Wow Rocket, that was AWESOME😀What a beautiful place with amazing architecture and civilization. Cheers mate🎉🍻Unreal. On the bucket list for sure. Happy Days
I am Polish, 3rd generation in USA. Great video, I will make it to the motherland once I retire for a visit. My childhood friend that was an actress in TV show Castle has been there and sent me a pic after meeting a person with my real last name :)
Polish fighter pilots, flying Spitfires and Hurricanes, downed more German war planes in the battle of Britain than their British counterparts. Then the newly elected British Labour government banned them from the official VE Day parade and celebrations, denying them their limelight and the gratitude of the British people.
And only 2 decades later, they turn off the lights in the UK and leave for home, such an unwanted effect of Brexit, because boats with illegals arrive in Dover every day :)
What a spectacular site of Krakow Main Square with loads of cafes, landmarks plus the magnificent architecture > truly overwhelming! Glad you're having fun... and explore! Thanks for sharing, Rocket Travels! Also, enjoy the bottle of prosecco.
Hello Rocket, thanks for the video. Krakow has changed so much since I visited it last in 2004 ! It's gentrified today and there are masses of visitors. 2004 was the year Poland joined the EU and, at that time, Krakow had only a few tourists. There were few international flights. What has changed matters since is the arrival of many more airlines, especially budget EZY and Ryanair, who have created the large tourist industry you see today.
Travel = business = ... friend of mine (Dutch) met a Polish ... lasted for a time but still, isn't life a travel tour? And Rocket just does it!! On a budget, so what! That 'just do it' but respectful attitude!! Luv the channel! Thanks for sharing!
What a lovely place and some beautiful buildings you look very tried did you manage to get some shoes and some nice shops you do some lovely content and very interested the tree looks lovely
Diversity allows towns to thrive! Super well recognized economic and social indicator. New York City is the super-proofing of which. Native Americans or Dutch in NYC? Not many! But the world's financial and economic center? Arts? Movies made in NYC? Magnetism for visits: amazing.
Know what you mean but it was funny at 1:20min you walk through tunnel sprayed up with paint aerosol and then at 1:46mins declare "There's no Graffiti around here" loving your video's no slur intended
Can you just imagine that place before it was podestrianized!! It must of been fantastic, I worked with a polish guy back in the mid 70s here in the UK he was a kid during the 2 world war and left Poland and I'll never forget what he told me if you piss out side in the winter it freezes instantly. I was 24 then and I'm 71 now but I'll never forget that!! SOO GUY'S DON'T PISS AGAINST THE WIND IF IN POLAND.😂😂
Your channel is one of the very few I follow closely and watch every video you upload. Wish you more success man with the channel, and we are getting to 10K 🎉
Loving your travels, you are showing us a lot of places I have never been. I admire your ability to travel alone and just doing your own thing. I am retired now and earlier this year I was at Karon beach, Phuket. I would love to go back and explore Thailand some more and I am looking forward to seeing more of it when you get there. Keep loving what you are doing and know this, you are making one old guy back in England very happy and not a little envious lol. Regards Les in manchester
Saint Florian was killed in Austria, but on request of one of the Polish kings, a piece of his "body" was transferred to Kraków. Hence the name of the street (Florianska)
Population of Kracow, 800,000, population of Birmingham UK, 1.1 million are the two cities civic offerings comparable? If not why not. The UK is a far richer Country than Poland with more than double the GDP per capita so it cannot be related lack of funds. The UK's political leaders of the past 40 years should be ashamed of themselves.
Actually, without London the gdp per capita is pretty similar. London is around 64,000 so that massively inflates the UK total. If you add to that land values, labour and material costs and whatnot that are much higher in the UK, not to mention all the money that gets siphoned off by huge international investors like Blackstone, Poland might actually have more to spend in real terms.
All the money is in London and the South East. The vast majority of anything North of Milton Keynes is poorer than most of Eastern Europe. Some areas are as deprived as Romania. The UK has the highest wealth inequality in Europe.
The UK is richer but on the downward trajectory and Poland steadily growing and if nothing changes it is expected Polish economy may surpass that of the UK in the 2030s. In some areas it already has.
Recognize: Birmingham was not a medieval Capitol nor the pride of the nation. Poland (and most nations) have some more or less industrial cities too. And towns can even go through a wonderful revival. UK is wonderful! So is Poland. Each in their own right.
@11:30 "The temperature in Krakow is about -3*C...so you can see everybody is really wrapped up". Guy wearing baseball cap on the left passing in shorts; mumbling: "Flippin' wussies..." probably. ;-) Cheers mate. Happy New year! 🍺🍻🍺
That was great! What an amazing place. Funny how mulled wine goes straight to your head, you'd think some of the alcohol would have been steamed off but it always seems to give you more of a hit than a regular glass of wine. Just looked up Lost Souls alley, I think you were in the right place, it jut must have been closed or something. It was quite scary and weird even so, just seeing inside. Not sure I'd be brave enough to do it!
In most cities, they managed to reach an unwritten agreement with graffiti artists: they paint tunnels, industrial areas, etc. and do not touch residential buildings or monuments.
This is the least we can expect of the main cities in England. At least London, Manchester, Liverpool, and the likes of them should be as clean and neat
You haven't seen industrial towns of Poland - Krakow is a pride of Poland and a UNESCO heritage sight. So: very well maintained. And; generates a lot of tourism revenue too.
@@nas4apps so does that mean we should be okay with how poorly our cities are managed? I am not saying every town but at least London should be as clean.

You clearly have never been to Poland. Extremely tough, impoverished suburbs? Don't make me laugh. Most of them look better than the ones in the UK. Maybe it's time for you to switch the internet off rather than getting your knowledge from some biased documentary made almost 20 years ago 😂
