In the past, these ethnic minorities migrated to remote mountainous areas to escape war and basically lived a self-sufficient farming life. The government has always wanted to relocate them outside the mountains, but many local people are unwilling to move and hope to continue their traditional life. If they move outside the mountains, they will lack the means of survival. Only young people are unwilling to stay in the mountains, leaving only some elderly people and people without skills to continue living in the mountains.
Farmers have a lot of skills like farming and textiles. It is only that those skills are not value by urban society. I hope the China goverment creates programs so those valuable skills are not lost by outmigration
OH OH Yan, I thought the Golden Eagle might get a bit wobbly in flight that brew looked a bit strong,😀Yan wonderful video, many different Cultures & Groups, the People are just wonderful, its those beautiful terraced farming plots stepped up & down the Mountain & Hills is a way of keeping water up into the farming plots, brilliant this is a procedure carried out around the world, China & Tibet & other Countries have been doing this for 5000 years or more, in Australia their was a Man called PA Yeoman's who was a Mining Engineer & Farmer extra, who invented Key Line Farming using the system to keep the water up the hills Contour Up the Hill & Contour Down the Hill , using a ripper to open the soil and keep the water up so the field could be naturally irrigated with low rain falls, also by putting in Dams on the Key line, so you can flood irrigate from the Dam along the contours ,its more to it but its wonderful, Yan did you know that the first Irrigation Dam was Made in Northern China some 5000 years , so I find it interesting how these people use the top of their Houses for growing food, Yan your Video showing the Greenery of those valleys & Mountains its a Beautiful Video, I learn something every day, its a joy watching how other cultures do their Farming , Keep up your Wonderful Work Yan, Bless you, Regards Trevor.W.Bacelli. What a cute little girl! She made a famous homophone joke, even I didn't react for a while. She said 8+1(=9), and the pronunciation of 9 is the same as rice wine, which is "Jiu".
oh you just get me the answer! because drinking is banned on tiktok, so they can't say Jiu which means liquor. Instead they call it eight plus one (equals nine, sounds is jiu, same with liquor). I didn't get it until I read your lines!

Muli City - what an interesting place! I love their use of the residential building's roof areas with the vegetable gardens and dense arrays of solar water heaters; a win-win simple urban design. But then, it must be real hard to live in places like Eya there through the winters. Do they have electricity, cell phones? Your video lectures are priceless!
Poverty in China is not material, it is mainly in healthcare and education, and this remote area lacks healthcare and children have to go to the city to go to school.Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture is the poorest area in China, and it would be hard to find a poorer city than this area. The annual per capita income in this region is less than 8,000 US dollars, and even so, it still has running water, electricity, and roads. As for mobile phones, the cheapest Xiaomi and Huawei are even less than $100. It's hard to find an old person without a smartphone.
I’ve heard about the “Walking Marriages” in China and I’m so looking forward to the next episode - you tell so interesting stories and we come so close to the people ❤
Brings back such precious memories of my times in China. From Wushan in Northern Chongqing I visited so many small rural traditional villages and can only wish I could visit this village. Very nice. Thank you.
As a Chinese, I would like to say that this is not the general situation in rural China. Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture is one of the poorest places in China .The rural areas, especially those in several coastal provinces, have developed quite well, and the blogger's hometown Anhui's rural areas are also good.
Once again we see that people who have so little are happy to give a lot to strangers (although that corn wine looked lethal!). I'm surprised that the houses were so open, as it must get extremely cold there sometimes. Another wonderful video, thank you. Yan, I would also like to add that after seeing the coverage of the awful typhoon and earthquake that affected Anhui, and other places in China, I hope your family are safe and well.

Thanks!
Thank you 🥰
Your videos are truly amazing. I’ve learned more about China than I ever could have being here in the USA. I am so grateful that you travel so far just so we can see the different , beautiful people and their cities. Thank you!
Wow, what a fascinating culture. They must have no crime, what a wonderful trusting people. Thank you for this unique experience; I never would have had it without your vlog.😊

So beautiful! Thank you, Yan, for another wonderful staycation! I'm now looking forward to each video!
Yan, I wanted to thank you for showing us how beautiful is China and its people. Their kindness and way of living is so inspiring and at the same time shows how we as humans have more and more in common no matter where you are, what you look like and where you come from.
So interesting to see anothere rich culture and beautiful primitive village which still exists in our modern times.
Amazing village and interesting buildings architecture. Beautiful people and culture. The lady is so friendly keep serving you their home made liquor. Thanks for sharing such an interesting video!
The people of this village are very loyal and hospitable❤❤
Another fascinating insight into Unseen China 🇨🇳 Yan! You’re audience loves the work you do. I used be made to drink the rice wine of the Ibans in Sarawak and understand your sacrifice when drinking too! It was hilarious. Beautiful people. Can’t wait to go to China next month. Zaijian Xiao Yan! 😊

