Thanks for watching! Please consider subscribing to my new channel here: www.youtube.com/@jamminpcs. I'm trying to move the easier hardware stuff there so that I can focus on the more in depth troubleshooting and diagnostic videos here :)
You are awesome. You explain everything perfectly and now I am able to install windows 10 on my Lenovo laptop. That's means I don't need to take it to be repaired for $300. bucks. I recommend this gentleman for any problems with your PC's he is on point 100% THANK YOU!
@@PC_Monkey so it didn't work but I am super glad you explain things so well. Here's my issues, I am a woman on a very small fixed income, I don't have money to fix it. I've been up all night trying to configure and watching tutorials about this device. Would there be any way we can communicate to try and fix it. could you plz reach out to me than I will give you the information you need to contact me. This is just so frustrating and I'm an older woman with lil PC experience and even lol patience 😁
FYI - I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre Tower with AMD A12 - 7TH GEN & couldn't exactly get into the back end the same way, but I found my way into a Lenovo Diagnostics by pressing F9, F10 & F11 (one at a time & alternating repeatedly), while booting up so I have no idea which one of those got me in, or if it was a "secret combination" lol. But, you can run diagnostics on everything with one click, or select one thing at a time. Since I have the error 1962, I tested my hard drive first, which was all good. Now I'm Testing for Bad Sectors, which automatically recovers whatever it can. It gives a warning that you should back up anything important if possible because any automatic repairs could erase data permanently. After testing, I'll try to give an update with results. Thank you for organizing your videos in such a way that it makes it MUCH easier to troubleshoot quickly & what can possibly be skipped etc. It makes a big difference. I've been chasing down problems after one of the major WIN 10 updates a while back. (I let ads run to reward you for your time ;)
From a long time user of the old bios with the blue, black and white interface and a new user of this kind of bios, thank you very much. Appreciate you man.
Thank you so much for the clear instructions. My employers' IT department had put so many layers on my personal new laptop I didn't think it would work. But it did!!! Thank you again.
Thank you very much for this tutorial, i tried to make a dual boot to try Pop OS but somenthing went wrong and i was stucked to the boot screen. Now everything is fixed, thank you again :)
My laptop appears to be downloading WINDOWS 10 . Praying hard that it works. I have been working on this for 9 days. This is the farthest I have gotten.
@PC Monkey I am having trouble resetting to factory my m700. It has one of my passwords on it and I can't remember to save my life..lol it is a little desktop
@@PC_Monkey My fiances laptop is locked out and it gave a number to call and they are trying to tell her she needs to pay 300$ to unlock it, it sounds like a scam anyhow how can she unlock it, her browser wont work
@@jflame01 Yes, thats is 100% a scam :(:( Is the computer locked so she cant get to Windows or is the computer working but she just cant use a browser?
Thank you for having this information. I got TWO Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga L13’s by accident. I bought one or my wife and set it up and then she walked in with one from her job. How do I reset this to sell it? I have done the reset twice but it keeps going to the place where I have to log in and answer security questions. I tried to do the long reset and got to the page where it said press escape to not to do the TPM-Or someting meaning to dump all the information I think-and to press F9 to continue but nothing happened when I hit F9 over and over. Then I hit escape by mistake and started all over again. I just want to sell it and have it turn on to the welcome screen for a new owner. Thank you SO MUCH!
If the factory reset does not complete or does not accomplish what you desired, you would then try to install Windows new as seen in the last portion of this video.
@PC Monkey Hello. I have a Lenovo z400. It came with win8 and today has win8.1because an update. I still do not leave the pc as factory...and I want it (junk files, maybevirus, etc). Do you know if I do it ... the windows activation key (different from the serial installation) or product id remains and will everything work fine? He currently has a pirate office ... I don't know if he killed the original one in the hidden partition? I remember using kms or kmspico something like that ... I want to reestablish the factory and that everything works fine. Another thing: My pc is slow but I can gonin windows wothoutproblem... should you restore with the Lenovo onekey or better go to the menu in windows and put the factory reset? Which one will be more likely to be successful and not fail? Thanks
Hey... I'm having problems so with a quick search, I came across your RUclips videos. Love your videos. Unfortunately, I still have no luck with my issue and will appreciate your help. I have a Lenovo Ideapad L340 laptop. I have randomly lost access to windows (I get the bluescreen error, stating missing files). I followed some of your videos and managed to get into Bios. I can also get into the Blue screen with the reset, troubleshooting and other options. All the options seem to fail. I also went on the Lenovo website and created the recovery boot up thing on USB storage, however, I can't get the laptop to boot from the USB. I tried going on the automatic repair screen and tried recovery by selecting EFI USB as well as the internal storage, HDD recovery and also by selecting My USB Storage but it just boots back into the error screen. Do you know any other way I can restore my laptop? My drives are showing up fine in the BIOS screen...
@@PC_Monkey Thanks for your kind reply. I managed to get Windows installed by using your method on USB Storage. I left it at that as it was time to go to work but will see how I get on with getting the Lenovo stuff back during the weekend.
Hey- I need help. All my Lenovo will do is open the boot menu that looks like it’s from the 80s. It won’t let me select the boot manager which is the only option there is. Any thoughts?
Nice video Thank you i need a help my amd igpu isn't showing bcoz of error 182 i have deleted everything about amd now I can't install it anymore my igpu isn't working dgpu is working taking so much battery power if i factory reset it can i get my amd igpu back
Hi, thank you. I love your video. I purchased a Lenovo 9i Thinkpad. Some of the number keys didn’t work and I’m returning the laptop to Lenovo. I have attempted to reset to default settings. But my profile with photo and PIN are still on the computer. How can I be sure all of my information is removed?
I have an issue where last night, everything was perfectly fine and I was on Chrome, Today I wake up and log into my Lenovo laptop and I find that my downloads (including my games and some of my game data), pictures and captures are gone. I go back into Chrome and I'm signed out and my bookmarks are gone as well. After I re-downloaded some of my stuff again, I restarted my computer to see what would happen and sure enough, my downloads and stuff are gone once again. It's like my computer did a whole reset or something by itself and I'm completely lost as to how this even happened or how to fix this issue. Do you have an explanation for this?
It sounds like you may be able to help me. I have a Lenovo that asks for a Bitlocker key that I don't have and I am not likely to get. It also does not give you the option to "skip this drive" like some videos show when you Esc from the Bitlocker prompt. Can I do a reset to get rid of this, or is there anything else that can be done?
Thanks been searching how to hard reboot on youtube but hard to find one. You share it very clearly for me as a beginner. okay can you sent me the link how to get the free software install please. awaiting for your reply.

