There’s a really creepy short story about a survivor from a dark eldar raid who was kept for a decade. While the story goes into incredibly horrible detail about the physical torment I think the mental torment was the worst part. Basically the woman “escaped” multiple times, sometimes for weeks at a time, only to learn each time her each and every move was completely planned to the dark eldar’s design. It’s a really frightening read honestly.

Interesting idea, but it's not likely to happen. The Dark Eldar don't capture chaos tainted individuals for this very reason. In one novel, plague Marines and demons do indeed breach the city and are met with overwhelming resistance. And of course those involved used the occasion to kill off some rivals to take all the credit. ;)
Prime n Go Thats why I was thinking alpha legion infiltrators, but some cultists/slaves are hard to distinguish if you look at one of the night lord books they used one of their slaves to infiltrate an imperial out post undercover and wasn't recognised. In the path of the renegade book it is mentioned how Asdrubael actually teleport a chaos tainted ship with daemons into a satellite realm or commorragh and then sealled it off.
True, (and a reason why I love Vect), they have ways of "sniffing out" taint, as for summons, I'm pretty sure the city is covered in protective wards. They would have to breah a portal or something to get them in.
Big Brain move: Just become a Slaanesh-cultist, enjoy their torture, summon demons of Slaanesh inside Commoragh and then torture those filthy Xenos with your big-titty-Daemonette-GF instead and feed their souls to Slannesh. You can get gifted cool mutations, with which to take revenge on your captors or perhaps even become a Daemon prince.
The Dark Eldar would lobotomize you whilst keeping you aware and conscious. Then place your body in the middle of a pleasure temple just so you could witness a show of excess and debauchery, and be unable to partake or feel a second of it, just out of spite.
Make sure you join Slaneesh then. Joining to serve Lord Khorne will probably end in you having your junk cut off in battle. Tzeentch will have you contemplating the mysteries of the warp for so long you'll forgot you have genitals and Papa Nurgle will let you keep your gentles but they'll have warts, puss weeping sores, giant pubic lice and something resembling prostate cancer with a side of HIV AIDS.
It's going to be that much sweeter when the Regiments finally conquer the web way, reach the Dark City and eradicate it beneath a hail of endless Basilisk shells, purging plasma and armoured treads. Some day.

my only issue with this is that the mutilation was very predicable - nothing worse than the Inquisition could do. A far better tact would have been alterations and augmentation the Dark Eldar carry out, turning the victim into a monster I liked the element of psychology interplay though, that doesn't get brought up enough.

Sometimes let let people go, no one escapes the dark city. They let them leave to tell the horrors of the Dark Eldar. In one of the earliest Dark Eldar Codex there was a dude they let go, he couldn't kill himself, but he was in so much constant pain the book described it as " each breathe begun a new plain of pain" in the end the guy died, and he told the people that his life was extended till this day to pass on a message. They are coming.

To be captured by a dark eldar depends on what species you are. Humans: Mostly slaves, play things, and various ways to make you die to feed on your pain, pleasure, and death. Orks: Pretty much only good for fighting. Eldar kin: Good to practice fighting against and sacrifice to Slaanesh. Space Marine: Torture as long as possible due to how long their life is. Chaos or agent of chaos: Eliminate or use them as prize possessions or methods of warfare. Maybe spies. Overall: The dark eldar will think of every possible way to make you want to die yet keep you alive to feel every sensation they give you be it through pain, pleasure, mental illness, even the smallest cut.
Yup i once got captured by them during my time as an imperial guard I became friends with a dark eldar named frank and he was a great guy until I porked his sister and man those eldar chicks can push and pull like a magnet but any ways he tried to kill me and I melted his head then I hi jacked a ship and got the hell out of there and but on the bright side I got a bunch of eldar stuff

'nids have no individual souls and tau have no warp presence so I imagine they wouldn't interest the dark eldar at all, although some of the tau's client species might be different. Other eldar would presumably be extremely sought after as captives due to their sensory sensitivity and the power of their connection to the warp.
If I remember correctly the dark elder see the dark elder as fair game. They might have some kind of link with the craft world elder but it doesn't make them friends.
The background could have changed since last time I checked but I think any being including another dark elder who in some way left themselves venerable would be seen as pray. I don't know of any stories of dark elder targeting craft world elder bit i wouldn't pu it past them.

