This is the exact set up I have, toughsystem trolley, 2 drawer boxes on the bottom and the large box on top. Batteries fit snug in the bottom drawer, then drill bits second drawer, accessories 3rd and 4th and power tools on top. Makes it easy to load into the Ute as well as the heaviest box is on top so no bending and it stacks better too in the vehicle so I have access to batteries etc without having to pull the whole lot out. Dewalt should consider making a larger drawer box with built in wheels
Great set up , depot recently stocked 2 drawer box, I grabbed 2 and I'm going to modify both of them to one deep drawer by cutting out bottom of top drawers and attach together with t washers and strips of cut offs making deep drawers/ chest style for bigger 7¼ saws rear handle 899 sawzall jigsaw, cordless router / accessories
I've been looking for something like this video forever. Been looking at how people organize their tools in the Touch System and have had a hard time finding anything that isn't just Dewalt marketing pictures of tough guys walking around in mud with their tool boxes
It's funny seeing how other people organise because to me my go to tools are a circular saw and an impact. My combi gets so little use I almost regret buying it but it comes in handy now and then
Have you ever thought of reaching out to DeWalt to get affiliated links to their website. You would make a ton of $ on commission. This video will have people buying their system and tools. This video is perfect for how I would like to organize all my DeWalt tools and batteries. No more pilfering through a pile to get what you need & being able to transport them from garage to back yard where the work gets done easily and more efficiently. Thanks for a great video! My only suggestion would be to mention the actual box you are working with by its DeWalt item number… like DS300 or DS450… etc. There are so many options for these systems… so if someone would like to copy what you’re doing in the video… they will know which box and which mil foam to buy. Thanks again for a great video! I will be ordering foam from you soon!
Thanks for the great suggestions! We've reached out to DeWalt many times and are always told no, so whether it's a case of we aren't talking to the right people or if DeWalt aren't fussed, we will keep trying because I agree with you.
You should take the cut out from the circular saw and stick it down on top the foam under where the motor is. It would fill in the space enough to stop it having as much movement but still only use the material from one layer
A more efficient idea with the toughsystem 2.0, you’d need the trolley though for this, is to put 2-3 sets of drawers on the bottom, a large box on the top and then half box organisers above that. Obviously with 3 drawer systems and a the half organisers it can be pretty high, but it means you don’t have to unstack anything. I run 2 drawers, large box and 2 half organisers. Fits everything for carpentry
@@ShadowFoam I’ve got some kaizen foam, not sure if there is a company that makes pre cut inserts in Australia. If they do I’d be down to get some. Although foam does take up ALOT of space. If anything I’d use it mainly for my hand tools/drill bits and loose pieces etc. tools themselves may not be practical space wise
Hello batteries and accessories like bits and lasers sure good to have foam. Other stuff just line the box with thin foam and it is muuuuch more space efficient
@@majstrujeme8352 batteries are pretty robust these days. You could get away with lining the box as well but lining it with foam is annoying. You either need to glue it in or find a way to fix it. Maybe Velcro otherwise you will destroy it

@@ShadowFoam I want all my tools to be organized this way with a toughsystem 2.0 inlcuding shadow foam. My work will be easier once I'm done with everything. Thanks again for the idea.
This is a cool idea for fragile items like stage lights or sensitive musician tech. I think it makes dewalt look sharp although I've dropped my dewalt tools from 10 feet on ladders to concrete and they still hold together and work. This looks like you can drop your whole toolbox from a 3rd story building roof and your tools are gonna be unscratched. Maybe a good idea for a video bud.
My man, you literally have the oscillating multi-tool sitting in one of the boxes during this whole demonstration. Just use that! It even has a foam cutter attachment for exactly this purpose, would make this job so much smoother. Make the tools work for you and work smarter not harder.
Do you have a way of cutting the foam in a non manual way? Like a CNC or something- seems like the next step for you guys is having an option where you have pre-cut foam options (e.g for the most common tools). And if this is feasible, maybe eventually even a “customise” option on your website where you charge extra and the customer can design their own layout. You could have templates for certain commonly used tools, and then an option to draw your own tool and set the depth etc. Is this possible/viable? Because in my opinion your biggest barrier is that it just seems like it takes ages to cut and peel it manually.
It is something we have considered, but the cost is just too great and we pride ourselves on the affordability of our foam. There are lots of CNC options out there and Shadow Foam has been specifically designed to be a cut and peel foam. Of course, customers can buy the foam from us and then send it to be converted elsewhere, but it's not part of our business model. Interesting idea though!
Johnathan, can you do a tool organization video like this but for the tough system 1.0. That would be awesome. Bummed out dewalt doesn't make tool trays inserts for the 1.0 system, definitely would be able to utilize wayy more space in the boxes. Thinking to build my own tool trays or modify the small included handled trays which are relatively useless. Or just make the move over to the 2.0 system. Great video man
But for what you're saving in protecting your tools and ensuring none get lost or stolen is far greater than the price of the foam! Thanks for commenting though mate, we appreciate the feedback 👍
Great finsh. It just makes any tool box of that style more usable. Do you have any products that can be added to prevent bacteria build up. I come from a catering background and this foam would be great to organise chef boxes but I fear they will harbour bacteria in that application.
Looks good, all this organization and foam keeps them in place. Only problem is when you stack them together you can't get to your tools. On a big job site you just unstack them , and I put them on a small rolling scaffold, HOWEVER ,, in a customers home or apartment on smaller job the drawers are better, also somebody needs to design the bottom rolling tool box to access tools without unstacking the others. Stanley has one but it's smaller and not as durable..
While the foam looks cool I just don't get the why. 4 tools in the deep bottom box in foam while I get 7 in a Tstak bottom box which is a little smaller plus blades, grinder wheels, 2 5 amp batteries and sand paper. Next deep box up I get 6 tools plus 3 small tough boxes with bits and blades. Foam seems like a lot for tools that get dropped off ladders, roofs and kicked around. Pack the boxes right and there won't be any travel damage. With foam I would need 20 boxes to haul my tools around.
Can completely get what you're saying but there are ways to pack more tools into the boxes using foam, and foam is also a great way of visually keeping track of all your tools and where they are, along with keeping them safe and protected. As Jonathan mentioned at the end, we've left a lot of space in the foam to add items along the way. Thanks for the feedback though, its much appreciated! 👍
How is packing tools in a box treating them like garbage? We're just smart enough to know that they don't need placed in foam. I figure the want to be wood workers think the foam is cool but I have never seen a real wood worker put his drill in foam at the end of the day after it has been dropped 5 plus feet at least once a day.