Hey, I know this video is already a year old but I'll try my shot here. I've bought a Lenovo legion 5 laptop that had windows 11 and I installed windows 10 just by preference, however after it installed all of the apps that came already with the laptop (Lenovo apps included), settings and even the legion wallpaper disappeared and I even tried resetting the laptop again and moved it into windows 11 but all of what I mentioned above is still missing, is there any solution for this? Thank you for providing such excellent help with your videos!
Thank you for the video , I have resetted my PC however it's been turning off and on shoes the Lenovo sighn with a small white loading ball it's been doing this for almost 10 hours
I like your video. I just purchased Lenovo. It makes Microsoft one driver my default driver. I no longer have one driver instead, I have google drive. how I can make it my default driver. Thanks
Thanks for the video. I have a question. I upgraded by Lenovo Thinkpad X1 from Win10 to Windows 11. and later on 'reset' windows to go back to windows 10. ....Now it doesn't give option to go back to Windows 10. I really want to go back to Windows 10 using LENOVO FACTOR image. I doubt if windows 11 overwrote the windows 10 when I upgraded to windows 11. How can i check if my Lenovo factor image with windows 10 is still intact ? Thanks
Hi I have Adobe on my laptop as well as my Desktop PC. The thing is the memory on my laptop is full. I cannot add any more programs onto my laptop. Can you please advise. I followed your video to see if this would help free up space on the laptop. While doing a hard reset to factory settings my Lenovo idea pad S130/14/GM. Does not have enough free space to do this. Can you please advise?? Many thanks for this video also.
If the factory reset does not complete or does not accomplish what you desired, you would then try to install Windows new as seen in the last portion of this video :) You can see how to create free Install Media here; ruclips.net/video/g_UhiHScaSI/видео.html. If you cant create your own, you may have to purchase it. You can see an example of a good install media USB in the Repair Tools list here; www.amazon.com/shop/pcmonkey. Thank you for your videos! I have a question regarding hard drive, is there a possibility to retrieve any data from Lenovo laptop if the hard drive is dead? I really appreciate your time
If the drive is bad, usually not :( You can try hooking it up to another working computer and see if you can access the data that way. If not, try bringing it to a repair shop. Sometimes we can get data off 'bad' drives :)
What’s the difference between “local” and “cloud”? We don’t have a usb handy, just wondering if we need to make a recovery drive before doing the full factory reset. (Full details: my browsers are suddenly saying they’re “managed by your organization” except I’m not part of any organization and this is my personal PC. I’ve tried uninstalling Chrome, deleting everything connected to it, resetting passwords, etc. and it’s still saying that. And we just noticed it says the same thing on MS Edge. Hoping a full reset will get rid of whatever is doing it 😢)
If your computer is turning on and working normally, you should be able to factory reset without creating a recovery drive. If your computer is not turning on and working normally, what is the issue?
Lenovo Ideapad 320 had to be factory reset. ( I used you! and thank you) It has been doing the reset and I became hopeful and found it kept "resetting this pc 72%" for about an hour and a half. What did I do and how do I get it to work correctly?
If the factory reset does not complete or does not accomplish what you desired, you would then try to install Windows new as seen in the last portion of this video.
Will this be the same/ similar process for a Lenovo V14 laptop with Windows 10 or windows 11 installed as I setup my Lenovo v14 laptop by making a new Microsoft account/ email which us completely new/ got it new for the 1st/ first time ever. Thank you, Tom.
Thanks for your guidance, but when resetting my Lenovo yoga I get to reset blue screen, , I get to selections, continue, use a device, troubleshoot, or turn off yr pc. I hit troubleshoot, I get to reset this PC or advanced options, in select reset this PC, I'm at keep my files or remove everything, I hit remove everything, now I'm at cloud download or local reinstall, i hit local reinstall and it brings me right back to continue, use a device, troubleshoot, or turn off yr pc. And it just keeps bringing me back here after hitting troubleshoot, reset this PC, remove everything, then local reinstall, back to continue, use a device, troubleshoot, or turn off yr pc.
