    Payload is 1550lbs, and towing is 7000lbs. I think I misspoke in the video saying payload was 5000lbs lol, apologies. Enjoy the video

      Honestly, I just came down here to tell you the 5k was way wrong, lol. But I appreciate the correction right away here. For those like me wondering wtf to get as far as payload in the current models. This is about the same as the Trail Boss (But the trail boss has 9.3k+ in towing), once you jump up to the 2500 you get about 3.6k+ in payload and 13k+ towing. But, from my experience so far, those trucks are not good daily drivers. Hence, why I am here watching this video.

    This was a great video for me to watch because I bought a '22 last night, same color as yours, and I haven't even seen it yet. It's on a truck heading for the dealer. Hearing your satisfaction in ownership adds to my confidence that it was a good purchase.

      I bought my 19' brand new 3 years ago and have had zero issues with it. My one real gripe is just that I have big feet and the gas pedal is close to the wall so my foot always feels like it is in the way just a bit. But you get used to it and don't really notice unless your on a long drive. Then I just switch to cruise control anyway, so no big deal. Great truck. Cheers.

    It's good to se someone not in the review world doing a review of their experience. Like you said, not many review videos of customer bought trucks which help a lot more in my opinion for someone to want to buy a truck. I am planning on buying a new '21 Chevy Colorado Z71. I'll be customizing it a bunch too to go with my style. Great video and was very helpful.

    i've had one for over a year now. still like it. I haul a lot of long things like 16' boards that I pass thru the back window and let them rest on the tailgate. Although they come in as far as the dashboard, I have a towel there, but they never seem to touch the towel. I also keep a towel over the back window frame. I'm getting 19 mpg regularly in my highway/local driving here in PA. I hate the computer display nags about using your phone and not getting distracted and the ice warning when the temp gets to 37° or lower. they're annoying. I wish the heated steering wheel would turn on when I warm up the truck remotely. seats heat up but I have to manually turn on the heated steering wheel. overall it's a great truck I think.

    I traded a '17 Colorado Z71 for a '22 Colorado Z71. My '22 is the same color as yours. I ordered it August 16th and got it October 11th. I like the Colorado, it's great for what I do. I hauled a lot of stuff in the '17, and enjoyed it quite a lot. Just before I got the new one, the torque converter went, it was replaced under warranty. I have 175 miles on the new truck LOL. Believe it or not, it has a power lock on the tailgate. I don't cover the bed so it makes no sense to me. It locks and unlocks along with the rest of the doors which is odd. My '17 had a key lock which I never even tried to lock because I had no reason to. I had the sprayed on bed liner from the dealer on that truck and the new one. It wears like iron and it also keeps stuff from sliding around because of the grippy surface. I have the same side rails as you, I had them factory installed. I had leather seats in the old truck, I went for the cloth seats this time. I like the Colorado, it's a great driving truck, gets respectable mileage, it's powerful and it is quite capable as well. I got an extended warranty on this truck as well, I always do that. I enjoyed your video, no sales pitch, no corny jokes, just straight up information from using it in the real world. Good luck with your truck down the road, and thanks for making this video. Oh, one thing I ordered for the new truck that I overlooked when I ordered it, splash guards. I live in rural NY state, and they spread some kind of grit on the roads in the winter in addition to salt. Most cars and trucks around here are all rotted behind the wheels from that stuff kicking up and sanding off the paint. The splash guards prevented any damage to the paint from that sandy stuff, so to me, they are a good investment.

      @@jremeee1599 Soon after I got the '22 Colorado, I removed the air dam that's under the front bumper. It is attached with 13 sheet metal screws and removes easily without disturbing anything else. That air dam is too close to the ground, and hits plow mounds and steep driveways. The truck looks better now too. There are videos here on RUclips detailing the process and showing the difference.

    I have a '19 Z71 2wd and the best I've averaged on the hwy over 50 miles is ~26-27mpg. Usually, my combined mileage is ~21mpg and 24ish on the hwy. The 4 cyl mode seems to only activate when coasting downhill at speed. Any throttle input seems to switch it back to v6. That's not a complaint on my part, but it's not especially effective.
    I would have to say my favorite upgrade to my truck has been 70% windshield tint with Xpel Prime XR+. It really keeps the heat and UV off the dash and out of the interior along with reduced glare. Very subtle exterior look too--hard to tell it's tinted, so not likely to catch any hassle from 5-0. I'll be doing this to any future vehicle and highly recommend it to others.

I've had it in to the dealer twice and they haven't done anything to fix it. i guess it has to fail completely before they'll do anything. I think it has something to do with getting wet. I also had to take it back to fix the weatherstripping around the rear driver's side door that was routed incorrectly at the factory. Otherwise it's been fine up to 28k miles. getting 19-20 MPG on average.

Don't get me wrong, I like the look of the three tone color scheme on my seats and think they are fine quality (cloth inserts included) but I'm just curious as I thought the leather with cloth inserts were the only options on the Z71 interior package. I know the ZR2s have the full leather. Thanks! P.S. I have the same metallic silver as you do. I’m torn between this and a 1500. Right know I have a 2004 f150 5.4b for my sod installation business. I do a lot of driving to do estimates and meet people for work that I waste a shit ton of gas and that 5.4 is killing me but at the same time I need to occasionally place a pallet of sod in me truck bed or Maybe haul a dump trailer. Occasionally because my brother does most the hauling and me most the driving and estimates. Would this be enough for me?

    30 mpg on the highway? That is amazing! You are probably no more than 60 mph?

    I’m 20 and need something new and reliable. I was thinking about this as an option. I really hate to ask bc I know it’s rude but what is your payment like(if you have one) I apologize.

      Payment depends on too many things, so you need to buy it and get yours.

    J. Williams Your grandkids are going to be like "You say you paid UNDER MSRP? Stop fibbing grandpa! 4x list price is a bargain in 2050!" Literally I had to search around all week, calling dealers in 5 states to find the truck I wanted @MSRP .

    Do you mind me asking how you got the truck in the low 30k? Do you have negotiating tips? Thanks

      I have an employee discount, I don't work for GM. I have a family member that does. I paid $32000 thanks.

    Beautiful truck. I'm thinking of getting a 2015-2016. Some of the reviews I see don't praise the ride or seat quality. Now that you have had it a while what's your take on the seat comfort and ride quality?

    • @fishofall9212
      @fishofall9212 2 года назад

      It drives similar to a Silverado but less comfortable

      just a heads up in case you haven't gotten one yet, when I was doing my research there were multiple accounts of the 15-16 models having transmission failures under 75k miles

    • @bw6078
      @bw6078 2 года назад

      @@NicholasStillman Wound up getting a 2015 GMC with the 6spd trans.🤞fingers crossed. Although the 6spds can give grief from what I hear and see the 8spd transmissions are almost a guarantee to have issues.

    New oil change recommendations are crazy these days. Get that break in suspended metal drained out of there.
