Agreed. But also some lines sound like a completely different voice actor from story, is it just me?
I like how he's not like the old Quan Chi voice who sounded very uppity and high-and-mighty. Instead he just sounds like a crazy ass Power Rangers villain and I love it
I always enjoy long range characters who can combo from long range. Just projectile spamming gets boring, but doing a full screen combo activates my neurons.

Them adding the intros to offline play is by far the biggest change of this patch. I never play online and was desperately missing them. So when I hopped on and saw them I legit smiled, becuase I had never heard a single interaction

It feels like they finally got Quan Chi done right! Not only does his fighting style look like an evil variant of Doctor Strange, he actually has a pretty cool outfit now.
Max said years ago when they were rating the MKX outfits that Quan Chi essentially needed a redesign for his look, and thank god NRS listened.
He did not get a redesign. He looks very similar

@@Jaaayminajestry Armageddon really wasn't a good game tho, the create-a-fatality ruined it. MK9 was good but even in that one I just couldn't use every character. MK1 it's like I was pulled to learn every single character. I enjoy it that much despite the crap people talk about it. The game only gets better with each update.
It’s hard to tell whether he’s one of the best or the worst, he’s so polarizing for me lmao. Still one of the most fun characters in the game
He’s both. Which makes him mid? He’s fun to play
He's got a lot of options, but in a way that feels like he has to set up to pop off or else he's getting punished by a desperate panicked wiff.
Definitely not one of the best but definitely not the worst. I will say he’s a very good character to play but complex to understand what to use in each circumstance. Most of his strings are great at commanding different spaces on the screen.
Up close not great, full screen one of the best . He’s set up to be a zoner for sure but in a way that’s fun unlike a cetrion or someone similar .
Having way more fun playing Quan Chi in this game than all other MKs combined
i was very much like mad where ive never really liked him in any respect, but this dlc has made him one of my favorites gameplay wise. i was completely taken aback
He was limited by technology in past games.
@@DonYoGi8331Really? I feel like this would all been possible since PS4. Maybe even PS3 but they just didn't think of it at the time. Obviously not to this degree but the summoning lovecraftian beings stuff might have been possible.

@@fireblitz3438Not sure they didn't do it for the dlc characters in MkX, like Tanya's design wasn't even finished in the story mode in mkX. But who knows if they're able to and have the budget for it, they might. I would imagine that would be hard to do.
@@BuddyDragon18 it wasn't that Tanya's design in MKX storymode was unfinished, it was that the fans demanded she looks more like PS2 era Tanya after her reveal in the DLC trailer so they gave her the white eyes and fixed up her facial model a bit

he always looked pretty lame and he was the next big bad after shang sung which was kind of a huge disappointment, but granted I like him but like the same way you'd like a dark elf its lame asf but kinda cool

They've made his gameplay so cool. Design wise he's always been super weird to me but he looks dope to actually play.
Feel like every fighter should have the same health. Or the very minimum is show their base health when character selecting then show how much health Kameos add when selecting those.
Whoever the voice actor is, he seems to really enjoy voicing Quan Chi.

Something I love about MK1 is how they designed the zoners. In the past NRS made zoners have horrible buttons with little to no combos but in this game zoners don’t just have to be zoners, they can combo and do flashy stuff, granted not as well and other characters but the option being there is very nice 🔥
Just when I think I covered all the bases of Quan Chi, that intro just opened up a hell of a lot of opportunities wtf 😂 easily the most cracked he’s ever been

I use him with Sub Zero so much help
1) the extra health is much needed, it's only 5% but still it helps so damn much, unlike Nitara, Quan has no way to regain health so 900 health is a major blow to Quan's survivability
2) the changes to Cold Shoulder make it even better. It was already a frame 1 invincible get up attack but now it is a lightning quick as well, ain't no blocking this thing as Quan desperately needs a close range move to help him stay safe and push people out since his crouching poke are garbage.
3) Ice armor makes him just all around better at long range
4) His freeze allows for more set ups for his portal or bone prison for better keep away.
Jax is another alternative, just gives more health and energy wave gets people off of Quan
Quan Chi in this game always looks like he's high on something.

All I play is online/invasions so I've never seen these characters interact outside story mode since they were locked behind local VS. That is awesome even if mist people won't give a shit.

Bi Han's amp'd Ice Clone used to be a mandatory two bars prior to the changes made as part of Quan Chi's release.
Johnnys nut punch ex is two bars since it gives him an invulnerable wakeup

They should make the tentacle grab one bar but only allow for it once in a combo, second time it drops. It’s so expensive for a character that already struggles with damage.
Quan and Frost is nice. I can get 57% with fatal blow, and she works good with Quan's mix game

@@DreBagsGaminglol Shao needs meter too at least a bar for ex knee but Johnny has some of the highest meterless damage in the game.
Quan has a lot of overheads so I guess that want you to really think about going for that mix, plus he has a one meter launcher as well

in my opinion, Sareena is the best kameo for him. It’s both lore accurate and you can do a 40% combo with the two of them.
Hanzo/Scorpion would also be a lore accurate kameo, at least with regards to MK9 and Mythologies. Quan was playing Hanzo like a fiddle for so long.... He never really figures it out until some point during the events of MK4/MKX; in both cases, it is Kuai Liang who reveals the truth.
Sareena is a good kameo if you can only breathe out your mouth

Idk why they bet so much on this creature and it’s not in a fatality either. His second one is like the sword fatality but worse. He has no controls moves this game anyway so why even do that. A perfect one is he traps them in the bone cage and that thing eats them. Also yea his fatal blow is whatever just having him punch someone in the gut for an ender is stupid.
@@mrthanos8140 They didn't bet so much on the creature at all, he has plenty attacks where he doesn't use the thing and his whole thing is he's a dark mage. He has a vast array of magical abilities, honestly you people are the only ones betting so much on the creature with all this bitching about it not being in a fatality of his. His second fatality is awesome, it isn't "like the sword fatality but worse" in the slightest lmao. His fatal blow is also awesome, he shoots skulls that knock you into a portal which teleports you above him to fall and get punched. He doesn't even punch you in the gut genius. He punches you in the back breaking your spine.

@@TECC73 completely understandable man, honestly I'd look into a snack box then as they are known to be a lot better for your hands or wrist, and or if possible a smaller or larger controller could also help, I prefer a larger controller so my fingers dont cramp up personally

His design is great but after trying his trials i just cant with the combo structure of this game, combos like trial 6 just feel awful and not fun or natural at all, kameos seemed fun at first but theyre just tedious and unnatural to figure out and actually do in a match

Either play long range or short, this character will be unbeatable against a main. And probably just like a stupid annoyance on other people

Why does quan chi has one skin in this game. Mk 11 has so many customisation for dlc characters but in mk1, there's nothing. Someone has to call out Ed boon for his bs. Who is really developing this game wb or nrs. We need an explanation.
