Yan your videos have an immense impact to western people who are open minded and look to China - something which is new for us. You show us that China is beautiful and rich of culture which is mostly older than the whole western world. The rural life in this video touches me so much that I often cry. It reminds how life was hundreds of years before in my country. We are social beings and we can't live happily all alone. Now I love China so much!!!
We must be aware that the US spreads a lot of bad news over China in order to prepare the world to accept their military actions. We are under constant influence of US propaganda.

A few years ago a group of us from Singapore and Malaysia travelled to Yunnan to photograph the rice terraces of Yuanyang. This place is a favourite with photographers from all over China. I remembered getting up early in the morning, at 4.30am to reach the rice terraces so that we can be in the front to set up our tripods and cameras. By 6.00am there were already large groups of photographers behnd us. As the sun rose above the horizon, the whole landscape has an almost a surreal look to it. The younger generation is changing, and they all yearn for urban life. Because cities provide convenient living and diverse entertainment options. Perhaps a few people will return to the countryside, just like me. But at least when there is enough money, it is possible to return to rural life. The younger generation no longer wants to live a difficult agricultural life. Especially the place mentioned in the video, because farmland is built on hills. Mechanized farming is simply not possible. Unless the government builds roads, agricultural machinery can be allowed to pass through. But this will involve some people's land being occupied, and the government may pay more money. Land owners are also unwilling to contribute as road land.
Thanks for sharing the vlog about the Hani people in Yunnan.👍 Your video took me back to this extremely kind and beautiful ethnic group. I visited a Hani village in the Honghe region as a backpacking college student thirty years ago. I was fortunate to meet the village chief, a wise and amiable old man. Although I couldn't understand his words, I conveyed greetings and communicated through a local guide. Upon learning I was from Shanghai and Nanjing, the old man warmly inquired about the cities and invited me to share an early lunch. It was the best Hani-style semi-dried beef I've ever tasted. Hani girls are healthy and beautiful, with incredibly lush hair and braids. Their braids are as thick as a girl's arm when coiled on top of their heads. While climbing a mountain together, I asked one girl if these beautiful braids were entirely made from their own hair. She generously unraveled her hair bun to show me, then skillfully braided it again. I was convinced their hair is three times more abundant than an average person's. They shared their picnic food with me, taught me to play a leaf flute, and made me feel as friendly as siblings. Thirty years have passed, and seeing the improved life of the Hani people brings me immense joy.

I really enjoyed your trip in this village. Thank you for sharing the video with us. You got 1 LIKE from me. Have a nice trip and stay safe.
I have been watching half a dozen of your episodes in the past few days. They are all excellent. You have used simple words to describe the beautiful and historic sceneries. Well done and keep up with your amazing work. 👏👏
My grandma's wake service in her village was like having a big feast everyday till her burial. She was honoured with huge crowds of villagers during her funeral of grand sent off in China with the huge expenses sponsored by my brother from Singpore.
Thank you for this realistic views of rural China...i like the fact that Chinese government also paying attention to the rural areas...developing them as agriculture is the backbone of every society,'s food stability.
Such an interesting video about Yunnan's smaller villages. The lifestyle is more like a village, simpler and closer to the agriculture. Yet it is easy to see the warmth and hospitality from the people. It is lovely scenery, made even more so by the friendly people. It is good the authorities are modernizing homes and buildings--it is important to improve quality of life & opportunity for rural parts of China. Well done ❤
Your programme making skills and editing get better each episode. I am learning so much about China that I never knew before. It many ways, it is an unknown country to us in Europe, despite (or perhaps because of) assorted Empires! My mother was born in British Burma and lived there till she went to University - her education ended abruptly when the Japanese invaded. My grandfather (an Irish civilian) led convoys of American weapons into Yunnan province from Lashio (Myanma) for Chiang Kai-shek. When the Japanese invaded, he thought to take his family into the hills of Yunnan to stay with missionary friends, but they went to India instead. (My mother thinks he wanted to take them to a place called Talli Fu, or something similar sounding, but I can't find it. It may well have changed name, of course.) But despite my mother's family living in Burma, India, Malaysia, and China for over a hundred years, I know so little about "Little China" - the ordinary China of ordinary people. Your programmes are simply fascinating.
I think the 'Talli Fu' you mentioned could be Dali (Yunnan, a few hours drive south of the famous Li Jiang). My father and my Mom were evacuated from Burma when the Japanese invaded then took over Burma during WWII . They were stationed in Dali where my father became the liaison officer for the Allied Armies of the British/Burma, American and Chinese. Later on, the family including my oldest sister (one year old then) were evacuated to India by the British Air Force or Army air transport to Calcutta, India. They stayed in India until the war ended then went back to Burma. By the way my home town is Lashio, Shan State. I've lived in the west for almost 40 years now.

