Glad you mentioned the car wash thing cause I thought about it every time they got dirty. How has it taken this long for them to introduce this concept. If cars are like humans in this world, don’t they need to take a shower/car wash everyday?
Humans don't need wash everyday? We demand it since were in a modern society and nobody likes to be dirty and stinky, but outside of that everyday shower isn't really necessary, for most of the history if we washed, it was like once a week/month
Also, in The Legend, the Hunters say they are looking for "Bigfoot", who, I didn't realise when I first heard the mention, is also a real-life monster truck. It took me not too long to find that out.
I actually know about the Bigfoot monster truck from an obscure animated series called “Meteor and the Mighty Monster Trucks.” I can’t remember what channel it was on, I think it Qubo. When you say stop motion monster movies, I hope you mean King Kong because Godzilla is all suit-mation. The original King Kong used models for stop motion animation.
3:27 Love the video! It's awesome to see Pixar at work to give Cars some love, especially with the animation. But this personally irked me. Films like King Kong and Beast From 20,000 Fathoms utilized high amounts of stop motion animation for their monsters. Meanwhile Godzilla (even the 1954 original) specifically used a rubber suit actor. The film has a 1-second stop motion sequence involving his tail but by no means is the movie even close to being considered stop motion.
15:39 The licensed models stood out even more like the Nissan Figaros and Pugeot 206s, those were never sold in the US so I don't think they would be native to the US in that universe. I'm sure the cars immigrate but the amount of times those models were used were a little excessive.
I get wits you mean with the 50’s monster movie bit but unfortunately godzilla was not a good choice as he was 99.9% of the time never done with stop motion baring one small moment in the original and one moment in the original kong vs Godzilla
I loved it it was a nice good little show that put me in a good feel also it's short so it was fun. I don't need every show to have some story and plot cause mater and mcquuen are good characters and they shine on the road together to enjoy it.
I would have loved to see Mack in the Trucks episode, sure it wouldn't make sense why he is there but I feel like Pixel would have animated him as a cameo in Mater's fantasy
20:35 It's such a shame that not a single one of the characters from the THQ video games have ever been acknowledged in the series... aside from Mater National characters being repurposed as background characters in Tokyo Mater.
8:37 in the old mobile game Cars: Fast as Lightning, released in 2014, you actually could unlock a car wash that gave you free EXP every couple of hours. And you could even send some cars in there for some extra goodies. If anything, those two episodes of Mater wanting to be better at stuff could serve as a hint of foreshadowing to the final episode where it’s revealed, via his sister, that he’s always had somewhat of a competitive streak.
Cars 2 is a guilty pleasure for me. Probably because I loved it as a kid and Larry the Cable Guy is one of my favorite comedians. I'm not gonna say this guy's wrong to dislike it, but I look back on it fondly
8:24 everyone just lost the race, most people would look at that car and go it's not fast, thats the Mercedes T-80 or designed to look like it, the T-80 was tested to reach up to 750 kph for an event run but was immediately cancelled because they had to prepare for WWll and because it took so long the T-80 was discontinued shoved into a garage and due to WWll MB never made any more after that, the car was so famous a unnamed Austrian painter unofficially called it the Schwarzer Vogel (Black Bird) and was to be painted in Dutchland colours with the failed Austrian painters logo badge on it 😐
To me the Disney+ series Cars on the Road reusing the Guido model for a background or a minor character is kinda like if a Sonic production set in the game continuity used the Knuckles model for background mobian characters or if a Star Wars production had Yoda's Species as background alien characters.
3:25-3:33 I would say this is more along the lines of a Ray Harryhausen movie, not Godzilla. I think someone else may have said this, but Godzilla did NOT use stop motion.
"How do siblings work in this universe?" Well, that's obvious. Every vehicle that's under the same brand name is a nuclear relative (moms, dads, brothers, sisters), while related subsidiary brands would be more distant relatives (cousins, aunts, uncles). A predecessor vehicle would be the parent of a successor vehicle. Mater and his estranged sister are both models from the same brand, whatever that is. Example: Chevrolet Corvettes would be siblings of Tahoes, Suburbans, Silverados, Impalas, and other Chevrolet models. More distant relatives of Chevrolet models would include Cadillac CTS's and Escalades, and GMC Yukons and Sierras. (Cadillac, GMC, and Chevrolet are subsidiaries under GM) Example: Ford Mustangs would be the direct relatives of Ford Expeditions, Ford F-150s, Ford Fusions, Ford GTs, and other Ford models. Ford Broncos would be dads of Expeditions. Lincoln Navigators, MKXs, Aviators, Town Cars, and other Lincoln models would be more distant relatives. (Lincoln is a subsidiary of Ford) Example: Ferrari F50s would be the parents of Ferrari F430s. Ferrari F40s would be the grandparents of Ferrari F430s. Lamborghini Gallardo and Murcielagos would be brothers and sisters. Uhh, there. I answered your question.
1:51 You weren't asking that question with Rusty and Dusty from the first Cars movie and they're brothers in that movie and in the third Cars movie also despite being different vehicles, so why are you asking it now?
I'm sorry but my inner geek needs to speak out: at 3:33 you mention "Godzilla" as one of the old classic stop motion movies. This was one of the worst false examples you could've used, as the original Godzilla was specifically known for NOT using stop-motion and instead inventing a new style known as Suit-mation, which became a staple of the series to come.
