A pregnant drukhari would be easy prey for her enemies. Plus, Drukhari don't really love each other, even for sex. They are more into rape, and I can only guess that if a drukhari rapes another, it must end in murder for one of the two.

I like how the lore pros makes these guys out to be the absolute edgiest Mary Sues of all time but the Cons basically say “Yah despite all that, they are basically irrelevant to the entire universe, they’re like just a special flavor of Chaos once in a while”
They're irrelevant because they have a hidden impenetrable fortress and they just wanna hang out there and party hard while giving no shits about conquering or saving the universe.
In Age of Sigmar the dark elves are chaotic good guys. They're still sadistic assholes but they stay as part of ordertide factions because they despise Slaanesh and the forces of chaos.
That kinda makes sense because their predecessors in Warhammer Fantasy were also more or less opposed to Chaos...er, with a lot of notable exceptions. Although no one in their right mind considered *them* part of the ordertide.
not quite, the daughters of khaine were only allied with sigmar because morathi saw use in him, shes now ended that alliance and has become one with khaine, they arent quite DE in their ability to cause pain but they do love random murders and sacrifices. From morathi's point of view everything that the faction does and is. as well as all the other factions are just stepping stones on her road to getting everyone, EVERYONE to worship her. also she used to be a slaaanesh worshipper and prabbay sees slaanesh more as a rival now than a legitimate threat (especially as slaanesh has been put away)
For reasons I don't want to think about, because I can't afford the therapy bills, that is not comforting. I would choose death over being "rebuilt" by the Dark Eldar. I would rather be eaten alive by Tyranids.
I’ve kinda abused the liberties of flavor and made my army a chaotic neutral band of mercenaries that broke away from Commorragh and only torture Orks and Tyranids. Someone once asked me why even play Dark Eldar at that point and I just said I just think they look neat.
There would be zero point in torturing Tyranids. They wouldn't give any sustenance to Slaanesh it would be a waste of time to try and get screams from a fledgling in a hive mind.
Don't know unless you try. Maybe they could try to find some wat to torture or at least annoy the hivemind. Maybe doing some horrible genetics experiments to try and make a cancer tyranid variation is viable.

