Quick update for you, Krauss- We have obviously seen some of the chatter on "stacking order" and while we know that our autolocking mechanism and drop down stacking make this the fastest system around in any order... we stand up for our professionals' needs and are ALWAYS listening to what you want from us. We have a receiver plate in production that adjusts half-boxes so they can accept full size stacking on top. Coming in just a couple of months!
Glad to hear it and yall are listening! I think it should have been announced along with the pre release that rolled out, so it wouldn’t have been a question mark when bringing it to market. Like all the other information that was released for 2024. 🫡
I figured they add that as an accessory they said they were adding 250 accessories so I figured that was one of them. Me I think it's best for people to keep the 1/2 boxes on top anyhow or solo on its own stack next to everything else.
@Bigdog1787 last I heard, this was an oversight. Theyre making a change rolling forward that all models will have a lid that works without the adapter plate, that plate will just be for OG buyers.
@KoolinwithKrauss It would've been nice if you showed us the literature pamphlet that came with the TB boxes. I wanna see how "modular" this system is in comparison to Mil Packout. I just left Lowe's HI and they were sold out on several TB boxes.
I've seen and heard a lot of complaints about the box not being able to open while stacked. This is a silly complaint from my standpoint. That's a quick easy way to smash/break your finger or have the box flip over and rip the lid off. Sh*t happens, and it's usually when we're in a hurry.
Being able to get into a box that has a box stacked on top is super valuable imo! I do it all the time. And it's key when putting stuff away at the end of the work day and your dog tired and have forgot to put something in your mid box and have 2 other boxes stacked on top it's fantastic to be able to just crack a box open say 3 or four inches and put something in its correct box. Of course drawers make the need obsolete but when your using boxes without drawers it's clutch imo.
This is an absurd complaint. Who on earth is doing this regularly? Sure to the guy who mentioned tool at the end of the day. Thats what the passenger floorboard is for.
it’s really not absurd? yall must not really work out of a work van or on job sites, I have my packout set up and constantly go to the middle, to bottom even, my xl box with just the trey on top, not being able to get into a box while stacked is very important, again like the one guy said once drawers are introduced won’t be issue but need to be able to access any box at any time.
I'm LMMFAO listening to you want to say something mic drop worthy but there's nothing bad or negative to say because it's nice and you like the sh*t. That's Mic Drop worthy in itself.. Thank you for the content and effort brother. 🔥💯🔥
Appreciate it dude!! Ya they put out a solid product, walked into Lowe’s recently and saw some new stuff they dropped and 🤯 it’s going to be a great 2024 for toughbuilt.
Just found your channel bro, excellent review, i been trying to find out more about these and wll the other ones seems like a two, three minute video and thats a wrap. Especially appreciate letting people know up front you a Milwaukee guy but still able to give another brand its props. Alot of Milwaukee guys only see red. Im a Dewalt guy myself and not all thrilled with my tough system( it aint that tough) keep doing what you doing bro appreciate you
Hell ya Josh appreciate that 🫡 I’ll always keep it real about everything, sure I like to tag on other manufacturers and tool users it’s all in fun, and if anyone ever been on a job site they know how it goes 😂 I would put this one over the tough system 2.0, tho the 2.0 has a lot of benefits with their system to and more options (currently) this would be my second choice if I started all over!
Thanks, this was exactly the insight I was looking for. Trying to figure out which system I want to go with. And it was between this and Milwaukee. Still researching but this helped!!!
Awesome!! I think it’s a 1a - 1b if toughbuilt could get their manufacturing together, or figure out how to get the new stuff on the market with their issues with Lowe’s! but seems they’ve completely stalled 🤷♂️ Milwaukee wont have that problem.
Great overview, thanks! You are correct about the Crate… one of my most used items and yes, it needs to be on top. Also lots of wasted space with the octagonal shaped bins. That said, having just checked out their website, TB isn’t holding back! Coolers, Lights, Fans, Mugs… going for the Milwaukee jugular lol. Great to have great choices… especially non-China made ones!
@@KoolinwithKrauss Seriously considering this system. I love Packout, but not being a Pro or GC, I actually have far more Wally’s Hart Stack cases at the moment for Photography, Firearm, and Cycling hobbies… I’ve been surprised how well made they were for the price-point. Found out they are being made by Keter in Israel. I’m waiting for them to fail so I can get something fancier lol, but they just won’t… had the same problem several years ago with my B&D power tools… finally just gave them away and bought better :D.
I like it more than Milwaukee, more storage and stronger for sure, honestly in comparison to Milwaukee this company surprised everyone with the quality and the easy of used , I agree that you can't open the box with another box on top like we do with Milwaukee but it's not easy you gotta force it and every time you do that you put stress on the bottom of the latches at one point if we keep doing this they will fail , but the tough build quality on this system it makes my Milwaukee looked like cheap plastic, well i spend $360x 2 to save $100 on each combo that you choose ..
Good review! I've been looking at all of the systems for quite a while and was blown away by this system. That stacking issue is a big one. See it may be addressed next year, I hope. :-)
Yes they will be addressing it!! If looking into the systems I think this can definitely be in the top of the conversation as one to grab if not already in a system, especially with the 2024 lineup
I do want to point out one thing that the way the box is built kinda gives you that impression that they thought about the material itself and how toughbuilt wanted a certain feel and quality to them. If you blind fold your eyes, you can probably tell toughbuilt apart from Milwaukee just based on the sound of the lid closing and how you fumble around with the bins inside them. There's also that uniform style like you said making it more modular. I am a fan of the handles, not how they are placed though, but how they work because I always felt the Milwaukee side and front handles are a little rough when you lift them or grab them. Toughbuilt on the other hand has this certain soft finish to it unlike the Milwaukee. Then again, I do like how the handles sit nice and flush with the box itself rather than making it apparent. Black is also a very underrated color as it keeps it out of sight at night.
