This is warm, friendly and fascinating. With 25 years sobriety, I did little drinking in bars with the exception of friends from work who met every couple of months in our favorite lounge. The greater part of my drinking career was spent in my home, alone. For so many people that enjoy drinking and just want to share a bit of conversation with familiar faces, this looks wonderful! Cheers! 🍷
Back in the 80's I worked in a small bar called The Cedar Club, on the outskirts of a small rural Texas town. It also opened at 8 am. Sometimes when I showed up to open, I'd have guys sitting in their pickups waiting for me to unlock the doors. It was a small beer and wine bar, but we also served free coffee. Some of the people would come in for the free coffee, but stay and have a few beers too. We had three "shifts" as the owner called them. We had the morning "shift" from opening until around noon. Then the second "shift" would start arriving and stay until around 4 or 5 pm. Then we had the evening/night "shift" with some customers that stayed until closing at 2 am. It was another one of those bars that "everyone knows your name!"
Living mostly in Ireland , the most thing that shocked me about the "early House" in the cities has been the clientel that were on their to work, Judges , Solicitors, Barristers, Bankers, one was a window cleaner 😮 a priest and many more. They mingled happily with those finishing work like cops and taxi drivers, it was strange. 😅🤔
There was a bar / Restaurant in the port Authority back in the late 60,s and early 70,s called The Post and Coach . The restaurant was fabulous. The bar was separated from the restaurant by itself . It was open in the morning for rush hour and was packed people standing three deep at 7:30 AM .
I work third trick, for 3 years, when I was just out of highschool. We go to the bar every morning at 8:15 after work and it would be packed with other night shift workers from other factories around town. Nobody judged us when we came pouring out of there about 11:3012:00.
Wow what a treat to see... my first trips to NYC in 2004 found us meandering through this neighbourhood and finding the (now gone) Pomodoro Pizza place across the street ... the natural progression was to head over to Spring Lounge for some Yuenglings... a tradition was born... every time we've visited NYC since, Spring Lounge has been our destination. If you find yourself at Spring Lounge, you've seen a wonderful part of NYC on the way to get there... and you've found the best place in NYC!
Bars in the Bronx, and probably the other boroughs, could open at 8 am and close at 4 am. On Sunday it could open at 12 Noon. And it closed an hour earlier on Saturday night, or after midnight at 3 am. My dad was a bartender. He worked 6 days a week, 10 hours a day.
I thought all the Bars could open 24/7 . I mean I had some great day and nights in NYC Bars but was prob carried out at 5am😂, i seriously thought they stayed open after that as well.
When I first started working in construction as a summer job when I was 14 year old, the crew I was on would meet at a local pub at 6 am for breakfast. No one in my crew drank at that time but I noticed other guys sitting at the bar knocking down pints. I just couldn’t understand it. As an adult, I know exactly why
I lived in a big American city where bars closed at 4:00 am and opened again at 7 am. Just enough time for the help to z out the registers, clean the place up, restock the bar, and reopen. That was fine but sometimes I just went to a 24-hour bar so I didn’t have to worry about when they closed. 😂
Wish i'd known about that place years ago, when i visited, was going home on a Monday night flight. I was in and out of empty bars in Manhattan around lunchtime killing time, mind you,if the craic
Every bar in NYC has a comedy show?! WRONG!!!! And, as a retired cop who worked many night shifts, this is a normal thing! It's not the morning when you work nights!
Who drinks at 8am, the night shift that gets off at 8am.
People who work the night shift, should be able to have a beer after work.

I truly enjoyed watching. This lady has a wonderful attitude to life and a personality to match.
Thank you to everyone working overnight to keep the city running
It truly is the city that never sleeps
I would probably need a morning drink too if I lived in NYC
This is true. Trust me.

Fun fact, back in the day, like the 1500s, beer / ale WAS a breakfast item. it just stopped being one as time went on
The world is a darker place for that.
**1800s
Their beer was much weaker than today's, it was basically like 1% alcohol so mostly water.
Because the water was not safe
Was also like 3.2 abv
been to literally EVERY bar in all 5 boroughs? i kinda doubt that.

