I am a first year engineering student at ASU. I was looking all over the internet, multiple hours, trying to find out how to do what you just explained in less than 3 minutes. AutoDesk didn't even have the tutorial for "converting" from an stl to a solid body with which you can 3d print an object with. You are an amazing teacher and have gained yourself a subscriber that will be watching all your videos this year! Thank you!
Hello Lars, Thank you for this video, I have seen other videos using Fusion 360, but by far your videos are the easiest to understand and making it easy for us newbies to understand the Autodesk software. Thank you for your work!. looking forward to more of your videos.
Just wanted to say your the man. I've been watching your help videos and they have done just that!!! Your explanations are easy to understand and you move at a pace a noob can follow. Thank you sir.
Your enthusiasm is wonderful! You are very good and explaining Fusion 360. I really appreciated the explanation of STL files being like a "net" thrown over an object.
Hello Lars you have some great videos. I am importing a csv file of an airfoil. I can get it in Fusion but I need to scale it up to 12 inch chord length. Then I need to extrude it into a wing shape. could you help me with this? Thanks Bruce

Great video Lars. I noticed if I stop capture of design history and right click on the model I'm given the option to convert the model to a BRep. What's the difference with this approach as opposed to using Remake to convert to a quads file?
My understanding... is that Brep is just a collection of surface boundary, where converting the triangular STL to Quads makes a better result. I could be wrong :-)

Hi Lars, great vids. I've been watching all kinds of videos about converting .stl to solids. You didn't mention anything about the Converting to BRep command. Is that something different with the same results? Do you recommend this method instead? Thank you
Hi Binario Print Thank you for watching! Yes, We get some of the remake tools into Fusion. Check out this video! ruclips.net/video/yxC-kwuksug/видео.html Best, Lars