@@nicholasthompson6152Honestly, the Drukharii are so insane, that I can imagine one of them purposely letting an Ork Waagh in. Either to dick over a rival or just to liven things up for a bit.
Actually I’d imagine the fight would go like this. A dark elder force attacks an orc war boss with the webway portals all across the planet. Millions of orcs suddenly see a spiky elf attack and run away. The orcs chase after them through the portals. Directly into the machine guns that fire paralysis darts. Millions of orcs get captured. But what about a real waaagh? Basically someone betrays Vect and attacks an orc fleet lead by Ghazgull. Millions upon billions of orcs poor into the city. Now go read up on the demon invasion and imagine that but replace demons with orcs. That’s an orc invasion of Vect’s realm.
An abridged summary of the Drukhari… Lelith: “Hey, it’s your favorite Egirl, Lelith Hesperax.” *proceeds to kills people with her hair blades* Rakarth: *doing experiments so horrible that the other Dark Eldar find them traumatizing* Drahza: *killing everything with his massive sword* “Mediocre.” Mandrakes leader: *pops out of the shadows* “Hey kids, wanna see a dead body?” Lord Vect: *watching all this play out* “Hi, I’m Asdrubael Vect, and welcome to Jackass!”
For anyone interested in getting some more depth on Dark Eldar lore I highly suggest the Path of the Dark Eldar omnibus or just Path of the Outcast (first book in the series I think) to dip your toes in. It's got some great examples of daily life on multiple social levels in Commoragh, the political conflicts in the city, how inter-kabal fighting works, how Vect's government works, how Commoragh works as a location/sub-dimension shit, and excellent depictions of weapons and vehicles to get a basic idea of how you might want to paint energy effects. I'm pretty sure it's pre-Ynnari becoming a bigger deal and pre- Big Dysjunction so it's kind of dated but it's a pretty good read.
Only books i read about 40k and i loved it since Drukhari are my favs...it really gives an idea of how powerful and frightening Vect is...loved how the Solitaire was looking for a way to get as far away from him every chance he got XD
The fact that they can't use warp stuff due to slaanesh makes me imagine they're just sending some random smuck on a suicide mission just to make someone's day worse
I'm inspired to find the time to write the following: the Space Wolves get the idea in their bacon-addled brains to gather the entire chapter and assault Commorragh. They Primaris up as many of their number as possible; perhaps this isn't allowed by Cawl so they have to steal the means and puzzle it out on their own. Then, of course, they get slaughtered. Vect laughs his ass off as it happens and the few survivors are put into gladiatorial combat forever. This hands the Space Marines a massive loss, makes the Drukhari look like a legitimate power, and bonus points if in the epilogue Leman Russ returns and demands to know what happened to his children. Guilliman tries to explain the Space Wolves were dumbasses and Russ slaps the shit out of his brother. In addition to not playing Space Marine favorites, you have some of the family drama Space Marine fans really love. Everybody wins. Except the Space Wolves.
one problem the Inquisition has to my knowledge purged fenris and declared the space wolves renegades partly because of magnus but mostly because they are sill mad about the months of shame with the wulfen being he excuse for the purge
An easier solution would be to toss the Carchodons at them...those psychos managed to, somehow, psychologically torture and break at least one Dark Elf in short order
I normally do Chaos Space Marines of the Iron Warriors Legion, but I started a Drukhari army last year and I’m loving them. Rules and lore, seeing my evil little goth elves rip through my mate’s Black Templars was brilliant.
One of my favourite interactions with Drukari in 40k, was from the Space Marine novel "Brothers of the Snake". The final battle in the novel is the main character, a Space Marine veteran, against a single Dark Eldar. Its not even close. The SM get his shit kicked in. Its less of a fight and more of a torture session. The only reason he won in the end, after both of his arms were disabled , was due to his own cunning and poisonous acid spit and that the Eldar could not help himself and started gloating and touching himself.
It really is a hit and miss with playing Dark Eldar. In a three way combat patrol game, this guy's incubi slaughtered my space marines. All my weapons would hit and wound and the feel no pain save would still keep them up, but massive amounts of his kabalites were decimated by this other guy's 8th edition rules thousand sons.
Worthwhile note, in the massive-playtest-turned-lore-story that was the introduction of the Ynnari, one of the ways in which they were *scary*-powerful came up when the Drukhari attacked them. Yvraine took this personally, and hit them with some death god magic. That rebounded all the way back to Comorragh and *burned out sections of Haemonculus labs* . Straight up said "nope" to a perfectly-reliable form of immortality. Also funny that, however hard they may hit on tabletop, lore-wise those are almost all just glorified hunting rifles. They still have (some of) the utter bullshit Eldar ultratech, the stuff that equaled or sometimes surpassed the Necrons. They just *choose* not to use it. This is why they struggle with armor, lore-wise. Because using their good stuff would cause them all the problems innumerated in the video, and it's hard to take captives if you wiped a whole continent clean of sentient life with a piece of jewelry.
The Cenobites are so much less evil than the DEs; Pinhead and co actually believe they’re helping expand their victims consciousness and they practice what they preach on themselves as well.
Is it possible that a Drukhari would die, get cought by slaneesh, then be revived back to life? If so, I imagine at least some of them would TRY to attmept this kind of stuff.
@@nobleman9393it's why soulstones work, and how Eldar could do their massive debauchery before birthing Slaanesh. It used to be that when aeldari would 'die' they'd literally come back to life a short time later, but now with Slaanesh they can't do that coz Slaanesh eats their souls before they can respawn
You just gave me a newfound appreciation for the Drukhari, solely because it finally clicked for about them being inspired by old fae folk tales. Thanks!

