FAQ's:
Q: What kind of USB do you use?
A: I usually use a 26GB USB like the one seen here: www.amazon.com/shop/pcmonkey/...
Q: Can I use my phone instead of the USB?
A: I have never tried using a phone to get Install Media before. I dont think I would risk my phone that way as in order to create the Install Media, the USB is usually formatted and all DATA is erased. Наука

Shouldn't the USB key be formatted to ExFat or NFTS,....formatting to Fat32 limits files to 4gb and Win10 install seems larger than 4gb

So I can do this for the new PC im building? Currently using a laptop. Downloading windows onto my USB like your video shows. I wont have to pay for Windows 10 on the new PC?
At the end of the video, when you're formatting the USB, RUclips recommends the next video & blocks part of the screen where you would see you formatting the drive. As it is, i can not see what you're formatting the drive to. Whether it is NTFS or exFat etc. Pls let us know.

Hey Thanks for the great videos....What ssd hard drive upgrade would you recommend for a lenovo yoga 7 year old 2 in 1 laptop? Thank you very much!!
I think anything that would fit that m.2 slot pcie x4 80mm 42mm should work. You can check the user manual, the manufacturer website, or sites like crucial.com and they can scan your computer and offer ideas on upgrades :)
Hi, can I downgrade a Dell Inspiron 5565 laptop From Windows Pro to "Windows 10" by simply putting in a new hard drive and installing Windows 10 or (home) using an USB drive with windows 10 download on it? 2) Will I be able to still get updates from "Dell Support" with windows being downgraded? I must be missing something. But if you can't boot at all I guess you need another computer to do this? I have tried to change from UEFI to legacy but get an error to install a boot device and press any key. When I change back to UEFI the computer goes into another start up loop. I have tried to download Windows into a USB, but the USB is in (E:) and Windows Setup is telling me that there isn't enough space in (C:). It doesn't show me the USB Stick as an option. What do I do?
You may need to use a different USB if the computer wont download the Install Media onto that one
Does it mean I can't use USB flash drive anymore for other file collection once I use it as bootable drive?
No. You can use the USB for anything as long as its still good. You may have to erase the install media on it or reformat it though in some cases
thank you

When it asks where I want to Install Windows, it only gives me an option of Driver 0 Partition and then it says Windows can't be installed to this hard disk space. It must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS. What does that mean? I have replaced the old hard drive with a SSD. Also, I downloaded Windows 10 to the USB to put on the PC that has the new SSD hard drive but do I need to download drivers to the USB too?
same here. aparently no one knows the answer
So by following all steps, I can plug in the USB and download windows 10 on another computer?
Yes, as stated here, if you create the Install Media USB, you can then use that USB to install Windows onto another computer :)
Bro when i try to open the media creation tool from files it keeps telling me that an error occured during loading the archive pls tell me what to do
Your computer turns on and works well other than not being able to create the install media USB? Have you tried to format it yet?
Hi, great vid by the way.I am trying to do this on an old gaming laptop from about 2011,I think. But when I reach the part where it asks do you want to allow this app to make changes,I select yes.But it is just saying it is not compatible with this computer. Is there anything I can do?
Are you trying to upgrade the computer your currently on to Win10 or are you trying to create the USB? If your trying to create the USB, did you choose the correct option (the secong option) so its creates the USB and not so it tries to install it to your computer?
@@PC_Monkey thanks for replying.I select to download ISO then when it asks if I want to let it make changes to my computer it says, unable to run this tool on your pc Error code 0x80072f8f-0x20000.
It also says my DLL is missing or corrupt 😦
can you do this for windows11?
When is the License required? And do you need OS or OAS License number?
In most newer computers, the install process pulls the product id code from the motherboard. As seen here, there isnt a need to manually enter it. Are you being prompted to enter that code?
Hey mate, trying to do this on a Mac book to put it on a usb drive for my asus laptop. do you know if it’s possible? I’ve download the file but when I double click to run it, nothing happens 😢

I downloaded the windows 10 media onto my flash drive and got my computer to actually start installing it. After hours it said an error where one of the .dll files may be corrupted and the installation would need to restart. Any idea why this would happen? Thanks!
I tried to download to a new USB but got an error code 0x80072F8F-0x2000
I was trying to update from a Windows 8 pro as well as an older Windows 7 pro and got the same error code.

