Gaerea is one of my top bands at the moment. Also its extremely unlikely that you'll convince that blackened death metal is a death metal subgenre but not a black metal subgenre as some people claim. Blackened death metal is equally a subgenre of both and it just depends on the song or the band as to whether its more death metal or black metal. Not the genre as a whole.

Saw them supporting Wolves In The Throne Room in the UK a couple months ago, they made a new fan that night! If you haven't seen them live I can really recommend it. Really love everything I'm hearing from the new album too

these guys played Inferno 2023 and their show was clearly one of the best of the festival. Was downstairs and place was packed to the rafters.