I’ve been looking at many different box systems and while many have awesome features, I think the ones that launch from the front like Milwaukee r just the best. I don’t like having to u do side latches. I like sliding it on and off from the front. Much less hassle and easier when ur reaching for it in the truck
I'm getting the Toughsystem 2.0, 3 pice set, the 2 drawer, and a deep & shallow tray insert. Basically, what you just did here. What and how many do I need to do it like you did here? If i were to sit the circular saw more flat, would the deep tray then fit? Obviously, i would need more foam for the botom layer. TIA
I have 90% of my tools Dewalt, but you cant compete with the Packout ... so i'll put my yellow tools (minus the red cordless nailers) in my red packout.
Why doesn't Dewalt have precut foam inserts of related tools available for their tool box systems, It seems pretty obvious that would be a big seller. Buyers would love it, so they can get to work and make money, not dilly dally around cutting out foam inserts.

I’ve been looking at many different box systems and while many have awesome features, I think the ones that launch from the front like Milwaukee r just the best. I don’t like having to u do side latches. I like sliding it on and off from the front. Much less hassle and easier when ur reaching for it in the truck
does anybody know where or if you can buy an extra black tray they give you with the xl box for the top?
I too would like to know this, anyone got any idea?
@@ShadowFoam iIeven contacted dewalt and they said that they don't sell it separate
That's a shame but thanks for letting us all know!
Do you foam for the magnusson boxs
We do indeed, it's available on our website www.shadowfoam.com
I'm getting the Toughsystem 2.0, 3 pice set, the 2 drawer, and a deep & shallow tray insert. Basically, what you just did here. What and how many do I need to do it like you did here? If i were to sit the circular saw more flat, would the deep tray then fit? Obviously, i would need more foam for the botom layer.
TIA
I don;t think that cicrcular saw is fitting in the deep tray
Available in the USA?

What do YOU know about cutting foam?
😂🤣
Great vid, mate! Come organize my shitemare, please!!
Shitemares a new one! 😂
@@ShadowFoam shitemare ™©® etc etc 😂🤣
Tuyệt vời đẹp và chất lượng dewart., ước mơ của mình là có được một bộ máy này để làm việc thì tuyệt vời.
DeWalt nổi tiếng với việc biến ước mơ thành hiện thực
I have 90% of my tools Dewalt, but you cant compete with the Packout ... so i'll put my yellow tools (minus the red cordless nailers) in my red packout.
Prefer the DeWalt tools do you?
Do you have a business here in the United States that I could purchase from? Thank you!
No, sorry but we do ship to the USA through our website - shadowfoam.com
DeWalt need to make a base unit drawer for the circular saw and planner no point if you have to detach 7 draws just to get the tool you need
I would love to see that too! 🙏
Why doesn't Dewalt have precut foam inserts of related tools available for their tool box systems, It seems pretty obvious that would be a big seller. Buyers would love it, so they can get to work and make money, not dilly dally around cutting out foam inserts.
awesome, can you send it to indonesia??
We have international delivery rates on our website, check it out! 👍
