I was wondering if anyone had already commented this but I laugh every time because he always says at the end of the ladder before the final boss no matter what character he’s playing “wow even the CPU knows this is the best Kameo pairing” even though it’s literally just a mirror match every time for whatever character and Kameo you chose 💀💀💀😭
I like the direction they’re taking a lot of these characters since we know their arcade ending is canon to lead into the sequel and such. Ermac being an anti-hero just trying to find reconciliation for all the souls trapped within is cool. I like Rain finally being turned into (hopefully) a good guy in the sequel after his work with Havik in Seido. A lot of interesting set ups
I love that Ermac is now no longer just a slave to a villains will, but instead a free spirited antihero. Even though I liked how Jerrod briefly took control of their body, I prefer Ermac being their own character.
I dunno if chat mentioned it during recording, but the second to last match is always a mirror match. So whatever character you choose and whatever kameo you choose, will always be your mirror in MK1 Ladders.
Haviks pre-release trailer had me sold. Learned him as my first character in the game and was so bored. They really need to put some respect on Havik this next patch.
I really wish that Ermac's Arcade Ending actually focused on him giving us the answer to what happened the night King Jarrod was assassinated and why the Umgadi used Li Mei as a scapegoat for the king's death.
@salvadorvega3805 Watch Tanya's ending and it'll reveal that the Matrons Superior themselves made Li Mei their scapegoat. Apparently, they were the ones who made poor decisions, which resulted in the King's death, and as a result of that, decided to make Li Mei into a scapegoat. And from what I've heard, all the MK1 endings are Canon. So the Umgadi using Li Mei as a scapegoat is Canon to the story. And furthermore, in the Story Mode, during the Mileena Chapter, when King Jarrod took control over Ermac, he revealed that Li Mei was innocent and that she wasn't responsible for his death.
Seems like he was assimilated back into Ermac and they assumed she failed to save him. It also sounds like this Ermac is still the old Ermac like they are some kind of being that exists in every timeline as one continuous entity.

I agree, Ermac is fun but also too hard to utilize for just picking up and play. His execution is WAYYY harder in this game than any past MK game he's been in. Totally agree. Also, as a zoner myself this will take some serious getting used to as I am not a rushdown player but that's pretty much his style now thanks to NRS. Hopefully he'll get a legit projectile in the future at least. His combos are insanely tough to do compared to past games also, the timing just seems so precise. One change I can't stand about him is how his teleport works, the fact that you have to hit up or down instead of it just tracking you/hitting you automatically is so lame imo but I digress.

Especially Baraka and Reptile. They went from one-note jobber henchmen to sympathetic allies.
