I had blood work done in my 30s and I was very deficient in Vit D despite drinking milk each day and frequently eating cheese. Now that I take a Vit D supplement every day, my blood work Vit D levels come back normal every year now.

yeah, maybe they both are from sunny state like California and don't even think about vit D. I'm from Poland, eastern Europe, I hardly ever move from home, I hate sun, so here I need vit D suplemented. but, even if I'm vegetarian from 30 years now, I never needed B12, as I have loads of raw food (B12 is in dirt / bacterias even), so I don't need to suplement B12. it differs from country to country, depends on weather & food & lifestyle

You only need 15 mins of sunlight all over your body and that’s your daily intake of vitamin d. Why waste money on vitamins that barely work.

Vitamin D can be obtained from the Sun or from Milk. The amount added to milk is not the full amount of Vit D you need to maintain your health. After testing by my Internal Medicine specialist, I've been put on Vit D supplements due to an increased need for it (beyond what people without my condition would need). The medical and scientific community are only beginning to realize almost everyone should be on Vit D supplements. Just drinking milk will not provide you with the amount your body needs. Cheese does not actually contain Vit D. VIT D is actually only added to milk processed for packaging to sell for drinking, not for use in making cheese.

Whenever I take a Zinc, Magnesium and B6 tablet I sleep longer with more intense dreams, and if I wake up to go to the toilet I feel super drowsy to the point of nearly falling over on my way there…
I’ve had the same sort of results from various brands as well

We are so use to drink coke and fizzy stuff that it makes everything else takes bland, sour or bitter which we don’t like anymore . I kept my kids away from soft drinks for as long as I could , and they loved vegetables like broccoli 🥦, fish and nuts . Now they are approaching teen years , they are now drinking coke and it’s hard to get them eating veg or veg juice . It taste like soap they say 😂. We drink far too much sugar in the west compared to 100 years ago.

Vitamins is not an easy topic.
I literally have to take vitamin B (even though I eat a lot of meat), otherwise I will have mouth ulcers, and there's no other way I found so far to deal with them for the past 10 years. Some people say vitamin C helps them, for me I've never felt any different. One of my friend had renal/kidney issues and zinc helped him completely, while for me I've never felt.any different.
So it's not as simple as 'nobody should take them' or 'everybody should take all the vitamins'.
If they help you - of course you should take them. If not - don't take them.

Thank you for bringing this up. It’s amazing the power of placebo. Since turning carnivore I have not had the ‘need’ for any supplements. Mind you I always had a strong immune system so it might not all apply to me. But I definitely think that sugar is the worst thing anyone could intake, especially on a regular basis.

For the record I’m a big Tim fan and have just done his blood sugar/fat and microbiome study. But before we all eye roll at nutritional companies and nutritionists, let’s remember all GP’s were prescribing calcium for bone density and then in a ‘major breakthrough’ added magnesium to the calcium! Presumably driven by science, Tim? In fact all the nutritionists I know always recommend we attempt to get our nutrients from largely plant based foods and supplement where that’s not possible. And let’s not start on the ‘avoid fats over carbs and don’t eat too many eggs’ advice through the 80’s and 90’s. I think medicine has got a lot wrong which is allegedly driven by science. Testing blood levels of minerals and vitamins also appears to be inaccurate as your cellular levels have to be virtually running on empty to see a drop. So let’s stop taking health advice from people making wads of cash for saying it and just do our best to do better. Have a healthy 2024 everyone.

Certain brands of fish oil are great at lowering cholesterol and/or triglycerides. My Dr says Triglycerides but my experience has been cholesterol! If one brand doesn't work for you, don't give up, try a different brand! This is true for Magnesium and Zinc as well! Also, more is NOT always better! Follow the dosage on the bottle for the best results!

    @justme7777 9 месяцев назад +2

This guy's a mess. He clearly can't think straight himself.
I'm not a Dr., but I have 65 years of experience! I've lost more than 40lbs, (even while on medications that cause severe weight gain! Finally, after trying every diet in the book I figured out the one that works and I know why!
In my experience, most people who cut just regular soda out will loose 10 to 30lb in just the first year, assuming they don't take up eating other sugar filled junk food or FAT in it's place. This fat lost tends to be belly fat first!!!
Artificial sweetners do cause headaches and cause you to grave sugar. Stevia is the only one that seems reasonably safe with the least side affects.
If you want to loose weight and feel better, drop soda, of any type, and replace the sugar in your diet with fruit. BEST NEWS, if you can get through just the first 2 or 3 days you'll be home free! The sugar and carb cravings will disappear. Slow down on bread, pasta, cakes, cookies, candy and lower your fatty foods! Cheese is great but stick to Mozzarella and Feta! The others have to much fat!
For you ladies with hotflashes, IT'S CARBS that cause them!!!! Don't beleive me? Eat a Snickers and you'll have a hot flashes with 20 to 30 minutes!!!
Hate water? Ya, me too. Drink bottled or filtered water 2/3 water 1/3 juice. Add liquid Stevia too your taste. Wean back on the stevia a tiny bit at a time till you get used to tasting the natural sugars in your fruit and fruit juices. Within weeks of getting off sweetners ALL your food will taste better!!
You'll be shocked how much better you'll feel within only a few weeks! The weight will drop off, as long as you don't replace your junk drinks with junk food or increase the amount of fat in your diet!
My husband and I didn't get COVID-19. We both take a lot of vitamin D, to the top of the safe level.
My advice here is not a replacement to your drs advice. Talk to your Dr before making any significant changes!
Fat free or carb free diets don't work and everything lost will return. You have to lower your carbs significantly AND lower your fat intake at the same time!
One last key!!! Journal ALL your food! There are tons of apps available to do it. I personally like Nooms free app but my favorite is LOOSE IT. It's also free. It can help you figure out what's the best number of calories, fat, carbs, protein, and fiber you should eat! You enter the food you ate and it automatically tracks it automatically. I have also found one of my best tools is putting in the foods I plan to eat the next day! This allows me to make adjustments BEFORE I eat something that blows my diet!!
I've worked hard all my life to get this issue under control and figure out the best but easiest way to do it. I pray I can help just a few people get past the hell I had to go through to finally loose weight, keep it off, and not feel deprived! Drop me a message if this helps you!

Also, saying all supplements are useless is just dumb. It means he thinks hundreds, if not thousands of compounds, are useless. Well, he probably just heard about multivitamins when he was younger and stopped learning.

I hope people will understand that the time, where it was “only” sugar is gone. We are living in a world full of sugar and “also” all other toxic things.
I reduced my sugar intake drastically. And actually I felt like I was on a rehab. I felt bad, sad, angry - a normal withdrawal 😬
Before you won’t cut your sugar intake for at least 4 weeks you will always believe the lies they tell you.