11:42-When I heard that characters from the Disney Planes spin-off films including Dusty Crophopper would be appearing in Cars on the Road, I was super excited for an episode where Lightning McQueen and Dusty Crophopper meet each other for the very first time.

Meanwhile Godzilla (even the 1954 original) specifically used a rubber suit actor. The film has a 1-second stop motion sequence involving his tail but by no means is the movie even close to being considered stop motion.
Idgaf about this series at all but when you talk about it somehow I get so hyped to hear about it 🤣
15:39 The licensed models stood out even more like the Nissan Figaros and Pugeot 206s, those were never sold in the US so I don't think they would be native to the US in that universe. I'm sure the cars immigrate but the amount of times those models were used were a little excessive.
I haven’t seen this yet, but I can agree that some of these things are basically in the Cars 2 universe
Technically Godzilla was not stop motion it was suit Mation 3:30
I love the Cars franchise and I love everything about this review!
Did you know that the whale car wash was going to be in cars 1 and salt flats in cars 3 there are some concept arts of them!
I get wits you mean with the 50’s monster movie bit but unfortunately godzilla was not a good choice as he was 99.9% of the time never done with stop motion baring one small moment in the original and one moment in the original kong vs Godzilla
I can't wait for the tatmr reupload
I loved it it was a nice good little show that put me in a good feel also it's short so it was fun. I don't need every show to have some story and plot cause mater and mcquuen are good characters and they shine on the road together to enjoy it.
I would have loved to see Mack in the Trucks episode, sure it wouldn't make sense why he is there but I feel like Pixel would have animated him as a cameo in Mater's fantasy
Fun fact: this is the first time where he doesn’t mention or show, anything relating to Thomas & Friends
20:35 It's such a shame that not a single one of the characters from the THQ video games have ever been acknowledged in the series... aside from Mater National characters being repurposed as background characters in Tokyo Mater.
Loving the Vulfpeck as background music
This was a great video. I really want to see you do the same style of video on the incredibles
4:58 Didn’t lightning McQueen flip around by jumping in his cone hotel room in cars 1?
Cars 2 is a guilty pleasure for me. Probably because I loved it as a kid and Larry the Cable Guy is one of my favorite comedians. I'm not gonna say this guy's wrong to dislike it, but I look back on it fondly
Could’ve just skipped this entire show if they took a plane
That would have been boring.
As McQueen said in Cars 1: “where’s the entertainment in that?”
8:24 everyone just lost the race, most people would look at that car and go it's not fast, thats the Mercedes T-80 or designed to look like it, the T-80 was tested to reach up to 750 kph for an event run but was immediately cancelled because they had to prepare for WWll and because it took so long the T-80 was discontinued shoved into a garage and due to WWll MB never made any more after that, the car was so famous a unnamed Austrian painter unofficially called it the Schwarzer Vogel (Black Bird) and was to be painted in Dutchland colours with the failed Austrian painters logo badge on it 😐
Here's my opinion mcqueen and mater could meet some of the piston cup racers and their pit crew teams from cars 1
To me the Disney+ series Cars on the Road reusing the Guido model for a background or a minor character is kinda like if a Sonic production set in the game continuity used the Knuckles model for background mobian characters or if a Star Wars production had Yoda's Species as background alien characters.
Especially since Guido is supposed to be a fictional Italian forklift model that is supposed to be rare in the United States of America.
3:25-3:33 I would say this is more along the lines of a Ray Harryhausen movie, not Godzilla. I think someone else may have said this, but Godzilla did NOT use stop motion.
Why did you capitalize "Not"
@@YouAreASadStrangeMan I did that for emphasis.
Number one!
Good review!
the thing i love most about your re write is including Bubba, he has been forgotten since the comics.
There are straws on the drink glasses.
4:58 this part made me laugh when I binged watched the episodes with my sister 💀💀💀💀
"How do siblings work in this universe?"
Well, that's obvious.
(Cadillac, GMC, and Chevrolet are subsidiaries under GM)
Example: Ford Mustangs would be the direct relatives of Ford Expeditions, Ford F-150s, Ford Fusions, Ford GTs, and other Ford models. Ford Broncos would be dads of Expeditions. Lincoln Navigators, MKXs, Aviators, Town Cars, and other Lincoln models would be more distant relatives. (Lincoln is a subsidiary of Ford)
Example: Ferrari F50s would be the parents of Ferrari F430s.
That RV at the 18:45 mark of the video has the same 3D model as one of the RV couple in Planes: Fire & Rescue.
11:42-When I heard that characters from the Disney Planes spin-off films including Dusty Crophopper would be appearing in Cars on the Road, I was super excited for an episode where Lightning McQueen and Dusty Crophopper meet each other for the very first time.
Bro, the old faces also counted as the demolition cars in cars 3
I was sick when it was released so I binged watched it and it did cheer me up has it’s flaws yes but it’s fun
3:30 wth are you on about Godzilla has literally only once used stop motion and that was for like 3 frames in King Kong vs Godzilla
If submarines are whales in the cars universe, I wonder what Grampus would look like in said universe.
I don’t care for Cars on the Road as much as Mater’s Tall Tales, but it was pretty good.
HOLD UP I THOUGHT MATER WAS CRAZY!!!😂😂
I think your take on it is absolutely excellent love the idea with bubba
cars is back
About the human items, McQueen could grip maters tow hook with his tires in cars 2, so a cars front tires could be their hands in this universe.
Okay so I’m a year late but I only realized he used his axle to hook onto his hook, Woops.