Thanks Lars for the GREAT video. I wish AD video were up to your quality. On a different subject - when changing tools in F360 should the posting tell the CNC to move to HOME (G28) as well retract Z? Or is there some function in the CAM you need to select to move the work away from you tool? Looks like I've got to edit my machine specific "post processor configuration" again thanks for any help or not
Thank you for watching. It really depends on the machine/controller if you want/need to tell the machine to go to G28 and retract....Well, I think I always want the machine to retract before a tool change :-). what I'm trying to say, is that it could all be in the M06 macro. Make sure you check the options (depending on what post you use) that you can control in the lower right corner in the post processor dialog box (the screen with the drop of all the posts that comes with Fusion.) If this doesn't help, I would suggest that you check out the forum. There are some crazy smart post people over there. Let me know if there is anything I can do. Have an awesome day!
Hi Lars, Just great! I am a newbie on 3D modelling and Fusion 360 but I have found it to be very useful. I have a more complex step model at hand and I was wondering if you would be willing to give me some guidance on this as well...! Thanks either way, Miguel
Hi Avinash Pudale Thank you for watching! The mesh workspace has change since recording that video. Check this out: ruclips.net/video/cKXvIWpLoeU/видео.html
Jars, I am very excited and impressed with the capabilities of Fusion 360. I am looking forward to using them to create basrelief plaques with my CNC router. Where can I find the steps necessary to accomplish this; starting with a picture (xxx.jpg)? Regards, Ken Campbell
Hi Lars, this video explained everything that I was uncertain about. There is only one problem! I can't find Autodesk Memento on Google 🤷♂️. I also searched Autodesk Remake for good measure and my understanding is that the software has been discontinued. What is the newer up to date equivalent? Thanks, Rupert.
Hi Rupert Denham Thank you for watching! Check out these videos in order: ruclips.net/video/cKXvIWpLoeU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/OX1T_bg493A/видео.html
Hi George Whetnall Thank you for watching! I cheat. I use a device from 3DConnexion.com You don't need one, but if you are working in front of the computer for many hours, they are nice
These videos are handy but any thoughts on redoing them? The info's good but following visually is a nightmare, my fusion has options missing etc. Makes it kinda hard to learn tbh
Hello Lars, I watched your video on importing, but I have a STEP FILE CREATED with my use of ECADIO and I saved it as a files on my computer. When I tried to import it into fusion,... that little symbol that you showed in the video] didn't appear on my copy of Fusion 360... so How do I import my STEP FILE? tHANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS.
Hello lars. I have really appreciated your videos. I am a hobbiest who makes rc aircraft and am having difficulty with a dwg file. I was able to import it but upon editing it (getting rid of a bunch of stuff that was not necessary and adding some alterations) When i look at my sketches, there are dots at some of the intersections (i think) indicating lines are not connected to curves etc. Is there any way to fix this or one of your videos that shows how to correct it. Thanks
I find your videos so incredibly helpful. I found myself looking for a replacement for 123D Design and found Fusion 360. A search in RUclips for Fusion 360 led me to your videos. I find your explanations very clear and to the point and am looking forward to more videos. Have a great day.
Thank you, Paul. Really happy you found them helpful. Did you see the series my friend Aaron Magnin did on the move from 123D to Fusion? ruclips.net/p/PLmA_xUT-8UlI-Zv28ojCl4PHF5AJgJeUa That might also be helpful :-)
Hi William, Thank you for the kind words. Click the Upload button in the data panel on the left side. When you click select files you will see the dropdown to all the file types Fusion imports. You should see SolidWorks, Catia, NX, Step etc. Best, Lars
hi lars thanks for the videos, I go to preview and turn on mesh work space and press appy and ok however it doesn't come up on my tool bar, is there something I have missed? many thanks
1st. you need to make sure that you have the "Mesh" workspace checked in the Preview section of the Preferences (Click your name in the upper right corner) 2nd. The Mesh workspace is not going to be available until you have a mesh file open in a window, like a STL file. Hope this is helpful! Have a great day!
Gidday Lars, I cannot seem to find the Importing Panel with the little 'cloud' etc in my Data Panel? How do I get to it? In your video you are already on it but don't show how you got to it :)
Hi buddwieser Thank you for watching! Click the Rubiks cube (9 square) symbol in the upper left. Also, cloud has been replaced with an upload button Best, Lars
Hi Lars, thank you for another great video. It made me want to try and work with an STL file the way you show. I went to my preferences and selected the Mesh preview, but I don't see a Mesh under the workspace choices, I still the regular seven choices. I just updated Fusion from the App Store, so running the latest as of this date on a Mac. Any ideas why I'm missing the Mesh Workbench?
Hi Lars i enjoyed a lot this video, you did greit. i'm working with Rhino and i need to make a solid, and i know that there was a plug-in for rhino "t-splines" so i was wandering if it is easier to import and make a solid with the native file 3dm. i'm really studing Fusion so i'll be watching your videos. thanks
Just started with Fusion... Am I right in thinking that the only way to get an STL into Fusion is to 'give' Autodesk a copy of my file through the cloud uploading before I can work on it? If so, isn't this an intellectual property rights management issue?
That is a good question. I am pretty sure that nothing is being copied, but I don't want to make anything up here. Let me see if I can find someone who actually know the facts and can share the right answer. Thank you for taking the time to comment !!!
I only mention it because Autodesk have a clear intention to manage a model 'store' and free content to fill up their store is a great marketing idea, if you get what I mean.
Hi RamjetX, Yes, the only way to get an STL into Fusion us to upload it to your own Fusion account. However this doesn't "give" Autodesk the rights to the design. It is now an encrypted design on the cloud that only you, or anyone you invite to your project, can access. We don't claim ownership of the IP, its completely yours. Bankim - Fusion 360 Product Manager
Hi darron lanier Thank you for watching! In the upper left tree there are a section called document settings. open that up and change the units. Best, Lars
So, I'm a long time Autocad user started with 1.0. I have a large 3d assembly, 1 is it practical to convert it to fusion, and 2 is it better to bring it in as the assembly or as individual parts and reassemble? I don't see much on working with Dwg or DXF.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. Honestly, I have not tried importing a big dxf file, but I would go ahead and load the whole thing in at once. Love to hear how you make out!
Hi Lars, thanks for the awesome videos. I have been using 123D Autodesk up until now. I tried uploading some solid models I made but they won't upload in Fusion 360. Why is that since it looks like it was made by the same company? Also, can you save your Fusion 360 files to your computer? Dan
Hi Dan, Thank you for taking the time to watch! I don't know much about 123D, BUT my good friend Aaron Magnin does :-) He just finished this entire awesome series ruclips.net/p/PLmA_xUT-8UlI-Zv28ojCl4PHF5AJgJeUa I think all you answers are right there :-) Have an awesome day!
Sir how to insert 2d ,3 view dwg file in x,y,z planes, iam planning to make an boeing777 airplane, i got 3 view diagram(front, top, side) from Boeing website as dwg format. Iam a beginner in fusion360 , i watch some videos inserting 3view image as jpg,png etc.there is no video about dwg or dxf files.iam bit confused please help me
