I'm really glad you're spearheading the idea that people need to stop focusing on the paycheck number but rather the collective picture and also just set up expectations for how difficult it will actually be to get that number. I might go into this in more detail later since people may make the decision to go for the jobs because of the salary but not because they're either really passionate about the work or have a mismatch on what exactly you're going to be doing day to day which is what I try to cover too. Great work!
Exactly my point, glad my message gets across. The reason why I typically avoid answering this question with a number is because people's motivation to ask this is whether or not the salary is 'good enough' to go into this field - just like you noted too. Which is far away from the mindset that can actually succeed.

I think this video encompasses all I need to say about salaries. 😅It's really up to every individual to understand how to evaluate a salary package and calculate their worth as they start gaining experience. There's no definite answer to the salary question - it's about educating yourself on the topic and understanding how it applies to your circumstances.

I have 1 year of social media and digital marketing experience and I am currently working as a digital marketing and social media specialist for a food company. My question is how effective would certifications be for someone in my situation, what do I need to do to improve myself further.
Certifications are relevant if you think you need to learn/improve a certain skill. Certifications don't necessarily get you a job but they get you the knowledge to understand what that particular topic is and execute on it when you have that work in your hands.
Hello dear...In canda does marketing jobs are target based ? Means if any marketing or sales professional not able to complete the sales than will he not even get the basic salary.or the system is like there is a basic pay and incentive pay. Incase a professional have done normal sales target but do not meet the expected target design by company for that particular month than that employee get only basic salary and not incentive amount...?
There's no such thing as 'this is how it is done in Canada'. Performance-based compensation is the application by some companies and for some roles but it's less common if you're looking for stats. Usually you negotiate over a fixed yearly salary.

If you don't like the video do your own research I swear people are so lazy today. Salaries are always hard to find because of competitors and companies are not going to share that until your interview. Even free lancers share with their clients an average and then when they are one on one they give an exact amount. You can only get average numbers it depends. Thanks for sharing but people need to do their own work, everyone may come up with a different number depending on location, skillset etc.

Ive been in the field for almost 7 months and I'm being paid close to minimum wage with some free work on the side. It's disheartening to see so many social media personalities say how much digital marketers make which isn't my reality.
You’re being used. Either quit or ask for more. You should not be making any less then 35-40k even in a entry level position.
@@fredymarroquin1175 right only apply to jobs that make $40k and over. Since you probably have way more experience you could easily get $60k-100k jobs.

How important is it to learn Adobe Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator etc if I want a career in Digital Marketing?
I don't know any of those programs :)
Although they are required for some roles, they're not obligatory to have a career in DM
