Most of these Russians who escaped were followers of the Tsar. At first, there were a large number of them, and even entire cavalry and artillery units joined the warlord troops in China at that time and became mercenaries. When the Soviet army entered Manchuria in 1945, most of them were massacred and only a few survived.

I liked this video the same way as many other videos of yours. It's simple, warm and really well coming across.I liked how Chinese people with Russian origin treat their heritage. It's the aspect of their life and identity, not the overwhelming reason to hurt others. I wish Russians could appreciate what they have the same way you do.
My deskmate in middle school was a Russian minority. From appearance alone, he looked almost no different from Han Chinese, except for occasional subtle differences from certain angles. Haha, since I’m from Xinjiang, I was always surprised during the school’s ethnic registration process to discover that many classmates I couldn’t tell were ethnic minorities. For example, the most outgoing boy in our class turned out to be Miao! I always thought there were no Miao people in Xinjiang😂 No wonder his skin was a bit darker-I thought it was just because he was so active and got a lot of sun. there were also classmates whose ethnicities were more obvious, like Uyghurs and Kazakhs. Hui classmates were also easy to recognize because they ate in the halal section of the school cafeteria. Now that I’m studying in Germany, I sometimes miss my days in Xinjiang, especially our cafeteria. 😂 There were so many delicious halal dishes-I especially loved Ding Ding Fried Noodles.
Of course, he’s of mixed heritage😂 The presence of the Russian minority in Xinjiang is due to Tsarist Russia’s colonial rule in the region. Over so many years, they naturally intermarried with local people. In fact, the various ethnic groups in China are essentially of “mixed heritage”, including the Uyghurs. The Uyghurs were formed around the 16th century, stemming from the Huihus who migrated westward in the 9th century, Han Chinese who settled here during the Han Dynasty, Mongols who arrived during the Mongol Empire, Tibetans, Khitans, and local tribes who lived alongside each other for long periods. People have always been coming and going in this land-maybe because our harsh climate makes it hard to stay put😂

The fog-lined hill sides are amazingly beautiful. Life there is so simple. People work with their hands to make a living.
A dog is such a good travelling companion.
Have fun at the Russian-Chinese border.
Such a beautiful part of the world. Thanks for sharing with us Yan. - Canada
Chasing the sunset freely and wildly is the best thing I've heard this morning. Keep doing what you love! ❤
Your videos are amazing. I am in Florida. I was born in Sri Lanka. Keep up your good work.
I have to put in a comment after watching the video. . everything is so beautiful & very interesting ... I believe you when you said it's hundred times more beautiful in real life TQ
Handheld drone footage looks pretty good too!
Hello from Russia, Moscow! It's super interesting video! I'd really love to see a Russian ethnographical expedition to this village someday - there's so much to learn - how culture, language evolves, etc. , amazing!
You're doing a great job, good luck in your future travellings! ❤❤❤
P.S. Potato bread maybe is not the most typical Russian bread but yes, we eat it, it's very smooth 😊
You also have to try corn bread and mustard bread one day, delicious! =)
In UK we eat a lot of bread, mainly white but I have a bread recipe book that has lots of bread recipes in with different types of vegetables cooked into it: potato, carrot, parsnip, beetroot, spinach, and squash. And nobody needs to choke😅
Wow how you know English if you are Russian
Thank you. I keep telling people about your videos which are fantastic!
👏👏👏
The borderland is wonderfully vast and golden! It reminds me of a Chinese movie about the life and work of a border guard... Thank you very much, Yan🤝

25:43 i totally believe that its 100 times more beautiful to see it with your own eyes, but its also amazing to see on video, so thank you for sharing it!
When I hear that intro music I know we're in for a treat! I hope that when you reach the age of the bread-making granny you will be able to write a book about your adventures.
Such a cozy place to live in, I'm a chinese descent living in Jakarta. Good job on recapturing the beautiful landscape. Would like to chill with a glass of hot coffee there one day, that'd be nice.
