Bind iA6 RX (Receiver) to i6 TX (Transmitter)

- I bought my iA6 RX here: goo.gl/bAfFWE or with iBus Port goo.gl/GQRjii TX and RX bundle: goo.gl/B68GvM WARNING to bind a RX & TX you need to supply power. If you connect it incorrectly you will fry your board. If in doubt, double check with a meter ;-) The video shows a step by step how to do it correctly.

Just fried my receiver! Wonderful!
Like most other people, my receiver sent sparks flying. I should have read the comments.
It's dangerous and not correct show the binding procedure without specifying informations about voltage
In most cases, most RXs need from 3,5V to a maximum of 7,2V; In this case (FSIA6), it require a maximum of 6,5V (it's written in top part of RX)
So you can use lot of power supply but:
FIRST:
You've to check battery voltage; if you use a 3s(or more lipo) it has to be partially discharged (check with a tester because can't exceed 6,5V)
OR use a classical power supply of 4,5V
OR use every universal power supply with V regulator
OR use a power bank with usb cable on a side and skinned cables (black and red) on other side
OR use the connector of a PDB with 5V (the voltage tipically required by a fpv cam)
AND ALSO
CHECK the polarity of the battery and FSIA6 (and every RXs), because the plus is in the middle of every 3pins row and the minus on the right
the left pin is for signal wire.
[ signal> ° ° °
Your USB suggestion worked like a charm. Thank you. I was pretty terrified of frying this RX. Much appreciated mate, even 3 years later.
This video needs to come down. It is way too easy to fry your receiver. Just glancing through the comments I can see that this is doing more harm than good.
You should use a battery pack that is around 5v to 6v . I bind my RX's by using either a motor controller supply or I have a 6v Nicd battery pack I use often for testing things like LEDs and RX's when they arrive by post.
Sorry you fried yours, it works as I clearly show, and you have to power it up to do the process, so if you connect it wrong it will always fry it, just like if you connected you quad battery the wrong way you kiss goodbye to your PDB. This has helped loads of people and I'm sure it will continue too. Hope you find a way that works for you. Thanks for sharing your views.
@@TiggersRCReviewsTTFN You're an idiot!!
@@ranger175a2w Yes!! I just fried mine.
@@TiggersRCReviewsTTFN I fried mine too. Please add a warning to the start of the vid and reupload. For the love of receivers worldwide!
Thanks for the informative video. I broke one of my antennas now im confused whether to replace the whole receiver or buy a spare antenna and solder. Please advise. Is this be default sbus or ppm? Flysky ia6
I fried my receiver and burt the cable so I also have a dead battery :(
What is the output voltage of the receiver? I am ordering servo motors and I don’t want to fry one. Thanks
Fantastic the wright way to do it, had so many other people show me the wrong way yours worked thank you.
I tried using a 1s lipo 3.7 volt and it burned the receiver right away!
i recently bought fly sky FS-i6. but the problem that i am facing is the it is not getting bound by the receiver which is FS-iA6.
i tried all types of binding. still it is not binding.
can you help me with this
the method in the video worked for me pretty well with that receiver
Wich battery did you use. Somehow I cannot find any battery packs in the range of 4V - 6.5V...
Hi , Thanks for the video. Is this receiver compatible with Taranis transmitter ?
Hello ! Great vid. I conect oposite voltage baterry to my fs ia6 receiver AND saw smoke... any ideas for the repair
what is the color of the battery cable to the receiver, does the receiver not burn, please let me know
Can that first bank of terminals.. The one that is B/VCC.. Can that be used as an accessory port to turn lights on and off? Or is it just specifically used for binding purposes?
hi there what do u do if u not got the bind plug as I brought my drone as a rtf model but it's not binding any more I got the eachine assassin 180 v2 can u help me please will a spektrum binding plug work its got the same adaptor
can you tell me what battery are you using for the reciever .? i
What does the RX with the battery icon on the controller mean? Because my controller is doing the same thing.
i fried my receiver
AKAASH MITTAL same
me too now i have to want 3 months for a replacement.
fuck you, and fuck the postal serves
Yes Bro me too
Be careful plugging in your balancer cable, I did this wrong and fried the Rx and screwed up my balancer connector. Cost me $15 and a week of waiting, and that's if I'm able to fix the 3s lipo.
