He's my favorite too! For me, he's on the same level as Beethoven's late quartets. Absolutely wonderful!

Thank you! The American is a great string quartet, but it's really frustrating to see that it's basically the only Dvořák's Quartet performed and known...

Maybe it's because the other quartets are good but not excellent.

@@ClassicalMusicAndSoundtracksI would argue that some of Dvořák’s other quartets are just as great!

Dude this is an excellent display of the hyper emphasis on individuality during the romantic period. This piece is arguably just as good as America.

Thank you very much for posting with the score. This is a flat-out masterpiece, and not nearly as well known as it should be.

A big thank you to Scene00. I’m making my way through the Dvorak string quartets, what a pleasure. Number 13 is a revelation, especially the glorious second movement.

Hi everybody, I just noticed I made a mistake at about 32:57 and transitioned frames too early. Apologies for the error!

Thank you! Man, it is so wonderful, and the prospect of playing it is *so utterly terrifying*! (Its forebear-Schubert's G Major-practically killed me! 😢)

Dvorak is undoubtedly the Greatest student and expositor of Beethoven in the quartet genre
