How about a video about which jewelry shapes, lengths and sizes suit different face shapes, hair length, bust size, petites, plus sizes etc, work best. Always enjoy your take on style!
A little over a year ago, at age 55, I started to heal my relationship with my body. I began following dieticians on RUclips to learn how to build a foundational and healthy meal plan. I joined a gym and started strength training and I check my form and technique with a few reputable weight lifting trainers on this app. My RUclips logarithm threw you into the mix-and how grateful I am. I no longer want to look and feel invisible, and your lessons are the another step in discovering the best version of myself. Your suggestions and wisdom can be found on so many pages in my journal, and I have found a sense of confidence and enjoyment around clothes I have never known. The three word style description exercise was life changing. Thank you. It’s not just about the clothes, it’s about building self esteem.
Jennifer that sounds such a joyful journey you’re on 💐just wanted to wish you every possible happiness and good fortune in what you’re doing. Go Jennifer 🌟
Yes, more videos like this. I never thought about it this way BUT almost always add jewelry or scarves to balance my look-just never used that word! Love this! Need to get out my nice jewelry and my watch collection and play!
I don't tend to wear necklaces as they hurt my neck over the day but I have been loving using statement earrings as a way to complete or balance my outfits. I have found that statement earrings have become part of my personal style. I realised that when I'm not feeling an outfit it is usually because I'm not wearing a statement earring. Add a pair and bam, happy with my outfit
First, love that top you are wearing! At 74, have collected on my travels lots of unique cuff bracelets that are the focal point for my monochromatic black or navy or charcoal looks. Most unique earrings I have found are in Lourdes, France. And I always wear a bold ring on opposite side from bracelet.
I FINALLY found my three style words!!! Ive been fretting over it since your video on the topic!!! feminine, semi-structured, saturated colour!! Phew!!!
Yes! A series on balance would be awesome. I feel like I’ve learned a lot by watching some (okay - a lot) of your „shop your closet“ videos but would love an in-depth analysis/inspiration for proportion, texture, patterns, style mixing.. And I can’t wait til my little one is out of the „grabbing everything in reach“ age so I can wear bigger earrings and necklaces again.
Accessories have always been an afterthought for me when it comes to styling. I've been trying to remember to, at the very least, add earrings to my looks because I've realized that for someone who forgets to put jewelry on, I own quite a few pieces. Granted, there are two rings that I NEVER take off as one is a very special gift from my dad and the other an heirloom. But for the most part, it doesn't cross my mind. With all that said, videos like this one are very helpful. By breaking down the variety of ways jewelry can be used to elevate a look, you give someone like me more examples which in turn allows me to look at my pieces differently. Thanks for all the help!
Good morning, Alyssa. This video was very helpful. When I was putting my outfit together last night to go out for dinner, I was in a conundrum about what purse to wear. I realized that just about every purse I have has gold hardware, and I was wearing silver jewelry. I tried several options and I finally found one that had a subtle amount of gold with a contrasting amount of fabric/leather that went with the white part of my outfit. It worked beautifully. Your presentation of ideas truly have helped me. Thank you.
Yes, a video series on jewelry use would be wonderful. Always look forward to your videos. I’ve learned so much by watching your channel. Thank you so much!! ♥️
Sunday and Alyssa go together like honey on plain yogurt! Thank you for this content. I love jewelry and please do that series you mentioned earlier in the video. Also I would love to see you explore minimal, maximal and harmonious as well. I already love how you layered clothes and jewelry. Please explore accessories more, like broches, scarves ect.... As usual and always, you are a pleasure to watch and learn from. Happy Sunday beautiful Beltempo lady :)
I would like to see more ways to wear jewelry as I'm considering adding more pieces to my collection. More examples of people moving around rather than posed would be nice. In a few of the photos I found myself thinking that the look wouldn't be as attractive when the model moved out of the photographer's pose. The videos of you were easier to imagine how the styling works.
I have learned SO much from you, Alyssa, and I now instinctively know when an outfit is right, or finished. I have also learned to appreciate the importance of having an organised wardrobe/closet/jewellery collection so that when somethings pops into your head that you know will complete an outfit you can go straight to it - it makes life so much easier. Best wishes from the UK where we are having an extended, and very sunny, holiday weekend. Clara :))
It's super interesting to hear you verbalise these principles; as I do a lot of these things instinctively but I don't know "why" I'm doing them - they just look "right".
