This episode is very fascinating to me. The first time I see the little (3rd) Korea, the Russian-China-N. Korea tri-point border, and how Koreans are a part of Chinese culture, I don't think I can find a book that can give me so much Information in such a short time. Wow, what a beautiful, calm lake, rice field, market, and people! Awesome! 👌 Oh, I love kimchi too. Thank you, and please take care of yourself out there! God bless.
Thanks Yan for bringing fans from afar to the sacred mountain and Korean village. The traditional Korean house is very beautiful with old TV, sewing machine, furniture. Korean folks are fond of peppers like the Chinese villagers. At the border with Russia - North Korea - China there are Russian Chinese ethnics enhancing their Russian cultural roots. God bless your excellent excursions with good health and happiness. 😃
I am so happy you got to experience Yanji, my wife and I spent a few days there in May of 2018, and it was a very interesting city. There was some kind of fair going on, (maybe celebrating the start of good weather?), and we ate some amazing street food, including like 1 inch long sweet potatoes, beautiful and tasty seafood that we got to grill ourselves outside, kimchi and bulgogi. The town was lit up like Times Square every night, the people were amazingly friendly, and we loved it. As you progress north, you will encounter Heihe, which we experienced last August. The Russian influence there is very similar to the Korean influence in Yanji, and the walkway/promenade along the Helongiang river caters to many who want to look at Russia. That same promenade has many shops selling cloths, various artifacts, and great ice cream. Anyhow, watching you experience that part of China brings many good memories to me, so I thank you again for your work, it really does make my life better

I was on Changbai mountain long ago. A long steep walk to the top. Lots of people couldn't make it to the top. So, there were men carrying those people up on stretchers. An International Peace park between Jilin Province in China and North Korea. The deepest crater lake in China is there. Up in the clouds. It's very difficult to be there on a day when one can see fully because of the clouds. That's a fact. A beautiful hand crafted log building sits up there the Chinese have made.
Thank you, Yan, without you, I didn't know there were so many Chinese- Koreans living in China. Before watching your videos I really didn't like China but you have changed my mindset about China. You're a real ambassador. 🫡💕
Mao Zedong, driven by his own romanticism, gave up part of the territory to Vietnam and North Korea, sacrificing China's national interests. Changbai Mountain is one example. Now some S.Koreans are saying that China has taken their ancestral land... It's ridiculous.
My mother-in-law looks just like those aunties, or ajummas in Korean, they rove around in packs and are a force to be reckoned with!😂 My wife's grandparent's house from the 1930s is similar to the one you visited with the traditional kitchen, the Korean architecture is very apparent there. Thanks Yan!! 👍👍❤
Beautiful video... Especially the rice farms. Koreans and Chinese are cousins. They should never let anything come between them. It is wonderful to see a Korean population in China living and using their own language over a century later.
@@Amidat nothing unsual, Koreans were already part of China's ethnic minority 3000 years ago. northern part of Korean peninsula including Pingyeong was Chinese territory or vaseau kingdoms for a long long long time. even Seoul's ancient name is 漢城 (meaning Han city) when Koreans were using Chinese characters as their official writings.
China has the right to use Tumen river to reach the sea. But that railway bridge between Russia and North Korea is too low for large cargo ship to pass. So the trilateral relationship is complicated
it is not complicated at all, the place you see at that vantage point was not russian, it was Chinese territory (150 million km2) invaded and taken by Russia in 1850. it was done purposely to deny China access to the sea of japan.
Very good as usual. I have learned so much about China since I started watching your videos! Especially about its countryside. That part of it looks clean and neat and well ordered. The small village within the rice fields is so beautifully captured, in addition to the amazing people and culture. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful video! ❤
Fascinating video, Yan. Not many people in the West know about this region and it's history. So it's very nice of you to share it with us. Thank you for that.
I just love your vloggs because i see the traditional Chinese living in the provinces. I see them as friendly people. How i wish i could be in those places like Yunnan. Keep vlogging ❤❤❤
I agree ❤❤❤
These border locales, thanks to my number one little Chinese lady, reflect fascinating facets of the diverse cultures inherent in these border communities! ...much intertwined and yet distinctly different in their own right! Their lives much enriched, their's is an existence of meaning and happiness! And by extension your videos have brought joy to my living room ❤😂
very cool. i have watched some of your videos. it takes a lot of effort to make a video like that, including using a drone. thorough preparation. really appreciate that. also salute to your ability to talk to many new people and speak English 🥰
This is a dream come true video for me. On my wish list. Thank you so much Yan for this unbelievable wonderful journey. Will join your channel as soon as I can. Mind you it will be the only channel for me. Best wishes from India.
It would be fitting to visit ethnic-Russian Chinese next. Great job as always Yan!
Not just in northeast areas, also in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia provinces where Russian Chinese folks live.
Very good video. I had thought Mt. Paektu was within N. Korean. Surprised it straddled the border. Enjoyed a lot. Thank you.
Big Thanks, Yan!🙏 Because I am from Jilin province ❤ When I was a kid, our neighbors were a Chinese-Korean family, and they often shared their homemade kimchi with us. It was the best kimchi! 😊
Thank you!!
So cool, I love Kimchi :)
You have really great videos with informative commentary, nice drone cinematography, and you establish a good rapport with your interviewees.
Amazing videos, a tour through history and time. Thank you so much for your hard work and sharing.
Waooo that three points just amazing! Thankyou so much Yan for taking us to that wonderful places! It’s surely eye opening!
Chinese people will never forget and forgive why China has lost access to the sea of japan at this location and beyond.
Cherish your videos. I pause many times to enjoy your magnificent vistas. I repeat many time to be certain not to miss any of your informative narrative. At 75, deep interest in China, more broadly, Asia, I am so grateful to have stumbles upon your channel. You are a lovely, sweet, host. Talented, open, humble human being. Thank you. Best wishes.
She shows the beautiful side of human being
You and your videos are good friends to have. Thank you.
谢谢你😊 fascinating video! Woah 😳🙏
Thank you so much for these videos, truly fascinating!!! ❤❤
Thank you. I have wanted to to visit China since I was a child. I never will; I’m 75. Keep up showing me China!
欢迎您亲自来中国看看👀❤
@@YitianZhang-o9n sicher werde ich China vielleicht nächstes Jahr besuchen. Wer weiß