Solid points!! They definitely nailed the aesthetics on these, very clean and streamlined and allow for easier loading van/trucks. I believe there handles are nicer as well, I think I used the term “premium” for the feel 😂
I myself have liked the idea of the stackable systems. However, I've never been convinced enough to buy one due to all the different problems each one has. As well as just happily paying for a name brand for the name, I won't do it at all. Instead, I research everything first. I then don't buy the biggest fanciest most expensive one either. I find something useful and valuable in the middle price range, and that will do the job I ask of it without much issue and within its abilities. That is where the best deals always are. Also, last but not least, I refuse to buy the newest, most recent, and highest tech out there. I wait and see what others deal with in the real world applications before I decide and purchase items.
4:16 I’m a Packout guys and Milwaukee fanboy too. I do have 6 of the ToughBuilt ClipTech pouches. I think they are awesome and I’m excited to see where TB takes this. I agree with you on the footprint. Not sure what that will do the to space in the bed of my truck. How much will I have to reorganize and configure.
I really think they can be competitive honestly, I think for configuration purposes keeping the half’s out of the stack make the most sense (since you can’t stack on top) but also the regular size boxes all are very square and flush it would be easier to manipulate!
Great system, except can't open a lid when another box is clicked in on top!! It is annoying, but hopefully they adjust design to solve. I'll look to see if I can find some way solve myself with my first set. Some slight design tweaks and Toughbuilt will have an awesome system.
One of the big pluses for me is the flatter, indented tops of these boxes.I can imagine setting some small parts/tools there while working.A much better usable space than the packout.
I am Milwaukee Red all the way, my van is halfway packed out. Taking another shelf set out and finishing the wall. Can't think of any reason to change . Packout is quality stuff.
I can deal with the handle and not opening when stacked, but no full size boxes on top of half size boxes is a huge no for me and i imagine lots of other pros... maybe version 2 will fix most flaws
I picked up one of their large tool boxes a couple months ago and while it seems sturdy, it's developed some play in the lid hinge. I have to nudge the lid over to the left a little bit for it to latch properly. Initially I thought I had something sticking up too far but no, just developed a little play in the hinge somehow which is strange considering it mostly stays closed and doesn't get moved too much. I also got five compact organizers, a crate, a rolling box and a medium box yesterday. I'm a little torn right now because everything looks great and feels great but the inaccessibility when stacked really throws me off. I'm having to figure out a new work flow in my truck, right now everything seems to slow me down more than having my original workspace set up where I can grab things that are stacked recklessly on top of other stacks of tools or random boxes. A lot of moving boxes around to grab tools so I'm going to split everything up into three smaller stacks so it will take up more space than I wanted but I think it will work out in the end. It's mostly to protect my tools anyways since I'm constantly throwing ladders and heavy pieces of wood/metal in my truck and now that I've invested x amount of dollars into my tools it just seems wise to have a rugged storage system. Great review dude!
I have had a similar issue to my large box and the latch actually popped off 🤷♂️ it slid back and locked in place haven’t had another issue… yet. The inaccessibility truly sucks because I’m just use to doing it, but I currently have a stack in my new work van and I got a 3 drawer and single drawer which helped. Stacked next is crate, large organizer and the 2 half’s. But I’m still able to quickly unlock the top 3 to get to the crate. But still a pain. But it’s just about working with a new system. Appreciate it bro 🫡
I don’t have any pack outs right now but am in the market for some to organize my van better. Right now I am leaning towards Milwaukee as it’s just more modular and that flexibility means a lot.
I think if your ready to start stacking your van out, just with all the options Milwaukee has ready right now is the way to go, if your able to wait until next summer when they release the other you could have a better idea. But for now packout bro, join the dark side #rednation 😂
@@KoolinwithKrauss I prob will go with Milwaukee. Don’t really want to wait till next year. Probably won’t go crazy with line some people I know👀. We shall see.
Im still trying to figure out how anyone would know where all their tools are when they are put into any of these systems ? They seem great but identifying what’s inside each one is my problem . I’d definitely go with the Milwaukee .I like the fact that they aren’t made in China . How do people know what’s inside each one when you have 10-12 different boxes . I wouldn’t think writing on them ?
I would use a label maker or take masking tape and a permanent marker and label them or number your boxes and use an excel spread sheet to list the contents of each box...just some ideas.@@RoyalKennedy601
Have used packout for years but after 2 weeks of toughbuilt there is no comparison, it is superior over milwaukee, the way it latches together is leagues ahead of the old red
I currently just got a new work van (mini Nissan nv200) and I have packout and toughbuilt. Packout is mounted to the plates. But toughbuilt isn’t secure which does suck. Wish they had the plates but I saw some online 3D printed. Slowly rolling out the line.
I just checked them out at Lowes and noticed that you could not stack a full width section on two half widths. However, I can easily just put one off the half storages with the 6 compartments and a bag on top.
You can definitely manipulate it to work, most people won’t even need to stack it with full box on top of the half’s. I think this will be a great solution and system for anyone looking to get into a modular tool storage
Ye gotta say being a Milwaukee fan these tough build boxes look nice.i think Milwaukee should have made the packout with more accessories like other companies have, that’s the only thing im jealous of.
Got a Flex Rolling toolbox sent to me by mistake (I had ordered the Toughbilt). Was planning on taking it back to swap for the Toughbilt but I really like it because it has a front handle to grab when taking it out of the truck and the pistons on the lid just work so well. BUT I much prefer the way the accessories attach to the Toughbilt, not only the mechanism being easier to use, but more versatility on position. Being able to only attach the wire spool roller when I need it is a big thing for me. That and I already have a bunch of Toughbilt pouches.
