barnabus stinson, also known as barney stinson, who is now attending in this epic rap battle against sheldon cooper, is a fictional character portrayed by neil patrick harris and created by carter bays and craig thomas for the cbs television series how i met your mother (2005-2014).
one of the show's main characters, barney is known for his brash, manipulative and opinionated personality. he is a womanizer known for his love of expensive suits, laser tag, and scotch whisky. the character uses many 'plays' in his 'playbook' to barney stinson rap battle help him have sex with women. barney's catchphrases included "suit up!", "what up?!", barney stinson rap battle "stinson out", "legendary", barney stinson rap battle "wait for it" (often combining the two as "legen-wait for it-dary!"), "daddy's home" and "challenge accepted".
critics have praised the character and credit harris’ performance for much of the show's success. barney is considered the show's breakout character
barney stinson is one of five main characters on how i met your mother. he is a manipulative, oversexed businessman in his thirties who always wears a suit, likes women with "daddy issues" and is frequently willing to offer his (sometimes hypocritical) barney stinson rap battle opinion. throughout the earlier seasons, barney is a huge womanizer, and has been described as a "high-functioning sociopath" by his best friend, ted mosby (josh radnor). barney has a plethora of strategies and rules designed to meet women, barney stinson rap battle sleep with them, and discard them. through several seasons of the show, four of the main characters are couples, as ted began dating robin scherbatsky (cobie smulders) and ted's roommate marshall eriksen (jason segel) becomes engaged and barney stinson rap battle later married to lily aldrin (alyson hannigan). this leaves barney the only single character, and, according to harris, barney is "resentful" that the other characters have paired up. later on, in season 5, he dates robin. they end up breaking up not long after, once they both realize they are making barney stinson rap battle one another miserable.

I like how it's implied that Sheldon cat fished Barney. You can see when he asks Ted where the blondes are hidden cause he came here looking for blondes. You can also see it when he says that he's ending this speed date because that means he was originally trying to date Sheldon but was deterred. It would also explain why he started this rap battle cause he was angry that he got cat fished.

Bravo to Mat4yo and Zawesome for bringing Sheldon to life so WELL, as well as the background designers. Literally one of single best portrayals in any of your battles. I'm very impressed because he's such a difficult character to pull off in terms of body mannerisms, speech, etc. Putting that into some fast rap parts and just getting the portrayal? Good shit, haha. Can't wait to see more from the crew, Dustin! :D Great work to everyone involved! ESPECIALLY Sheldon's editing in his first verse haha.

Have barely watched either show, and definitely not a TBBT fan but Sheldon 10000% won. Even the Penny line which is referencing TBBT was amazing and took me off-guard. Very well written.
(Also loved that "the line" was included since "the crazy/hot scale" is such a well-known scene, I hoped it would be included.)

I fell in love with this when I heard the audio on the winter collection album. Now seeing the video it makes it even better, the costumes are on point and the backgrounds/camerawork add so much more to this epic battle of the two sitcom characters who defined my childhood. Sheldon won without a doubt.

This rap battle was surprisingly fun and the raps were great. I really enjoyed it as I know both these characters as I watched their respective shows but for some it may be more obscure. However, I like that Freshy Kanal is extremely creative with their rap battles. Can't wait for the next one.

This is seriously one of the most underrated channels of RUclips. 70k subs, yet has the same quality as ERB with an amazing producing team and cast.
I would classify them more as ERB Lite, but yeah. They are pretty underrated and deserve more exposure.. They need to do a little more to distinguish themselves from the ERB product though in my opinion. They have too much talent to be known as a lesser clone of the GOAT.