更可气的是棒子得陇望蜀,得寸进尺!
Mao Zedong, driven by his own romanticism, gave up part of the territory to Vietnam and North Korea, sacrificing China's national interests. Changbai Mountain is one example. Now some S.Koreans are saying that China has taken their ancestral land... It's ridiculous.

So interesting. Mostly the explanation of the immigration times and ethnic. 🙏❣️
Gosh I could watch many hours of video from this region of China. Thank you for sharing this!
Excellent video, Yan. Keep up the fantastic work. Cheers.
They rove around in packs. So true 😅
Beautiful video... Especially the rice farms. Koreans and Chinese are cousins. They should never let anything come between them. It is wonderful to see a Korean population in China living and using their own language over a century later.
@@Amidat nothing unsual, Koreans were already part of China's ethnic minority 3000 years ago. northern part of Korean peninsula including Pingyeong was Chinese territory or vaseau kingdoms for a long long long time. even Seoul's ancient name is 漢城 (meaning Han city) when Koreans were using Chinese characters as their official writings.
wow!!! I always saw the tri-border point by Google maps.., Thanks for give us this new point of view!!, excellent video!!!
I'm learning a lot from you ❤thank you for touring us ❤
thank you, nice video
谢谢!
谢谢你 🥰
@ 21:36 , your video ended too soon just when the geography ( tri point ) became interesting
China has the right to use Tumen river to reach the sea. But that railway bridge between Russia and North Korea is too low for large cargo ship to pass. So the trilateral relationship is complicated
That was discussed by the Jingwu Show on YT
Chinese people will never forget and forgive why China has lost access to the sea of japan
it is not complicated at all, the place you see at that vantage point was not russian, it was Chinese territory (150 million km2) invaded and taken by Russia in 1850. it was done purposely to deny China access to the sea of japan.
Very good as usual. I have learned so much about China since I started watching your videos! Especially about its countryside. That part of it looks clean and neat and well ordered. And safe for a woman travelling by herself. That is almost like a litmus test for how safe a country is. Thank you for your efforts, Yan, keep going! 😘
Excellent video, in the UK,we hear about North Korea being isolated, your brilliant journey has highlighted so much about this country, it's very interesting, Thanks for sharing this with us,your travelling opens up a new World for us, Thank You🎉
Soy nueva por tu canal y me encantan las culturas que mostras, sigue adelante🤗😊 saludos desde Paraguay

Yan, you’re indeed everyone. Awesome traveller. Take care & be safe. Cheers from Singapore.
Love all, especially the history and blended cultures of the great China. Thank you beautiful Lady.
Hi Yan thank you for another great video of how diverse China and the surrounding countries really are .
Has a retired farmer i found it interesting how the rice farmers mixed two different types of rice together when sowing to get a better end product .similar to us in the U K sowing two different types of wheat to get a better bread .All the best Alec.
Hanımefendi videolarınız çok etkileyici,teşekkür ederim. İzlemek mutlu ediyor,değişik kültürleri tanımak insanı zenginleştiriyor….

Thank you, Yan. Great video as usual.
Wow, I absolutely loved this episode! Thank you for doing what you do!
Wow this is a beautiful video! Phenomenal job! 看起來像小韓國
I'm amazed how the signs near the Russian area have Russian, Korean and Chinese! I honestly never knew that!
3:34 I'm amazed your taxi driver used to regularly swim to 朝鮮 as a kid. I find it quite sad, that the North Korean and Chinese cannot interact with each other as much anymore. ;(
Chinese people wil never forget and forgive why China cannot have access to the sea of japan
I love your videos! It's great to see these places through the eyes of a Chinese person. I've been very curious about this particular meeting point of three countries for a while, it's a fascinating place.
Very complicated history indeed. From Chinese point of view it is very sad to lose huge territory to Russia.
@@XW3126not complicated at all, Russia invaded and annexed 1.5 million km2 Chinese territory from this location and beyond.
