They are quite beautiful swimming in a group, and I very much enjoyed your camerawork and editing as always. I appreciate how you give important and useful information on keeping them. I can’t really blame them for being a bit skittish around the bottle of worms…they kind of resembled Cthulhu working his way up to an escape lol. Thanks again Dave, for always caring about quality.🖤🇨🇦
One of my favorites! I keep 15 of them with roseline sharks, dwarf pea puffers, one short finned male betta (pea puffers had to teach him a lesson), peppered corys, a rubber lip pleco, and a clown pleco (I never see the 2 plecos of course), and a ton of mystery, ramshorn, and pond snails (Mr & Mrs Diddys favorite food). They all get along well. The betta thinks he is the tank boss but the puffers (Mr Pea Diddy & Mrs. Pea Nellopea Diddy) are the real tank bosses. Everyone gets along great. There are enough barbs for them to keep to themselves. Thanks for another great video!!!
You're lucky your Betta has found a way to be successful. I bought a 55 gal for Sol the orange half moon Betta and promptly started picking on the Cory's he had lived with peacefully for 6 months. He's a beautiful grump. I might try him again when he's older and more "mature". Congrats on a very interesting tank
I was about to leave a comment suggesting a firemouth cichlid before you said it yourself! Not big enough to eat the tiger barbs, but big and feisty enough to ward off any attempts at harassment.
I too love the tiger barbs, firemouth s and convict cichlids as tank mares is perfect for these aggressive little buggers😂 very interesting experiment with the blackworms torture chamber as well! Very fun video 💯⭐️ And happy Independence Day!🇺🇸
Hi Dave! Loved the vid! Any chance we could get an update on the bristlenose pleco tank? I’d really like to see any changes you’ve made and how it’s doing!
While tiger barb is quite aggresive, i find that the Arulius barb is much more energetic. My 50g tank consist of tiger barb, arulius barb, rosy barb, odessa barb and zebra danio. Such lively fishes.
You should do a series on Corydoras... and breeding different species of them... along with all the incredible detail you seems to always have in your videos... I would be hooked for sure. That or some L046 / L236 SW videos... that would be amazing.
I am not familiar with these fish, but I'll check them out. . . I just did a google search for them and nothing showed up, just the Rummy-nose tetras. ???
I remember making the mistake of mixing these buggers with goldfish; they utterly decimated them in a matter of days. But admittedly I'd like to keep them again in a setup similar to yours or rosy barbs in their place.
Love the tank setup, tiger barbs really stand out against those green plants. I am thinking of setting up a new tank for tiger barbs. Could you suggest the perfect tank size for the perfect number of tiger barbs?
I have 22 tiger barbs in a 29 gallon (132 liter) tank and I change 5 gallons of water per week. This is way more than "the experts" would tell you is okay. I started out with 10 tiger barbs, but the tank seemed empty, so I ordered 10 more, and they sent 12 !!! I use a single large sponge filter for filtration, I don't overfeed, and everything is working beautifully. They are the only fish in the tank, and I don't have any trouble.
@@TheDave333 that is the right amount of information I needed. I was thinking of 20 gallon tall but now I realized that 29 gallon is perfect. It is long and tall. Thank you for the reply!
Susswassertang, guppy grass, a couple different anubias species, etc. This video explains the whole tank setup. ruclips.net/video/Fb0UC5Po-aA/видео.html

They never really did, they just lost interest, but would always go back to it every once in a while to give it another try. I think they get bored. :-)
@@TheDave333 seeing black worms, I would like to ask you about how to eliminate Mitraspora Cyprini or Heferellosis from the aquarium, I know it has not cure once in the goldfish, I have only one left-healthy though. Do they eat like goldfish, I mean will they overeat and die due to indigestion if we feed them a lot a food, or will they stop eating when tummy is full?
No. My old barbs would gorge themselves to death if given the chance. They would eat as much as they can find. Even though they terrorised by corydoras, I still miss them after I sold them
So mean! Lol but if u tilt it a little lower, it would be a great auto feeder to keep them entertained. Worms would slowly filter out and they would have a gradual reward for thier efforts.
Both carps and barbs are in the same family Cyprinidae, and none of them have teeth in the mouth, they only have pharyngeal teeth. Cyprinidae is the largest family of vertebrates on our planet.
So like I have 4 tiger barbs baby one has a huge belly but they are waiting to be adults we do have raw shrimp we are trying to feed also we have a kind of a black tiger Barb which turned greenish black and a molly
I had bought 6 tiger barb along with glass fish and zebra danio. 4 to 5 days all were good, floating around the tank. Later i noticed, one of the tiger barb, the Male one used to keep chasing around the female tiger barbs. So bcoz of continuous chasing, the female tiger barbs used to hide below the sponge filter. But poor females for how long they will hide?? They used to come out from below sponge filter but again the male one used to chase. So among 6 tiger barbs, 4 of them died due to stress caused by the male one. There might be other reasons for death but according to my internet research, stress caused to them might be the reason for their death. When all barbs were alive, I noticed that the male one was nipping the tail fin of the females. Today itself i also noticed that the one of my zebra danio tail fin was damaged. The reason for this might be due to male tiger barb or it might be due to zebra danio nipping the tail fin of each other bcoz i observed this they were doing and chasing each other. So what you think about this?? Any solution you can provide?? I even contacted fish store from where i bought these fish but he didn't help me out.
You may have a single hyper-aggressive male tiger barb. They all have their own personality. . . A larger school of barbs helps spread out the aggression. A larger tank with lots of places to hide in the form of live plants would have also been helpful. Fish will also sometimes get very aggressive if there's not enough food, and start fighting. So, always be sure there's plenty to eat. My suggestion is to use at least a 29 gallon tank, and put in 12 tiger barbs and lots of plants. No other fish, just tiger barbs. Then, there will be less trouble. Best of luck. :-D
In my 55 gallon I recently had a young virile male begin to attack 2 of my elderly males whose colors had begun to fade. The aggressive male chased and attacked the 2 elderly males nipping at them so badly to a point where their tails looked like broom straws which impeded their ability to swim correctly. I scooped up the aggressive male and donated him to a local pet shop which allowed the 2 elderly males to live out what little time they had in relative peace. At this time I had 2 older and larger females with about 7 other smaller barbs. I then bought an additional 10 baby barbs over a 3 week span adding 3-4 each week. Now all of the barbs can grow into their own in time to establish pecking order and hopefully none will turn into beast mode.