Hi ajas shamsudheen Thank you for watching! You can insert images an all three planes ruclips.net/video/34ZeXHxYS28/видео.html Hope this video is helpful
Lars!!! My main F360 man!!! Extreme CADCAM newbie(haven't touched CAD since 1990). Your videos have helped immensely, but is there any chance you can do a sheet metal model?
I tried to find memento (because I have a mac) but I was directed to ReMake because they said that memento had "graduated" into Autodesk ReMake (whatever that means). So I went to ReMake and there was an option for mac. But when I clicked on it I was sent to a page that said ReMake for mac will be retired for good. Which is just a nice way of saying mac users don't matter. So is the only option for converting STL files into solid bodies lost for mac users (besides the obvious work around of installing windows on a mac)?
Thanks for this video, one question is it possible to get a pdf file into fusion? most cad software can export pdf files but I don't think any of them could open them as a drawing file kind regards Hans
Hi Hans, right, because a pdf is nothing more than a pixel image. So you can really manipulate anything. You can bring it in as an image and trace sketch lines around it.
no,sorry it isn't because I can turn layers off or on in a proper saved pdf and it is not pixel based, but vector based I can enlarge it very far without losing sharpnes (like a cad programm) I have pdf files from floorplans I use for my work and with acrobat reader I can work with them but I cannot make changes hence the question Kind regards Hans
Thanks Lars i plan to rework my STL file to manage final STEP / IGES export for our factory in view of CNC molding step. Fusion seem the good soft for it. I sent you twice email about this subject my pleasure to share together about this point. Keep your good energy your video are very agreable
Hi Lars, Is it possible, once you convert the model into a solid, to then sculpt or add or modify that said solid? Like add more geometry and push pull or extrude etc.? I use Zbrush and now I'm trying to learn Fusion and I'm trying to then import zbrush files like STLs and OBJs etc. into Fusion but then I have to do some finagling and then ultimately to no avail to be able to sculpt on the model. I also have trouble with using the imported model as a stencil for instance to create a sketch or to use the model as a stencil to create new bodies etc. My goal is to use models I've made in zbrush in Fusion to clean them up, refine them, and create nice, clean hard surface models/geometry. Over all I'm just having some trouble learning this software and trying to do the things I need to do. :\ Can you help me? Or someone else who's reading this? Ppplllleeeeaassse
Hi Stephanie McDowell Thank you for watching! You you have a couple of options. You can change the STL as a mesh: ruclips.net/video/cKXvIWpLoeU/видео.html Or, you can use direct editing after you turn it into a solid: ruclips.net/video/2OZ7AuMXDJ0/видео.html
the stl is solid that why it used in 3d printing its watertight, the other files are not solid( there data but no closed)manifold that why you can't print them, I think I used to be 3d print engineer
Looks like Remake is available for Mac now. Thanks for making this. I've been searching and searching for a good method for editing stl files. hopefully this is the magic bullet.
Hello Lars, I saw you used Remake for turning a Tri- mesh into a Quad-mesh, may I suggest you try MeshLab witch is free for download for windows and Linux, and use it to convert your models. I have used it to convert some of my 3d models. BTW it would be nice if you had a few more tutorials for 3D printing models as I own (5 ) 3D printers. Thank you again for your great work. You amaze me very time I see your videos.
Hi Lars, I've been messing around with fusion for a couple of days and imported a complex SW part (about 100 features and way more sketches). But for a complex model is there anything that you can really do/change with it? So far it seems the only thing I can do to it is turn it around, and no way to find out it's dimensions.... Thanks
Hi Rudivg30dett Thank you for watching! You do have some pretty good direct editing tools available in Fusion. The problem is that SW does not share the sketches and other information such as mates when you open the file in another system. Check out this video on some cool tips on direct editing: ruclips.net/video/2OZ7AuMXDJ0/видео.html Best, Lars
Thanks alot Lars, you're pretty dedicated even repsonding on sundays :) The direct editing is unfortunately unsuitable for the complicated part I'm trying to modify. Basically, to do a proper job I would have to measure every aspect of the Solidworks model and completely redesign it right? Thanks alot, Rutger
Hi Lars... Thank you for taking the time to create these training films. You are a good teacher of the subject matter. I am brand new to this, and was wondering how you re-oriented an imported STL file for 3-d printing. - For example, lets say you drew a pyramid, but you drew it upside down, where it is balancing on the point. Then, you make an STL file of it, and I get the file from you - - It could be printed like that, but it would need much support fill-in, and would waste a lot of media. How would you import that STL file, and then re-orient it so that the base of the pyramid is on the bottom when you 3-d print it? (or would just changing the view as you demonstrated take care of that when you select the 3-d print option from the imports file?) Thanks again for your patience and time.
Never mind the question above....I just discovered that you can change the orientation of the part in the slicer program before generating the g-code. (The adventures of a noob!) Thanks again
when i import a step file into fusion 360 (electromotor i downloaded froma website) i get this wireframe model,it doesnt apear like when u extrude a body(full) but i can see all the lines. why is this happening?
Hi Mrtvababa Thank you for watching! There is a chance your step file is coming in as surfaces. If you expand the bodies folder to the left on the screen, do you see orange surfaces or white body blocks?
I have to admit that I know nothing about Maya. I found this forum post, does that help? forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/i-can-t-figure-out-how-to-get-my-maya-files-in-to-fusion-to/td-p/5520958 If not, let me know and I can have someone possibly chime in.
Hi Lars, Im teaching myself Fusion 360 and as is typical for me I start by going to the most complex operations:-) so I apologies if this is a really dumb question. So Ran a an STL through Momento in order to bring it in as quads. (Incidentally there is a preference in Fusion 360 that is by default set to import as Triangles which must be switched off if we really want Quads) any way.... Now I have bought in my model and converted it as I want. When I scale the object the model scales correctly but moves randomly in space away from the origin - how do I reset the origin to put it back into a logical place wrt to the model. looking at other videos from DIYs this seems to be a common frustration if you don't know how to control where in space your model lives. Of course if you address this in another video do let me know so you don't have re answer the same question. Thx in advance Grant
Lars sorry for my delay. I've done much work on this and found the script that writes the G-Code for my mill does not work correctly. The sad thing is Autodesk does not want to help so I'm on my own. I'm going back to old CAD-CAM program because of the following reasons. I feel Fusion 360 is not mature yet. It's missing many basic tools. Fusion will say the workflow is different, OK fine then tell me how to do what I can in other programs. That brings me to the second reason to move pass Fusion 360. I've posted many times on the fusion forum. Many of my posts are never replied too. Thanks for all your great work, but I have to move on.
Lars, you should be proud, after seven years what you’re doing is helping us today, great job, thank you.

