What's needed? Liquid cash. Everyone only has credit. If you have stacks of cash, you can capitalize on everyone's credit. A recession as bad it can be, provides good buying opportunities in the markets if you’re careful and it can also create volatility giving great short time buy and sell opportunities too. This is not financial advise but get buying.
Me and my mate started our business this year and already landed multiple clients! Fun fact our first customer only paid 300 euros for a website, linktree account, logo design, business card, and social media management (for only one week) we are just insanely dedicated and learned so much already! We also decided on working with 3 flexibel packages, Gold, Plat, Diamond Anyway just wanted to say that here for a sec cuz IT IS POSSIBLE! Thanks for the tips!
the better your skills get, the more advanced of a portfolio you obtain, you can charge 1000 euros for a website alone, then SEO/marketing can easily be another 1000 euros/mo on a 12 month term... 2, 3 clients a month and you're balling. keep going at it bro!
Hey quick question, are you paying outsource freelancers to do the social media work for you? Or are you both doing it on your own. Also, how do you convince clients that you're the person for the job without prior experience?
I landed a high paying client with no prior experience by talking to them face to face. If you can offer numerous strategies and insights right then and there, you can impress them. But you need to have good personal sales skills for this approach
@@rastitrading Hey man, so as we are both workaholics.. We decided to it all by ourselfs (obviously our future goal is to outsource just about everything that is possible to do so) But for now, we just want to get familiaire with everything marketing. Completely self taught and since this post was posted we already landed a few new clients! About the expierence, its all about that proof of concept in our eyes, start local! We also decided to do something very unique, we decided to use a system that if someone fixes us a succesful client (so a client who paid and got at our door because of that person) We give them 50 euros to convert us a succesful client (you could say its a refferal program) This motivates people to do some organic advertising for us. And we also went to a lot of local stores and places to ask if we could put our business cards there, whilest talking about our refferal program to the owner of that shop/service, we now are getting random requests because of this and I think being flexible is a big one for us too. Anyways, goodluck on your journey!
@@philipellington Thanks mate! Yeh we just conciously decided to start out for low prices (like really low) because we are in that learning curve. Building some credibility first and then moving up with the price range. Altho we are aware that these prices are low as hell. I gues you could call it a strategic way of building up fast and efficient. Big up bro! We'll let you know if anything worth mentioning comes up :)