Lately I haven’t been seeing any toughbuilt at the 2 Lowe’s I shop, I’m seeing a lot more of the flex. And much say that struts are pretty fantastic. The accessory line up for the toughbuilt is going to pretty impressive (from the looks of it)
Im just waiting for the great powertool storage market implosion. There must be a huge anticipated market for all this stuff, because it's getting crazy. I went to Lowes a while back and saw those flex boxes. I went again a few weeks ago and they were all gone and there was a new Klein box system there. It makes me dizzy
🤣 yeah it’s definitely a thing!! People love it, I think for the renders of the plfuture drops by tough built, there looks to be some sort of power tool platform coming out by them! It’ll be interesting that’s for sure!
I have a packout...and I'm getting rid of my rolling base. It's the most useless thing I've ever bought. I'm going to pick up the two wheel cart, and build my packout on it. I absolutely can't stand I have to remove everything above the base just to get into it. It should've been a drawered box, or front opening. So the 2 wheel cart with some mods to it, seems a better fit for me..
The Milwaukee 2 wheel cart?! I thought about snatching that for same purpose. Toughbuilt is dropping a drawer rolling box which is fantastic and I think Ridgid. Milwaukee will wait until the pipeline this year to release it next year 🤦♂️
@KoolinwithKrauss 1 drop tools into them 2 Put more than the recommended weight In them and wheel it around 3 drop them out of truck with weight or tools in them.
I think they probably didn't care as much about making them accessible while stacked because they already plan to release a variety of drawer versions unlike milwaukee who felt like they took awhile to release drawers
Not really bc milwaukee came out with the dolly cart and can stack boxes in any order including the cabinet on the bottom plus can you lock down a whole stack of the toughbuilt like you can with milwaukee
Come spring they will be releasing their drawer system. That's kinda what i wanted to check out, put em on the dolly that's coming out with the drawers. Still milwaukee packout all the way
I only have the packout set that way because that’s how toughbuilt was advertising their stack, with the crate in the middle. I wouldn’t put the crate in the middle, the crate would be on top of half boxes which would be on top of full size boxes. Because the crate would have material that would stick out of the top. In my van tour video you can see the lay out. It’s just logical that way. Can’t have drawers on bottoms followed by 2 half’s and and over stuff crate on top.
Noooo? Dang I hope not. I do have an issue with one of my ammo can style ones stuck but I threw it all around in the dirt and stuff. But they have it to where to part is replaceable tho with taking the box apart. Hope it’s not a trend tho 🤞
@@KoolinwithKrauss let me know how the replacement goes ,look up built review guys bottom box ,he said it's heat related maybe but looks beat up his box also
My biggest gripe with the packout is the bottom rolling box being inaccessible without a handle mod. Sure, you can crack it open, but you cannot get down into the bottom of it. Toughbuilt is making a bottom box with a big drawer instead of a flip top, which is a no brain solution someone should have already come up with. I'd want to see how the water runs when you open the lids of the boxes. I've had my packout boxes out in the rain and everything stays dry until you open the lid and half the standing water from the lid dumps inside.
Definitely agree, when they drop the rolling boxes with the draw I think that will be a game changer and cause a lot of people to shift or at least look more into toughbuilt and invest. If you happen to check out Adrian over @reliablehvacr he actually does do a water test with the lids.
You showed us just before that you can actually flip the thinner screw trays to the perpendicular angle. Why don’t you put the screw trays in this perpendicular angle and put that crate on top of it?
the thin organizers are the same shape on top if flipped and that wouldn’t change the locking mechanism and a full size box won’t fit the top of halves in any way
I almost bought the Toughbuilt, but several of their boxes you can't lock.....some you can. WTF? I have no use for something I can't secure at the site. Bought the Milwaukee and didn't look back. I think Toughbuilt missed the boat on this one. If you keep your stuff at home, I'd suspect this wouldn't be an issue.
I think just the regular stack (3 piece) has the locking feature on the side, outside of that I’m not quite sure. That would be a major flaw there as well, for me they stay secured in my work van as I just do residential service, as far as commercial and job site that sucks. Good point
To me the weirdest thing is that the organizers never match the height of the ammo can. I thought 3-4 should have the exact height but checked it yesterday at the store and nope. But then again you can't stack a full width on top of the half width anyways, so not that bad I guess
Wow really?! That’s interesting, I didn’t notice, maybe if they make larger halves it will help! On packout 6 slims or 3 regulars equal an ammo thanks for the feedback
Fun fact. If you stack half boxes on your crate, and you grab one and give it a hard wiggle, it will release off the crate. Little fun surprise if driving down a rough road😂😂😂
I'm certain we can all agree that this is an outstanding deal, well built, and intelligently designed. The "major flaw" was shameless clickbait. Once the top containers are filled with heavy metal tools, you'd be a lazy idiot to trust that hinge to carry all that weight.
Unless your just a bitch about it, with “heavy metal tools” on top, no one flips the whole stack open so the hinge flex’s. Need enough to tilt and grab what you need and roll with it. Not clickbait, the majority have said that’s a deal breaker. Not sure if you work in the field or out of a work van but it’s actually a big deal.
I mean if you haven’t been in a store and realized it takes less motion to open and close one in a stack then your opinions are a bit off. You release the box above. Slightly tilt it and unlatch the bottom box. Release the upper box and it seats and falls and you can now open the lower box. You can remove the handle to get into the lower box. If you have to move between every tool this might seem inconvenient but these are 1x latches and can be activated with one hand. This system is leaps above everyone else’s and the future releases are great. They listened to everyone and made products to fit functional uses. If you want to stack boxes 10 high and get Tools from the bottom without installing well you are using it wrong. I’ve used them all and the two latch system sucks. Before toughbuilt, Milwaukee had the best latching system. Gravity will latch your box to the lid below. No one else’s does that with a front to back latch and orientation doesn’t matter. They latch front to back or back to front. They all have a built in tool tray lid because that is useful. I’m grabbing some of the smaller boxes now and getting the drawers as soon as they are available. Ridgid 2.0 has the most useful bottom box now since handles are removable but tough built is changing the paradigm.