1:54 People hate Tau so much. But they don't seem to realize that we would not get lovely stories like this without them. Without drone-swarms, and OP railguns, no other naive species would live long enough for our twisted amusement.
What i like about the tau is that they learn fast and considering how their technology improves faster then any other race then can be the biggest threat to the galaxy in 50k if they are left alone And since most species dont really see them as a threat this is very likely to happen They also have a lot of power to compell other races to their cause and are even immune to chaos since their souls are so weak they cant be picked up by any demons
I belive the Dark Eldar are the vast mayority of Eldar in existance both due to Commoragh beeing the rough size of a solar system and the prefferred method of breeding of dark eldar beeing mass cloning. A normal Eldar begins his life as a child working in a factory and either dies, gets promoted due to agression or just runs away to join another faction as somebody who can be trusted because he doesn't have a good murder motif yet has a need to eat imported slave suffering. There are also mostly unique Eldar Astartes-grade monsters made by the Heamonculi but there isn't many of them and get killed often due to racism attrition among dark eldar and naturally born dark eldar are automaticly nobility was everyone feels you have a more complete soul due to natural birth.
CBT elves, AKA, too edgy to be funny, to elvish to be serious. Also thanks for the explanation, all I know about deldar is lore and that they are paper thin.
The GW shop that appears at 11:36 is my hometown local in Plymouth (UK). I went back there today after a few years away. Still the same two blokes running it after nearly 20 years. Plymouth is sadly still an utterly godforsaken place where the air tastes of Lynx deodorant, sticky pound shop carpets and bitter disappointment which hasn't advanced economically or culturally since 2007. I'm glad I escaped.
Dark elder aren't as fragile as people think. There "tanks" are T6 and don't have many wounds sure, but they all have 5+ invulves and the coven side of the army has access to stuff like -1 damage etc. They're more like an old bent piece of carboard that been dissolving in acid for a little but protected by a super shield that means 1/3 of your attacks ain't gon do shit. nice vid.
I started 40k many moons ago by collecting Dark Eldar, when I was a literal edgy 12 year old, back when they first came out and were in the starter set. Mostly because they were Dark Elves (which I already collected) in space, I still enjoy the over the top villainy of both, it's why I also collected Skaven.
I was less edgy, but ended up building a small force when they were in the starter set...mainly because, well, most of the time 40K wasn't really played at the local store, so the only way to play was to have two armies. The closest to 40K was Necromunda and GorkaMorka, but the place had Fantasy, Mordheim, Star Wars (WEG), Warhammer Historicals, and Battletech...
Marazhai from Rogue Trader was my first introduction to Warhammer and Drukhari. It made me utterly obsessed with them and their aesthetic. They always reminded me of Cenobites and I love them. Hell I love all the Eldar, even the ones in DnD and TES, they’re the most interesting to me anyway.🥹 I’m an elf simp too💖
As my friend once said. "Cry all you want, that won't un skin the orphanage." He is the nicest person I know, yet becomes a terrifying person when he plays.
They do that because despite all of that they're still Aeldari, making them default better than everyone else in the entire galaxy. Craftworld Aeldari can accept the Drukhari. What they'll never accept is the Chaos-worshipping Aeldari, those are usually KoS.
If drukhari lost their touch with the warp (their psychic abilities) then what particular interest would slaanesh still have with them? I mean, dark eldar are essentialy on the same level of spiritual energy as the tau now?
They still have the ability to use Psychic powers it's just doing so would turn their soul from a small flame hidden by the pain of torture into a great beacon for Slaanesh to snap up.

What I don't understand about these creatures is are all vat grown edge lords clones or new people? If they are new people that brings up a lot more questions
It's a little bit of everything. Most Dark Eldar are vatborn, that is to say when a woman gets pregnant she sticks here baby in a tube and it grows into a Dark Eldar. Because showing emotion towards your child is weakness and if you're pregnant you can't go on raids and kill people very well. There are a few traditionally born Drukhari called Trueborn and they're elitist snobs because they were lucky enough to come out of a vagina. They also create monstrosities from their captured victims which is where the real edginess comes in.
@@pancreasnowork9939 well that brings up many questions such as Why would dark elder ever want to create kids? Do the vat grown emerge as fully developed adults? How are naturally born raised? Etc
@@christianweibrecht6555 the vats come out as fully grown adults yeah. As for why they’d want kids, well you get more people to torture the galaxy with of course. I thought the Deldar took every opportunity to avoid death because shuffling off their mortal coil, means their soul gets added to the all you can eat soul buffet as the guest of honor/main course for Slaanesh? How does them getting revived by a haemonculus from death square with that part of their lore?
If I remember correctly, they aren't actually being actively eaten when they die. Its not the sort of one and done thing like you think it is. Slaneesh doesn't just immediately digest their souls, she savors the flavor and slowly drains it over time. Don't get me wrong, souls do eventually dissipate and vanish entirely, but with how the Drukhari revive so quickly, they don't lose much. Though there are stories of Deldar who died for too long and came back visibly fucked up and in shambles mentally because Slaneesh ate a bit too much. The same goes for Harlequins but instead Cegorach is fist fighting slaneesh for clown souls.
@Blank Blank Cool. I didn't know that part of the lore. Thanks for sharing that. 👍 Edit: I especially like Cegorach fighting for clown souls with slaanesh.
@@rockjock3 yeah, its pretty funny actually. He fist fights her for the Solitaires specifically since Slaneesh reaaaaaally hates them and takes pleasure in torturing their souls personally.