Or is there some function in the CAM you need to select to move the work away from you tool? Looks like I've got to edit my machine specific "post processor configuration" again
thanks for any help or not
Thank you for watching. It really depends on the machine/controller if you want/need to tell the machine to go to G28 and retract....Well, I think I always want the machine to retract before a tool change :-). what I'm trying to say, is that it could all be in the M06 macro.
Make sure you check the options (depending on what post you use) that you can control in the lower right corner in the post processor dialog box (the screen with the drop of all the posts that comes with Fusion.)
If this doesn't help, I would suggest that you check out the forum. There are some crazy smart post people over there.
Let me know if there is anything I can do.
Have an awesome day!
Hi Lars,
Just great!
I am a newbie on 3D modelling and Fusion 360 but I have found it to be very useful.
I have a more complex step model at hand and I was wondering if you would be willing to give me some guidance on this as well...!
Thanks either way,
Miguel
Hi Miguel, You are welcome to send me the model and I can try to take a look when I find some time lars.christensen@autodesk.com
Great video.. next big thing we need to do in fusion is selected face to brep conversation..
Hi Avinash Pudale Thank you for watching!
The mesh workspace has change since recording that video. Check this out:

Jars, I am very excited and impressed with the capabilities of Fusion 360. I am looking forward to using them to create
basrelief plaques with my CNC router. Where can I find the steps necessary to accomplish this; starting with a picture (xxx.jpg)?