Yan, thumbs up for your video. I used to think only Java, Indonesia has terraced rice fields. But, here Yunnan also has, and by Hani ethnic group. I recall when my grandma died in Laos, my family also threw meals for one whole month. Anyone who past by could join us and ate. This was at all not a potluck, and we are Han ethnic. But, the mentality behind the event might well be different. Some might see this event as a way to show off the wealth of the deceased family. At the time, we were the richest Chinese in Laos, hence the richest too. Now, our family spread like Jew all over the world, ranging from France, China, US, Australia, Canada to me in Singapore. Perhaps still a handful behind in Laos.
Most likely the Hani tribe is the ancestor to a lot of ethnic groups in today's Indonesia. Our history education here in Indonesia also taught us that native Indonesians used to came from Yunnan.

Well done ❤
我是四川人 我把你视频看完了 哈哈哈哈 几年前 我骑车跑遍了成都周边的县和市 省外只是三两天的旅游去了 你现在做的事情是我一直想做的事情 挺有意思的 加油
It may well have changed name, of course.)
But despite my mother's family living in Burma, India, Malaysia, and China for over a hundred years, I know so little about "Little China" - the ordinary China of ordinary people.
I've lived in the west for almost 40 years now.
i just finished the video and omg that is the most beautiful video i have seen. the drone shots were amazing and so vast. my jaw was honestly dropped. thank you for sharing that with us.
Blood sweat and tears to put all those terraces in are something. Very interesting.
This video is an eye-opener, where we really get to know the real rural China. Life is still backward and food is basic only. However, I note that the people are very happy with their way of life. Certainly, the government has done a lot to improve their standard of living. The natural surroundings are very beautiful and awesome. Keep showing us more of beautiful rural China
the food is fantastic
Thanks!
Thank you for your support :)
It's so beautiful and the people are very friendly.
Yes, so many amazing things to see in China.
Awesome video content as usual. Seriously Ms. Yan, you may not realised it but you are really a natural born film maker with an excellent story telling talent. Looking forward to your next video.
Yes waiting for the next one
Yes she can narrate on the go unscripted and so naturally. A rare talent indeed.
These people are so welcoming and friendly. Great community life.
Good music choice. No noise pollution. Nicely edited. The level of a professional documentary level.
Love to Great China 🇨🇳 from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Good morning, Little Beauty.
The place is beautiful. The shots of the terraced fields are stunningly beautiful.
The most BEAUTIFUL place on earth is their rice fields. They might not be rich with money but they are rich with beauty.
Just a word of thank you to Yan, U are bubbly cute little and never failed to continuously bring joy and knowledge to all of us in this channel. May Heaven continue to be with you. Keep safe and healthy dear❤
13:00 we have like that house in my childhood
Wood and mud house
Smoking meet, fish and stories area above the fireplace
I missed my childhood memories
当地人真的很友善,博主也很有亲和力
Very simple , a hundred years of tradition still exist. Nice...
So beautiful 😍, looks like a beautiful water color painting ❤. Beautiful people everywhere ❤️
Life in villages is basically the same, all over the world, despite the external differences. These scenes from China look familiar to me, here in Greece - even the village gotherings, when everybody contribute and eat together, is a very common sight in celebrations, marriages, fairs etc.!
Yan, I love your videos. You always get such amazing drone shots. Thank you.
Wonderful experience. Lovely to see the villages being brought out of poverty, too, rather than allowing them to become abandoned.
Thanks Yan. The rice terraces are absolutely beautiful.
China has many many amazing tourist attractions which should be carefully promoted.
The people seem so honest and nice. The singing was great.
You have brought a beautiful view of China that I will never travel to. It is such a beautiful place and the people are smiling and friendly. I wish we could all be on one wave length of building a better world for everyone, it could be done. Thank you for sharing this view you are so sweet. Hugs and love to you all Dixie Anderson in Oregon USA
Yan, did you to graduate from the university with a film degree? Your video production is on another level...just outstanding, mesmerizing and tempting!!! Your encounters with locals is so natural and you seem so genuinely appreciative of all they share with you. Love every bit of this video...
Nope I graduated with a PHD in Geography :D
@@littlechineseeverywhere Your English is so good that I used to think your university major was English.
Thank you for making wonderful videos on Chinese society culture, great job 👍🇨🇳♥️💖🇨🇳🥰👍
I just started watching and have fallen in love with traveling with this beautiful soul and China. I live in Florida USA where we just got hit with two hurricanes a week apart so traveling to China has been a breath of fresh air after seeing all the destruction where I live close to the beach. Thank you lovely lady.
Thank you for your time and the lovely filming of China. I enjoyed it very much.
Beautiful village with beautiful hard working people may they alway have good fortune
I'm watching your videos of rural China from Australia hoping I can visit soon. I love your interactions with the local communities. I'm from a farming background but left for the cities and traveled the world yet have never forgotten the tough and under-rated lives of those responsible for feeding the nations's people
Yan's videos of life in China are ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT - nobody does it better - a TRUE PLEASURE to
watch and to listen to. I live in Asia and my late husband was Chinese so every episode is especially
meaningful. Thank you SO MUCH for posting!!
The sea of clouds and rice terraces are so beautiful.
Great rural life..same as in India..low income rural economy..but happy social life..

