I've never teed high. I use 1 1/8" tees and sweep the ground same as 3 wood. I may lose carry, but gain roll. Plus I can hit it off the deck when needed. Never tried swinging up. I actually bring my own cut down rubber tee to the driving range so I don't get sky marks on my driver. It may be wrong, but it's my swing, & I'll take 250 yard laser straight bullets under the wind all day.

I use a 3 wood off the tee and tee it low and I consistently hit down the middle and pretty long whereas if I use a driver it may go a little farther but not consistently in play. Try it! Thanks for your tips , (P S I’m a senior but it works for me.)

There are definitely valid reasons to Tee it high and to Tee it low, and you demonstrated it to perfection! When I'm really trying to get after one I will tee it high and let it fly, if I really want to focus on hitting the fairway I tee it low!

  • @ewaz6196

I like to tee it high, but this is where a really good driver fitting comes into play. If you hit from the inside and hit way up on the ball, whether you're a high or low handicap player - chances are you need a driver head with more spin. If you hit down on the ball more from whatever angle, you likely need a lower spinning head. Once you get the right head for your playing style, you can have options for a high shot AND a low shot. Sometimes, once you get used to teeing it low, it can actually feel EVEN BETTER than hitting a high bomb. I am shocked to see because of the shallower landing angle that a lot of my low drives still get close to or past 300 yards just because it penetrates the wind so well. Using these principles, you can do high vs. low shots with every club in your bag down to your wedges.

with the help of my coach we worked out the tee height for my game . been able to maintain a single figure handicap into my 60's
tee high I get a draw, but my stock shot is low with a cut fade to get in in the fairway at 210m.
I use the blue and white plastic stepped tees, to ensure tee same height every time. for low tees I put a sharpie mark on a white wooden tee before round about 1/2 inch . works every time and dont change my swing one bit to achieve results.
I actually use draw on dog leg left hole and fade on dog leg right holes
really enjoy your videos, especially the take of 5 series which I am now revisiting again.

But I'm gonna experiment tomorrow morning at the range.

Dropped ball down to midline at crown, which visually looks low due to how high I had been teeing in. Tried the midline at mid club face for low. Going to take some practice to gain confidence. Maybe I need to move it back a hair in my stance as contact is so low on the face? Thank you for defining high and low.

I am low tee playing almost always. My swing is the same for irons and woods/driver, even have same length shafts on my irons. This reduces the variables, however, I do have a very flat swing. It is too easy for me to get under the ball on a tee and produce an awful "sky ball" that goes higher than it goes down range. The advantage of the modern drivers with adjustments is that on a still day I can simply dial in more loft to get height. Usually though I will except a bit shorter tee shot because I am almost always in the fairway. Around here the fairways tend to be tree lined, and 100% of the trees I hit do not help my scoring.

I basically change my comment to make this very simple and easy for you to understand.
this whole video is you explaining why you choose to tee high or low
do you honestly think that you are the only one who makes that decision

I tee it up to where you said it's too high, and I've been able to hit it over 300 yards for the first time in my life

I tee it high with the wind behind me and tee it low going into the wind. Seems to work ok for me.

Is the setup the same for a fairway finder?
