@@ramencurry6672 Right, but I couldn’t enjoy myself if I knew I was overpaying like crazy. I prefer to have a beer on tap or a special cocktail, something that I wouldn’t be replicate that easy at home.
I'm visiting NYC later this year and I want to stop in to check out the place. I no longer drink so maybe a non-alcoholic drink and something to eat to enjoy the ambiance.
@@funwithflags7506 Lol was hoping this would be here. Now we wait 2 years for a guy called Càrmíc Màchaelrbh with a photo of a Celtic cross to write "Tiocfaidh ár lá" and the whole beautiful cycle begins.
Can’t really say for sure since I’ve never been to this place, but if there’s going to be such a thing as ‘the best bar the world’, it would be one of the places in Japan. The Japanese bartenders have the best techniques in the world.
Absolutely not!! The bars in Japan are completely soul-less. The bartenders are precise and technically talented but that is SUCH a tiny part of being a bartender. There is zero engagement with customers. It's the exact opposite of what these guys have created. Believe me, the World's Best Bars list is not a joke - the best bars in the world are all on that top 50 list.
@@lukesheppard9215I think a mixture of customer service and technique can make the best bar in the world. I love good customer service, but I'm also not there to chat with the bartender. I want a delicious handcrafted cocktail as fast as possible. That's the truth of what 90% of cocktail bar fans are looking for.
I’ve worked around the corner from dead rabbit since before its opening and I can confidently tell you it’s not even New York’s best bar, let alone the entire planet’s. Perhaps criteria is best mix of vibe and high end cocktails, in which case DR scores high. It’s certainly a fantastic cocktail spot, but World’s best is just a drop of hyperbole. I guess that’s how you get noticed.
If you get noticed enough to win "World's Best Bar", then you've done ok. Of COURSE it's scored on a mixture of the atmosphere and drink quality - what else would it be scored on? New York (and London) are lucky enough to have LOADS of bars which, in any given year, can win World's Best Bar but it's not just a marketing gimmick - the award is earnt!
I can never drink whiskey in a bar, the prices are just insane compared to buying a bottle online. Always having beers or cocktails.
You are correct. However it doesn’t have the same entertainment atmosphere as being at a nice bar or being out traveling

This place has been on my list for what feels like so long (5 years at this point) post-COVID I’m going all out here🤩🥳
Did you ever go?

I'll check this out later this year when I'm in New York. Big claim to say Worlds best.
This is not a claim. It’s official.
Where's the portrait of Priest Vallon?
This is so weird, I'm from Belfast Ireland and I know the exact bars they're talking about, what a coincidence!

Shocking sound mixing in this vid. Just flat out gave up 30 seconds in cause I could barely hear the blokes over the background music.
