  • This video shows you how to upgrade to or install Windows 10 onto a Lenovo computer using Install Media that I created for free, directly from the Microsoft website as seen here; • How To Create Windows ... . If you cant create your own, you may have to purchase it. You can see an example of a good install media USB in the Repair Tools list here; www.amazon.com/shop/pcmonkey. Remember, after installing a new copy of Windows, it may be a good idea to process all the needed updates as seen here: • How To Update Windows ... . Check out the FAQ's and Related Video Links below !!

    FAQ's:
Q: Will this erase all my data?
A: Yes, installing Windows as seen here will erase your data. If you wish to retain your data, back up your computer before install. If you cannot access Windows to back up your data, you can either try not erasing the appropriate partition, or removing the hard drive ( assuming its good ), hooking it up to another working computer and getting the data off that way.
Q: It didnt ask you for the product key.
A: Some computer, mostly the newer ones, will usually pull that from the computer itself upon install. If not, you will have to enter it manually. You can see how to check that, and where to enter it if needed at the end of this video.
Q: What if I dont have the option to continue without internet and have to create or sign into an account?
A: If you cannot proceed without internet and you are forced to create an account or sing into one, you can always remove it after the install is finished as seen here: • How To Remove Delete M...
Q: What key are you pressing?
    A: F12

Thank you so much! After a year of my computer sitting in my laptop bag with a blue screen, I finally found a video that helped me bring it back to life. After checking the internet outage here in Canada caused 10's of thousands of problems. If you were in the middle of a down-load or up-date it left your unit fragmented with bits and parts of an incomplete attempt. Blue screens did not work only if you could restore to time before outage. Many could not as there were partial downloads etc corrupting the system. Solution: Either clean the hard drive and re-install system or replace hard drive and load with a back up. Because of age I went with a new ssd and latest system. Problem solved and many thanks to you for all your great videos, Norm

Ya, an interrupted update, reset or install usually damages the OS beyond repair and the only way to fix it is a new install. Anything is a good excuse for a SSD upgrade though lol.

Hey! I installed Windows 10 through install media from my usb drive. Everything works great except the fact that my microphone doesn't pick up anymore. it shows enabled under the mic settings, but on my internet browser, it doesn't work. I've checked to see if the right mic is being selected, but there seems to be no issue there. What should I do?
Edit: So I've figured out that the microphone works fine when I use the Windows voice recorder app. However, any voice recorders on my Internet browsers (Brave) don't work. Doing a test online, i can see that it is picking up some sounds from the mic, but it's really really quiet. Like can't hear quiet. But I can see tiny peaks in the sound wave when I speak into the mic.

When my acer desktop went down it was on a day that AVG was doing an up-grade/install and here is Canada about 90% of all wireless phone and internet services went down for almost a day. Good day! I'm glad I found your channel and I'm hoping you can help me with my laptop's issue. I have a problem with my Lenovo 130-15IKB Ideapad Laptop. After encountering a Windows Update last October, I encountered BSOD with SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED code every time I turn on the computer and shutting it down. The BSOD does not interfere when I'm using my laptop, only during startup or shut down. I am not knowledgeable with fixing BSOD so I opted to reset my laptop this week instead and choosing the keep files option. After I have successfully performed reset, my laptop locally installed Windows 10 and I bypassed the Other User issue. But afterwards, my PC is stuck in safe mode that says "C:WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible". Then I found this video, and I just want to ask that if I do this will this solve my laptop's problem or there are other ways that I can do that is a better solution for my problem? Thank you so much.

Hi! I came to your videos upon experiencing a boot loop issue on my Lenovo IdeaPad S340 laptop. What happens if, while in Setup Utility, the Boot Mode is set to UEFI but it’s in black text and unable to be selected to change to Legacy (plus the “Secure Boot” option under the Security tab was changed from Enabled to Disabled per suggestion on previous video)? I don’t want to do a factory reset and I tried to do a troubleshoot and reset, but it was denied or unable to fix. I’ve restarted again and again after trying several options I’ve found online, but the boot loop issue remains. Any other suggestions? (I don’t want to lose anything from this laptop and I’m scared it’s not able to be fixed.) Thanks!

If changing the settings in BIOS didnt help your situation or you cannot manage to change them, move on to try the reinstall of Windows as seen here; ruclips.net/video/Wu0c8wR5Ltk/видео.html. You can create your own Install Media for free as seen here; ruclips.net/video/g_UhiHScaSI/видео.html. If you cant create your own, you may have to purchase it. You can see an example of a good install media USB in the Repair Tools list here; www.amazon.com/shop/pcmonkey.
If that does not work, it is because your Hard Drive is bad and needs to be replaced as shown here; ruclips.net/video/tNp5Kbo9uHg/видео.html.

