What Gunpla Kit Should You Buy Next? - Helpful Tips

Every kit has its pros and cons. And more recently, Bandai's quality has been improving to where every new kit that has come out has been fantastic.
In this video I share a few tips that I use to decide which kit I want to buy next. My most recent purchases? The Master Grade Red Frame Astray, simply because I don't have an Astray, and Master Grades are my preferred level of detail.

A good rule of thumb of mine is when I'm desperately looking for something to buy then I should not really buy anything at all. A very helpful tip to avoid burning a hole to your wallet.
I used to think that I should just get whatever design I like, but after a while I realized that the post-build is what really matters for me, space and playability, regardless if the kit looks cool but not fun to pose around with, it just becomes an eyesore for me. The most recent offender to me is the MG Aile Strike.
I limit myself with 1/144 to avoid my wallet going into destroy mode.
I have the RG Strike Freedom and the RG Unicorn on my desk. Both of my favourite suits.
I get whatever designs are my favorite, usually from shows I've seen and liked. I think the grade I prefer now is MG.
MG is top tier, though I’d love to see poses you could pull off with the PG Astray 😏
Don't have much space so I'm sticking to HG/RG in terms of size. I generally gravitate towards plamo/gunpla from shows that I've watched to recreate iconic scenes. Currently have the Origin versions for the RX-78-2 and Char's Zaku II as well as the EZ-8 and Gouf Custom.
Just finished the RG Exia as my first ever Gunpla then proceeded to collect HG kits for the Dynames, Kyrios, and Virtue. Will move on next to Gundam Wing Series then IBO then etc hahah.💪
I've been working on a few scattered kits for something to do...however, I'm really wanting to, eventually, get the parts to build the AC Era MP Gundams from Tiel's Impulse. I just like their designs.
Started this week, already have 4 gundams and a gunpla mandalorian set…. Anyways, I really like the RG/MG kits. I went from a HG to a RG to a 1/100 MG. Definitely the “center piece”, but it’s nice having a few 1/144s around it. (I’d say just go with what you think looks cool)

I've just been getting what I think looks cool. I've been going through the universal century animes and I really want to pick up more kits from Zeta Gundam but finding master grades in stock for that series is hard. Finding a MG Hyaku-Shiki that doesn't have a $20 shipping charge would be a dream come true lmao
Lol yeah it sucks that some kits have had low production rates lately. Hopefully it all picks back up now that Bandai is off of their 40th anniversary shenanigans
I've just started this month with Gunpla. My first one was a HG Heavyarms. It throws me back into my childhood in the early 2000th as MS Gundam Wing was in the evening/night programm on television at the same time gived the kit me the feeling of building a Lego Kit as Kid. It was fun and easy but a little too easy. Now I'm thinking of buying the MG Tallgeese (not MKII) with trying to panel lining. My goal is to gather the after colony Gundams and mass productions first. I like All the suits from MS Gundam Wing their have a very unique design from the OZ Mass Production MS Leo, Taurus to Wing Gundam, Heavyarms, Sandrock, Deathscythe, Shenlong/Altron or the Tallgeese versions to the Epyon or the Wing Zero Custom. I love them all.

Just started. I'm not sure or I should wait to get an airbrush, compressor and painting booth for the 3 kits I have already build: Mark II AEUG RG, Freedom MGSD and Hi Nu RG . Or spend that money toward the RG kits I'm really looking forward to building: Sazabi, Nu effect set, Unicorn Full Armor.
When is a good time to invest more into the tools instead of kits? I'm using a cheap Bandai dubbel sided nipper with hobby knifes to do my nub cleaning. It works, with lots of patience and time, but I think at some point a good single sided nipper would save me lots of time on nub cleaning, including some better glass files and sand paper.
I like kits that have a figure in cockpit feature. I’ll be getting the PG Unleashed because the PG Exia with lights is sold out everywhere!
Adam Savage recently built the PGU, and it reminded me of how fun that kit was! PG Exia is a great kit, and my favorite PG because of 00, but the lighting version is almost impossible to find. Though, if you're able to find the base model, pretty much all the 3rd party lighting kits are better than Bandai's, especially if you find one that is USB powered
I'm 40+, been into Gundam since before Gundam Wing was brought over in the early 2000's, yet I only started Gunpla now after all these years. Only technically have one Gunpla kit under my belt, Entry Grade RX-78-2, and two 30 Minutes Missions kits so far. Although, even with your tips, I don't know which Gunpla kit I want next. I do still have an unbuilt HGAC Heavyarms, so maybe before figuring out what's next, I should tackle that first haha.
Nothing wrong with that! The Wing series has a great selection of kits, one of my personal favorites being the Master Grade Tallgeese. If you're itching to buy something, but not sure what to get, you could always get some tools 🙂
@@aMillaGunpla Oh there ya go, great suggestion! Since I still have four kits waiting to be built, instead of adding to that I could definitely go after some tools and/or paints that might help improve my builds. I definitely want to get some top coat. And I could probably benefit from investing in some quality nippers. Thanks man!

Looking to get into Gunpla. I've always wanted to start building ever since I was a kid but I was always scared to get into it because not being able to finish and it just looks tedious. Fast forward over a decade and I think I just want to start asap.
Now is one of the best (and possibly worst) times to get into the hobby! The best because pretty much all of the kits Bandai has come out with since 2019 have been amazing, worst because as of the middle of this year, cargo ships have been crowding off-shore, which has tightened the US supply chain, specifically for newer kits. But all in all, I'd say it's a great time to start building!
Definitely completing the SEED kits and the Astrays. I dropped my interest for the 00 kits since it is really hard to find the Dynames.
Dynames was all over 2020! Hopefully you’re able to get one because it’s a great kit. I’ll keep a lookout for it in the US 😉
im getting the dantalion gundam from iron blooded orphans, too bad shipping got delayed so im gonna have to wait a few weeks
Nice! On the flip-side, sometimes seeing kits makes me want to read/watch/rewatch the series they came from

Got into RGs initially but MGs just hit different for me.

i cant find any perfect grades in singapore tho and online is hard to find too
Hi I just built my first into grade Gundam which Gundam should I do next should I go form entry grade to like another grade or should I stay at entry grateful awhile then keep going
All up to you, depends on how comfortable you are with your skill level and if you want to start diving into more complex builds

Any high grade in Witch from Mercury line or HGUC from no.191 forward is fine.
I am buying, building, collecting kits under wing series only. As it was the only gundam series i watched since my childhood until now. I liked some of the designs of other gundams from other series but i can't appreciate it because i did not watched its anime. I cant watch more anime series now as i am a grown man now that have full time job and already married 😅

Damn that PG Exia for $180 was a bargain 🤣 with the sortage of Gundams there are none to be found at that price. I paid almost double that for mine. 😔