Hi Jamie I have an HP Pavillion Slimline Model S5-1210T it's from 2012. Last 2 Microsoft Updates ,crashed my PC. Was able to fix using WINDOWS reset. This time the 3rd MICROSOFT update crashed and I can't fix it. Was able to do a factory reset, but it crashed again. Tried a Windows repair disc ,nothing works. Can't get into BIOS or CSMOS. Tried all reboots nothing works. Screen is stuck on black start up, where it says press ESC key for startup menu. Has some other info about processor type, speed, cache, memory size, channel A,B, and BIOS revision date. On the last fix I tried with the repair disc,it said THE HP recovery. Drive is missing, and now I can't get any BIOS or CSMOS repairs to work. Also the CAPLOCK light will not go off. It was a good PC till the last 3 widows updates. Do you think you could help? HP only wants to sell me a new PC . Thanks for any help and I would be happy to pay or donate. Thanks again Eddie
Hope you can help.. I recently updated the bios that Lenovo pushed a few days ago. Everything worked fine until today. I'm getting "Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed" . The Bios shows "Hard Disk not detected"
Will the backend option work on an ideacentre model? I was able to pull up a startup device menu using F12 but all options in it take me back to BIOS. No options for factory reset. I first tried F9 thru F12 before reaching this menu. Shall I try other function keys to find the reset option? Thanks! =)
1. Your computer may not have these options. Does yours have a NOVA button or a pin-hole reset? 2. Does your computer load up to Windows so you can reset from there? If not, what is happening when you try to start your computer?
@@PC_Monkey No NOVA button or pinhole. This is your second video I watch after recommendation from first where I replied regarding the 1962 no OS found error my Lenovo ideacentre pc encountered. Nothing with BIOS has worked as settings there were all set. I was trying to reach the auto repair feature using one of your videos to no avail. I'm either down to HDD issues which I'm reluctant to deal with as I hear no sounds from it that indicate issues. Or, a bootable image install of OS. Your videos have been helpful as I try to ultimately pinpoint issue before fixing. Thanks! =).
So, first day my keyboard starts entering the wrong characters when I type, second day the wifi stops working while it does work still on my other devices. Then today the whole computer turns off after a while. I even had a blue screen. The computer only starts when I press the keyboard and when I press it while its on it turns off. It might be a software issue but it seems like the whole laptop is breaking down. Nonetheless, what is your advice? Would a factory reset have chance of fixibg this?
Hi I managed to remove the laptop hard drive from the acer E1 523 model and I will be buying the hard drive. please could you advice what do I to clean the laptop so there is no data before I fit the new hard drive. Do you have a link to download on usb to load windows 10 which is safe to install. This is the first time I have ever done this. Very grateful for your advice and help Thank you J
You can see how to create Install Media for free here; ruclips.net/video/g_UhiHScaSI/видео.html Most of the data is stored on the Hard Drive. There usually nothing to clean on the computer if the Hard Drive has been removed.
Good morning. I hope you can help me. I am a full-time college student pursuing a degree in Accounting and I use my TP 490s daily. I do not know what happened or why it happened, but this morning, my PrtSc button stopped working independently. One Google site says to combine it with the Window Logo key ... others say to use the F mode key... yet others say to use a combination of keys + the PrtSc button. I am very busy multitasking between using my laptop, tablet, and phone to complete many assignments weekly ... I do not want to add additional steps to perform the same task I was doing with one button. Up until yesterday, I only used one button (PrtSc) and I would like to keep it this way. Would you happen to know what may have caused this? I called customer service and was told it could have been an update, but my update history shows the last windows update was performed at the end of April. Can you please help me fix this?
Yes, most likely that was due to an update. Operational Update. Very hard to track something like that down to a specific update or a specific part of an update and then to reverse the update. Updates usually provide more benefit than they take away. Sry :(
Any advice if you keep getting an error every time you try to factory reset? It keeps telling me I don’t have enough space. I keep deleting things but I still don’t have enough
If you need to free up more space, try deleting data as seen here; ruclips.net/video/Dt5_GXotTmE/видео.html. If that still fails to work and the reset still wont complete, try reinstalling Windows 10 instead as seen at the end of the video.
I am trying to reset a computer from my old job that issued this computer that has since gone out of business and it is not giving me the option/step of "just remove my files" or fully clean the drive" how do I get around this?

