]. Indeed, Allāh is to you ever Merciful”
-
And as for the rule of being friends with people who are good and want good for you, prophet Muhammad -Peace be upon him- says:
"No one of you becomes a true believer until he likes for his brother what he likes for himself".

Christians have done the same I'm very aware and justifiably horrified.Seems there us no end to man's greatness nor malevolence, however we must never give up looking for the goodness in each other. This interview brought a fee tears to my eyes...what an authentic and loving family. Watching Peterson pleased with his progeny is touching.
You'll be alright man
@@wideningcarrot6 thank you Luke. I think so too. We've got this.

Hooray! Good work!
@@JordanBPeterson I honestly can't believe my personal hero responded to me. Thank you JP for everything. I will see you in February in Ohio. God bless you.
A minute into the video and I have seen Dr. Peterson smile and laugh more than I have in the millions of videos I have seen from him. Love this.
His Daughter had serious health issues age of 7 she had to have Hip and Ankle replacement
The laughter is so refreshing! Such a loving, intelligent and deep family conversation! Thank you all for sharing.
I’ve never seen JP smile this much. I can relate with that joy of family and happiness adult children can bring. Everything I once thought was important in my life has been replaced with the joy of family.
And by their fruits, you shall know them”.
You ought to be proud, Dr. Peterson.

It’s really nice to be able to see what an actual family conversation is like for those of us who don’t or might ever have one
dont fall for the social media trap of judging and comparing yourself to others based on only the best moments being displayed.
Very inspiring. As a father to a bright 2-year-old, I hope to one day be able to sit across the table from him as an adult and enjoy honest, positive, fun, relaxed and mentally-stimulating conversations with him.
This brings me so much joy. What an honor it has been to be apart of this journey with you Dr. Peterson. ❤ always Gaige
For the life of me my university can’t get me enthusiastic about writing even a short 300 word essay. But this. Man this. Fires me up.

@@proudatheist2042 As an avid watcher of both these people; it would test the limits of both, but I believe it would make AN AMAZING episode.
A lot of positivity & value would come out of the initial messiness, for both people involved.
Hope it happens.. maybe not yet, but in time

Dave, you do great work for the Weinsteins. I suggest you reach out to Steve Bannon, his video editors are sloppy and produce equally sloppy edited videos, it's frustrating to watch them.
Your editing is always clean and seemless. Your work is very appreciated!
You’re a legend, Dave!

This was the most refreshing Interview I have ever seen. The genuine enjoyment and laughter the three of you have is a breath of fresh air.
What a delight it is to catch a glimpse of the father-children relationship. Hearing the genuine laughter and thoughtful interaction. You’re all lovely. God bless!