Thanks for the video. It looks solid but looks like a step down from Milwaukees quality. So to me, as long as it’s cheaper than Milwaukee, seems like a decent setup.
It’s really solid man! If you get a chance to get your hands on em at your local Lowe’s to get a feel for them. For the buy more save more right now their more affordable then packout. Thanks for watching 🫡
Absolutely, packout also collects a good bit of water. . But buddy of mine over on @reliablehvacr did a test with water and showed how it puddled up pretty heavy on it. But agreed with you it’s a big bowl 😂
Said idk what Packout was rated, while pointing at the rating on the organizer and if it (packout) was ip65 like toughbuilt since ip65 is water “proof” not just water “resistant”
I’ve been waiting for someone to throw some shade at it… please talk me into not buying it 😂 👍👍 I use crates more than anything else. I don’t like that I’d have to make sure I use them a certain way.
I think toughbuilt was strategic enough that when they sent this stuff out to ppl they made it to where that wouldn’t be able to be seen 🤦🏼♂️ 😂 I tell you these crates are beefy and plenty more room the packout, but we will keep it 💯 here always 😅 but it’s not bad dude can’t lie
@@KoolinwithKrauss yeah I like the look of it… and some of the features. I’ve just been hoping someone would talk me out of wanting it. I ain’t jumping the Packout ship… just seeing the slim organizer size was enough for me to pause. I’ll hold out till I at least see some drawers. The Garage stuff they have coming in the future is pretty sick.
@@MORGANSMaintenance I’m here for you bro DONT BUY IT 🤣 Honestly since this thing did just come out of nowhere they still had time to roll out maybe a mounting plate and some drawers, but their going all in and I ain’t mad at it, it’s interesting as hell. Not sure if you went into Lowe’s and got your hands on it but feels 👌
@@MORGANSMaintenance 🤣 seems like they got back to the original Christmas prices 🙏🏻 219 for 3 pc and saw the 2 and 3 drawer combo on tool boss’ channel for 250,
My guy, I loved the video. However, i can tell you dont like to read 😅 3 minutes in. You said you dont know the ip rating, but it says ip65 on the handle.
Most R&D departments are not end users day in and Day Out they need to put about a 100 guys in a room and then use them for what they really want to see and a tradesman's box me personally i'd like to see larger boxes than this that incorporates stacking just like they use in the touring industry
Very true!! Get a solid panel of real full time contractors brainstorm and put it into motion! Only makes sense, maybe it was done 🤷🏼♂️ their future looks promising
That’s honestly a dealbreaker. I was so excited for these. I have so much packout and I have been waiting for Milwaukee to release a bottom rolling drawer box. Because I can access all the rest of my boxes while they’re still attached the fact that you can not do that with this ruined it for me. Why would they do that? That’s so stupid. Such a good design with a huge flaw. This may not be a dealbreaker for collectors and DIYers but for a lot of people in the trades this will be.
Definitely agree!! It’s wild how it made it thru, unless the have some plan to release something else 🤷🏼♂️ but I’m constantly going to the middle of my stack without removing anything from the top. Had high hopes, might give it some time in the field and see how it does, but no mounting plates either!!
@@TheStaniG drawers do not have as much interior space. Plus drawers don’t work well when you want to grab just one box and go, they are designed more as stationary boxes. They don’t have the top and side handles like the larger boxes. They removed a option from the system by designing it this way.
Agreed! I keep mine on the mounting plates in the work van that’s where it’s really convenient for me, definitely wouldn’t want to do it on the stack would for sure tip 😂 thanks for watching
I don’t roll mine in anymore it’s stationary in my work van but I have 2 boxes with boxes on top that I frequently do! Once the drawers come out won’t be an issue
Have been going back and forth between the Milwaukee and Klein systems (was waiting for Klein to release some more components before investing in a new system). Randomly saw these ToughBuilt boxes in my local Lowe’s this morning and just handling these and seeing/feeling how beefy they are may have sold me on these. I also like the way the locking mechanism works. I had heard ToughBuilt was making this stuff but hadn’t seen it in the wild until today and I was genuinely surprised. It wasn’t even on my radar because I assumed it might be junk.
I felt the same way about Klein but didn’t bother with it, feels to light duty to me! But this toughbuilt stuff 👌 looking good, although I’ll say that the locking mechanism on my ammo boxes always have gotten stuck and get stiff, tried taking about to see with there was dirt and debris in the spring but didn’t see anything. Looking forward to the 2024 catalog
As a cabinet installer, 40 units into packout for 3 years. Positives for me in order. #1 Using metal gussets for strength first, and accessories of which I never use. #2 The uniform modularity (due to the metal corner gussets),is very space saving for a truck or van where space is at a premium. Upcoming next year. #1 The folding (hospital gurney like) carrier is a game changer. #2 large single drawers. #3 modular wall system. #4 the bar on latch side of lid. #4 the sheer amount of #sku's they will be releasing next year. Now for the negatives. #1 I can see the tops distorting and can see problems where I live in Ga.. .and will be untouchable from may-sep when we can reach 100 degrees, also debris causing latch issues from misalignment. #2 the latch being offset and neither intuitive and hard to open in tight areas. #3 not being able to open the lower, without unstacking . #4 plastic latches again in serious uv positive GA. Currently have to much packout to change now, however some things like the carrier i will adapt. I have three 1/2 depth full width for screws, lid in the middle doesn't always keep screws from immigrating to other bins. Currently have crates hanging from crates. The width of drawers vs crates is about 4inches ,X 5 stacks and you lose the availability of an extra stack.
