Oh, another of my favourite bands. I came across them in 2003. I was mesmerized by the opening track "The cry of silence" of the 2003 album "Where lovers mourn" and remain so to this day! 🖤🤘🏻 from Germany
Great song, glad to see the reaction. Much of the video was from one of Heike Langhans' other projects, ISON. These clips were from the video for the song ISEA, which is also a fantastic song. The original video for "Sorrow of Sophia" is excellent.
Draconian have been around for years, I remember getting hold of one of their early Albums back in 2003 / 2004 time, "Where Lovers Mourn" is the Album's Title, remember the opening Track being pretty awesome, brilliant Gothic Doom.
🇫🇮 👍: Although Draconian is one of the best, if not the best, Gothic Doom metal bands in the world, it all still depends on ones idiosyncratic taste in music. For me, they are a great Swedish band & this particular song from their 2020 album "Under a Godless Veil" is among their top 20. However, for me this is their best song, although quite long & depressive: Draconian - Death Come near me (Lyrics) ruclips.net/video/YO6drSeWSb4/видео.html
Yes, you pronounced my name correct. Thank you for reacting this soon... And i fully trust your diggameters. The band's lyrics overall deal with gnosticism. Apostle Paul refers to it's teachings as "not good"... But, these lyrics, this particular detail of the gnostic teachings touches on a Biblical Truth. As you may know Wisdom (Sophia) in Proverbs 8 get's Personified in Christ. In this song Sophia enters this world to remind us of the light within us, she has a redemptive role to fulfill. There is so much to say about how gnosticism is unBiblical, but this detail, this song, ........ just grabbed me with it's beauty and it's tale. Maybe another one for you to get into Draconian... Sleepwalkers. Have a good one.....
Hey 2ndhandsouls, stumbled across your RUclips channel this week and have been binging your reaction videos as well as y'all's music videos. Have enjoyed thoroughly and subbed. BTW, "The Betrayer" is my favorite tack by y'all I've heard so far. I'm a big Draconian fan and what an awesome reaction to "Sorrow of Sophia." That particular track is off Draconian's latest album, from 2020, called Under a Godless Veil, the band's 7th studio album. The clean female vocals are those of the Heike Langhan who recently stepped down to pursue other projects. They hail from Säffle, Sweden and were formed by drummer and vocalist Johan Ericson, bassist and vocalist Jesper Stolpe and guitarist Andy Hindenäs back in 1994 along with lead vocalist and lyrics composer Anders Jacobsson. The band's current lineup is Daniel Arvidsson on bass, Johan Ericson on lead guitar, Anders Jacobsson with the harsh vocals, Lisa Johansson on clean vocals, Niklas Nord on rhythm guitar, and Jerry Torstensson on drums. Highly recommend checking out "Pale Tortured Blue" and "Stellar Tombs" from their 2015 album, Sovran. "Heaven Laid in Tears (Angels' Lament)" and "Death, Come Near Me" are two other highly recommend songs Those are off Draconian's second album, Arcane Rain Fell, from 2005. One more recommendation is "Bloodflower" off 2008's Turning Season Within album. And I apologize for the long post, but I would also highly recommend checking Finnish melodic death metal band Wolfheart, which is a project by the talented multi-instrumentalist Tuomas Saukkonen. For a first listen of Wolfheart, I would recommend either "The Hunt" off the band's 2013 album Winterborn or "Aeon of Cold" off their 2015 album Shadow World. Thanks again!
@@2ndhandsoulsmusic \m/ \m/ BTW, if you do get the chance to react to Wolfheart "The Hunt," I think Animal would really enjoy Tuomas' drumming in that one as well as his kit setup.
I was as surprised as you, first time for me and I agree with your score on the digometer. Her voice reminds me a bit of Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation in this song. 🫶🤘🙏
There is some serious zen going on with this band. That North European sound and imagery. You're such a wonderful bunch. So nice to see Animal back in service! I sure hope things are ok, if not better, with everybody over there. If you like Draconian, you might also enjoy Insomnium: While We Sleep ruclips.net/video/vBZ5SLJmfdw/видео.html .
Thank you for this reaction. Always a pleasure seeing people listening to some Draconian! Would love to hear your thoughts on this heavier song from the same album: The Sacrificial Flame ruclips.net/video/EciomI3E1I4/видео.html
Had never heard of this band. For me, a little bland, but the lyrics are interesting. "And a goddess concealed in shadow, Seducing the stars and the flaming Gaia." Very thought provoking. Sophia in Greek is wisdom or cleverness, is Sophia in the song the goddess, or just a mortal imprisoned by wisdom. Needs further review. thanks for the new puzzle. Stay safe, God bless, keep rocking.
Love your reactions. I subscribed. The woman's reaction is the most sincere, she really tries to listen deep as other guys, but the hat dude is too artificial with fake smile and distracting thumbs-up during all the videos...
Draconian are one of best bands on earth, everything they do is perfect
"Sophia" is like a fallen Angel basically, she questioned too much.

Thanks for the sub! We definitely appreciate you. We plan on listening to some more of Draconian.

Thank you for explaining.
Yes indeed. Glad you could shed light on my understanding. I loved the vocals and the fiddle sounds.
Shame you didn't react to the actual music/lyric video. It's gorgeous
We didn't know. Send a link.