Love the horse shoe Bar. My old hangout!!
great to see SOME things haven't been totally wiped out by our broken system.
There are thousands of great bars in NYC. Most don't open at 8 AM though.
Do people realize that there are people who work from midnight to 8 am?

She's adorable! If I can get up early enough, I'm going to check this place out. I want a T-shirt!
The Park Tavern in NJ opens at 7am!
As a rule humans not on the typical daily grind are interesting! Love it!
I used to know a bunch of places open at 8 am ...and drank in them all ..
Dublin House West 79th
Then at 10:00am is an AA meeting half block down ;)
My grandfather is from New York City. And he used to drink whiskey in the morning. Pretty much every morning.
Rent is so high in New York City. I could totally understand !
Sunrises…time to drink
Alot of Bars in the Big Citys only close for a hour or two to clean then re-open
I would drink at 8am every day.... if I were an alcoholic.
Here in Dublin we call them "early house's" some open @ 7am. Usually around the markets & docks.

Where I live in California, bars are opened in the morning time, too. I thought this is normal stuff.
These people worrying about drinking at 8 am have obviously not spent much time in Europe or Asia.
Or aren't aware of people that work overnight
My local bar in Portland opens at 7am
Chicago bars can also open at 7 AM except on Sunday.
thanks
I said something to my friend about a bar open at 730 and he said its the midnight shifts 4 pm.
I thought all the Bars could open 24/7 .

Lots of guys used to work night shifts manufacturing or whatever too and go hit the bar for a couple afterwards.
Not in a million years would i go at 8 in the morning!

Great bar..
Used to drink while in grad school at the International in the East Village at 9AM. Not sure if it’s still there. It was on 1st Ave.
That was great
Its all nice and fun until you get the crazy alcoholics or negligent drunks
I will go to nyc from south korea
This on july.
See you there!
If you want to wind up with a roomate and ex - wife , drink at 8 am.
You always have Rudy’s in Hells Kitchen where you get a beer and a shot for $5. Well before Covid you did. Free hotdogs and loose women.
Polacy piją całą dobę 🤣🤣🤣

Third Shift Sales Rep😆
had no idea that spot opened at 8
Love this bar, will visit
Long Islands in the am.
In Japan workers will have a drink before they go to work and it’s not a big deal at all.
Contract on Cherry st.(1977) scenes filmed here with Frank Sinatra and Martin Balsam.
I'm not sure how secret these bars are with their names outside on signs.
Yay- Alocoholism!
That guiness tho is shocking...not like irelands
They don't have 24hr bars there? Some open at 6am where I live
There’s bars in Milwaukee that open at 6am
Manitowoc too
Bars in Phoenix open at 6am so I am very unimpressed
I'm sure there are plenty of bars in the city that open at 8am
Shark bar
Vegas bars never close
Not one night shift worker in the whole video
0:17 yanks don't know what "literally" means.

If you don't work third shift I can't understand why you woild want to ruin your day by drinking in the morning.

…a bar is open at 8am BIG F’n whoop…every neighborhood bar in NYC opens at 8am
Isn't Mike Cannon Sober? What is this?
There is nothing remarkable or impressive about drinking alcohol early in the morning.
Alcoholism at its finest 😂😂😂😂😂
😢
Birunga
He's visited every bar in all five buroughs. Now he's awaiting a liver transplant.
She has vocal fry
Seems late to me
8 AM? In Québec all tavern open at 8 AM, nothing special about it
This bar isn't that special. There's heaps of bars that open at 8am in NYC. Most of the them are local watering holes in the outer buroughs.
If you have to ask if it’s too early to drink… you’re an amateur and we can’t be friends…
Surprised NY post didn't post something bad about immigrants this time
🍻👍
😌❤️🙏
Every bar in NYC has a comedy show?! WRONG!!!! And, as a retired cop who worked many night shifts, this is a normal thing! It's not the morning when you work nights!
Theres like 20,000 bars in nyc. Guy says hes been to them all. I call bs.

No thanks. Life is better without it.
Nothing cool about alcohol, grow up.
Gross alcohol in the AM