Solid points all across!! It’s hard to switch after being heavily invested in another system, only time will tell how these do!! The future roll out I think is what’s really going to separate themselves if they can keep the time line! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I live in az where temps regularly hit 120. I also do carpentry and I don't really see it as an issue. I've had ridgid boxes for a while which feel flimsier and have actually melted from tools before, but never from the sun.
LOWES doesn't have any stock to buy and Toughbuilt will not accept direct orders. Where can I buy the product?? Don't They understand that if there is no way to buy product, they will not make any proffit??? It doesn't matter how great the product is if there is no way to buy it.
I’ve had that same problem , and have emailed toughbuilt direct about the issue I’ve experienced. And only got a response is that their experiencing shortages themselves 🤷♂️ unfortunately
Take 2 identical vans and outfit one with Milwaukee and the other with Toughbuilt. You will lose a minimum of 20% storage capacity switching from Milwaukee to TB.
You're "big drawback" about not being to open a box with another on top is a non issue for me. I have some heavy stuff in my Ridgid boxes and would never try to open a lower set box with crap on top. That doesn't make sense to me. Just take the top boxes off or get a drawer kit. I did get to look at the toughbuilt gear a few days ago. I'm a toughbuilt fan and seriously thought about trading in my Ridgid boxes for the toughbuilt set.
Was a “big” drawback just said it was one. I constantly go in the middle of a particular stack in my van to get things I need., shown in work day videos. I also don’t overload the boxes on top. It’s a couple slims packout vac and packout light. But I’m able to do it. Toughbuilt has a great product here for sure and 2024 is going to be epic
@KoolinwithKrauss I work out of a Dodge Ram Promaster City. It's a small van with not too much room after the company put shelving in it. My Ridgid stack sits in the back behind the passenger seat while my toughbuilt XXL rolling bag and large tool tote sit behind the driver seat. I usually don't take the whole stack out of the van unless I'm at a larger job that requires a lot of different tools. Because my stack is full and there isn't a lot of room in the van, I've got into the habit of taking the stack apart when getting things out.
Funny. I sort of like that you can't lift the bottom crate when it has stuff on top of it. I can just imagine the idiot who has hot coffee on top or some power tool. You tilt the whole unit and drop it on someone. From a safety stand point, it is a win.
I purchased TB system because the handle can be removed, absolute stupidity on milwaukee's part for not making this . All milwaukee red tools in a TB SYSTEM. 😂😂😂
STACKTECH is innovative with their latching feature but with the few oversights on their part just made Milwaukee Packout that much better. People can say what they want about the prices of the Packout but they have it locked down with how it can be stowed.
Well put 💯 there is potential here with stack tech for sure!! The margin on price point has gotten so close recently between all manufacturers it’s almost a no brainer where to go if looking to invest
System has two major flaws one someone was dumb enough not to release the drawers at the same time mainly because that's what everybody wants not boxes you have to stack and unstack and stack and unstack two some more on at Lowe's has decided not to fill every store with this stuff just certain stores which is pathetically stupid
Ya they definitely should have dropped the drawers, and roller drawer box from the jump. Would have been a major shake up. And that is dumb they’re all not carrying them?? 🤦🏼♂️
Just my opinion, all these goodies are great. BY all means get efficient and quick. Nevertheless, over consumption is a serious problem. Too many are not properly getting set for retirement. You ARE going to need more than your parents saved, and in this environment that is increasingly difficult especially if you’re over consuming and under investing. Tools are an investment too, i get it!
The tough built uses only the lock latch to hold the boxes together. Packout uses their whole top with 4-6 connection points, slides in and grabs the complete top of the box below. 1000 times stronger connection between the two boxes. Milwaukee’s unlock latch just unlatches so you can slide the top one forward to release the holding power. Milwaukee for the giant WIN!!!!
I do love some packout! I think their locking point are the better option. Toughbuilt tho is a great system option also! I think their being more innovative then Milwaukee.
I gotta say that I prefer this new system over Milwaukee and Dewalt. I will be getting this to replace my current packout. Also, I'm just gonna say it. Your "Major Flaw" is really click bait, come on buddy. Milwaukee has many major flaws.... The biggest is their inability to listen, respond, and change/upgrade in timely manner. Toughbuilt has responded and is making changes now to your so called major flaw. Anyway, keep up the hard work.
Nah that’s a major flaw to me for sure and many others. When I work out of my van my half stacks are below crates, if you can’t stack on half’s with a full box then that’s a major flaw in the system. I also consistently open middle of my stack no problem. Some complain because it’s “dangerous” and you could get hurt. Well I’m not that guy and that what I do to access my stack, and in packout it’s doable. But If it wasn’t a major flaw then they wouldn’t be making a change, it’s being changed and new products/designs implemented because it was a…. Major flaw. Their 2024 looks promising and I’ll keep introducing the stack tech into my rotation.
Right?! Only thing was that you could finagle it a bit to get it open if necessary by unlatching box on top and slightly lifting but then you wouldn’t be able to re latch it 🤦🏼♂️
For all you dopes jumping off the Milwaukee Packout ship, please send your "shitty" Milwaukee stuff to me. I swear it seems like Toughbuilt employees are writing all these comments dogging on Milwaukee. Newsflash, Milwaukee is still King of the friggin' hill. They have more boxes, accessories, & mods being released all the time. I'm sick of hearing about so & so is coming out with a stackable rocket launcher next year that will rip Milwaukee & new ass & bankrupt them, blah blah, blah. Get a grip people.
What the title has do do with what are you talking about? You are a milwaukee person ? Stay a milwaukee person. You already have a stack of boxes which look like you never take them to the job because they look pristine , what is the point talking about other bones ?
