The cops where in the right in this one. This woman is unhinged, and needs to learn how to control herself.
The cops have no time. They're playing in traffic. Where people are texting. And driving on. The phone❤❤❤
They are doing the most dangerous part of their job, being on the side of the road. The biggest threat to cops is a car. I think in this case "officer safety" is frankly valid. I think yes he went a little too fast, but in this case being on the side of the road the faster you get out of the way the better. And honestly, she doesn't seem like the the type that slowing down would make a difference. He did warn her a couple times.

She pulled up being annoying and disrupting the investigation. She ended up exactly where she asked to be. 🤷🏾♂️✌🏾
@@braveheart9097 That's not an accurate statement. She was already there and already speaking to the kid's father when the cops arrived.
Additionally, I question if you can call it disruptive and annoying if nothing took place yet. The cops arrived, confirmed the people in the accident, and asked to move the vehicles. The woman could have better complied, but here vehicle was on the median already. Any further and she would not be able to exit her vehicle.
Notice when the woman finally gave up and decided to just give her phone to the cop they arrested her. If you give an order and say or else, you cannot take the person saying "okay fine" as non-compliance.
@@braveheart9097 I think you are arguing a different point. Its not. Just the police make it a problem that they are the ones to lead and make orders. 'Too chiefs not enough indians' thing.

Yes. They had apparently zero concern about the position of the woman's car. In attempts justify their preemptive arrest it was treated as if she were prolonging an emergency. In actual fact the only emergency was their bruised egos because her asking them to speak to the guys father, sounded too much like usurping their agenda. Their main priority is to preserve their authority and control of others. NOT safety, responsibility or even respect for the Citizen.
All the officer had to say at the 2:28 mark is, "we do not know yet, paramedics are on their way to assess him. Once we know where he is going, we will let you and the father know. Please move your car off the highway in the meantime." How hard is that to say?

I understand where they could think that she was being annoying, but she was genuinely trying to help everyone in that accident, why would you even be so aggressive to people like that in the first place?
Because she was obstructing them in their duties?
Her car was slightly in the lane of the highway making the situation more dangerous than necessary for all involved, including the passing motorists. She refused to move it. Then she insisted that the police tell her what to say to the kid's father, like that's of any relevance or she has any authority over how the investigation is conducted. Regardless of whether she was "trying to help" or not, this woman clearly made the situation far more difficult and dangerous than necessary and obstructed the police in doing their jobs. Then she resisted arrest and freaked out. The cops were right to arrest her, though they maybe could have explained the situation one more time before arresting her as she's clearly pretty thick.

In my experience it is usually the cops that disrupt traffic and create potential danger zones when they pull people over on smaller roadways. I've seen 2 way traffic forced down to one lane with drivers having to alternately try to pass simply because an officer has parked too far out in the travel lane. I think this danger far outweighs the "score" of being able to write a ticket for some minor infraction.

@@stickiedmin6508 you’re talking yourself in circles to try and justify your bs opinion. If you can’t even acknowledge that a car sitting on the inside line of the passing lane is extremely dangerous and restrictive to traffic then it’s not even worth talking to you. Tell me this, once the first responders arrived were they supposed to ask her for permission as how to proceed? Is she in charge of the scene because she arrived first? Once she was asked to move her car she needed to comply, it’s as simple as that. Again I agree that the officers didn’t handle the situation perfectly but they also didn’t violate any laws, rights or policies. What purpose did she serve on the scene once the first responders arrived? From where I see it once they arrived all she was doing is distracting them from their fact gathering.
If the cops had said "yeah we'll let you know what's happening when we know, in the meantime, could you please go over there?" I doubt she would have minded. But instead of recognising that she was trying to help the kid and his parent, and responding in kind, they had a bad attitude. They were rude and dismissive. It seemed to me like theyre another example of cops who really dont like the public.
Your post just reminded me of another incident in which a firefighter had been providing medical aid to an assault victim. An officer was getting information from him, at least 20 feet from the victim, and another officer arrived and immediately started shouting at the firefighter to move away. The shouting officer continued to focus on the firefighter instead of the victim, and he pursued the firefighter around the block - after the firefighter had left the scene - to arrest him for "obstruction" (if I recall correctly).