I think there are far more of the Dark Kin than Craftworlders. Like, at least an order of magnitude more. Thats why there is the weird rump faction of 'corsairs' in the craftworld book. Originally, the eldar corsairs in lore were just Dark Eldar although it's more of a continuum from Craftworld-Corsair-DE than hard stops. So 99% of all the interactions Humans have with elves are going to be with Dark Eldar. Which explains a lot about why the craftworlders and Imperium rarely collaborate or ally despite having obvious shared interests and not really any competing objectives. If every time you have met a knife-ear in the last 10,000 years they torture porned your entire extended family to death, you likely aren't too keen on buddying up with their 'totally normal' cousins, regardless of practicalities.
I was thinking the next one of these would be AoS. I’ve already done the Skaven so I’m not purposefully doing the 40K ones first instead of AoS, it just kinda ended up that way.
All the fancy names GW came up with for their 'races', came from their desire to trademark everything. 'Dark Eldar' is too generic to trademark. They're extremely litigious, which is funny considering how utterly derivative 99% of their 'lore' is.
A few gun facts about the Drukhari that make me giggle when I think about them -Kabalite armours are nailed to their nerves, which makes them only stronger since they are in constant pain -Also Kabalite rifles have built in cameras that film the whole raid, so when they are riding back home they rewatch the videos just to get some extra pain -Some Archons are capable of shutting off whole sections of Commoragh, so if they decide they don't particularly like you they lock you up for eternity -Despite what White Scars fans tell you, it's nearly impossible to drive normal bikes in Commoragh, because the geography of the city is always changing. You could be speeding down a long road and then boom, you find yourself flying over a cliff Looney Toons style -In gladiatorial combats, Wytches are so high on every kind of drug that they usually take a lot to die. There was a short story on how a wytch was severed in two by a monster (don't remember which one) and still managed to take a look at the lower half of her body before dying -Drukhari worship Dark Muses, other Dark Eldars who managed to obtain god level infamy. By the way, they don't worship them like gods, they are more like rockstars apart from a few -Asdrubael Vect, the greatest Archon in Commoragh, also decided to become a Dark Muse and is the only one still alive (that we know of)

Yeah they arent that fond of war, because they REALLY wont endure a prolonged conflict, they arent Khone after all. They love inflicting suffering however, so a good raid on an undefended world to bring home a few toys thats more to their liking.
They literally called the current time period "The Age of Plenty", they love it

I think we have a different notion of "edgy". Having spikes on your armour is edgy. Turning people into rape-able furniture for thousands of years is abhorrent.
And it's edgy too.
Especially if you add spikes to the furniture ;)
There's also barely anything indicating they're into BDSM and sexual games, they just torture and cause suffering usually in a non-sexual manner. If their slaves were sexually tortured they'd eventually start enjoying it, and then no more pain to feed to Slaneesh.

"As a T'au player"
Are you mad, saying these things out loud?
Is it true that T'au struggle against other ranged armies? I remember hearing that somewhere.
On tabletop? Not much since everyone wants to get into melee range and most army’s (if not all) have better melee then T’au.

@@TheKolboShow The Idoneth Deepkin are like marine dark elves on Age of Sigmar Isn't? Their use of marine beasts as mounts and war beasts look dope.