man I have been struggling trying to get some file formats in fusion..THANK YOU
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
Check out these videos in order:

Amazing video! Can someone please tell me how to moving the camera like that? Some special tool? It's so cool!
Hello Lars,
I watched your video on importing, but I have a STEP FILE CREATED with my use of ECADIO and I saved it as a files on my computer. When I tried to import it into fusion,... that little symbol that you showed in the video] didn't appear on my copy of Fusion 360... so How do I import my STEP FILE? tHANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS.
Hi Lars, thanks for these videos! I cannot get the MESH option live though?
Hi Klaas Kuperus Thank you for watching!
Things was changed within Fusion....Check out this video:

This video has many very helpful tips! Thanks Lars!
Thanks
Another easy to understand and learn from video.
That is awesome to hear John Farrell .Thank you for watching the videos
my model is scaling up after editing it in meshmixer, how can I change the import settings in fusion 360?
I find your videos so incredibly helpful. I found myself looking for a replacement for 123D Design and found Fusion 360. A search in RUclips for Fusion 360 led me to your videos. I find your explanations very clear and to the point and am looking forward to more videos. Have a great day.
Thank you, Paul. Really happy you found them helpful. Did you see the series my friend Aaron Magnin did on the move from 123D to Fusion?

That might also be helpful :-)
Hi Lars,
thanks for such a descriptive video. It really helped a lot.
That is awesome to hear Akshay Saxena .Thank you for watching the videos
Lars Love all your videos, you do a great job. I do have a question I can't find where to go for importing I looked every where for it can't find it
Hi William, Thank you for the kind words.
Click the Upload button in the data panel on the left side. When you click select files you will see the dropdown to all the file types Fusion imports. You should see SolidWorks, Catia, NX, Step etc.
Best,
Lars
THE best videos on fusion ive found.
many ++++!
Thank you so much Meanmrgreen !
Sir, how to fix mesh non manifold edges?
hi lars thanks for the videos, I go to preview and turn on mesh work space and press appy and ok however it doesn't come up on my tool bar, is there something I have missed? many thanks
1st. you need to make sure that you have the "Mesh" workspace checked in the Preview section of the Preferences (Click your name in the upper right corner)
2nd.
Also, cloud has been replaced with an upload button
Best,
Lars
unfortunately i cant use remake anymore "AUTODESK REMAKE IS MOVING TO RECAP PHOTO" what other options are there for converting stl files into bodies?
Hi billys bikes Thank you for watching!
Yes, check out this video:
ruclips.net/video/cKXvIWpLoeU/видео.html
Hi Lars, thank you for another great video. It made me want to try and work with an STL file the way you show.
I went to my preferences and selected the Mesh preview, but I don't see a Mesh under the workspace choices, I still the regular seven choices.
I just updated Fusion from the App Store, so running the latest as of this date on a Mac.
Any ideas why I'm missing the Mesh Workbench?
OK, looks like I had the option to capture history turned on. After I turned it off I can now see the Mesh workspace. Thanks.
Hi Lars i enjoyed a lot this video, you did greit. i'm working with Rhino and i need to make a solid, and i know that there was a plug-in for rhino "t-splines" so i was wandering if it is easier to import and make a solid with the native file 3dm. i'm really studing Fusion so i'll be watching your videos. thanks
Thank you for taking the time to watch the video. I have never used the plug-in for Rhino, so I'm not really sure.
Another awesome video Lars!!!! Great info! Thank you!!!! :)
Mike
Thank you, Mike :-)
Have an awesome day!

