Fujian is indeed a very nice place although hardly mentioned in the West or outside China despite the large number of Fujianese who had migrated overseas. It seems that, unlike the Cantonese, they have become even more fully integrated and immersed into the local communities of the countries they had migrated to. Very prosperous, modern, new and ancient, clean and colorful. It's more "cultural" than the northern provinces. The culture here is so rich, like in ChaoShan too. Yeah... they are more religious and spiritual compared to their northern counterparts. I like that the deities are also having so much fun! So exciting! Wild! Such rituals or religious events can also be found in Japan too because these people migrated there. Hahaha... the Karaoke thing in the temple? is so funny. Wow! That village is really so fun! Thanks again to Katherine for bringing all these wonderful places in China right to our screens. And I say "thank you" on behalf of Aysajan and Mehmeti for bringing them along. In fact, the Cultural Revolution completely eradicated the "high caste" clans in China. It was beneficial to the ordinary people at the bottom. It changed the mental outlook of the people at the bottom who had been afraid of the "high castes" for thousands of years! There are advantages and disadvantages, yes, culture The Great Revolution destroyed many excellent cultural traditions. It was a catastrophe, but I still think that the Cultural Revolution is something that China must complete.

The deity festival reminds me of Ratha Yatra (Chariot Festival) to celebrate Jagannath. Maybe your experience with India you know about that too.

If you're thinking about the one in Puri, that's extremely crowded! But not the same thing. For one it's the only chance foreigners can see the Deity. And Lord Jagannatha is HUGE, they can't carry him on a palanquin. And the purpose of the festival is also different, they don't go out to have fun.
I think Indian Deities and Chinese Deities have a very different mood, they are also not worshiped in the same way. Just look at this old movie, of Lord Caitanya (a saint, but also an incarnation of Krishna in the mood of his devotee) worshiping Lord Jagannatha, it's such a pity this particular video doesn't have subtitles! Because the words are beautiful! They're by Vidyapati and in Bengali.
Ok, I found the very long version with subtitles, it's at minute 24:46 to which I'm linking:
