A composition of Saint Purandara Dasa, this song depicts how Mother Yashoda tries to convince little Krishna to stay at home and play, rather than on the streets and in other Gopi’s houses. Towards the end of the composition, we see, how Mother Yashoda realizes that her child is none other than Purandara Vittala himself. This has a philosophical connotation of how the Lord cannot be identified and he can be just anywhere near us. Yashoda herself was unable to catch hold of her son, until he revealed himself.
