    I have a question, on the tee box markers, where the marker has a shaft in the ground, in the center of the design is the box the middle of the shaft or the front of the round design? where does the tee box end? understand?

    Sound was abit off.
    Senioro 9....playing alternative shot match play and your ball comes to rest near an animal hole....not sure you play a second ball but when you finish the hole out the total from the 1st ball to the 2nd is a different number.....how do you play from the next hole?

    I actually hit a power cable last week!
    I wasn’t sure how to proceed though so I’d be interested to know your answer...
    The power cable was running parallel to the length of a par 3 on the right about 10m off the fairway. I hit a rank slice and it slingshotted back to about 6 feet. The model local rule was in place; but due to the word “obstruct” I wasn’t sure if it refers only to power lines that run across the hole (I.e would be a disadvantage 99/100 times). It was only a social round with my dad so it only seemed fair that I hit another one so I didn’t beat him on the hole and put that one to 3 feet.
    The end result didn’t matter as dad shot a 6 after putting his tee shot in the lake but I’d be interested to know what the right way to proceed would be.

    Quick question if I'm looking for my ball in the rough a swinging my club through the long grass looking for it (as was shown in the video when they were talking about provisionals) if I were then to accidentally hit my ball what happens then? Would it count as a shot, must I try replace it to the point where I think it originally was or do I play it from its new resting spot?
    Edit: Time stamp for what I'm talking about is around the 11:10 mark

    8:12-8:30 Hey, your ball that was chipped onto the green is still moving and is obstructing my ball's journey into the hole. I'm invoking Rule 15 & I'm going to remove your ball even if it's still in motion because it is a movable obstruction that I am allowed to remove under Rule 15 hahahaha

    You should probably clarify on the provisional ball rule that if you hit your provisional ball from a point that is closer to the hole than where the original ball has finished, the provisional does become the ball in play. The video says 'up to the area' which is vague.

    For the first 2 rules regarding match play, if your opponent either hits out of turn or hits outside of the tee box, are you supposed to say something to them if you notice it before they take the shot? Or are you supposed to keep your mouth shut and potentially call them out on it if they happen to make a good shot? I know it is a competition and all, but it would seem like a huge dick move to notice a mistake and purposely not warn them before hand.

    In junior matchplay, I crushed a drive down the middle on a short par 4 and my twat of an opponent made me retake it for being 1/4 inch in front of the tee marker line! In frustration I promptly snap hooked the retake and lost the whole, obviously... I had the last laugh down 18 by holing a 4ft putt for the half which took us to the county finals! :D

    Clarification of rules question. If in the process of searching for a lost ball you step on it pushing it into the ground making the ball essentially unplayable. Does this qualify for any type of relief or is the standard play it as it lies rule apply?

    Thanks for the info....
    I have a question
    In the scenario where your ball is on the green and it hits either an animal a person or a movable object
    What if I putt my ball and it hits a twig (perhaps it fell from the tree above the green while I was looking down at my ball) that is a movable object that has now clearly interfered with my putt (sent it off 90 degrees from the line), do I get to remove the twig and restroke the shot from the original location? Or is it too bad, stroke counts, play it from where it finishes good luck :)

    I once had a drive that struck a power cable on top of the cable and cause the ball to go an extra 150 or so yards I was a long driver and could Outdrive most of my teammates and by getting that extra boost I made it to the green and one shot on a par 5. This was in the early 80s and I do not remember there being a rule about the power lines at that time.

    Very cool video. Related to the rule about a ball destroyed when struck, I had a situation come up recently that I would love your input on:
    On one of the holes on my home course, there is a blind tee shot over a small hill. I hit a fairly long, hooking shot whose trajectory should have taken it into the rough on the left hand side. Unbeknownst to me, the rough was being mowed at the time and, because I could not see the landing area and the course maintenance person could not see me tee off, the maintenance person had continued mowing. We searched the newly mown area where the ball should have landed and found parts of a ball that had been destroyed, including a section of the cover that contained the unique markings that I put on my ball (and could not have come from anyone else's ball). What should one do according to the rules in this situation?

    Thanks for the content! So, I was out on my last round, I hit my tee shot a bit right and was unsure where it landed. I played a provisional, and finished the hole with it since I did not find the original ball in the vicinity of where I hit it. On the walk to the next tee, I actually found the original ball, it had traveled much further than I thought. I just picked it up and went on to play the next hole. Could I have actually played that ball and finished the hole with the original ball, canceling the provisional even though I had already finished the hole with it?

    • @pdub7562
      @pdub7562 4 года назад +1

      If you hit your provisional ball at any point that was closer to the hole than where you found your original then the provisional ball becomes the ball in play so your original ball would be 'dead', eg you holed a tap in putt with the provisional. If you holed your provisional from a point that was further from the hole than where you subsequently found your original then your original would still be in play until you picked the provisional out of the hole, I think. So in either case you couldn't have played the original ball.

    This is what happened
    The 10th hole at Empire Ranch GC in Folsom, CA is built on the side of a hill to the right of the Tee box that requires most players to hit a blind second shot to the green. I hit a good drive as did another member of our foursome. We both hit our blind second shot. When we arrived at the green another of our foursome told us that my ball had gone into the thick brush to the left of the green and my partners ball had gone in the hole for an eagle. I took a drop and took three strokes to get in the hole. On the next Tee box my partner looked at the ball he had eagled and it turned out to be mine which meant he had hit his second shot out of bounds and I had eagled. In that circumstance should my score be adjusted to reflect the eagle or stick with the double-bogey?
    Eric

    • @rmennaman
      @rmennaman 4 года назад

      Not sure but I think beause you didn't check your ball before hitting out of the rough, you are penalized 1 stroke for moving another players ball - score your eagle then add what ever penalties were incurred. bottom line don't trust anyone, always check your ball.

    • @jasondoe348
      @jasondoe348 4 года назад

      When it comes to hitting other players and caddies, there are rules governing play on the course. But more importantly, there is Rule PF.F2D-ITC, which states that after the conclusion of the round, you are responsible for paying for the first 2 drinks in the clubhouse for the person you hit.
