  • Ron Finley is a horticultural artist and social impact evangelist who passionately preaches the gospel of taking back your health, learning how to eat and growing your own food. Based out of South Central L.A., The Ron Finley Project seeks to bring a new way of thinking and new opportunities to people in urban communities through gardening. Simply put, he wants everyone to just "grow some shit"!
    In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

    Gardening is so therapeutic! I love that we are changing the narrative from forced to choice. Earthing in a pace that is unique to the individual is so healing.

      100% I grew 47 bell pepper plants from 2 bell peppers seeds. Only about 30 of them made it but still ive had bell peppers for a while now and they can go from 50 cents to 1 dollar at the store each.

    Planted tomato, lettuce, kale, chilli, passionfruit, avocado, sage, basil, coriander, lavender, parsley to start in my front yard, so when they are big enough my neighbours can benefit too. This is just a start, thanks to you

    I like the story about the kid who had the moment with you about the sunflower because it captures the power of what you started. Also repurposing vacant lots is a form of OCCUPYING. I will bet it makes a significant contribution to community safety!

    All we have to do as individuals is stop feeding the "beast system" and it will starve and rot away.
    Spend your time everyday doing positive things and don't fall into the fear paradigm that they want you trapped in.
    Your mind is the prison and you have the key to unlock the door.
    Peace and blessings....

    Cool, and in LA he can grow year round. I'm stuck in the snow country, so we have to use greenhouses and cold frames. But it's worth it.

    He is doing amazing work. He should be told that food doesnt grow all over the world. Some places simply does not have good soil, enough water or enough sunlight. Nice fantasy though... thinking that his city plan will succeed all over the world. In reality it wont. Still, I tip my hat at this man. he is a visionary...

    • @lawyer-562
      @lawyer-562 4 года назад +11

      Lack of soil is not what prevents food growth. Small minds at the helm that are unable to be innovative definitely ensures that food doesn't grow. We have too many tools at our disposal to even remotely consider such pessimistic views that you wrote but your point was taken. Thanks!

      Food grows were people live. WE need the same thing. You must be taught how to be creative.

      @neish9520 4 года назад +3

      Wow. Your mind seems exceedingly small. Expand it some. You’ll find that our world and tha people in it, AND tha land, is capable and abundant. How YOU think, is what they want us to think. I REFUSE!😑
