I have both the Sensate and the Apollo Neuro. I gave a Sensate to my son for Christmas--it failed almost immediately. It took weeks to get a response from the company and supposedly they are sending a new one--in March. Apollo Neuro customer service is excellent and fast to respond. I prefer theirs for three reasons: I can wear it all day long, it has made a tremendous difference (I fall asleep right away), and they have excellent customer service. I will say that when I am having trouble sleeping I sometimes use both of them at the same time, and the overall effect seems stronger.
@@Jfresh55 Speaking for myself, yes I would. I've recommended it to friends and it's made a big difference for them, particularly if they have a lot of anxiety. I think they are having a sale right now (I get emails) that give a discount. Here is the code : HOLIDAY100. BUT I think it ends after the 16th of December--which is to say, after tomorrow. If you're not in a rush, get on their mailing list--I periodically get sales from them. Not real often but it does happen. Good luck.
I also have both of these devices and I use my Apollo Neuro every night on the sleep mode to fall asleep. I used to use sleeping pills nightly but since I’ve received the Apollo Neuro have completely stopped. However, I’m not convinced that I have not just trained my body (like a conditioned response) to fall asleep when I feel the sensation of the buzzing from the device. I’m newer to the Sensate so I appreciated hearing that you sometimes use both devices! I’ll try that out!

Would have liked a 4th one but the owner didn’t like the fact that I was complaining about their quality control on line and let me know in no uncertain terms that I would not be sent a replacement. That was over a week ago and I my purchase price has yet to be refunded. That’s my experience with the product and the company. Appreciate your video!

Great review! I have this device and I like it, but want to mention that the blue tooth on the vibration drops regularly. The company provided me with a replacement, but it does the same thing. It does feel nice, but gets a little annoying when for over a minute at a time vibration cuts out.
Katie, I bought the Sensate 2. Instant neutral/calm. I keep thinking it’s a gimmick but it does really work. I also use it sometimes with my Muse S that I also thank you for recommending. I like how the device feels but cannot find immediate improvements on my HRV across different devices. Katie I wonder if you measured it and saw any difference.
I'm late to the party, but thanks for this review. As a psychotherapist I've been interested in this device, but before I got into these more in-depth reviews Sensate was looking like a fancy vibration-based "be here now" reminder for a meditation practice (something that might be easily replaced by setting a timer to go off once in a while). It was interesting to see that it's actually something more immersive, or an attempt at something immersive anyway. Too bad about the technical issues, and the price tag that has gone way up since this recording at least for us in the EU region - it's currently at 300 eur ($320).
Yeah, 100% - as you said...I'd like to see some more peer reviewed trials and studies on devices like these...especially given the price. Right now it seems a little "snake oily" to me.
Definitely a placebo factor involved. If it gets the results then I think it’s worth it even if it helps you placebo yourself 🤣 but yeah not enough science backing it for me to give it a strong recommendation.
Hey Katie, I have had stress, depression and anxiety since it happened in College whenever I am bullied and I feel stressed every time of day in College and when I go back it is hard to get rid of stress in my house so which device will help me to get rid of my bad stressful thoughts in my mind?
I had a sensate and didn't enjoy using it. Plus it died just before I sent it back. Going to buy the Apollo now I think. Could you do a review of the NOW tone therapy system please?
I had the the NOW and just returned it. It does sound nice, very immersive, however for the cost, I wouldn't do it. Just get one of those singing bowls
I just subbed because I cannot remember listening and watching anyone explain a technology for well-being, better than you, young lady. Well done! As a matter of fact I am forwarding this video to my 24 year old daughter who is the light of my life and would never recommend anyone or anything that doesn’t feel right to me. You will be just what my very intelligent and mega stressed daughter working towards doctorate in Psychology, and she will appreciate her father for having the presence of mind to offer her the chance to hear you out as the the person I trust.
I like my Sensate but their support is not great - especially since there is something wrong with the device and it was new. I agree at the price point (esp. for Canadians). The issue I am having is a distracting static noise that is coming out of the charging input area (not the metal necklace attachment that I have taped down) that started shortly after purchasing. They said it would go away with charging and it did not. This static noise rarely turns off- and it's really annoying. It actually triggers stress when using it without earphones as there are circumstances I use it this way. Customer service/support is SO slow getting back to me (months now) that my warranty will run out before I hear back... I am trusting they will do right by it? They seem to be focusing hard on selling and not on retaining or supporting. If I get my RUclips channel up, I'll be sure to share this experience fairly as this is a big investment and not ok.
Is it worth buying both Apollo and Sensate? I currently have Apollo and Sensate seems like a stronger vagus nerve stimulator. Have you used both of them at the same time? I usually get anxiety during public speaking and I usually get tightened breathing that prevents me from talking.
I have a 10 inch subwoofer at the foot of my bed and like to play deep slow bass music so it vibrates my body. It helps me fall asleep so fast and I sleep so well. Is that kind of the sensation that this provides?
well done review. This neuroscientist who has taught human anatomy and human physiology for over a quarter of a century will tell you that the vagus nerve is not THE "cranial nerve" it is ONE pair of twelve pairs of cranial nerves. Otherwise - VERY well done.
Monks meditate a low frequency 'Ohm' sound to the same effect, and it's free, and you can do your breathing exercises at the same time. - Vs £400 for a phone connected pebble shaped vibrator for the same 'benefit' - Cost seems excessive to say the least.

I thought the idea of using the Sensate II with Heart Math Inner Balance (biofeedback) device was an interesting idea: (ruclips.net/video/K-iaEOmbHaA/видео.html) He claims he gets much higher coherence when using the 2 devices together.