What you could do is watch all 100+ videos of me working and showing the tools used during work and my set up. The point is , if you’d listen, I was intrigued by the stack tech and it’s a great system but there’s flaws that maybe if someone were to be looking at getting into a system, they might over look, that’s why bud. Also my channel is tool reviews, bag loadouts and hvac, it’s really not all that difficult to see why I made the title the way I did and created the video I did 🤦♂️
Thank you for your efforts to educate others before they got in to trubel. At this point, your efforts and everyone else who believes the trade are appealing and is useless, young generation wants... HOW TO GET REACH FASTER ... not how to be ... HAPPY TO SERV ... and make some money in the process . Working people are leeched in the process of making anything GREAT AGAIN !!! by piles of exploiters , agencies of human resources, umbrella companies so you can get paid, and on top of that, a guy who knows a guy , who knows another guy who has the job, and by the time the job gets to you, you almost make the job for free in not bringing money from home or from a credit card. This toolbox flagella is nothing else than another way to squeeze more money from the working people , and comes with professional reviewers like you. In my 25 years of struggle in construction, I realised that having evrithing in assorted boxes is just a stupid pride, and I paid the price for that .
I've their levels , but they need carrying cases
This is so sick. Another handful of jellybeans in the Toughbuilt jar…
This will be my first system
I already use their bags and pouches and i love them. I really like what i see with the rolling system
This is a great system. I think once more come out, I’m inclined to move from packout to them honestly.
@KoolinwithKrauss
It would've been nice if you showed us the literature pamphlet that came with the TB boxes. I wanna see how "modular" this system is in comparison to Mil Packout. I just left Lowe's HI and they were sold out on several TB boxes.
@@travelinman482or you could just google it?! 🤷♂️ they have a whole site dedicated to the catalog.
@@KoolinwithKrauss
Then, what's the point of watching your video?
@@travelinman482 🤦♂️ to see the actual product and NOT the literature?! 🤣 😂
I've seen and heard a lot of complaints about the box not being able to open while stacked. This is a silly complaint from my standpoint. That's a quick easy way to smash/break your finger or have the box flip over and rip the lid off. Sh*t happens, and it's usually when we're in a hurry.
For sure, can’t say I’ve ever had that happen to me, once the drawers are released will off set the issue! Overall tho 👌
It really is a silly complaint. One remedy is to simply unlatch and lift the box above the one you want to get in just enough to clear the latch.
Im a Dewalt guy myself and not all thrilled with my tough system( it aint that tough) keep doing what you doing bro appreciate you
Hell ya Josh appreciate that 🫡 I’ll always keep it real about everything, sure I like to tag on other manufacturers and tool users it’s all in fun, and if anyone ever been on a job site they know how it goes 😂 I would put this one over the tough system 2.0, tho the 2.0 has a lot of benefits with their system to and more options (currently) this would be my second choice if I started all over!
dang I had no idea packout was made in Israel. That just made deciding between these two very easy
Yes - go PACKOUT!
Fuck Israel. Free Palestine
Their 2024 lineup looks epic!!! Will definitely turn things upside down I believe. Let’s see what it brings!!
@@cohoonatube time for the upgrade! 😆 Won’t be disappointed!
It’s wildly sturdy and rigid, really strong feeling! Just those couple draw backs but this set will definitely shake up the storage market no doubt!!
The 4 drawer system looks amazing , all do , my DeWalt vacuum fit perfectly
They have not been out long enough😂. Some of you will bite on any marketing.
😂😂😂😂😂
Good review! I've been looking at all of the systems for quite a while and was blown away by this system. That stacking issue is a big one. See it may be addressed next year, I hope. :-)
Yes they will be addressing it!! If looking into the systems I think this can definitely be in the top of the conversation as one to grab if not already in a system, especially with the 2024 lineup
Have a couple Milwaukee pack out drawers that have broken and they won’t honour warranty so think I’ll try these next they’re looking great
I got the drawers for toughbuilt. Their solid, still some things they should have looked at in development but I just have them in my van
Thanks for the review. TOUGHBUILT is a great product, and I love the lineup.
They are a solid manufacturer for sure!! Excited for the future !
That’s my biggest thing, since I keep most of it stationary in my van! Otherwise I really like it!
Truly spoken as a Milwaukee fan boy!!!!
Just being honest 😂 but stack tech is 👌 I like it!!
One of the big pluses for me is the flatter, indented tops of these boxes.I can imagine setting some small parts/tools there while working.A much better usable space than the packout.
I can envision there being a small part tray that locks in on the top for those, I do like the shallow tops too. Very streamlined
I am Milwaukee Red all the way, my van is halfway packed out. Taking another shelf set out and finishing the wall. Can't think of any reason to change . Packout is quality stuff.
Quality for days I don’t blame you I wouldn’t change and won’t either Mike 😅 😂 but did want to get my hands on it and check it all out!
Hey brother really like your video. But is that a dust or an orb at around 3:30 ?
Solid question 😳 just looked back, I’d assume dust from garage 😂
Great intro review. I look forward to the future tests you mentioned doing.
Appreciate it 🫡 stay tuned will be coming soon!!
Best system in the business I think
I think so, there’s short comings but there is for every system. I believe I’ll be switching to the stack tech here soon
Got my first stack, quite impressed.
It is pretty impressive! I think 2024 will be 🤯
Just take my $ TB@@KoolinwithKrauss
I can deal with the handle and not opening when stacked, but no full size boxes on top of half size boxes is a huge no for me and i imagine lots of other pros... maybe version 2 will fix most flaws
They’ll have to come out with something I would think!! For the most part good stuff but man how that slipped thru 🤷🏼♂️
@@fshn76I don’t blame you, those people are weird 🤣 😳 go packout man you won’t regret it!