Are you trying to create a Windows 10 install media USB and your getting this error? Or are you trying to use a Windows 10 install media USB to install Win10 to a computer and getting this error?
I normally use my Phone as a USB drive to store files. I am sure there are others done this too. If I use my phone as a USB drive, will it mess up any files on my phone?
I usually dont recommend that. So I know you can do it as others do successfully. But I cant recommend that on my channel. There is a chance of loosing files.
@@PC_Monkey it actually states that the USB drive will be formatted and all data lost prior to writing to the USB drive. Notice is just before I clicked next to start writing to the USB. I just created one and noticed that. Not good for a phone ;)

2. Have you tried reformatting the USB first? Or using a different USB?
good presentation, I am in linux so this is problemomatic...
Can I still install it in the same PC with the bootable flash drive I selfmade
The same computer you created the USB with? It may be easier to just select the "Update Now" option here: www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
I didn’t even have the chance to install it. This pops up on my laptop
You’ve been routed to this page because the operating system you’re using won’t support the Windows 10 media creation tool and we want to make sure you can download Windows 10.
I am doing this of my MacBook laptop to put on to a USB tk connect to my first gaming pc. Why can’t I do it
I have never tried it but would assume there would be issues trying to create a Windows Install Media using non-Windows machines.
When the install options come up on the other laptop, it has "Update" (amongh other things in that box), but my laptop gives the message that "updating" is not an option and it will not load. I have forced the USB boot from the BIOS, but I can't get passed that "Update" box. The laptop had 10 Pro on it and just faded out one day. It does respond to BIOS commands, but will not load Windows. I can only save the ISO file as a web link, so that doesn't work and it won't load from the Cloud either. I was doing nothing special when it failed; it just faded to black. Any ideas?
What brand computer do you have? Are you sure the HDD is ok? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
Please show how to reinstall windows 10 without activating windows on hp laptop

After a successful install, you should be able to remove the USB and use the computer normally. You are able to do that? But after turning the computer off and then on, you see the boot error again and have to reinstall Windows new again?

I had a Lenovo computer with Windows 8 on it. The hard drive went bad or at least I was not able to get it to work. I got a new hard drive but did not have any recovery tools to reinstall Windows on the new hard drive. In bios, I did see the Windows license number and did write it down. Any advice on getting Windows 8 put on the new hard drive. I hate to throw the computer away since it was fairly new and I had had no problems with it before it crashed. I believe the screen went black and I tried everything to get it back up. After trying to get the computer black screen to work without luck, I took out the hard drive and transferred all my data on to my current laptop so I would not lose my files. Then a reformatted the old drive, hoping to be able to reuse it. The old hard drive was not usable for some reason, so I bought the new hard drive. It seems that the bios was not booting up the new hard drive because it kept wanting to boot on a USB or DVD. I was getting frustrated with it. I watched one of your videos and was able to clear the bio to boot on what I want but the computer is not recognizing any Windows in which to boot up. Any advice. Sorry this is so complicated.
So just to be clear, your unable to install Windows 8 onto the new hard drive? What happens when you try?
@@PC_Monkey Thank you for responding. I could not get the Microsoft UBS Recovery Drive for 8.1 to download from the Microsoft site to download to a UBS drive. It says support for 8.1 has ended. I was able to unlock the problem with my bios only wanting to boot from an external dvd.

So, if a hard drive dies on my laptop and I buy a new one to replace it, when trying to put win 10 on it, do I have to initialize the new hrd drive? If so, how do you do that without Windows? Or does Windows automatically do that for the hard drive that you are putting Windows on? It's been a long time since I've put a new hard drive in a system but last time I did it I had to go into Windows management and initialize the hard drive so that the PC could recognize it.
