Woman at the Well! Before menopause I was always very slim which may have been my natural metabolism. Love belts but having gained, like you, two sizes and a tummy … well. On the other hand, I totally agree with you. I’m 71 in relatively good health, I woke up this morning and haven’t been bombed by Russia. Soo we should count our blessings and be happy we are alive having survived a pandemic! And don’t you just love Alyssa?
I love that you started the vid with mentioning not to overconsume. A lot of content creators talk about not spending an unnecessary amount of money. Even though that is good too, I like this more environmental angle more.

I love the way you think about proportions. I am always attracted to belts and wore them a lot when I was younger. But now my middle is larger -- I am 80! -- and belts don't work so well. I jumped right up from this video and tried a favorite belt with jeans and an open blazer. Voila! Thank you so very very much.

I love belts, but even though I am not overweight…I am short waisted and top heavy. They only work with a jacket or vest overtop, because I need to wear it lower than my natural waist, but I have a grand baby to play with, and need the freedom of taking the jacket/vest off. I need functional clothing….so many “outfit ideas” are not functional for real life. You are a gem. 💎

To answer your initial question, yes we do need content like this. There is so much going on right now that if you worry about the things you can't control you'll lose your mind. I've made small changes and now thanks to you shopping my closet has been my biggest change recently. I've never heard the term before and absolutely love learning how to consume less on your channel. I have bought two things since I found your channel a month ago both from the thrift store and both quality pieces that will last. You're changing how I see fashion. So thank you for the content because I'm learning and run straight to my closet after your videos, not a website to buy cheap fast fashion clothes. I'm even teaching my kids this now. One drop in the ocean causes a ripple.

This was such a great video Alyssa. I have several belts but as I've aged my tummy is a bit more prominent. So the tips in this were excellent for me and also answered a lot of my questions. Your outfits were just beautiful 😍 The knit vest and flowy pants with your gorgeous belt, chefs kiss, stunning. Your belt is perfect for your figure, I love the texture and buckle so much. the belt is exactly what was missing (fouund something similar which is my go to at a thrift store for $2 but the buckle is not chic) I love it comes in cognac!
A leather repair or shoe repair shop may be able to replace the buckle with something else. 🙂

Absolutely loved it from Split to Zagreb and hiking a National Park in between. Only negative was the graffiti on amazing architecture/buildings but it did convey the desire for a creative outlet. So wasn’t totally negative just somewhat misplaced.
Loved this, I’ve always forgotten to add a belt and since watching your videos I’ve found my perfect belt and started wearing it and it makes such a difference to polish my look. Thank you.

I had a very bad experience with Brave Leather. I bought the Fia Vachetta belt 2-3 months ago. Their website claims it takes about 1 week to ship. I did not receive shipping notification after waiting for 2 weeks. I contacted them via emails and phone call. My call was not answered so I left a VM. I waited 2 more weeks, no response. My account was charged the day of purchase. I was in despair and opened a dispute with PayPal. PayPal contacted the company right away. Then I received an email from them. The email said they were going to ship that day. I requested money back which I did get. The whole process was very agonizing and extremely disappointing.
I had a similar experience! I ordered a belt, and they sent me a wrong buckle. I contacted them about this issue, and they said they will send me a replacement and that they will need a couple of days to figure out the return. After that no one reached out to me, and I tried contacting via email and phone, but no one responded. I left a 1 star review on Google today and I mentioned that I initiated a chargeback. They responded to my review within an hour, saying that the factory was closed for a week and today’s the first day (I think it’s BS). Please review them on Google, so more people are aware of their horrible customer service

Lovely belt. Congratulations! I've also found that to lengthen my torso while wearing higher waisted jeans/pants, I'd try to match belt colour to the top to extend that line of colour down. Or vice versa in your white top/black pant & belt combo. You get the punch of the belt without it cutting off necessary 'real estate'. (Sorry, that was a bit long winded!)

I love belts! I have a small collection of vintage belts that I add to once every other year or so. I love finding ones with a unique buckle and metal/woven accents along the length of the belt.

Yes Alyssa this is a much needed video. I wish it came before I made a big investment in a belt. I am now thicker waisted and hippier than I used to be so this wide belt with an oblong buckle does me no justice whatsoever. You’re right, it’s all about proportions. I didn’t realize it until too late. What I really needed, because I am now thicker, is a square belt buckle which would’ve made me look-well-not as wide.

Are used to not wear a belt, I don’t know why. Since everybody’s been styling with belts I’ve been using them and buying a few new ones. It really does make the outfit look more put together.

Beautiful belt! I’ve had my eye on a Loewe belt, but for the same price I can buy four belts from Brave. Wishlist now updated. I appreciate your discussion on belt width too. I am short waisted and have always favored narrower belts but was drawn to a few wide belts recently- turns out they don’t look good on me, while my narrow belts do. You always offer such great advice, and your style is impeccable. Thank you!

A big congrats on your collaboration and with appreciation of your guidelines. That being said; as I am somewhat up in age I find I don't wear a belt that often now however am glad to learn that it is okay to match a belt with your shoes or handbag which IMHO can give a polished look. Also I am going to add; though do have a slim figure I do not have the same waistline I had years ago so have found if one can open up the side seams of the garment to allow the belt to be only visible in the front, it is another way to wear one. i.e.: Works beautifully on a straight cut midi/maxi dress for example. (Hope that makes sense ... 😊.)

Another fantastic video 🌟 When I tested your code for Brave leather, my shipping option changed from free to $15 (a message pops up when I add the code that says the selected shipping option is invalid). Love this! Belts can be a little difficult to navigate.
What do you think about cloth-belts? Like strips of fabrics as belts? I know you've used scarves like that, but what about ribbons and such? I think they make the outfit a little more casual and I like the way I can tie them as tight as I want, but I do admit that they also slide down more easily. Any advice on that?

Hmmm so - i am not a cloth belt person but i LOVE the romanticism a scarf belt brings. Ribbons may stay better with things like denim bc they hang onto the rougher texture but with a trouser I would either use double sided tape or loop the ribbon (try one simple loop OR a simple slip knot) around a few of the belt loops to secure it. Could result in a neat look too!

However, I NEVER wear them! I feel they accent my already large chest

It depends if you're short or long waisted but I would try a standard width belt at your natural waist OR a thicker belt at your hips to balance out your chest and have a fun vava voom 70s vibe:)

I wear belts with pants but when I try to wear one around a blazer, thin sweater or a dress.....my God I look so much bigger and heavier than I really and and instantly hate it. I have a hard time with this. I am long waisted but if I put a wide belt on I look terrible. Idk what I'm doing wrong. Lol. Soooo I avoid it. I also can't wear any dresses that have a defined waist with either a belt or anything bc it inevitably end up around my ribs vs my waist.