Thank you Yan, I always look forward to your videos.
Another great video Yan friendly people no doors on houses never mind locks these people have more respect for each other than we in the so called modern world have for each other ,it seems sharing is very common in China 2 husband for 1 wife and visa versa in other provinces .Has a farmers son back in the 60 s i remember pigs been killed for pork and bacon and been cured with salt peter they called it then and the pigs bladder used as a football.
Your drone footage was amazing these were poor people but were rich in every other way .Thank you Yan .All the best from the U K Alec.
Such a unique way looking into people in China and their lives. Thank you and keep up the wonderful work.
What a cute little girl! She made a famous homophone joke, even I didn't react for a while. She said 8+1(=9), and the pronunciation of 9 is the same as rice wine, which is "Jiu".
Ah.... That's what she was saying.... 😅
oh you just get me the answer! because drinking is banned on tiktok, so they can't say Jiu which means liquor. Instead they call it eight plus one (equals nine, sounds is jiu, same with liquor). I didn't get it until I read your lines!
@@littlechineseeverywhere wow, that's cool

Wish I had discovered this channel much earlier, I’ve always wanted to visit China. And Yan is awesome! She’s a great communicator and makes it very entertaining while being informative and educational. Eya village is incredible! It’s beautiful
I love your channel! You made me realize that China is a place where it is actually safe to travel solo as a woman
Yes, of all the people she met, no one gave her a warning about her safety.
thank you. I am so grateful for your reflection. all the distance you cover and the isolated locations you reach are truly spectacular to see and experience the visuals of. thank you so much. 🙏😊
Thanks for uploading your videos! Currently pregnant in China and missing being able to travel (especially to remote places which I love to visit), so your videos are helping to scratch the itch❤
Fascinating to see such far flung places and lives of ordinary folks there. Thank you!
Another amazing video, it had me smiling all the way through. I love to see all the different places in China and nobody shows them better than you. Thank you.
All the people you come across are so warm and inviting. I watch many travel vlogs from all over the world and find it fascinating that most every culture has a form of "cheers" when sharing a drink together. It really connects humans together. That and the willingness and enjoyment of everyone to share a meal. Even the poorest of families love to give a guest some food that they have prepared. 😊❤
An amazing treat,
Thank you so much !
Such a fantastic video awesome work.
Amazing video as always, it's so good that we get to learn about other cultures, and I'm always blown away at the massive diversity of China, its people and culture. Awesome!
What a magical place. Just gorgeous!!💚
Awesome to see the green on top of all those apartment buildings! Not a bad spot to spend an extra couple of days! Thanks as always for sharing Yan
So beautiful. Love seeing China in these genuine vlog/documentaries. 100 times better than clickbaity titles and thumbnail ❤❤

thanks to drone photography, your human interest story together with great aerial landscape video makes a great total package - and traveling like a local speaker allows us non-Chinese to get a feel for that life. Great work - please keep it up !
Everyone is so calm and nice there, thanks for showing us their way of life.
WOW this is really unseen China. Yan, thank you for sharing such a amazing video, you are amazing too.
I’ve heard about the “Walking Marriages” in China and I’m so looking forward to the next episode - you tell so interesting stories and we come so close to the people ❤
They are Mosuo people(摩梭人),most of whom counted as Naxi ethnic(纳西族), they love around the Lugu lake(泸沽湖), not very far from the place in the video
This episode is absolutely next-level, Yan. You’re the best 😊👍
Brings back such precious memories of my times in China. From Wushan in Northern Chongqing I visited so many small rural traditional villages and can only wish I could visit this village. Very nice. Thank you.
Nice, this how rural China looks like. The Chinese seem to be friendly.
they are, I visited in march, they are incredibly nice and friendly
准确来说,这是一个非典型的内陆少数民族山区村庄,在中国的几乎99%地方村庄都并不呈现出这种独特的状态。
As a Chinese, I would like to say that this is not the general situation in rural China. Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture is one of the poorest places in China .The rural areas, especially those in several coastal provinces, have developed quite well, and the blogger's hometown Anhui's rural areas are also good.
@@liberal8083 展现一下中国最贫困村庄也没有什么问题,这个村庄,特别是木里市的环境其实已经不错了,相比很多国外的乡下地方。最少在最偏僻贫困的地方,仍然是干干净净的,比印度好多了。

Very different China. Thanks Yan for making vlogs on these unseen locations of chinna
The Little Chinese , getting a little drunk , such a wonderful family , hardworking and so nice :-)
Thanks for this video, you make me travelling through your video. Much appreciated
Hi Yan!!!!! thanks again!!!!! Your kindness will be rewarded one day, well done!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Love the old village. Hopefully china is protecting these heritage treasures.
Interesting and lovely village. The view is amazing from the houses.
Very nice and informative video. Thanks for sharing. It is interesting learning the diverse culture, religion, writing and language among the different minorities in China.
This was so interesting to watch that I really look forward to the next one.
I really enjoy your videos on rural China and small villages. There is so much about China and the wonderful people that Americans don't know. I truly wish Americans would read and experience Chinese culture. It is fascinating and the people hospitable and friendly. I lived in several cities in China teaching English for 4 years. Never happier.
Hi Yan….thanks again for this really special post. I noticed that in almost every place you have shown, the standard of cleanliness is generally very good. Also although people are poor, there is no extreme poverty and people are very pleasant and they look happy . They do not moan about their conditions at all and are also usually generous. Thank you. Looking forward to the next…very curious .