I love them both, I really was hoping toughbuilt would take off but seems like they’re at a bit of a stand still! I keep both in the van
I'm going to have to wait until the mounting plate is available. I really like the size of the crates. I feel like packout made them too small
I currently just got a new work van (mini Nissan nv200) and I have packout and toughbuilt. Packout is mounted to the plates. But toughbuilt isn’t secure which does suck. Wish they had the plates but I saw some online 3D printed. Slowly rolling out the line.
Damn I was about to pull the trigger on these 😢
Thanks for pointing that out 👍🏻
😂 I know the feeling!! Appreciate it!
They got Mr Milwaukee too! 😂 sheeeesh. Can't wait for that durability test
🤣 my man!! Idk if I want to now if I have to return these 🤣, see you keeping the stickers on to!!!
I love my toughbuilt I use it for media stuff
It’s a great system for sure!!
ANYTHING is better than the color red ...thats all ima say ....cool stuff brah !!
Don’t you dare!! That red looks so clean with the door open 🤣
@@KoolinwithKrauss ima find you some kinda magnetic door locking system or a bungie cord to shot them doors
Such a brilliant comment 🙄
Ye gotta say being a Milwaukee fan these tough build boxes look nice.i think Milwaukee should have made the packout with more accessories like other companies have, that’s the only thing im jealous of.
Oh these things are definitely slick!! I love the profile and the 2024 roll out looks insane. I’m actually contemplating on swapping them out 😳
7:45 Me too. I love these but I do prefer the metal double latches of the Milwaukee and Ridged boxes. Only real thing I dislike for myself.
They’ve been pretty awesome so far, I like the build quality of them for sure.
Drill holes for wrench and driver
Milwaukee will wait until the pipeline this year to release it next year 🤦♂️
Try removing the handle to access the bottom compartment. See if that works
Able to like force it a bit I generally leave on of the more accessed boxes unlatched
Looking forward to the durability testing 💯
If you got any suggestions let me know 😂
@KoolinwithKrauss
1 drop tools into them
2 Put more than the recommended weight In them and wheel it around
3 drop them out of truck with weight or tools in them.
I think they probably didn't care as much about making them accessible while stacked because they already plan to release a variety of drawer versions unlike milwaukee who felt like they took awhile to release drawers
Definitely!! Their roller drawer and other items look awesome 🤯 Milwaukee has gotten to complacent imo
Still milwaukee packout all the way
Same!! That drawer roller and that gurney style dolly look wild 😳 but red nation for sure!!
Like button smashed
That’s cuz you the man 🫡 what u think of em?!
Simple. Just put the half size cases on top, just like on your Milwaukee's behind you. Not an issue.
Is now tough built buttons are getting stuck & not opening recent weeks updates smh 🤦 anyone else experienced this?
Noooo? Dang I hope not. I do have an issue with one of my ammo can style ones stuck but I threw it all around in the dirt and stuff. But they have it to where to part is replaceable tho with taking the box apart. Hope it’s not a trend tho 🤞
@@KoolinwithKrauss let me know how the replacement goes ,look up built review guys bottom box ,he said it's heat related maybe but looks beat up his box also
Do you know when they are going on sale at Lowe's
You should have them now in your local Lowe’s, in the holiday deal section
Thank you
You know if the milwaukee is on sale already too at home depot?
So at the depot they are having buy more save more on packout as well, the 3 piece “starter kit” comes in at 219 👍🏻
My biggest gripe with the packout is the bottom rolling box being inaccessible without a handle mod.
Packout is sweet but my truck got robbed for mine. It's too desirable. I'll go with Ridgid or DeWalt or maybe Toughbuilt next time
Dang no way?! Sorry to hear that! I’d go with the toughbuilt honestly
He doesn’t sound biased or disappointed towards Milwaukee at all. 😂😂😂
What gave it away?! 🤣 was it my fanboy comment?!
You showed us just before that you can actually flip the thinner screw trays to the perpendicular angle. Why don’t you put the screw trays in this perpendicular angle and put that crate on top of it?
the thin organizers are the same shape on top if flipped and that wouldn’t change the locking mechanism and a full size box won’t fit the top of halves in any way
Will these be sold in the UK?
I’m not quite sure! I saw someone got them over there but someone had to send them over. But that was a few months ago
Wish there was a one stop shop here in Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦 . RONA has a little, Princess had a little. No one has all their stuff.
Hopefully they can get it up your way! Or possible online?
Where are you finding these cheaper prices? I see the packout on sale right now but dont see where the stack tech is that price or even sold together
At Lowe’s in the holiday deal section up against the wall is where I found em!! Right by the entrance
@@KoolinwithKrauss my lowes still did not have them out a couple days ago
I can only imagine the feeling of having that handle pull out when you are half way up a flight of concrete stairs.
Could you imagine??? 😳
Fun fact. If you stack half boxes on your crate, and you grab one and give it a hard wiggle, it will release off the crate. Little fun surprise if driving down a rough road😂😂😂
Sounds like you have some experience with that 😂.
Looks good! Still like the Milwaukee system better and I’m a DeWalt guy 😂
Had some high hopes, it’ll definitely be viable option for sure!! But packout right now for sure!
Great review brother
Thanks brother J 🫡
I mean if you haven’t been in a store and realized it takes less motion to open and close one in a stack then your opinions are a bit off. You release the box above. Slightly tilt it and unlatch the bottom box. Release the upper box and it seats and falls and you can now open the lower box. You can remove the handle to get into the lower box. If you have to move between every tool this might seem inconvenient but these are 1x latches and can be activated with one hand. This system is leaps above everyone else’s and the future releases are great. They listened to everyone and made products to fit functional uses. If you want to stack boxes 10 high and get
Tools from the bottom without installing well you are using it wrong.