Please continue with more videos like this...💕learning about balancing style inspires my fashion creativity and I play with my accessories more often wearing them in many more ways than before.
You look so elegant in this outfit! You mention some interesting details like wearing longer necklaces with turtlenecks to create that "v" shape. You are a classy lady and I just love your videos.
Love your creativity and advice, you have really made me rethink and I’m changing the way I buy and cherish what I have. Loving vintage and sourcing second hand. Thank you 🙏🏾
Super helpful thank you! Especially the bit about keeping jewelry shorter if there's a prominent belt buckle. It's obvious when you say it but now it explains why some things I've tried to put together didn't work. I personally love to see some more videos like this on some more videos like this on the concept of balance. Thanks Alyssa!
I especially love the way that you put the small pair of earrings on in balancing with the signature two-tone watch together :) Brava! Please make more of this kind of videos to show people like me for making a good balance for everyday slow fashion. Grazie!!!
Thanks Alyssa - Great video, as always. I would love to see some videos on bras - especially the kind that we can wear with a deep V - neck tops - peferably wireless - just a suggestion.
I love how much I learn when watching you. It is experiencing both the pleasure and education of fashion💚. In this way, I would love to learn more on the basic fundamentals of what creates balance, the definitions of tension and harmony, and then, alternatively when deviating from traditional definition intentionally, what this looks like. May seem a bit repetitive but would love to go even deeper than this video content on these subjects with you as a guide. A series would be heaven 💛
Lovely video, Alyssa! I’d like to know more about balancing belt buckles and other metallic accessories from purses, shoes, or little things in the clothes. Also, I’d be wonderful if the photos shown are bigger 🙂
❤️ wow thanks for this. I love how you can give structured advice without telling us what to do. Although I love those videos too, sometimes it’s nice to hear, “you can do what you think is best” 😁
Okay. I cut myself off! Anyhoo, the test being can you wear this piece of jewellery with … SHORTS! And you did! Perfect. I also own your paper clip necklace and I wear it all of the time. Your designs are, quite frankly, the bees’ knees (note: punctuation-wise, I prefer several bees to be involved with this metaphor). Thought: I am a big fan of having the opportunity to mix metals (especially when travelling). Would it be “tacky” to suggest alternating gold and silver paper clips in the one necklace? At any rate, it is so enjoyable to have you present your vlogs in these gorgeous patina-dripping backgrounds. On the other hand, looking forward to having you back in Canada!
I love showing /telling g my friends about you. I love the clothes you show us, the tee's etc.. thank you for teaching me about my wardrobe. It is most rewarding a d less costly learning how to wear .y clothes more than one way. You are a beautiful woman
Cara Alyssa, I have been learning from your videos for a few years - it's always my great pleasure seeing and enjoying your show each time. Yes, balance! I love it and thank you!
Hi Alyssa, I look forward to your videos every week. I’ve learned a lot, but there’s more I need to learn. I had a boyfriend who loved the way I looked and wanted me to wear sleeveless tops and short skirts and we walked and biked and took care of our healthy bodies. But then we parted company and a pandemic came and I gained weight about 10 pounds. Now I’m find myself living in a conservative community instead of a beachy community and all summer I have been wearing a cute white short sleeve button up the front shirt to cover the nakedness of my shoulders and to emphasize that I still have a waist. But it’s getting a little monotonous. I’d like to find a fashion accessory besides the shirt rather than go ahead and buy a new wardrobe of dresses. I think I can regain my muscle tone, but maybe now that I’m more “mature” I should cover up/ buy different clothes. Can you help me?
Thank you for this video. Yes please, more about balancing textures, bags, colors, belts, hats etc we have to many items in our closets that we don't wear because we are not sure how to balance the items we own, most of us do not want to buy new items, we want to use what we have at home. Thank Alyssa!😘
You addressed the question I had throughout the video, in the last sentence. Where are the people in this obviously public area? 🤣 However, great content - makes me want to go change clothes and be mindful about the jewelry balance.