Lars how do you change an imported model from metric to inch
Hi darron lanier Thank you for watching!
In the upper left tree there are a section called document settings. open that up and change the units.
Best,
Lars
So, I'm a long time Autocad user started with 1.0. I have a large 3d assembly, 1 is it practical to convert it to fusion, and 2 is it better to bring it in as the assembly or as individual parts and reassemble? I don't see much on working with Dwg or DXF.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. Honestly, I have not tried importing a big dxf file, but I would go ahead and load the whole thing in at once. Love to hear how you make out!
can you do a vid on the ctrl/command key there are a lot of functions it can do a lot of people don't know it all
Hi Daniel, Thank you for taking the time to watch the video! Yes, that is a great idea. I'll add it to the list :-)
Have a great day!
thanks Lars
Hi Lars,
thanks for the awesome videos.
I don't know much about 123D, BUT my good friend Aaron Magnin does :-) He just finished this entire awesome series ruclips.net/p/PLmA_xUT-8UlI-Zv28ojCl4PHF5AJgJeUa
I think all you answers are right there :-)
Have an awesome day!
Thank you. His video answered my question. I am still wondering if you can save Fusion 360 files locally to your computer?
Sir how to insert 2d ,3 view dwg file in x,y,z planes, iam planning to make an boeing777 airplane, i got 3 view diagram(front, top, side) from Boeing website as dwg format. Iam a beginner in fusion360 , i watch some videos inserting 3view image as jpg,png etc.there is no video about dwg or dxf files.iam bit confused please help me
Hi ajas shamsudheen Thank you for watching!
You can insert images an all three planes

hi - Stumped at the start :-( My software doesn't have the cloud icon on the sidebar - I'm on a Mac
Hi Anthony Boorer Thank you for watching! True, that icon has now been placed by an Upload button
Lars!!! My main F360 man!!! Extreme CADCAM newbie(haven't touched CAD since 1990). Your videos have helped immensely, but is there any chance you can do a sheet metal model?
Thank you Tharonous West

I tried to find memento (because I have a mac) but I was directed to ReMake because they said that memento had "graduated" into Autodesk ReMake (whatever that means). So I went to ReMake and there was an option for mac. But when I clicked on it I was sent to a page that said ReMake for mac will be retired for good. Which is just a nice way of saying mac users don't matter. So is the only option for converting STL files into solid bodies lost for mac users (besides the obvious work around of installing windows on a mac)?
To my knowledge, they are working on getting ReMake functions into Fusion. That should make mad mac users happy...I would think....
oh, that's good news. Thanks for responding. But for now there isn't anything?
Thanks for this video, one question is it possible to get a pdf file into fusion?
most cad software can export pdf files but I don't think any of them could open them as a drawing file
kind regards Hans
Hi Hans, right, because a pdf is nothing more than a pixel image. So you can really manipulate anything. You can bring it in as an image and trace sketch lines around it.
no,sorry it isn't because I can turn layers off or on in a proper saved pdf and it is not pixel based, but vector based I can enlarge it very far without losing sharpnes (like a cad programm)
I have pdf files from floorplans I use for my work and with acrobat reader I can work with them but I cannot make changes hence the question
Kind regards Hans
Many thanks for thoses clear explanations. Greetings from france
Thank you for watching, Fred!
Best,
Lars
Thanks Lars i plan to rework my STL file to manage final STEP / IGES export for our factory in view of CNC molding step. Fusion seem the good soft for it. I sent you twice email about this subject my pleasure to share together about this point. Keep your good energy your video are very agreable
Hi Lars,
Is it possible, once you convert the model into a solid, to then sculpt or add or modify that said solid?
You can change the STL as a mesh:
ruclips.net/video/cKXvIWpLoeU/видео.html
Or, you can use direct editing after you turn it into a solid:
ruclips.net/video/2OZ7AuMXDJ0/видео.html
Thank you so much for replying! I will definitely check those out and try them out! Thank you again!
the stl is solid that why it used in 3d printing its watertight, the other files are not solid( there data but no closed)manifold that why you can't print them, I think I used to be 3d print engineer
Looks like Remake is available for Mac now.
Thanks for making this. I've been searching and searching for a good method for editing stl files. hopefully this is the magic bullet.
Good luck :-)
Hello Lars, I saw you used Remake for turning a Tri- mesh into a Quad-mesh, may I suggest you try MeshLab witch is free for download for windows and Linux, and use it to convert your models. I have used it to convert some of my 3d models. BTW it would be nice if you had a few more tutorials for 3D printing models as I own (5 ) 3D printers. Thank you again for your great work. You amaze me very time I see your videos.
hello sir, how to make aerofoil designing in fusion 360 , witthout considering the any picture of aerofoil .
Hi prasad patole Thank you for watching! I have it on the list
Check out this video on some cool tips on direct editing:
ruclips.net/video/2OZ7AuMXDJ0/видео.html
Best,
Lars
Thanks alot Lars, you're pretty dedicated even repsonding on sundays :)
The direct editing is unfortunately unsuitable for the complicated part I'm trying to modify. Basically, to do a proper job I would have to measure every aspect of the Solidworks model and completely redesign it right?
Thanks alot, Rutger
@@Rudivg30dett did you manage to figure it out without redesigning?
(or would just changing the view as you demonstrated take care of that when you select the 3-d print option from the imports file?)
Thanks again for your patience and time.
Never mind the question above....I just discovered that you can change the orientation of the part in the slicer program before generating the g-code.
(The adventures of a noob!)
Thanks again
Glad you figured it out!
You are totally right, you can also use the move tool in Fusion 360
See this video:

