Great tip. Although for me, the capture tool I carry everywhere is my phone and it also meets my first principle which is that I only want to write things once - so if I write something on a piece of paper I will then have to rewrite that item into my system unless I take a photo/scan and convert it automatically into digital form. For me, writing it into my phone's task app (I use MS To Do) means I'm capturing it straight into my system and can then edit it/add a due date/label/context or whatever, without having to rewrite it again every time. I admire people who can make it work using paper and I know it's much more tactile and all, but the fact I have to recapture the note/idea all over again into my digital/paperless system means that paper as a capture method is a last resort for me.

How do you not grow numb tk your inbox?
I used to use to do all the time, but i tend to forget that i have stuff to process.
I have been trying to use paper more often as I tend to NOT FORGET that i have to process (as my in basket has that visual feedback)

@@kurodesuuuu It's true that all digital can be a challenge to not lose track of everything, so if paper works for you for your Must Do kind of items then go for it. I have terrible handwriting and so I used to end up with many scruffy paper lists which I couldn't decipher ;) the weekly review process helps me to make sure all my capturing and action lists are up to date. If I don't do a weekly review things slip and get forgotten or miss deadlines haha. Hope your system is working for you ☺️

@@iangrant3615 thank you! I really hope things get better soon. I'm a total mess right now. I have around 800 items in my to do tasks, a dozen few in my paper system. These aren't as bad as the lists I've grown completely numb to: the ones I made in Obsidian, 2-3 months ago (a note taking app. I thought it's linking feature might be handy, but i always forgot to check it during my weekly review).
So, many projects feel like emergencies. I don't know if I should block time for more clarifying and organizing, or time for doing.
I tried the former last month for a week and my items just kept growing (well, ofcourse it will -if i don't work on stuff haha).
This time, I'm trying to keep 3-4 hours blocked for doing. Even that doesn't seem to be helping. (I keep going,"Shoot! I should have done that thing instead')
If you have any tips, i would love to hear it :)
I have my weekly review Schedule tomorrow. But i know it'll just tell me to do a 'backlog clear' project, which i have been trying to do, but never seem to complete-being distracted all the time

Notes app on my iPhone. Always in my pocket wherever I am, whatever I’m doing.
Item 2 on my daily checklist (after review calendar) is clarify everything in that notepad from yesterday.

Unfortunately, subtitles are still not available on your videos, David. I would love to see the Spanish translation so I can learn more about GTD, but I can't find a way to configure it.