Use the ESC as power supply to be safe (Plug the battery into the ESC, then plug the ESC in the channel 3 or throttle channel).
Yup.
Do we. Have to bind all channels?
fs-IA6 receiver, can it bind like that?
Can you recommend me a battery for receiver?
I just fried my receiver because your lipo batter has different cables than mine does, i have 3 red 1 black you have 3 black 1 red, now I'm not sure how to provide power now can anyone help? of course after i order a new reciever
Toby Ball Nope, your lipo had a lot voltage
that happened to me as well :(
Same
I have also burst my receiver, apart it has gotten a spark, and I almost electrocuted myself. I do not know if I could help you but another receiver is the FS-IA6 which is the same but do not do it if it does not happen to you what happened xd
Use the ESC as power supply
THANK YOU WAS THE BEST EXPLANATION THAT I SAW IN RUclips BRIGADÃO .
Pleasure and glad it helped, thanks for the comment :-)
I'm worried that if I plug my battery in it will fry the receiver. Is it safe? Also are you using the eachine 250 racer battery?
Yep it will fry in a nano second if you get it wrong for sure, follow it carefully it will be OK, I don't know another way of doing this. Only you can decide whether you go for it or not. Yes I used 250 Racer battery. Good luck
Thanks, i think I'm gonna just go for it and hope for the best, btw great vid!
Can confirm, just fried my new rx. This is definitely not a good idea.
because you did it wrong, gave it too much juice. it works fine
Good video. I did exactly as you demonstrated. My receiver has a slow blink so I think it has binded. However, when you look at the right corner of LCD screen of i6 transmitter.... it only shows TX and battery status. It does not show the RX with battery status. What is wrong?
There is no telemetry so that is normal ;-)
Tigger's RC Reviews It DOES have telemetry also the ia6 version (not only the iA6b). I think the issue is about not compatibility between radio and RX firmware. I have the same problem of not seeing Error data rate and voltage ONLY when I use Flysky radio and Turnigy Tx (TGY-iA6).
Ive got the turnigy 6 channel receiver. It says we need a 6V battery but my battery has 8.4 V. Am i still able to use it to bind?
I thought the Turnigy is the same just re-badged as this one, but I may be wrong. So it should be fine, but it's your RX, this method works but some have connected it incorrectly and fried the board. If you connect any battery round the wrong way you will fry it ;-) Good luck with whatever you choose
but for every model i create on the TX i have to bind it another time? i have tryed today the first one is binded and the other one no.. of course sorry for my 'english'
Are you confining that it is saved? I come out of it then check it before exit. mine remembers all the different quads, hope you get it sorted
GREAT. just fried my receiver. I put the negative on the positive. time to wait 1 week to get payed then 1 week of shipping. YAY ANOTHER 2 WEEKS UNTIL I CAN FLY MY QUADCOPTER.
Should have read the comments first. Reciever fried... 😑
I have lost my bind plug
What should i do now
Thanks bro saved my life
Does the the transmitter show the voltage of the lipo in the aircraft and warns you if it's too low?
Not with this setup, I use these goo.gl/RRcCNS and did a video on them here ruclips.net/video/vCiKpWnrpq8/видео.html
I don't know, the battery lcd's look the same to me, think I will stick to the alarm, good luck
Muito obrigado pelo video, claro e objetivo. Um forte abraço de André Guimarães, de São José dos Campos - São Paulo - Brazil
I dont get the rx battery symbol up on my screen but the rx light still lights constant. Is it bound fully or not. I have the Flysky badged i6 if that makes a difference at all. Thanks.
+thra5herxb12s It should be bound, IMHO, I have never had a partial bind so it is either bound or not. Not familiar with Flysky but assume they are the same TX just rebadged. Hope it works
They look identical except the badge and the screen logo. It all seems to connect and arms / disarms ok, and all the models functions seem ok. I thought maybe there was something in the receiver setup that I have missed.
+thra5herxb12s It all sounds good to me just get out and enjoy your flying is the order of the day ;-)
Sounds good to me. I have a small digital egg timer to keep an eye on the battery time. Thanks.