My lenovo L540 thinkpad is still operational but has a lot of problems. Like lot of keys are not functional, slow wifi, slow performance etc...so, is factory reset the best option or is there a better option?
A factory reset will help if the operating system having errors is the cause of part or all of those issues. Slow wifi and slow performance should be helped by that I would guess. If the keys are still not working after the reset, refer to this video; ruclips.net/video/wqrchfpdJ_w/видео.html
Hi there! I'd like to seek your advice on my factory reset issue. I just bought a second hand ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th generation laptop and I tried resetting it to factory setting. In resetting, I chose local reinstall of windows. Then it went to "Resetting PC (up to 100%)" , then it asked me to confirm clearing the TPM - Trusted Platform Module by pressing F9. I hit F9 and it went to a screen with the Lenovo logo at the middle and the message "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter." I knew that factory reset could take several hours, but it's been almost 7 hours and my laptop screen hasn't changed. I'd be very grateful if you could share advice on how to proceed from here. Thank you in advance!

Hi Thank you for your guidance. I have an ACER Aspire 3. I was working on it yesterday snd it’s died. No help received from Acer. I followed your F2 tutorial but have not been able to move on from ‘No bootable device’ can you help please
If you have already tried to change the settings in BIOS as shown in the previous video and that hasnt worked. You would then try this factory reset. If the factory reset does not complete or does not accomplish what you desired, you would then try to install Windows new as seen in the last portion of this video. If that fails as well, your most likely looking at a hard drive issue. Replace it and install Windows to the new one :)

Hello! I’m really stuck with my Lenovo. Have tried a few of your videos but it’s not coming up with the options needed. It turned itself off and now when turning on it comes up with blue keyboard layout screen. Then once selected, it only has “advanced troubleshooting” or “turn off” there is no reset option and all of the options in advanced troubleshooting come up with errors. So I wonder if I need to try and fix it via cmd prompt? Although I have tried typing a few things in (which means nothing to me!) after searching on Google but to no avail! PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks so much in advance.

