    I got the vp2, 8kx doesnt work on amd cards anymore, but still have no regrets with the vp2.
    Its a good versatile headset I feel like, using cable for my sim/ elite dangerous etc moments and wireless for roomscale type games for extra immersion and excellent tracking with index controllers :) but do agree that vp2 probable isnt the best choice for flight sims only..

    Get a thinner Facepad. Just like the Reverb G2, VP2 comes with a thick one-size-fits-all facepad so people with glasses can wear it right out of the box. If you don't wear glasses, a thinner facepad completely changes the game for Vive Pro 2. I haven't tried the VR Cover facepad that MRTV recommends so can't comment on that, but I use the Kiwi Design 6mm Facepad (made for Vive 1, but VP2 has the same facepad form factor so it fits just fine). It eliminates the binocular overlap (I have a 59mm IPD, YMMV), and the VFOV is big enough that the top of the display is completely out of my FOV, and the HFOV is about 10° wider.

      @nicolacasali8304 3 года назад

      @@VRFlightSimGuy I see you refer to it as reprojection? I assumed that you were not referring to Vive Console's Motion Smoothing option, which is completely unusable for me on my 3080Ti. It produces massive pixelation. It's one of the reasons I'm returning the headset. It's working for you though. Interesting.

    • @VRFlightSimGuy
      @VRFlightSimGuy  3 года назад

      @@nicolacasali8304 Yes. That's exactly what I'm referring to. At 45fps is works well, at a 3rd frame it gets pixelated at 22.5fps. So it's not really the headset but your low fps that's causing it.

    • @nicolacasali8304
      @nicolacasali8304 3 года назад

      @@VRFlightSimGuy SteamVR's motion smoothing is lightyears ahead of Vive's own motion smoothing. Not many system's will be able to achieve 45 fps in MSFS2020 in VR without turning down many settings. Switching to High resolution is unacceptably blurry. I get 40 fps on my Index, which is nicely smoothed out to 80 fps with few artifacts. Even at 30 fps at a target of 90 on my Index there's less artifacts than on the VP2.
      Maybe they will resolve all the issues in 6 months time. By then we may see a Valve Index 2.

    • @VRFlightSimGuy
      @VRFlightSimGuy  3 года назад +1

    Thanks for your videos. Very informative!
    I am unable to justify the silly prices to upgrade to a 3 series rtx card so have to make do with my setup as is:
    RTX 2080super, Ryzen 7, 32Gb Ram, 49” curved monitor 5120x1440 but thinking of upgrading from my Rift S if my PC is up to it. I get a serious case of scuba mask effect with the rift S which spoils the immersive experience. I wear glasses and have the lenses as close as possible without touching my glasses. I would love some advice. Could add a Ryzen 9 CPU if it would gain much. Keep the videos coming. I am based in Reading and have been using Microsoft flight sims since the very early days and also have Xplane 11 with Orbx GB scenery. Struggling with stutter in VR with fs2020 and no end of tweaking seems to get rid of it but frame rates are good.

      @@VRFlightSimGuy Hi, no they are vertical straight lines and I believe often called pixel inversion. The best description is imagine seeing vertical only SDE when moving your head. They are faint and very tiny, like lines of pixels, but very distracting and immersion breaking. It's been visible for some on the Index and G2 too.