I'm a 74yo Australian male and have just found your channel. Your English is impeccable. You're also a very attractive young lady ❤❤. I will follow your journey's. Love from Will Burns Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
The view of those clouds is so surreal, one would imagine a deity is going to emerge from them. I think many people have discovered the beauty of the China's countryside and its people through your videos.
Exactly 💯
Watching this video, suddenly dawn on me ingenuity of human, it true all over the world ! Not having great plain like in America doesn't stopped Chinese people from farming! It's back breaking, but you survived!
If someone ever asks me for more information about China outside of Shanghai or Beijing. Yours is the channel I will direct to.
It would be wonderful to have YOU organising tours group - bring people together from different countries to visit China in near future. How about that?😊😊
Part of my daily routine is watching a video from Yan about Fascinating videos about beautiful unknown China and its hard working friendly rural people. 🙂
I'm moving to china soon and I'm already making my list for traveling 🥺🥺❤️ thanks to you
Yan, you have a knack for natural unscripted narration besides your drone skills. 👍🏼
I so love the humbleness and the hospitality of the People from Yunnan. I wish that their new generations would continue their traditions.
The filmography in this video, particularly those drones shots of the terraces--WoW! Really spectacular video.
Thank you so much :)
I have just returned from a fabulous 10 days in Xizang (Tibet) thanks to your inspiration. So now catching up on the episodes which I missed as you are number one on my list. As always, another excellent program. Like yourself, no matter where I go in China, I am made welcome and met with so much kindness and generosity.
Another stunning video Yan. You never disappoint and I love how you share village life and your explainations. Can't wait until the next video! ♥
Chinese hospitality is their natural character.
I found your videos on accident, but they are just soooo fascinating. No matter where you go you seem to fit right in and belong. I like the idea of belonging somewhere, but being free everywhere must be great.
That has to be a great place for children. I was raised in a rural area. Better than a city.
I enjoy watching your videos showing the interior regions of China with its natural beauty and the simple hard working people.
Hi Yan, I am from Indonesia. Glad to see your video. CMIW, According to experts, the ancestors of the Indonesian people came from Yunnan and from Indo-China. So its like see our self. Suprisingly some of foods is similar in both of Yunnan and lndonesia. Keep making video Yan. Hopefully I can visit China, esp. Yunnan. Thankyou. ❤❤❤
Wow, that is interesting...
@@tdeo2141 There is nothing surprising, many Southeast Asian nations originated from China, so we all call them brother nations in China
Komen cerdas. Bisa dilihat sendiri betapa miripnya dgn segala pernik budaya di Indonesia (baju, makanan, sawah terasering, piara kebo, dll).
Besar kemungkinan suku Hani inilah nenek moyang suku Jawa, Toraja, dll.
I see all of those terraces and I imagine how many generations of families have worked on them over the years. It's just amazing.
Wow... It's rare for a vlogger to actually engage with the local people and understand them. So glad your video popped up. I will watch more.
It's amazing ! I love the rural lives of Chinese people
Wow & Wow ❤ yes I liked your presentation ! What a beautiful mountain, village, people, everything ! Thanks for the architectural descriptions, how they live, share and make ends meet. I believe you and know they work hard. 雲海 and the terraces are extraordinary. All the generations’ accomplishment. The everyday dynamism of women in what makes it all tick.
Thank you so much ! Once again,
Looking forward 。。。
What a magnificent view.
A wonderful video! The house tour, big dinner with all the neighbors, stunning aerial photography, all beautiful and fascinating. I know everyone keeps saying it, but the photography, the music, everything just goes together perfectly! Thank you for bringing us along on your journeys.
Miss Yan, I am very grateful to you for such splendid, amazing video. I was born in India. My father had immigrated here more than 85 years ago from Meixin, Guangzhou. Had a chance to visit my father village in 2017. Find your video very emotional, informative. God bless you.
I am from Brazil and I Love the different places you show us on your channel.
And I can understand everything you are speaking. Don't worry too much about your english.
Ita a beautiful place to visit. Love your vlog. Thanks for showing this gem.
the scenery is amazing but what I love the most in you videos are the people. People are always so interesting, your interaction with them is what I guess everyone would like to do but often is not able to, because of different reasons (language barrier, shyness, fear of disturbing). Thanks to you, I really wish to learn more about Chinese culture
Many children in the video are shy about the camera. They always hide from the camera.
You can be the best RUclipsr in China, much better than government paid so-called professional ones. You work so hard and produce the good quality videos
I really enjoy your commentary especially the drone footage is simply amazing
Traditional Hani shirt with the converse high tops is such a DRIP!