+thra5herxb12s Enjoy, I find these good goo.gl/RRcCNS and did a video on it here ruclips.net/video/vCiKpWnrpq8/видео.html have fun :-)
Helpful video, but how exactly would i do it without the binding plug?
As I state just put a wire across top outside pins(not the middle one) that's all the bind plug does ;-) Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks For the video, I just fried a receiver because I didn't watch this video and plugged the JST port in, :0 it caught fire btw hope the battery is ok. I ordered another receiver that comes tomorrow, but i need a little help and fast, I noticed you plugged in the red wire to the S, is the red wire ground because I couldn't tell because all the other wires are black on yours, but on mine i think i have black blue yellow and red. so please which goes into the S and which goes to the + and the -
Glad it helped, I'm no where near my stuff but as you say at 1:03 on video I clearly show red wire going into left hand pin, different manufacturers use different colour wires but red is always red and pretty sure LIVE ;-) Hope that clears it up for you, and no more frying receivers, but TBH why do you think I made this video, yep we all do it LOL
Thanks, btw love your channel watch it every day
Thank you hope it all works, more on the way, thanks for the support :-)
Working! Got it all up and flying, flew it for a week, lost 2 motor screws, put too long of screws in the motors and messed up the motor
hey well done you and not so well done you too LOL Glad it all worked though, thanks for letting me know Cheers
what battery is that?
is there any way to bind this receiver to a taranis x9d
frankieg bangems Nope
Mine does not bind. What can be the problem ? It keeps saying : " binding rx ... " Forever
me: plugs thing in
thing in plane: *begins smoking*
TOTAL ROOKIE .CAN I USE 3 AXIS OR 6 AXIS RECEIVERS AUTOPILOT?ON MY PLANES WITH RECEIVERS. ROOKIE.
What lipo battery can this use? is 3000 or 4000 compatible? I blew up my receiver when i connected directly as per your instructions on the balance charge connection
You can use any battery as you are only using one cell when you use the balance cable :~)
Thanks, can you possibly tell me which receiver is compatible with the FSiA6 transmitter when using 2 or 3 cell lipos?
i also blew up my receiver by connecting it directly to battery so buy a new receiver andconnect using an esc
Great video! Can you tell me how to know how many cells is a balance cable using? I have a Nano-tech 950 mAh 25-50C battery but just can't find that specification anywhere.
Is it possible to just use a piece of wire to create a short
Yep that's all it is
It is completely safe to connect the battery like that? Always the red wire in the signal position?
yeah you saw it live here so no reason why it shouldn't work, cheers
Thanks, tried your method and worked great. No problem using balance lead as you show.
Thanks for confirming Chris, appreciate it and glad it helped :-)
Humm. Will the FlySky TX bind with the CX20? Nice review.
+Skydive Driver Not tried it, will have to give it a go, glad you enjoyed it, all a new learning experience for me...I do simple not technical ;-)
Got it. If that TX binds up with the CX-20 please let me know.
+Skydive Driver As far as I can see it's a no go, tried playing around but nothing :-( if I get it sorted will let you know but pretty sure it wont do it. hey ho I tried and CX-20 and Eachine still work...phew LOL
Thanks my friend
I managed to do it, thanks to your vid, but channel matching has been impossible so far :(
When I did this, my receiver caught fire 🎉🎉🎉
thankyou it helps me lots....
Glad it did, thanks for the comment :-)
How can I connect Esc. Servo
Thank you so much ! Your help has helped fule my passion for drones ! You gave me the idea of taking the reciever out of the socket. That's why i couldn't see any pins. Thanks again . Happy flying !!!!!!
Pleasure Paul, we do love this hobby and very happy flying to you
Didn't work in my fs-ia6 receiver
I have an issue, the binding is just okay but it didnt show the voltage rx on the transmitter.
+ch ha This is the second comment on this, I guess if it's bound it's bound so I would then fly, but it has to be your choice. I have tried to replicate the problem but mine always shows the battery. Hope you get it sorted and let me know if you do. Cheers
I have the same problem. I have tried and tried. But it just will not work. Red light goes to a slow pulse. But that's it.
sorted it out. you have to remove the bind plug first and leave the power on the receiver. Not take the power off first.