Thanks

Is there a way to login in or reset your Lenovo pc turning it off learning the WI-FI disable toggle turned by any chance?

Hi Jamie
I have an HP Pavillion Slimline Model S5-1210T it's from 2012.

Hope you can help.. I recently updated the bios that Lenovo pushed a few days ago. Everything worked fine until today. I'm getting "Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed" . The Bios shows "Hard Disk not detected"

Sry :(

Hi! I have a Lenovo Yoga laptop, I’m having issues with wireless connection I tried uninstalling the Intel (R) wireless ac 9560 driver but ended deleting. It doesn’t pop anymore when I click on “ Scan for hardware changes”. Please help! Thanks 🙏
hey its Nicholas again. thanks for the referral to the keyboard video. i have one more question, i just reinstalled my windows and i am experiencing a problem where my apps- or the windows drive in general are too slow. is that normal once youve restarted. initially it starts with the windows taking a very loong time to restart, then when i use any app, it is unresponsive every few minutes. what can i do?
Usually, after a new install, the computer is trying to process all the updates at the same time as running your computer. It can slow things down. Try manually running them all quicker as seen here; ruclips.net/video/DDv2gJDjfOM/видео.html
Hey, thank you,
@@nicholasbanda1515 Your welcome !! Happy to help :)

Was trying to download a program for school work. Saw later my Lenovo laptop has opened an "Administrator:C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe" I don't know what to do. Any help?
Hi! I want to factory reset my laptop just to clean all the clutter that I have accumulated with the years. I have passed all the important info onto a USB drive. Would resetting it this way work for my case? I want to keep my OS; just want to clean all the apps and documents in it and then add back all the important stuff I put in the USB drive
Yes, sounds like this is the procedure you would want to do :)
Hi, my laptop is lenovo thinkpad x200 windows 10, it has pen support but later on i discover that it say "no pen and touch available for this display" do you think by resetting my laptop it will get back my pen support. I have question , satellite p75-a7200 laptop has two bays , drive is in bay 1 , but shows up as if it's in bay 2 and it,ll boot into windows , can hear fan & DVD sound like normally do ,but shortly afterwards laptop will shut down / reboot , I can hear little click type sound from beneath keyboard, changing bios setting from UEFI to CSM still does same thing , i.m leaning towards ether bios or M/B problems, thanks John also changing boot style causes no O.S detected until you change back to UEFI in bios
Using the steps seen here; ruclips.net/video/Nqn8-jJFx2Y/видео.html can you find an error that matches the time the computer shuts down?
If the factory reset does not complete or does not accomplish what you desired, you would then try to install Windows new as seen in the last portion of this video.
@@PC_Monkey Man, you're godsend! thank you so much, I got it fixed following your solution! i can sleep now!

"Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart" has been happening for so long and I can't do nothing about it. Would fully cleaning the drive work?

Good luck !! Let me know how it goes :)

If you going us f8 it doesn't work
1. Your Lenovo computer wont turn on and load Windows? If it does, you can try to reset from the desktop. If not, what is happening when you try to start your computer?
2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?

Plz make a video on how to factory reset lenovo ideapad S10-3
Your on that video now. Have you tried the steps seen here?
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad and have been stuck in the endless reboot loop. So I was going to factory reset my PC but keep my files (I have to have them). I received a “there was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made”
What would be the next step?
If the factory reset does not complete or does not accomplish what you desired, you would then try to install Windows new as seen in the last portion of this video.
The options come up with errors? Like the testing finds errors with different things?
@@PC_Monkey thank you so much for your response. After trying all other options in BIOS, cmd prompt etc I managed to sort it with the install media USB. Thanks so much for your very helpful videos :-)

I am using LENOVO YOGA 520 8gb Ram , Core I7 7th generation, I see the loading windows takes time and the operations arent that fast most of the times. Thinking to reinstall the windows again, should I reinstall or do factory reset ? Please let me know the best way.
I would first make sure all updates are processed as seen here; ruclips.net/video/DDv2gJDjfOM/видео.html
You can also try deleting unneeded DATA as seen here; ruclips.net/video/Dt5_GXotTmE/видео.html
If those two steps fail to help, then yes, I would try a factory reset :)
