    Those Turn A designations are easy, they're seemingly random simply because they're from countries, armies or engineers in the dark history, who's existence is lost to time. It's like building WWII tanks 1k years from now and wondering why they have such random designations when the countries they were made by don't exist.

    • @robertdrexel2043
      @robertdrexel2043 2 года назад +10

      Agreed. I think there was something to that effect in the background of the series. For example, the Wodom could mean a unit of Neo-Japan from G-Gundam. Though I do not know about that Model U that was I guess recently added. I never saw it being used like that before now. Shrug.

      yeah! actually, i think he already did SEED and SEED Destiny, maybe. as for Build Series, i wanna see him go in depth and also explain its place in the Dark History (with my theory being that in that version of the Dark History, they did some sort of Plavsky Particle or whatever experiment on a Perfect Grade Turn A Gundam Gunpla (one can only WISH for a Perfect Grade Turn A. tho i would prefer it to be Perfect Grade Unleashed) and it went haywire and did the thing, which would also explain the lack of knowledge on who the pilot was, or if there even was a pilot when the Turn A first destroyed society)

    The W in the Airmaster's model number could probably stand for "wing" as it's an aerial unit, just as the T in the Leopard could be for tank, since it's an artillery unit.

    For G Gundam the Numbers especially for Neo Japan could be using an Imperial Calendar Like Designation
    Assuming the MS Frame is called the Type 71 which could mean it's MS-71 name or MA-60 as Type 60 Mobile Armor
    Edit:
    I'm assuming Neo Japan must be using these Designation due to previous Designation with military equipment as they have a tendency to do that especially with Armored Units or weaponry, especially with the Japanese Self Defense Force with their tanks being named by Year they were built or final approval
    Like Type 90 Kyu-maru and Type 10 Hitomaru

    Can't say I blame you for not wanting to figure out some of the Turn A units. The Gozzo especially is a tossup. I remember reading early information that suggested the Gozzo was from the Wing After Colony timeline. Considering units like the Wing Gundam had a large glass dome on the chest, said technology could have been refined into the Gozzo's cockpit hatch. Some current information though seems to hint the Gozzo to be from the Gundam X timeline. Really it could be either of them.

Then for moonrace, I think the Sumo being MRC and the excavator being MR is in fact to stand for MoonRace, but the sumo being a fighting unit means MoonRace Combat. Since the excavator is a civilian unit it does not get the combat designation.

    Question of the week (with regards to the model numbers):
    RGM-89 is the vanilla Jegan which appeared in CCA, U.C.0093 and 1988 in the real world. RGM-89D is the 'Jegan D Type' or aka 'Jegan Type-D' according to the HGUC box arts that appeared in Gundam Unicorn, U.C.0096 and 2010 in real life. Also in Unicorn, the RGM-89A2 is simply 'Jegan Type-A2', the RGM-89De stands for 'Jegan D Ecoas Type' and the RGM-89S stands for the 'Stark Jegan' and the 'EWAC Jegan' was numbered RGM-89DEW. The 'Jegan Type-D Escort Type' from Gundam Narrative is numbered RGM-89D-ESC.
    All that is understandable and reasonable. But when it comes to F91 I got super confused.
    According to the PB HGUC box art, 'Jegan A Type' is numbered RGM-89R rather than RGM-89A, which I have absolutely no clue about what the R stands for and why it is not assigned the model number RGM-89A. The same goes for the RGM-89J 'Jegan Normal Type' and the RGM-89M 'Jegan B Type'. The R, the J and the M after Jegan's model number do not make any sense to me and I doubt there is something to do with the order the anime released in real life as well as a reason in the U.C. universe. What is your opinion on this as the expert on the model numbers?

    Can I make a suggestion with the G Gundam model numbers? Instead of year it entered service, it could be the expected year of exiting service. Some gun companies do that to show how long they expect it to serve in a military, law enforcement, or just how long they originally plan to make parts for it.

    I'm suddenly regretting having no images for the units from my novel... They're easy! EMMF - Earth Machine Mobile Forces, the Gundams developed on Earth in secret; OC-X are mass-produced Mobile Suits developed by ONI from one of the missing Gundam blueprints; MNSF - Martian Naval Special Forces, the Gundams developed from the other three missing blueprints; MAGB and MAGB-T2, the letters are Mobile Armour follwed by the nation to which it belongs, in this example Grand Britain, followed by sequential numbers as per tradition, while T2 refers to the small build number Whalebanes, so big they require two pilots, though they're not much bigger than the kind of Glider seen in Stargate SG-1, each pilot operates either flight or weapons, it can be swapped round mid-flight should such a need ever arise!

    if you can send 1 mass production unit (with a sufficiently trained old type pilot) from anywhere in the UC timeline back to OYW to single handedly win it for whichever side you choose which would it be?

    • @RamzaJinnRuu

      This is fucking easy to answer: RGM-89S Stark Jegan and piloted by an unnamed veteran of the Second Neo Zeon conflict. He had Marida Cruz beat if it wasn't for that heavy ass anti-beam shielding she had on the front of the co-pit of the NZ-666 Kshatriya. If you put that unit and pilot (mind you he/she is an old-type) on the EFSF side he would wreck Zeon so badly they would give up the fight within first two months.

    Is there any type of special maneuvers that moblie suits pilots use when in combat , for example like in real life fighters pilots can do a maneuver like the Cobra to get a chance of shooting down a enemy. Is there anything like this in Gundam ?

    • @TheHiddenBoss
      @TheHiddenBoss 2 года назад +1

      You mean like the Jet Stream Attack which was meant for shooting down ships but was also used to 3v1 an enemy mobile suit? Or perhaps solo moves like Char’s kick-off trick that gave his Zaku II the reputation of moving 3x faster than any other Zaku?

    Question: How do pilots control a mobile suit really? I know that most MS cockpits have two levers/sticks similar to the throttle lever we have in airplanes, and they're also equipped with foot-pedals. But how do MS pilots control the roll, the yaw and the axis movement of the MS, not to mention the individual hand or arm movements we see when an MS tries to grab something, etc...