I wear a lot of off the shoulder and very open necklines but I usually don’t wear necklaces. I love statement earrings and they are kind of a signature of my style now often with a big messy bun, hair scarf and oversized sunglasses. I definitely have a more maximalist style but I’m a bigger woman and dainty jewellery would look silly on me so I go oversized.
Such a great, informative video Alyssa, thank you for this! I will return to this reference again and again. Definitely consider a series! Thanks for all you do!
Bravo Alyssa! This was so insightful (as all your videos are). This helped me think about styling my jewelry in a variety of different ways based on the look I want to create or the mood I'm in. Thanks!
I second having a video on jewelry. I have a few antique/expensive pieces that I honestly have no idea what to wear them with or how to make it look put together especially an antique locket. Thanks.
I just wanna say that I love the way that you say jewelry. ☺️ I’m from Florida & the way that we say it (julry) doesn’t sound nearly as cultured. Enjoyed your content, as always, Alyssa 🤩
Hi Alyssa, another great video. Just had a hard time seeing the detail of the accessories in some of the still shots. Do you have a video on how to style a dress shirt as a “tied halter” like how you showed in this video? Thanks
wow. carla rockmore is also someone i follow and i see her as quite quite opposite of you in her style. lmao. very opposite...very maximal. very expensive. BUT....she also talks about finding second hand and styling balance. i get so much from both of you though i am more someone like yourself in style. i'd love to have her budget and closet...in my dreams. lol. thanks for all the advice!
I always loved to wear watches … actually I have many which were Inside my drawers. Now They made a beautiful comeback on my looks because of your inspiration !
Quite fascinating subject because I've always worn jewelry because I may have been in the mood to wear a piece. I'm very minimal when it comes to my outfits and actually don't or didn't consider the overall ensemble.
This video was so informative and helpful actually things I never thought about-- I love learning something new without spending more money! I love you for what you bring to all of us and how I feel after watching every video.. I Can Only Imagine how much work goes into producing and creating and nothing you ever do is ever wasted on me( I have said this before and I will say this again). I actually I get a little tearful when your video ends like I'm saying " I'll see you later to a good friend".Big kiss honey keep on Shining!

And I walk away feeling that I grow as a person being a better resident of the planet. I respect my clothing differently and am more intentional and creative with my pieces as a result. Linda - this comment brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful you are part of this community and appreciate your thoughtful insights and comments. Sending love! ❤
@@c3necie Necie! Thank you so much for this heartfelt comment. Like Linda's above, it has given me pause and I am so grateful you're here. Big love from Italy! xx
Love you and your videos; I've learned so much and now understand how to express my personality through style! Questions re: earrings and eyeglasses: I've heard no bold earrings with glasses but sometimes that's just what I want to wear and do it anyway. Any suggestions/comments?
I was thinking that the larger necklaces and cuff (Carla) were also further extended and connected by the purse. In terms of presence and also colour. Was wondering what you thought… ? Oh ya, love the polka dot shirt 🙂
Can you do it for different age people what is great style tension in a older lady versus a 20 something via. A 40 year old va a 60 year old??? Make this a series please.
Good morning Alyssa! I'm a new subscriber and I love your outfit envy/shop your closet videos. I watch you on my television, then pause and take a picture of what I like. I'm pretty sure I have NO balance when it comes to jewelry; tiny earrings, tiny watch and maybe a bracelet. Rarely a necklace or ring - my knuckles and fingers are different sizes so nothing fits!🤣 BTW do you still have Apollo? Such a gorgeous cat😻. Take care 🌷🌿💜
Beautiful alley to film in! I have a question: I have found my necklaces get all tangled/twisted up together when I try layering or wearing a long and a shorter one. Any tips? Thanks again for the great info...really helpful.
To begin with, I always enjoy your vlogs but this was especially interesting. Secondarily, and ironically, I am wearing the Alyssa earrings as I write. And … you have proven one of my tests for classic jewellery (other than would Audrey Hepburn have worn this … ?), which is, can you
How about a video about which jewelry shapes, lengths and sizes suit different face shapes, hair length, bust size, petites, plus sizes etc, work best. Always enjoy your take on style!