With chaos you will probably die in some awful ritual and have your soul devoured by the local demon. While yes you can. Experience some awful things, it's more short and sweet rather than torment you for months, kill you, bring you back, turn you into a toilet to swallow "waste" for all eternity. Remember it was the DE that made the God of pleasure ;)
Only the Emperor Children do something close to DE - however the EC lack the sophisticated technology of the DE that is required to produced that degree of pain and terror

So, basically: If you are captured alive by the dark Eldar and not killed, you are faced with the choices of slavery, suffering, and inhuman ways of dying be it from cuts, torture, rape, battle, etc (The list goes on). Yeah, sounds like a complete fucked up way to go.

To be captured by a dark eldar depends on what species you are.
Humans: Mostly slaves, play things, and various ways to make you die to feed on your pain, pleasure, and death.
Orks: Pretty much only good for fighting.
Eldar kin: Good to practice fighting against and sacrifice to Slaanesh.
Space Marine: Torture as long as possible due to how long their life is.
Chaos or agent of chaos: Eliminate or use them as prize possessions or methods of warfare. Maybe spies.
Overall: The dark eldar will think of every possible way to make you want to die yet keep you alive to feel every sensation they give you be it through pain, pleasure, mental illness, even the smallest cut.

Yup i once got captured by them during my time as an imperial guard I became friends with a dark eldar named frank and he was a great guy until I porked his sister and man those eldar chicks can push and pull like a magnet but any ways he tried to kill me and I melted his head then I hi jacked a ship and got the hell out of there and but on the bright side I got a bunch of eldar stuff

would love to hear how this applies to other races like the crafworld Eldar, Tyranids, or the Tau
'nids have no individual souls and tau have no warp presence so I imagine they wouldn't interest the dark eldar at all, although some of the tau's client species might be different. Other eldar would presumably be extremely sought after as captives due to their sensory sensitivity and the power of their connection to the warp.
If I remember correctly the dark elder see the dark elder as fair game. They might have some kind of link with the craft world elder but it doesn't make them friends.
The background could have changed since last time I checked but I think any being including another dark elder who in some way left themselves venerable would be seen as pray. I don't know of any stories of dark elder targeting craft world elder bit i wouldn't pu it past them.
Dark Eldars must be so creative if they can torture anything other than the guardsmen, tau, and eldar. Lock that Noise Marine in a quiet room and play relaxing music!

so what's the principal difference between them and Chaos? I can imagine Chaos worshipers doing all those things and worse, except without the need for it.
With chaos you will probably die in some awful ritual and have your soul devoured by the local demon. While yes you can. Experience some awful things, it's more short and sweet rather than torment you for months, kill you, bring you back, turn you into a toilet to swallow "waste" for all eternity. Remember it was the DE that made the God of pleasure ;)
Only the Emperor Children do something close to DE - however the EC lack the sophisticated technology of the DE that is required to produced that degree of pain and terror
they can get so much more "physical" (Tower of Flesh for instance)

Modernity seems to mimic the Fall of the Eldar: the sane Exodites and Craftworlders and vile Dark Eldar. I would rather be the poorest Exodite with a fulfilling life than a snob within the Dark Eldar, enslaved to Slaanesh.

So, basically: If you are captured alive by the dark Eldar and not killed, you are faced with the choices of slavery, suffering, and inhuman ways of dying be it from cuts, torture, rape, battle, etc (The list goes on). Yeah, sounds like a complete fucked up way to go.
This reminds me, a while ago iirc on Warseer there was a poll on whom it is worst to be captured by. Dark Eldar beat chaos daemons and slaaneshi space marines.
Similar to the Fantasy equivelant, while Chaos is evil Dark Elves/Eldar are *EVIL*.