Not related to this video, but I really need help on my laptop. I have a Dell Inspiron 14 5000 (5493), and earlier today I spilled about one sip of tea on it. Part of it managed to get under the trackpad, and the trackpad stopped working. I opened up the laptop and cleaned out all the tea, and now the trackpad is really weird. The left click is extremely clicky and the right click is really muffled. Also, the left and right click features only work sometimes. It still senses all of my finger movements completely fine. I'm not really sure what to do now, do you have any suggestions?

My laptop is stuck in the boot loop. I've tried almost everything in the book and nothing is working. I checked out your videos on this issue already. I just got this 1tb ssd in june and for some reason it's not being detected in the bios of my laptop or my dad's laptop. It was working perfectly until right after thanksgiving. idk what happened to cause my laptop to start doing the boot loop. On saturday and sunday, I was able to get it out of the loop by restarting it until it finally working. Today, er monday cuz it's 1 am now, there's no escape. It's stuck like this. When I checked the storage device list page on my dad's laptop, my ssd was detected as a 20mb device and it could not be formatted, and when I tried the windows 10 thing in this video, my laptop also detected it as a 20mb device, so it won't let me fix the windows in the ssd, so I'm gonna assume windows 10 might be the least of my problems in this situation. idk what that's about. my old hdd gets detected by both laptops. it can boot on my dad's laptop, but when I connect it to my laptop it does an infinite repair loop. I tried fixing that and nothing changed, but I know for a fact the hdd isn't the problem because it works on my dad's laptop. Something is wrong with my laptop and my ssd. I'm starting to think my laptop killed my ssd. Also, I saw an article saying that heat damage to the cpu can cause the infinite boot loop, but idk if that's relevant in this case. However, I do have a gaming laptop that always gets hot when I use it and I've been using it almost everyday of this pandemic, and I've had this laptop for 3 years.
My situation might've been caused by a combination of heat damage to the cpu, a bad ssd somehow ($100 down the drain. smh my head), and old laptop.
I'm glad I saved the stuff I like in a usb. Like my memes folder and smash melee. However I'll still have some of my stuff because of my old hdd. rip all the photos I saved in genshin tho. I had some nice scenery pictures I took. They were nice.

Assuming the HDD and the DATA stored on it are still good then yes, you can install Windows without deleting the DATA. You would choose not to delete the partition that the DATA is stored on. Or, you can remove the HDD, hook it up to another working computer via an external HDD link, and get the DATA off that way. Please note, if you dont save the correct partition or if the desired DATA is stored a different way, you may end up deleting it.

The Digital Key was recognised automatically from the old W7 to W10 free upgrade, and W10 Home was installed. HOWEVER - on boot up the F2 and F12 keys to enter bios no longer appear. It goes straight from Acer screen to Windows. How do I get them back (or at least F2) at the bottom of the Acer screen? Reminder - I am not geeky, so keep it "F2 restore for dummies". Thanks.

      @@PC_Monkey Hi again PCM,
While I await your reply to my "F2 has disappeared" question below, I have some additional info that may help. Although my F2 (and F12) has disappeared from bottom of my Acer splash screen on a cold start up, it DOES show on the Acer splash screen which comes up if I do a "Restart" instead of a "shutdown" and, if I click on it, it does take me to Bios.

You may be looking at a bad HDD at this point if you cant even start the install process. Try replacing it and try the install again. If you would like assistance with that operation, let me know :)

Thank you first of all for the really clear instructions! Unfortunately when my laptop restarts it goes into a loop showing Lenovo like it is starting and then a code appears on black screen saying:
The operating system did not shut down cleanly.
    Reconstructing Cache Metadata.
Please do not interrupt this process...
Do you have any idea what I can do about this?
Thank you so much for your help!

@@PC_Monkey Thanks for getting back to my question! :)
I tried following the steps from the video you sent. In the BIOS, I see UEFI in the Boot tab. But I can’t change it to anything else. I tried what you explained in this video ruclips.net/video/dI2xsZ8G_1I/видео.html, which I had seen previously, but even if I disable secure boot, I can’t change UEFI.
I can click load default settings but then the laptop restarts and just goes into the loop with Lenovo sign and the code again.

@@sonja1692 If the steps shown there dont help, and you are not able to reload Windows, your most likely looking at a bad HDD. It should then be replaced and you should try to install Windows to the new drive. Let me know if you want help finding a good HDD or SSD :)