Well done, glad you got it sorted ;-)
Thanks mate that sorted it for me too : )
Thank you. I blew up my reciever.
Does miss Tigger all ways make so much noise when doing the washing up? :)
+handy andy I shall pass that on.........I guess you wont be supplying your address so she can thank you personally for pointing it out LOL I did say "stop that love....yes leave it..........you can do it when i have finished videoing" I shall refrain from writing her response, i had to look a couple of the references she made on Google and had to tick the box "over 18 and not of nervous disposition" ROFL Hang on a minute how do you know it wasn't me multi tasking?......oh forgot you know me :-) Hope you enjoyed the vid minus the noise cheers pal :-)
I have an Eachine Racer 250, crashed, receiver says it bound but when I turn it on it beeps with no bars RX, not sure what to do, reset Ei6 to factory settings?, it was a RTF version, appreciate any help!
And after the success bind process (as showed in this video), low blinking lights in the receiver... but no RX showing in menu in my Transmitter... What I am missing ?
Thanks !
It doesn't have telemetry so you wont get RX info ;-)
I have the same problem! Radio is Flysky and RX is Turnigy! They are not totally compatible as I don't get Error rate and Voltage data! This video is not saying this issue.
Maybe, after binding try removing bind plug and then power off as opposed to power off then bind plug should sort it
Tigger's RC Reviews Incredible... I tried so many times with that sequence and it was not binding with "OK" statement.... it finally worked! I can confirm now that Flysky radio is totally compatible with Turnigy receiver (both voltage and error rate are sent to radio). Thank you for your help.
make shure that youre transmitter is in afhds 2a mode :D
can we use 22.2 volt 3000mah 45c battery with this receiver?
Haider Zulfiqar Hell no
As you also connected the receiver directly
So how much is your battery volts and mah?
Haider Zulfiqar Use the 5v port on your PDB or just give your FC 5v and the FC will power the RX up
Haider Zulfiqar Never connect it to a battery directly! He had his battery prepared
what is its price?
links in description ;-)
You caused me to burn my recever
Thanks mate fried my receiver fucking seriously
Won't the cells become unbalanced
+RitztheDJ Nope tiny bit of power draw :-)
This helped. Thank you! Using a BEC ESC to power the RX so it is no more than 5V. It's not dangerous if you know what you're doing :D
Nobody stick a 2 cell and up battery in the rx
I have the same batters and it fried my reciver
very useful with newbee. thank for your clip
Pleasure, glad it helped
man, it started smoking?!???!!!
I just fried my board... yay
👌🏻
This might also help i6 users. Can't imagine how many times I've answered this.
s26.postimg.org/l9gnlju3d/FS_i6_save.jpg
+TheGusK Thanks for sharing that :-)
Why on earth would anyone do this? Plug the battery into the ESC and then plug the ESC into channel 3. Simple and you can use just about any battery like that as long as your ESC regulates the voltage.
Fried!!!!!
People need to flag this video. Essentially this procedure can be dangerous. Comments indicate damage has been done. Clear modification or explanation of this procedure is needed. It's irresponsible and everyone needs to flag this video. Poster I realize it helps some people. They are getting lucky and your ok with that. I wonder if someone added up all the "I burned up my receiver" posts what the dollar amount would be? Take it down or add warning in the video.
fried my receiver
I fried mine and started fire on bed
The receiver cannot handle 3S or 4S battery (Max 6.5 V) !!! Do not try it !!!
I don't use the full battery, if you follow the video, you can use any size battery over 2s to do it ;-)
how to roast your receiver tutorial
Funny done it loads of times, never an issue
@@TiggersRCReviewsTTFN had the same battery as you and still fried it
The battary burn in my home... Dont do it
Like everyone else, i fried my reciever. The way you so calmly just insert the thing and don't EVEN EXPLAIN that your reciever will instantly die if you put it in the wrong way is frustrating. There are safer options, and yet you explain the lost destructive one without even warning us.
MY receiver got burned with this man idea😡😡😡😡😭😭😭😤😤😤😡😡😡😡😡
I used the balanced port from my 11.1v lipo on the receiver and I have fried it . I have to wait two weeks for another receiver from banggood. not happy at all. this video should be taken off.
ust fried my board
