    Aparajita Sarma
    Aparajita Sarma as an artiste has been practicing and performing Bhartanatyam since 25 years under the guidance of Guru Kanaka Sudhakar in Delhi. A scholarship holder and a doordarshan graded artiste she has performed extensively in India's many cultural platforms and has also traveled abroad with her art form. Her experiences include teaching and performing in Bali, Indonesia under ICCR for over a year. Apart from actively working in productions and choreographies with her Guru, her two own productions have been Mrigtrishna (chasing desires) and Kashmakash (Kaikeyi's Dilemma). Some of Aparajita's performances have been in Delhi International Arts Festival, Abu International Festival, International Ladakh Festival, Simariya Festival Patna, Sangeet Natak Akademi Festival Dehradun, Spic Macay (performance and workshop in Kota), International Bali Festival, Festival of India Venezuela, Festival by the Nile Egypt, Hindu Temple Performance Edinburgh and many more.
    At present, she is the senior Acharya in Nrityabharati, Delhi and manages NGO, S.U.N.A.INA, Society for the Upliftment of National Arts of India, supporting Education and Culture.

    Bharatanatyam
    Bharatanatyam is one of the 8 classical dance forms of India. Originally from Tamil Nadu, it is now practiced throughout the world and is a popular genre in many Indian Dande Festivals. The Bharatanatyam dancer is accompanied with the Nattuvangam, Violin, Mridangam and the Flute along with the Vocal rendition during a Bharatanatyam performance. Originally performed mainly in temple dance, this Indian dance form has now spread across languages, genres, religion and boundaries. A regular Bharatanatyam repertoire consists of an Alarippu, Jathiswaram, Sabdam, Varnam, Padam and a Thillana. The Tanjore Quartet is supposed to have formulated the present day repertoire.
    Bharatanatyam is an Important Dance Style and is performed in Indian dance festivals & Indian Cultural Events. Dance has always been an integral form of Indian Heritage, Culture & Tradition. Indian Classical Dance Forms have also found their way into the commercial Indian Film Industry. Dance music videos in various Indian are also inspired by Traditional Dance Forms & Classical Dance Styles.