when i import a step file into fusion 360 (electromotor i downloaded froma website) i get this wireframe model,it doesnt apear like when u extrude a body(full) but i can see all the lines. why is this happening?
Hi Mrtvababa Thank you for watching!
There is a chance your step file is coming in as surfaces. If you expand the bodies folder to the left on the screen, do you see orange surfaces or white body blocks?
the problem was that the view (monitor icon on bottom) was set to wireframe.
Thank you for replying :)
Some really good info here. Thanks!
Thank you Kelly Klaas K7SU
Thanks, Lars! You are awesome! Helped me very much with your video tutorials!
is there weldments option present in fusion 360 @Lars Christensen
Hi VIVEK PONNAPALLI Thank you for watching!
Not yet, but I am sure it is on the developer's roadmap.
Best,
Lars
Lars Christensen then how should I make chasis ?? Is there any other way !
Hi Lars,
Please excuse the typo; I know your name is Lars not Jars.

double clicking to image in my fusion 360 projects file just open a new window in my browser?
Same here. Did you figure it out?
how long does it take to export a model from remake? the lightning bolt loading wheel just keeps spinning
How big is the file? I would think that is what is going to be the biggest trouble.
Can someone tell me how to import several models into an assembly imported into Fusion 360? Any help is appreciated
Are you talking about individual models that are imported and then you make an assembly of them inside Fusion 360?
yes, that is correct. I'm adding other models into a currently opened assembly inside Fusion
the video started with the import window open. I need to know how to get that window open
Click on the the little 9 square footage icon on the upper left
Awesome video. Very informative . Thanks
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! Glad you found it helpful!
Have an awesome weekend!
dear sir please help me
I want to create core and cavity of ug nx models by using fusion 360

Hi Lars...how to import File from Maya to Fusion 360? i have try to import .mb but didn't still work
I have to admit that I know nothing about Maya. I found this forum post, does that help? forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/i-can-t-figure-out-how-to-get-my-maya-files-in-to-fusion-to/td-p/5520958
If not, let me know and I can have someone possibly chime in.
when I dbl click,it opens up autodesk web page with my jpeg on it. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Russell, I have no idea! What are you clicking???????? Please let me know
I figured it out thanks brother
Sir can we import 3d maya texture file in fusion 360
Hello sir can please me with this
Hi Lars, Im teaching myself Fusion 360 and as is typical for me I start by going to the most complex operations:-) so I apologies if this is a really dumb question.
Thx in advance
Grant
Oh I think I found it in you - Five things beginners want to know video :-)
Nice video. But I still don't know how to import curves from Rhino into Fusion