I'd point out that in spite of the "ambulance chaser" slur, an attorney or lawyer who witnesses a crime, accident, or incident, has a duty under most state bar association to render aid. This is defined under the "Duty of Public Service" as defined under the Model Rules of Professional Conduct. Furthermore, because the accident victim was a minor, the Model Rules of Professional Conduct have a heightened or Enhanced Obligation element. The attorney, in this case, was ethically bound to ensure the victim's parents were informed regarding the accident and the victim was given medical care. The moment she stated she was an attorney, the cop should have stopped. An attorney is typically considered an expert witness (meaning one with expertise the general public does not have) and is required by their ethics code to present the truth fully (unlike the general public). The Officer's actions in this situation deserve an F not a C-. They used excessive force, unlawfully arrested the attorney. They ignored the ethical duties of an attorney in this situation, and instead should have deescalated the situation and listened to her concerns. They also should have asked for confirmation she was an attorney by requesting a card with her Bar number. They didn't follow procedure and I'm glad they're being sued.
This is an example where being a Good Samaritan can potentially backfire. The judgment call that the police claim that you’re interfering versus being a Good Samaritan is completely arbitrary.
Actions by police like this will drive society to no longer be Good Samaritans as they may be culpable in the event that they are trying to ultimately help.
If you're not an as.hole when the officers arrive and you actually let them do their job, you should be totally fine and be thanked.
To be fair, she was interfering. She wouldn't shut up when the cops arrived to talk to the kids in the accident. She can tell the cops what she saw as a witness when the cops asked her. The cops will contact the minors father when needed. She was interfering and basically trying to do the investigation for the cops.
@davidsmith5230 glad I'm not the only one who noticed she was a total karen. Lol. She was annoying af.
While I agree that she didn't make the best decisions in this situation, the officers immediately and unnecessarily escalated the situation in a way that went counter to their stated objective. They just wanted a power trip, and that is the only benefit anyone involved received from their reactions.
The car didn't get moved more expediently, the situation with the accident was not resolved more quickly, and in no way was anyone made better off by their response. A fifteen second conversation would have resolved an issue that will now waste thousands of taxpayer dollars and hours upon hours of people's time being resolved in court.

@KevinSolway respect? For what? Cops who are supposed to help out but show no interest in a kid that might need medical assistance? It's not efficient to completely ignore the instructions given by the officer, and try to force him to take a call he isn't ready to take, and then cause him to arrest you, when he could be doing more important things.
"The cops who showed no patience"
I thought they were very patient at the beginning.

I don't know why you think civilians are just supposed to obey without question cops. Why was she to obey just to obey? Especially when the people you are claiming, she MUST IMMEDIATELY OBEY are not demonstrating that they have the ability to take care of the situation given their focus on her and inability to give vital information to a parent.
It is not on the lawyer to be efficient, though she was being that, stopping, making sure kids are not in need of immediate support, calling parents to inform them of what is happening, staying to let police know what is happening.
You claim to know what the priority is, and claim that their priority was to clear the scene, but it was clearly far less efficient to do it the way they did it. If they had been doing their jobs they would have answered her, taken care of what they clearly could have as she was obviously not a hindrance to anything and been clearing the scene the entire time they were assaulting a good Samaritan.. They made her a hindrance by acting the way they did. Tell me. Have you ever been in law enforcement? I have and I can tell you that good LEOs don't act like they did. you make it sound like they are dodging through traffic. He arrester her for speaking, she was trying to help someone. Its her career being shat on by another ego driven thug in blue@@MPD90
I hope she sue's those bell ends into poverty.
There wasn't enough room on the highway for that cops ego.
The officer did everything legally justifiable and just because youre an attorney doesn't mean youre exempt from getting arrested.
These cops have a severe lack of professionalism and self-control. If cops can't handle a pushy and demanding person, they need to turn in their badges.
This is one of those situations of two head strong people not letting up.
First, the lawyer could have easily said to the teens father, "hey. Your son seems fine but the police are asking us to clear the road. Let me move my car and I'll figure this out."
The cop, could of at least slowed down for a second and answer her question. Seriously that would have taken just a second.
The lawyer should know to keep her mouth shut and not argue. It never helps.
I think both are acting over the top.
"Neither Could Change Their Headstrong Ways"~Journey.
She was more power tripping then the cops. Announcing she is a lawyer and good Samaritan. Trying to take control of the situation and feel important. She is like one of those who bring a bag to a supermarket and announce to everyone she is saving the environment/ world. If you drive a gas guzzling car everyday you are destroying it. Those who actually do things that make a difference. They aren't pretensious and enjoy hearing the sound of their own voice and do something minor and announce it to everyone.
@@paulengels6926your brain is broken. You're actively fighting so many shadows it's not even funny.
I would say that you're partially right. I expect more professionalism from the officer since he's actively on the job, and the expectation for de-escalation. That being said, it's clear that both egos were bruised, but when you're on the clock you're held to a higher standard
@@Numb_ Yeah, instead of cuffing the attorney when she handed him the phone, the policeman should have spoken briefly with the minor's guardian to whom the lawyer was speaking.
It would have taken-what?-all of 10 seconds to say that it was a traffic matter and at worst and that the minor wasn't facing arrest, just a Traffic Court citation....
Having said that, the lawyer was Kareningly entitled and the Bar would likely reprimand her.
I love the videos, I pay good money for no commercials and no ads. It sucks how they're always added in.
I think this is the same cop that pulled over that girl in the Tesla who took off on him that said her dad "owned the island." 😂