Technology is a *strong* word for what they’re doing.
For reasons I don't want to think about, because I can't afford the therapy bills, that is not comforting. I would choose death over being "rebuilt" by the Dark Eldar. I would rather be eaten alive by Tyranids.
@@joshuasepeda3289death would mean eternal damnation in the clutch of slaanesh so no. You really wouldnt want that
I’ve kinda abused the liberties of flavor and made my army a chaotic neutral band of mercenaries that broke away from Commorragh and only torture Orks and Tyranids. Someone once asked me why even play Dark Eldar at that point and I just said I just think they look neat.
Go you
There would be zero point in torturing Tyranids.
I’m surprised there hasn’t been a story about a Waagh going to comaragh and since the fight is so big all the orks just converge there
Wouldn't they need to find it first? Imagining a loony toons sign post that says Waagh this way with an arrow leading down a actual rabbit hole.
@@Stevie-Jhere’s the thing, tzeench could plan to send them to like, super hell or something dumb like that, but because the orkz believe it leads to comaragh, it does, completely fucking tzeench’s plans in the process
Very late, but if you still like the idea then "Da Big Dakka" by Mike Brooks is what you want.
I look forward to the harlequin one, especially to when you said that the eldar in general are afraid of them

An abridged summary of the Drukhari…
Lelith: “Hey, it’s your favorite Egirl, Lelith Hesperax.” *proceeds to kills people with her hair blades*
Rakarth: *doing experiments so horrible that the other Dark Eldar find them traumatizing*
Drahza: *killing everything with his massive sword* “Mediocre.”
Mandrakes leader: *pops out of the shadows* “Hey kids, wanna see a dead body?”
Lord Vect: *watching all this play out* “Hi, I’m Asdrubael Vect, and welcome to Jackass!”
Only books i read about 40k and i loved it since Drukhari are my favs...it really gives an idea of how powerful and frightening Vect is...loved how the Solitaire was looking for a way to get as far away from him every chance he got XD
so they're the ones posting all the gore porn on the Astronomican
The fact that they can't use warp stuff due to slaanesh makes me imagine they're just sending some random smuck on a suicide mission just to make someone's day worse
Seeing my opponents face after I referred to his Drukari as sweat goblins reinvigorated MY soul.
The Orks and Drukhari are the only ones having fun out there, might as well join the party
I only support this because it leads to more dead space wolves.
The imperium doesn't have webway access, and even if they did, it's an endless labyrinth in which they wouldn't be able to find the place.
ulric will have words with you for hating the space wolves. not even sigmar will protect you from the wolf father because they are still friends.
Elven Cenobites.
They have such sights to show you...
The Cenobites are so much less evil than the DEs; Pinhead and co actually believe they’re helping expand their victims consciousness and they practice what they preach on themselves as well.

So are you an communist or a weeb?
Yes
What i like about the tau is that they learn fast and considering how their technology improves faster then any other race then can be the biggest threat to the galaxy in 50k if they are left alone
And since most species dont really see them as a threat this is very likely to happen
They also have a lot of power to compell other races to their cause and are even immune to chaos since their souls are so weak they cant be picked up by any demons
The background music is absolutely golden. Fitting, and just unsettling with the deadpan talking.

They also create monstrosities from their captured victims which is where the real edginess comes in.

I genuinely love the Dark Eldar because they are hilariously Edgy

A few gun facts about the Drukhari that make me giggle when I think about them
-Kabalite armours are nailed to their nerves, which makes them only stronger since they are in constant pain
-Also Kabalite rifles have built in cameras that film the whole raid, so when they are riding back home they rewatch the videos just to get some extra pain
-Some Archons are capable of shutting off whole sections of Commoragh, so if they decide they don't particularly like you they lock you up for eternity
-Despite what White Scars fans tell you, it's nearly impossible to drive normal bikes in Commoragh, because the geography of the city is always changing. You could be speeding down a long road and then boom, you find yourself flying over a cliff Looney Toons style
-In gladiatorial combats, Wytches are so high on every kind of drug that they usually take a lot to die. There was a short story on how a wytch was severed in two by a monster (don't remember which one) and still managed to take a look at the lower half of her body before dying
-Drukhari worship Dark Muses, other Dark Eldars who managed to obtain god level infamy. By the way, they don't worship them like gods, they are more like rockstars apart from a few
-Asdrubael Vect, the greatest Archon in Commoragh, also decided to become a Dark Muse and is the only one still alive (that we know of)
Perfect song for deldar