Why isn’t anyone pointing out that the top is basically a big bowl for catching rain?
Absolutely, packout also collects a good bit of water. . But buddy of mine over on @reliablehvacr did a test with water and showed how it puddled up pretty heavy on it. But agreed with you it’s a big bowl 😂
man smash them like nothing, good job bro
Appreciate it 🫡 Did a small durability test, will be doing another 👍🏻
Bro howd you miss the IP rating? Its literally on the product lol....
Said idk what Packout was rated, while pointing at the rating on the organizer and if it (packout) was ip65 like toughbuilt since ip65 is water “proof” not just water “resistant”
Its the opposite of milwaukee bcuz you cant stack some boxes on top.of the crate theres pros and cons to milwaukees system too
Pros and cons for sure!
I’ve been waiting for someone to throw some shade at it… please talk me into not buying it 😂 👍👍
I use crates more than anything else. I don’t like that I’d have to make sure I use them a certain way.
I think toughbuilt was strategic enough that when they sent this stuff out to ppl they made it to where that wouldn’t be able to be seen 🤦🏼♂️ 😂
I tell you these crates are beefy and plenty more room the packout, but we will keep it 💯 here always 😅 but it’s not bad dude can’t lie

Honestly since this thing did just come out of nowhere they still had time to roll out maybe a mounting plate and some drawers, but their going all in and I ain’t mad at it, it’s interesting as hell.
Not sure if you went into Lowe’s and got your hands on it but feels 👌
@@KoolinwithKrauss mine still hadn’t put it out.
I hope everyone does buy it… maybe Milwaukee will have to drop those prices 😂
@@MORGANSMaintenance 🤣 seems like they got back to the original Christmas prices 🙏🏻 219 for 3 pc and saw the 2 and 3 drawer combo on tool boss’ channel for 250,
Kinda need a company to make drawers for the bottom roller box
You’d think that be the first thing, buuuuut toughbuilt will be releasing the bottom roller with drawers this year, sooner then spring I believe
My guy, I loved the video. However, i can tell you dont like to read 😅 3 minutes in. You said you dont know the ip rating, but it says ip65 on the handle.
😂 definitely don’t like to read!! But I was saying I don’t know what the IP rating for packout was comparatively! Thanks for watching dude 🫡
ToughBuilt is way better than, horrible/expensive Milwaukee systems
So far so good, except after locking mechanism is getting stuck after debris got in it, no issues on packout in 6 years
Ridiculous comment. You must be a ToughBuilt employee.
@@whatnow5313 why? Are you a Milwaukee employee?
Most R&D departments are not end users day in and Day Out they need to put about a 100 guys in a room and then use them for what they really want to see and a tradesman's box me personally i'd like to see larger boxes than this that incorporates stacking just like they use in the touring industry
Very true!! Get a solid panel of real full time contractors brainstorm and put it into motion! Only makes sense, maybe it was done 🤷🏼♂️ their future looks promising
@@KoolinwithKrauss there also needs to be a briefcase design for techs that also attach with features for meters and soldering gear etc..
Thanks
Absolutely 🫡
The drawers are in the upcoming releases lol yall need to calm tf down....
@@TheStaniG drawers do not have as much interior space. Plus drawers don’t work well when you want to grab just one box and go, they are designed more as stationary boxes. They don’t have the top and side handles like the larger boxes. They removed a option from the system by designing it this way.
Not opening mid way thru the stack not a big deal for me. If you are opening there you risk tipping the entire thing over!
Agreed! I keep mine on the mounting plates in the work van that’s where it’s really convenient for me, definitely wouldn’t want to do it on the stack would for sure tip 😂 thanks for watching
I don't open my milwaukees while they're attached anyways honestly.
I don’t roll mine in anymore it’s stationary in my work van but I have 2 boxes with boxes on top that I frequently do! Once the drawers come out won’t be an issue
I like that you can't open it with more boxes on top so people don't steal my stuff
It’s good in that aspect for sure!! Great system to be in!
I’ve already swapped from Milwaukee
It’s a solid choice!! The future is 🤯
This same loadout is 299.99 now
Whatttt? Wow it’s in line with prices of packout. It definitely competes
I bleed red go team red often imitated never duplicated
Red nation brother 🫡 💪🏻
Not a deal breaker for me, I have no use for those halves.
Solid!
Tiene más ventajas que Packout
Agree that ammo can is no good
LOWES doesn't have any stock to buy and Toughbuilt will not accept direct orders.
Interesting!! 🤔 I will have to get a couple of toughbuilt drawers to match what I have now and put it to the test.
For sure I totally get it! I mainly keep all my storage locked into the van, and open a lot, but drawers have eliminated a lot of that
I purchased TB system because the handle can be removed, absolute stupidity on milwaukee's part for not making this . All milwaukee red tools in a TB SYSTEM. 😂😂😂
Took Milwaukee some years to finally release one but gave the other companies time to do it well before them!
I know that’s right!! Stash away the money put it into something to get return, totally agree!!
Thanks for letting us know where they're built. I refuse to buy anything made in Israel.
Your welcome!!
Major flaw. Their 2024 looks promising and I’ll keep introducing the stack tech into my rotation.
that flaw of not accessing thing on bottom, makes it a dud.
Right?! Only thing was that you could finagle it a bit to get it open if necessary by unlatching box on top and slightly lifting but then you wouldn’t be able to re latch it 🤦🏼♂️
Lol becareful Toughbuilt does not allow criticism of their product on their own RUclips channel. They’re coming for you lolol
I’ll be waiting!! 😂
Wait there’s a stackable rocket launcher? I’m in 😂 Milwaukee still reigns supreme at the moment, but that 2024 catalog from toughbuilt looks wild.
stupid mistake new dwbox