Starting a business with close friends one is 100% spot on!!...I started a business with a good friend and it just broke my friendship with him...when we see each in a common group we are cool with each other, we talk etc...but it never the same it is just awkward and both of us have a bit of bitterness towards each other which is still there from our time in the business...so this is a great life tip....try and hire strangers if u can and if u wanna go partners do it with a proper agreement with ppl who are not your personal friends, best with work collegues...so if things sour up later you can can handle it much better
One thing to remember is that in this day and age no matter what business you run, you are a digital marketing agency before anything else. This is the only way to survive the pinch we are currently in which is only getting worse. Learn this stuff, even if you hire someone to do it in the end, you won’t be wasting money if you understand how this stuff works.
This is a half truth. Marketing your own products is not the same as a digital marketing agency, which is a company that just markets other company’s products
@@TopBoi93 Sure, a "digital marketing agency" is an agency that uses various methods to advertise other companies. On the other hand, if you have your own company that sells a product or service, you are not defined as a "digital marketing agency" just because you advertise your own product or service. You are instead defined as whatever industry you are involved in. Does that make sense?
I've learn a lot on this video. This is actually a better introductory video for digital marketing compared to paid sources. Thanks for the tip on how to identify potential client and how to win them. I'm just starting my business so this is really helpful.
At the very least, I now grasp the concept of leverage. Creating wealth and financial freedom isn't as tough as many people believe. Building wealth and remaining financially stable indefinitely is a lot easier with the appropriate information. Participating in financial programs and products is the only true approach to make a high income and remain affluent indefinitely.
That is why I work with John Desmond Heppolette, who introduced me to a better Financial community, a verified agency where I learned how money works and how to create it, as well as free books, courses, and daily lectures. You also get to meet new people, which was the best decision I ever made.
You are correct! Working with a financial advisor who has worked in a solid financial firm for a long time, such as John will actually set you up for success in life. I'm delighted I was able to reach out to "John Desmond Heppolette" earlier this year because while others were grumbling about the downturn in the markets due to the state of the economy, I was busy learning from him and eventually made over seven figures in the first quarter alone, which is why it's always good to join the correct community.
Yeah real, that guy is one asset manager that gives the breakdown of everything on how things are done, joining an effective financial community can be 100% beneficial when joined properly that's all I can say out of experience
He also happens to be one of the best asset managers I've ever worked with. I've actually had a conversation with John Desmond Heppolette. It has been a truly flawless experience for the past 6 years.
This is an amazing video so far! Thank you for actually giving us valuable information instead of just teasing us with it the whole time. I get so tired of videos that just talk about what they're going to talk about and never actually get there. You rock!
I started life as a photographer but wanted to get into marketing as I tended to lean towards product photography, I’m currently doing my MSc in Marketing and during this time I am currently building a marketing portfolio, we actually have a module called applied professional practice where you need to get work experience for a month and one of the choices was “venture creation” so I jumped on that. When I complete my masters I want a website, with a good few clients on it. I would like to get into hospitality (I’ve been a waiter and cook for 5 years) as I think that’s where my niche of photography and videography is really needed. I am also doing my research project on the effects of professional photography on perceived value in a restaurant setting, so I would like to see how much people would pay for a certain meal based on profession photography compared to diy photography. So hopefully this will give me data to show to future clients to convince them that investing in their photography can actually enable them to charge more because customers are likely to perceive them in higher regard compared to a restaurant with amateurish images. I totally agree that you need to do a few free jobs, I did this when building my photography portfolio and a good few of the companies got back to me offering me paid work when they realised the images were well received on social media. Someone in my class was saying “I don’t believe in giving my time for nothing in return” and our careers advisor agreed then I said “but what do they get out of paying a student with zero marketing experience, zero portfolio and credibility? They might as well hire a professional, and you do get something out of it… experience, testimonial and potentially your first paying client. Student barbers give out free hair cuts, new restaurants often give out free samples” also working for free at the start to build up a portfolio allows you room to make and learn from mistakes, when you’re charging from the get go, you can’t make these mistakes
"The biggest mistake can make is trying to be a jack of all trades." It's always nice to hear someone speak the truth even if it's not what everyone wants to hear. Amazing video!
Specialization is the biggest lie our educational system teaches us. Do you know how people who specialize end up with? Working at a job they hate, with a mediocre salary, living in fear that the only thing they know how to do will become irrelevant and they won't have a job anymore. If you look at every successful person in history they were all good at AT LEAST 2-3 things. Especially as an entrepreneur you need to be good at marketing, sales, branding, technology, management, negotiation and so on. Yeah you don't have to be an expert at everything, but you have to be at least OK at everything. Sure you can outsource things as you start to grow your team and build your business, but even then, the more skills you have, the better you'll be able to lead your organization, not to mention that when you're starting from scratch you have to do everything, and you better do it well if you want to succeed. Me I've been a generalist all my life, mostly because I never wanted to feel constrained to a single path in life, and while it's true that I'm not as good as other programmers (that being my main job) who only did that for years and years, I've been able to profit from opportunities they would never be able to access, just because I also know a little bit of business, a little bit of design and a little bit of sales, besides knowing programming. And I'm optimist that even though my colleagues will make a little bit more money than me in the short run, in the long run my combination of skills will lead me to success.
I have so much experience and I’m scared to make the jump every digital marketing course I watch says they started with no experience keep it up thanks for the motivation

Well with the economy and stocks at where it is now, I'd be disappointed if people weren't making any error on their portfolio at this time, it was much easier to navigate during the bull-run, regardless I still see and read articles of people pulling over $225k by the weeks in trades, how come?

Great video! But I’m curious if you have a video that goes more in depth of what a digital marketer does? As for example social media, does the marketing agency create videos for the company to post or do they revise the footage they’re sent then post?
Can be both, sometimes the brand creates the content and you just post it/schedule it/plan it. But mostly they require you to do the content, either they provide you with raw footage and you can make something out of it or you do it all from scratch.

In terms of clients I love working with 2 types of clients: 1) Local service based companies who "get it" - ie: they understand they need a marketing budget in order to get consistent business flowing in. 2) E-comm clients - but where they've created their own products AND have already built a healthy following using social media etc.

Most of the successful agency owners I know never interned as beginners . They instead had a Mentor or launched their own agency from scratch .Every agency has its own USP & interning somewhere would only help you get a knack of the systems laid down by that agency which can rather be self-learnt by investing more hours into understanding how exactly your services would look like if your ultimate goal is to be an agency owner altogether.

Thanks for the informative video! I've been strategizing and executing on social, search, display and OOH ads at agencies for over 5 years now and have picked up the skills to succeed; I just need to work on finding clients and making money besides my full time job.
Hey Nate, thanks for the video. With regards to pricing structure.. how would you know how much value you’ve brought to your client in order to price your service correctly? Thanks
Work on a performance based model. I charge you for 20% of your gross monthly increase from when I joined. ie you were making $1,000 a month on average before…now you’re making $11,000 - that’s $10,000 extra - 20% of that is $2,000. You can also charge a small retainer on top of that as well…if you need To cover costs. Pay me $200 a month just to retain my services and add the performance based amount. That’s how I do some of my models. One size does not fit all - but this is an extremely juicy way of reeling clients in. Low risk for them - high reward for you, if you get it right.
Value is a subjective concept and therefore it is impossible to quantify it in dollars. It's important to know or judge your client's financials in order to form a better judgement about how much he can afford. If he thinks you're quoting way too high ask him to pay 10-20% of the additional revenue generated by digital marketing. He would decline this offer if he perceives your quote to be lower and affordable. A lot depends on how you negotiate.
I asked myself the same question, but I thought maybe if you start for free you can learn how much value you bring to that client in that field and go from there
Been in business for about 3 years now, part time for the first 2 years and now full time. Made many mistakes along the way but damn this line of business is the greatest. @@Rogue-Sentinel There's a lot of truth to that. Additionally, CRO is amazing value too, and that's my focus personally. I landed a high paying client with no prior experience by talking to them face to face. If you can offer numerous strategies and insights right then and there, you can impress them. But you need to have good personal sales skills for this approach
@@rastitrading Hey man, so as we are both workaholics.. We decided to it all by ourselfs (obviously our future goal is to outsource just about everything that is possible to do so)
But for now, we just want to get familiaire with everything marketing. Completely self taught and since this post was posted we already landed a few new clients!
About the expierence, its all about that proof of concept in our eyes, start local! We also decided to do something very unique, we decided to use a system that if someone fixes us a succesful client (so a client who paid and got at our door because of that person) We give them 50 euros to convert us a succesful client (you could say its a refferal program)
This motivates people to do some organic advertising for us.
We just dont want to overvalue ourselfs (yet) before obtaining full confidence in our service and making sure we are worth what we ask. I gues you could call it a strategic way of building up fast and efficient.
Big up bro! We'll let you know if anything worth mentioning comes up :)

Spot on bro.
Can you elaborate…
@@triquepersonalwork6369 can u explain what u mean exactly. Sorry I’m new to all this
@@TopBoi93 Sure, a "digital marketing agency" is an agency that uses various methods to advertise other companies. On the other hand, if you have your own company that sells a product or service, you are not defined as a "digital marketing agency" just because you advertise your own product or service. You are instead defined as whatever industry you are involved in. Does that make sense?
@@trique9776 i still didn’t fully grasp the concept 😅
These are solid advice for agencies and startups alike! The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.
Crisp, to the point, no fluff.
Thank you very much for this useful and compact description on the topic.
No fluff. I like that wording. Theres way too much fluff out there
I've learn a lot on this video.

Please who is John Desmond Heppolette..?
He also happens to be one of the best asset managers I've ever worked with. I've actually had a conversation with John Desmond Heppolette. It has been a truly flawless experience for the past 6 years.
Man this is truly a hidden gem. I just came across your page today. Just wanted to say thanks.

This is an amazing video so far! Thank you for actually giving us valuable information instead of just teasing us with it the whole time. I get so tired of videos that just talk about what they're going to talk about and never actually get there. You rock!
Pure gold for someone starting out.
“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but often times better than a master of one.”
@@jpbernie72 Thanks for saying it completely.
Instead of this u can hire freelancers to do rest of the services for ur agency on commission basis or salary basis

Hey Nate, thanks for the video. With regards to pricing structure.. how would you know how much value you’ve brought to your client in order to price your service correctly?
Thanks
good question , i was wondering about that too.
Work on a performance based model. I charge you for 20% of your gross monthly increase from when I joined. ie you were making $1,000 a month on average before…now you’re making $11,000 - that’s $10,000 extra - 20% of that is $2,000.
You can also charge a small retainer on top of that as well…if you need
To cover costs.
You aks the company’s balance sheet before you do any work and after you do the work in order to see how much value you have added
I asked myself the same question, but I thought maybe if you start for free you can learn how much value you bring to that client in that field and go from there
Thank you Nate for your informational video, I really appreciate your honesty and transparency
My goodness... this was soo much value in so little time. Thank you so much!
